Alright, seeing as she's decently wealthy it would be more interesting to nix the firearms training. Rely on hired security and it makes you having a gun now that much more daunting as you wouldn't be too comfortable with it I'd assume. Concerning the biography, Google was founded in 1998 (when Crystal was likely getting out of university) and would have been entirely in-house, no hiring, especially overseas. Same with the drones. Personal quad-copters took off (heh, a pun) in the later 2000's. The easiest fix would be to make the character a bit younger or to push back when she started these things. Additionally, concerning the drones, the market isn't something to make a fortune in, much less to expand, and government contracts would undoubtedly be going through larger military corporations. Perhaps find another technology to work with? Networking. Data storage. Etc. Things possibly relevant to her experience with Google.

Biography:
Leon was born into the Byrne family on a stormy summer night in Norfolk, Virginia. The family, already consisting of his mother, father, two elder female siblings and family dog were well off enough to afford a sizable home and most luxuries that many were never privileged too. His father worked for a construction company and a promotion to a head office managerial position necessitated the families relocation from Norfolk to St Charles, Illinois, this occurred whilst Leon was still quite young and so he adjusted well into his new abode and was at the age where he was ready to start Pre-school, one for 'privileged' children anyhow.

Even at a young age it was apparent that Leon was different from most of the other children, his reclusive nature was simply dismissed as child like shyness and that with time he would see a change, yet never did. Whilst all the other children were playing in the sandbox with toys, Leon was more content to sit alone and pull them apart, much to the chagrin of his parents and carers. Leon didn't make many friends growing up either, only friends of family and acquaintances from around the neighborhood, his social interaction was minimized and he spent much of his time either tearing things apart around the house or reading (even if he couldn't make sense of the words), it took a while before his parents noticed that his behavior patterns were abnormal and were slow to notice he was gifted.

Leon found a niche in his pre-teen years in building remote control model cars, sometimes even repairing others for a small amount of spending cash on the side which he would use to buy parts and tools, he made a workshop from his parents garage and branched out from RC toys to miniature robotics and fixing various electronic items. Leon practically lived in the workshop when he wasn't at school or on otherwise non-voluntary activities, he set up a PC system and between builds he would host LAN tournaments with the small friendship group he found. Come high school he was practically running a small business out of his parents garage, repairing old stereos, tv sets, cell phones, mp3 players and much more. When it came to education, Leon was miles above the rest and was enrolled in multiple high achievers initiatives, took part in multiple robotics tournaments representing the countries most well respected educational establishments.

In college he switched his focus to less hardware oriented engineering, and more software based. Programming languages were second nature to him and within a couple of months he was well versed in several assembly and machine languages, his College Degree was in Software Engineering and right out of college he was offered a placement by a home security firm based in Chicago as a chief software designer, his starting salary alone meant that he could afford a decent apartment in the semi-decent area of town. His parents were within driving distance for visits and the town offered fresh and new opportunities for an aspiring individual, whilst Leon was apprehensive about the hustle and bustle of city life, he was sure it was something that would fade naturally with time. Leon lived for several months in Chicago before the incident and was almost killed during riots that ensued whilst trying to escape the city, which he never managed. The U.S Armed Forces established a quarantine and were shooting to kill, whether people were infected or not, Leon decided to weather out the storm in the safety of his apartment but was shocked to find upon returning that it had been burned to the ground, a few items were salvageable and he gathered what he could from nearby stores, scraping together whatever had been left behind by the looters.

Leon now faces a decision. Escape Chicago and try to find his family among the panic and destruction left behind? Or remain and hope that help eventually finds its way to him?

Biography: Nathan was born in Chicago to a real estate agent and a Air National Guard officer, leaving him without a father figure for large swaths of time, and with his mother regularly absent. Always a rather nonathletic kid, his capacity to learn was hampered by the bullying he received throughout his life, initially in elementary and middle school seeing it as people simply disliking him, to highschool where his stress eating got the best of him. His teenage mind rejected the role of what he was supposed to be, by both his bullies and his father.

So he turned to what he considered a masculine etiquette, becoming well spoken, kind, embroiled with the looks and style of when chivalry was still considered alive, being smarter than his bullies instead of being stronger. He fell into the pit of becoming a neckbeard, one he has still yet to fully climb his way out of. His life didn't improve by a lot, but at least he had some kind of measure to say 'I'm better'. Though his stress eating had become less of a stress response and more of a habit, having ballooned up to an excess of 300 pounds.

