Prime Minister Signs FTA with the Panjalis and More.
August 5th, 2020

Today, Prime Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Khaliq signed a Free Trade Agreement with the Panjalis. What this does is reduces the tariffs on Panjali products and allows more imports from the country. The tariffs will be lowered to 3%, compared to the original 8%. Panjali countries will be immune to the import quota set on Mashriq's neighbors in 1998, this was set in place to protect Mashriqi businesses. This move was made by the Prime Minister to "grow better relations between Mashriq and her neighbors to the east." When asked if he was planning to add an open borders policy to the agreement, Mohammad did not answer and continued on with the conference.

In other news, CEO Muntadhar Al-Zaidi of Muntadhar's Shoes and Things. Was recently detained after pelting a local Baghdad shop owner with 6 pairs of shoes, all held in a mesh bag that Al-Zaidi was carrying that day. All charges were dropped and Al-Zaidi was released.

The dissolution of titles

Greetings Prussiaholm. After some discussion in Parliament and with my advisors, I have made the decision to dissolve all minor titles in Prussiaholm. I'm talking primarily about all the titles of King, Duke, Count and Baron. These titles have acted as administrative boundaries for some time. This simply isn't good enough for modern and great nation like Prussiaholm.

All the titles except for King of Zealmark will be dissolved as long as this Kingdom reigns.

Instead of the country being divided into Duchies and the like, Prussiaholm will be divided by "States". These states will include:
the State of Brandenburg-Saxony
the State of Pommerland
the State of Norway
the State of Upper-Sweden
the State of Lower Sweden
the State of Jutland
the State of Sjaelland
the State of Silesia
the State of Prussia

Islands that do not belong to these states will be direct properties of the Krieger Family.

Each electorate belongs to a state and is represented in parliament as normal. However, each state will have Ministerpräsident, which has higher power than an Elected Member of Parliament.

This just in that our fabulous Empire has now been given authorization from Songjang to police the area above. Any and all vessels are now required to follow the sea empire laws and regulations within the borders.

In addition, the area below is now to be considered a restricted area. No ship or vessel for any reason, that be even life or death, is allowed to enter this area without permission. Any ship inside for any reason will be exhorted out, by force if necessary. The island itself is to be considered classified, top secret, and copyrighted in every sense of the definition by The Sea Empire. Any and all photographs of any kind will be met with the entire weight of The Sea Empire. The Sea Empire wants to ask that all satellite imagery blur out this island beyond recognition or use a picture before this classification change in public and private releases for international security reasons. Anyone caught taking pictures in Songjang or the Sea Empire will be prosecuted to the fullest degree. This area is also a no-fly zone. Any aircraft overhead will be exhorted, even if it means bringing the UFO down by force.

Headquarters of "The Independent" raided by state agents

The Independent's national headquarters

The Boston headquarters of The Independent, a news publication which styles itself as "non-partisan and anti-corruption", were raided by unmarked state officials today.

The small building in west Boston was surrounded by black police vehicles and the perimeter was closed off; shortly afterwards, a dozen or so masked and armored officers without any identifying insignia stormed the office.

During the raid, several gunshots were fired, and while reporters were not allowed on the scene, several eyewitnesses say that the officials exited the headquarters with papers, computers, handcuffed workers and a few bodybags.

The Union Ministry of the Interior refused to comment on the matter. Additionally, during the raid, the Boston Police Department's scanner radio was entirely silent.

The raid comes a few days after The Independent announced over Twitter that they had obtained several documents that purported that government ministers had been taking bribes from foreign governments.

The claims, which are not confirmed, follow in a similar pattern to the publishing patterns of The Independent in the past. The publication is famous for publishing controversial pieces such as "The Case for New English Liberation" and "The Afrikaner Bloodbath", which used unreliable sources to report supposed crimes committed by previous administrations.

Last night, the two artists kicked off their new north American tour, fittingly called "Klan," with a show in Caspia in which they "brought the house down," according to one concert-goer. The city of Caspia was abuzz with excitement and enthusiasm this morning, with the topic of the day undoubtedly being the concert. The next stop in the group's tour is Warsh, Worris. Sources say that the Warsh show has already sold out, proving that the "Warbeast Fever" is not just in Caspia.

