Can I watch that trailer if I haven't seen Infinity War? I've been a bit suspicious of stuff lately... I was sitting around the corner and overheard what sounded a lot like someone having gone to watch it....

The trailer's spoiler-free, though there are probably spoilers in the comments.

Most MCU movies simply use villains as an opposition force for the hero, the films are usually hero-centric. Nothing wrong with that but I completely agree, I would say Loki is the last time I really felt anything for a villain in a Marvel film. Unless you count Magneto in the X-Men movies, but sadly those are not MCU.

How feel you now, in the wake of Infinity War?

For the MCU i would rate them:
Awesome: Thanos
Very good: Vulture, Grand Master (he would be a villain right? Also its geoff fucking goldblum, he was amazing)
Good: Hella (Or Hela?) Ultron and Loki. (Zemo i think im in the minority in liking him)
Okay/meh: All the Ironman villains (Stane i thought was the best, but ive not watched iron man 1 in fucking ages) Malekith was wasted a lot, could have had more done. Red Skull,
I cant fucking remember the others off the top of my head lol
I cant say anything about Killmonger as i have yet to still watch black panther, but i heard people really liked him.

I agree with all your rankings, and I would put Killmonger in the awesome category.

Good list. I'd throw Loki into "very good".
Grand Master didn't feel like a villain, I'd label him as an "antagonist by circumstance".
Please, someone correct me if my observations below are unfair or otherwise incorrect or misrepresentative.
Spoiler Alert: KillmongerI wouldn't put him at the top spot. He's definitely tragic and interesting, but his motivations don't seem to line up
In my opinion and seem to jump around.
He's T'Challa's cousin and wants to usurp him (Seeing himself as the rightful king). And then he wants attack those he calls "the colonizers".
1. Wakanda was never colonized, as was explicitly stated. In fact the isolationist state is in East Africa(The Atlantic
Slave Trade was mainly focused in West Africa.) so how has he been personally effected? How does he empathize with Non-Wakandan Africans?
This is like an Italian ultranationalist ranting on the hardships the Finns have suffered. Why? Wouldn't be in-character according to what we think we know about the character?
Could it be because those thoughts weren't his own, but we're just indoctrination from his father?
2. Or does he not believe in this at all and is using his father's mission as a cover for (As Tony Stark puts it) "good old fashioned revenge" on the nation that killed his father by twisting it into the antithesis of its former self and putting it on a path of self-destruction?
Lots to think about...