When the apocalypse struck he just so happened to be at home, browsing the internet like he always did in his off time. But now he's long since abandoned the lifestyle he once had, but not it's ideals. The time of restricted food has lowered his body's weight, but he still remains insulin resistant, and with the life he's lead up until this point, he may have a long way to go, or a short life to live.

Her father was a high-ranked government official, at one point between her teenagehood and college years, while her mother was a socialite and a fashion designer. She was the youngest from three siblings. Her eldest brother was a soldier, while her elder sister was a doctor. So yeah, a lot of pressures in her family. She went through schools relatively good, though she showed an excellence and hobby in technology. She appreciated the hobby and able to joined a robotic competition in Taiwan.

Her college years was more passive, though she indicated that she wanted to be independent and not working for someone else or in a corporation not owned by her. After college, though, she rebounded to Google as a programmer and in her spare time, as photographers. Her programming work proved to be crucial as she innovated the foundation of advanced compression algorithm which makes data storage easier and kickstarts the enter of commercial data usage.

Taiwan government put a contract to Google for military use, and although she didn't like the idea as they specifically chose her to be the team leader, she obliged nonetheless. But the contract put her on a list of HVT because of her importance in tech development, and after an incident of data leak and being assaulted, she decided she need to stepped up her game. She got herself a firearms training and put more money on bodyguards. She also realized she needed a time of relaxation and with her family pressures on her to marry someone, she obliged. At this point, she felt increasingly pressured and not enjoying her life in Taiwan. A string of failed dates hampered her efforts.

She was 27 when she met her soon-to-be husband, a Major in the military, army. They enjoyed each other's presences. Soon, she returned to Google branch in Chicago, seeing it as a place of safety for her and her boyfriend also agreed, since he was also discharged and turned in Chicago, working as security contractor for Atlas Corporation. Even she got a contract for Google with Atlas'. However, immediately not long after her boyfriend proposed on her and she accepted, he was recalled back for service as the first day of Outbreak began. She was left inside Chicago and her family's attempts to get her back to Taiwan failed. She fled to her penthouse but it was clear that the containment was a failure. She huddled inside for safety, though when the entire city collapsed, she realized she had no choice but to get out from her safe place and to get on two objectives:

2. Get out from Chicago.

• Tobacco Addiction: Austin has been using chewing tobacco since the early days of high school. Before the outbreak, he never found any real issues with it. However, now that things as basic as food are scarce, finding chewing tobacco is practically out of the question. Knowing this, he has cut back drastically on his use, but the withdrawals often leave him irritated and occasionally finds sleep difficult to achieve.

Austin and his friends were rushed to the hospital, but it appeared that it was too late. Two of his friends had died before they could reach the overcrowded hospital, and the other one was showing rapid signs of mental degradation as any sign of his former personality was replaced by what could only be described as a monster. For Austin, however, the worst he received was a mild fever that lasted only for a few hours. With others awaiting treatment, Austin was essentially kicked out and told to await for orders from the government.

It was then when everything seemed to go to shit all at once. Infected individuals began attacking people on the streets, the survivors looting and killing each other as they tried to make it through the hell hole that Chicago had become. Austin was forced to defend himself on several occasions from both parties, finding that his physical strength and endurance had somehow increased exponentially. Without this, he doubted he would've made it through.

Biography: Born in Arlington Heights, Illinois Aaron was a rambunctious child who always ran into trouble. Socially skilled, his general disregard for school rules, and expectations often landed him in a hot bed of trouble, and many detentions. Despite this he was at least academically gifted. His parents wanted him to commit to something, so in an attempt to get their eldest son organized, they forced him to take piano. He took to it like a moth to a flame and enjoyed the praise it garnered him to he stuck with it, even dabbling with singing to add to the performance. Often times when he wasn't doing school work, or causing trouble he was playing the piano or practicing his vocals. At home he often had his part of the chores relegated to his younger siblings in secret, in exchange he gave the younger Hikowa children sweets and colour pencils, taking advantage of their interest in arts and crafts and childish tendencies.

In High School he actually bothered to follow the rules but made it a point to use any loop hole he could find in school policy. He was naturally part of the school choir and band as well as part of the school baseball team. The former because of his singing and musical talent, and the latter because being part of the baseball team netted him browny points with the faculty. The sport at first didn't give him much in terms of enjoyment but the recognition it gave him provided him with a reason to enjoy the sport. Not really thinking of the future, he chose whatever courses were available with little idea of what to do in the future. Again despite the lack of interest in his school subjects he did remarkably well for someone unmotivated.