The tour comes after high tensions between the NGU and Panjal hit it's climax when several Panjali Navy ships were sunk off the coast of the NGU during a blockade. Some political analysts have predicted the tour was a strategically planned event to help cool tensions between the countries along with the recently signed Economic Cooperation Agreement, but when asked about this by a reporter, Secretary Singh responded, saying "Big cats don't care for the music. This art comes from here, real shit." Singh then proceeded to poke the reporter in the chest.

Kapadia, Vankovich announce "Asian Economic Area" - 09/15/2020

During a diplomatic meeting in Stoyabrovka between Panjali Premier Vinod Kapadia and Ubizytotskan PM Ivan Vankovich, the two made a joint statement in which they announced the creation of the "Asian Economic Area," or AEA. The AEA is a formal agreement between Ubizytotska and Panjal which provides and ensures free movement of goods, services, and people between the two countries. This means all border checkpoints between the two countries will be disbanded, and any current tariffs removed. The leaders also made a note that other countries may possibly be brought in on the agreement in the future.

The agreement comes recently after the "Economic Cooperation Agreement," which was an effort made by Panjali Premier Kapadia to relieve economic tensions in the global community. Kapadia has openly discussed with the press that he aims to take a more diplomatic approach to stabilisation, after the blockade of the NGU ended in disaster.

After the King's recent dissolution of titles act in Prussiaholm, states were formed to replace them and make the country make the country more democratic (The Ministerprasident is an elected position) and elections to decide that position will take place in November. Parties are campaigning hard and remember to register to vote.

King August made an address today calling for a Global Summit in Berlin later this year, specifically in November or December. He made this statement:
"With the world as tumultuous as it is, a global summit is what we need. Countries need to get together and discuss the issues that are impacting our entire world. Countries that are interested in participating should respond via state address or tweet. The official name of this will be called the 2020 Global Summit."
The global summit shows how King August is upholding his promise to maintaining global peace.

Military Reform and Funding

Last night the People's Congress passed a funding program that will fund and expand the military to a sustainable level. During the war, the army swelled to contain over 120,000 men. This bill will make this active troop count vastly more sustainable. Erich Heinstadt, a veteran officer from the Hertlz Brigade, was appointed by First-Premier Strasser to oversee the passage of the program in the People's Congress. The United Noxtremian People's Party voted unanimously in support of the measure, which strengthens the navy, provides funding for a basic air-force, and centralizes all army branches under the National Volksheer. VSA forces operating within the military are being retrained at the army facility in Frankfurt (called Soldatsplatz) for the purpose of serving in a permanent officers corp. The army also wishes to further standardize its equipment and tactics.

Today Minister Beomann signaled that he wanted to work on pushing imports out on Noxtrem. Beomann is highly regarded for his successful "Beomann Plan" which bolstered consumer goods production, and finished the nationalization of Noxtrem's heavy industry. The Industrieausschuss is currently looking for methods of cheaper auto production and exportation.

Union Parliament passes Veteran Affairs Reform Act

After plenty of debate, the Veteran Affairs Reform Act of 2020 (VARA2020) was given assent by His Excellent Majesty The Leader after being passed in the National Assembly and the Senate.

The VARA2020 provides veterans who have deployed in combat with new access to medical services, employment opportunities, and tax benefits. The bill also requires employers to give precedence to combat veterans in the hiring process, making an effort to reduce the high unemployment rate of veterans.

Additionally, the VARA2020 grants tax relief to the mothers of veterans who had honorably died or permanently disabled on the line of duty.

Another provision of the bill grants reduced tuition to all combat veterans, requiring that universities cap tuition and fees at $20,000/year for combat veterans.

One of the more popular parts of the VARA2020 is the Veteran Discount Program, where if businesses grant discounts to combat veterans and mothers of deceased or disabled veterans, they will receive a tax credit for some of the lost revenue by doing so.

Following the passage of the bill, Prime Minister Alfred Herbert Page appointed Willem York to head the Union Ministry for Veterans Affairs.

"I am dedicated to serving the veterans who have given everything for their country," York said during his appointment ceremony, "and I will work to my fullest to ensure that the sons of the Union who have fought and died finally receive the help they deserve."

Ralph Schultes, leader of the Popular Liberal Democratic Party, criticized the Prime Minister and his administration for taking so long.

"The Christian Right has been in power for so long, I'm honestly surprised that it took so long to pass something like this," Schultes said in a Q&A livestream. "I mean, I'm glad that our veterans are getting the aide they need, but the Christian Right is very, very slow."

Bermuda Accords signed, Kaapbond becomes independent

Following a meeting of a delegation from the mainland Nationalist Gold Union and the Kaapbond, the Bermuda Accords were signed and the Afrikaner, Rhodesia, Suidwes, and Southeast Bantu Free States became independent in the form of an independent Kaapbond.

The accords, which deal with separation of government offices, ownership of businesses, nationalized industry, citizenship, and a boatload of small details, officialize the terms of separation of the Kaapbond from the Nationalist Gold Union.

Across the Nationalist Gold Union were mixed reactions towards the issue of separation. The Christian Right, which has always had a policy of anti-separationism, seemed to have betrayed its base by letting 4 territories go and break away freely without any armed insurrection.

However, others in the party support the move, considering the billions and billions of dollars in state funds that have been spent in the past decades keeping Africa within the empire. With the focus off of Africa, there will be more spending and resources focused on the mainland.

Senators and National Assemblymen from the Kaapbond states will lose their seats as the Kaapbond breaks off. The only cabinet member from the Kaapbond, economic minister Nqobani Yengwayo Johnson of the Afrikaner Free State, will be replaced with Reed Xu.

BREAKING - Hundreds dead including APSIA ambassadors after deadly Svallbard storm

A microburst and thunderstorm left hundreds of citizens and APSIA personnel dead and thousands wounded in Reykjavik, Svallbard today. NGU Ambassador Donald Cohen is among the dead.

During a meeting of several ambassadors today, a thunderstorm broke out and a microburst, (an intense small-scale downdraft), targeted the city and the APSIA headquarters. During the microburst, the ceiling of the assembly room collapsed on the ambassadors. Among the dead are Donald Cohen (NGU), Manuel Feinstein (Prisalia), Achmad Qayyum (Mashriq), and Tony Guan (Worris).

The Nationalist Gold Union offered condolences to the dead but the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered the Svallbardian government to investigate why there was a failure to identify such a deadly storm ahead of time.

No replacement has been announced for Donald Cohen at this time.

Shi'ites Protest in Baghdad
November 7th, 2020.

Recently, multiple Shia Muslim groups have taken to the streets of Baghdad just outside the Royal Palace. The groups made it clear they were there to protest the Sunni Monarchy. Sunni and Shia often peacefully clash seeing as the western half of the country is predominantly Sunni while the eastern half is mostly Shia. They claimed to began planning the protests at least 2 months ago. The protesters were relatively peaceful and moderate, but at the center of the march were a group of radical Anti-Monarchists that supported the insurgent group, Al-Thawra, they fought against the Mashriqi Monarchy in an attempt to create an Islamic Republic. Al-Thawra was eventually defeated and flushed from the country in 1981. The group gaining traction and supporters in younger citizens is a terrifying thing, the Al-Thawra caused the death of 150,000 people during the war. Baghdad Police were sent in after protesters began throwing rocks and soda bottles at news reporters. The protesters threw rocks at police before being surrounded and arrested, 113 people were arrested and charged with assault, intent to injure and battery of an officer. This protest sends a chilling reminder to the survivors of the civil war.

Continuation of the Falcon Project
PISS HQ

Due to the Informarian Branch of the Sol Initiative collapsing, the sole project which had been in development there, the "Falcon" Project, is now managed by PISS and the SI. The research and design done the by Informarian branch is largely incomplete and mostly useless, possibly due to incompetent team which worked on the project.

With this, PISS has made a few updates and tweaks to the Falcon Project. Designs for the Falcon 1 aim to be finished by summer of 2021. A prototype is to be developed and tested shortly after. The delay in design completion comes due to the fact that nearly all designs which were created by the Informarian branch have been discarded due to the inclusion of features which are only possible in science fiction.

Autopsy Report

The corpse found in Monfragüe has been identified as Lucas Cavaco, a 30 year old male who had gone missing 2 weeks prior. The corpse was heavily mutilated, with scratches on the face, a shattered left forearm, a missing right foot, a dislocated right shoulder, and several bruises on his body. His intestines, liver, and other organs had been removed in an unsurgical fashion, suggesting that animals had feasted on his body. His hands had cuts and bruises, suggesting that he put up a fight. Decomposition hadn't taken its toll yet. Currently, we do not know what killed him.