After High School he moved to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago's Environmental & Urban studies program where he committed to a four year program. Again he didn't really know what he was doing, just that he had to get a degree. In his eyes the diploma was just a symbol of one's ability to commit to something. A show of devotion, and nothing more. Most people didn't get jobs in their field of study so why should he bother with planning out a meticulous life plan? After browsing through city job ads he chose to be part of the city sanitation staff. $70k/year on top of numerous benefits. Not the most illustrious of jobs, it paid well and it shut up his parents who were constantly nagging him. While the job was dissatisfying to them, the obvious material benefit could not be disregarded.

He worked as part of the city's sanitation staff for six good years without incident until the quarantine. Outbreak be damned but he continued his job one way or another. While his fellow cleaners fled, or fell he continued to clean up the streets. He had no family in the city, and most of his friends were missing. He didn't have a plan but he'd sooner spit on his certifications before he'd let the infected take him. Until he had a better plan he was going to clean these streets for as long as he could. One body at a time.

For his equipment it would probably be whatever you carry normally plus whatever you've scavenged since the start of the outbreak (keeping in mind that Chicago was more-or-less functioning until about Day 7). Why does he dislike Communism? And you should probably go into some depth for anything that comes across as vague. Such as what parts of Conservatism does he dislike? What do you mean by "Bird?" Biography: D or Dietrich as he was once called, was born in Berlin, Germany at Sankt Marie Hospital on December 30th, 1994. Dietrich and his family moved to the United States in May of 2004 for career reasons. Dietrichs parents both worked in the medical profession and had transferred hospitals to work in higher levels of administration. So the young Dietrich was enrolled in a Chicago school. Dietrich has always been considered a rather shy individual during his youth. Unlike his three siblings who proved to be quite gregarious individuals. Instead Dietrich focused his energies in the sphere of martial arts. Practicing judo and swordplay at the local dojo when he was 11 years old.

When Dietrich turned 14 he began to work 'under the table' for a local artisan that specialized in leather working and metallurgy. Smithing arms and armor for anachronistic or historical institutions as a side job. Thus the young Dietrich was also taken in as an apprentice due to his keen interest in such endeavors. He learned how to forge, mold, and decor various metals as the years passed. On top of being an above average student, something he became adept at, but at a lack for a social life. Truth be told no small amount of bullying was directed at Dietrich for his 'loser' status. A more than likely psychological source for his anti-social behavior.

After doing early college at MIT and graduating High school as valedictorian he was snatched up by DARPA. Working as a lowly lab assistant in biology and pathogenic research located on the shores of Lake Michigan. However, when the outbreak occurred things more or less went off the deep end. DARPA began emergency testing of human subjects to try and find a cure or other applications for the virus. Such as experimentation on Dietrich. Injected with half a dozen cocktails of the virus in serum form. Dietrich was altered. Feverish and having virulent hemorrhage throughout is organs it seemed like he was going to perish. Entering into a coma just before everything went tits up at the DARPA lab. He might as well have. For the man, if you could say it, that emerged from the testing laboratory was not Dietrich. Amnesiac save for his skill sets he had learned prior, taking his name from a smudged vial that only bore a single legible letter: D.

D did not immediately flee the lab however. He stayed and remembering only his skills that he could not explain gaining. He fastened himself body armor from stockpiled materials in the DARPA facility. Working himself a weapon and arming himself from the few weapons left in the arsenal locker on a desolate sub-level of the abandoned facility. Finally, once the food ran out, D left heading South. Towards the direction of Chicago. Along the way picking up a that he found wandering the side of the road among abandoned cars and towns.

Personality: Prior to the outbreak, Angela was an outgoing speaker and activist. She loved leading large groups, whether it be within her congregation or in leading a social gathering. A strong woman of faith, she believed strongly in God and his work in the world, and shared her faith with those around her wherever she went. As a result of her upbringing by her father, she is relatively cautious in close personal relations, and generally keeps few friends outside of her professional or activist lifestyle, and remained extremely guarded to everyone except those she trusted deeply.

Since the outbreak, as a result of her infection, her knowledge has expanded rapidly as her mental capacity broadened. She has become more analytical and even colder than before, being more withdrawn and not willing to take leadership in groups. She is also more eccentric, going on flights of fancy when her mind wondered to it, often losing herself in thought if left to her own devices. While her outward demeanor is cold and withdrawn, she still holds onto, deep down, the same love she felt for others all her life. With the passing of his wife, Angela's father spared no expense taking care of her, making sure she always had what she needed and getting what he can for her, and was largely as pampered as she could be.

This course changed when the store was robbed, and her father shot in the lower spine, rendering his legs immobile and leaving him in a wheelchair. Angela saw her father go from being the loving and trusting father he was to a very distrusting and paranoid man, obsessed with protecting his business and Angela. He invested in firearms, and taught Angela how to use them regularly in self defense. Further, he began obsessing over his daughters schoolwork and studies, wanting her to do better and live a better life. This sharp personality shift left a scar on Angela, who turned towards religion to cope. She began regularly attending the closest Church to her, being the Episcopal Church.

She was able to achieve a scholarship from her academic work and, with the strong urging of her father, attended a nearby university to become a nurse. Two years into her study, Angela grew miserable and misanthropic, disdaining her chosen study. After soul searching, she dropped out of her program to join a seminary. This greatly angered her father, and the relationship never fully healed. She became an ordained priest of the Episcopal Church at 24.

With her strained relationship with her father, Angela decided to move away from home. With the Episcopal Church, she traveled to Chicago where the diocese there placed her as priest of the Fourth Episcopal Church. She practiced her priestly duties at the church till the outbreak.

When the outbreak began, she and the other priests met at the Diocese of Chicago to discuss how to best help in their capacities. It was at this meeting that Angela was infected, as the infected stormed the diocese and she barely escaped with her own life. She returned to her church, hoping to secure it and the congregation. Along the way, she was attacked by a ruffian hoping to take whatever he could off of her. The apocalypse makes people do crazy things. She was held at gun point, until an infected came from behind the man and killed him. Angela's survival instinct kicked in, and she grabbed the gun and shot the infected. She realized she needed what the man had, bullets and more sensible leather jacket. She made her way back to the church and secured it against the incoming hordes as much as possible.

As for the firearms training, that's why I simply included it as "family-taught," as I wanted to imply that it was something she was taught informally, and has no real training on it. I've included basic to further emphasize that, she is no marksman but knows how to correctly aim a handgun, clean it out, ect.

Samantha Tallow is the only daughter of a wealthy English family. Born deaf and, as a result, mute, her childhood was challenging at times but otherwise relatively normal. While capable of applying herself intellectually, Samantha was truly more at home on the field as opposed to the classroom, being a longtime member of her school's track and field team. She has also played football (soccer) and was briefly a stand-in for the softball team. Despite her disability Samantha has excelled in sports and has overcome many obstacles that would otherwise keep her sidelined. Outside of athletics she has few close friends. Communication is difficult, thus leading to a lack of interest on her part. Shyness notwithstanding, Samantha is an upbeat girl with a mostly positive outlook on life.

Her father, Colin Tallow, is the CFO of the European division of Atlas Corporation, headquartered in London, United Kingdom, and is frequently away on business. Samantha often joins him when school is not in secession, having been to America on several occasions, as well as France, Germany, Canada, and South Korea. Arriving in Chicago shortly before the outbreak, she and her father were trapped in the United States due to the travel restrictions and later quarantine. Fortunately, they were spared much of the anarchy, Samantha especially as she was purposely kept uninformed of the goings-on beyond the hotel, the two of them safe in downtown Chicago alongside a multitude of other Atlas VIP's and protected by both the United States National Guard and, more closely, the Atlas Security Division personnel. Samantha was largely oblivious of the severity of the situation, the riots being an odd commotion that was easily ignored. By Day 13, Atlas begins the process of evacuating VIP's but efforts are largely hampered by the ongoing quarantine. Two days later the quarantine fails and the United States military shifts its focus towards self-preservation. Samantha, her father, and a few others are shuttled by car to Midway International Airport, however, they never arrive, being forced to divert due to traffic and ultimately caught unaware by the Infected.

Abandoned, it was her father's guidance and unwavering optimism that allowed them to survive even as infection tore across the nation unchecked. The situation was grim, but Samantha remained hopeful so long as she was with her father. The two stayed put initially, not risking the chance in going out to seek help, assuming wrongly that help would come to them, but with few supplies on-hand there was no choice but to move on, to the airport at first, but later to escape the city entirely. They wouldn't make it far before being separated by a group of Infected. That was three days ago. Alone, the girl continues on towards their planned meeting spot, determined to find her missing father.
