1. What is the age limit for marriage? 16 if the matrimony is consensual amongst the fiancé and fiancée and/or parents; 18+ requires no bilateral or unilateral consent
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? Divorce is legal but because Granluras is a patriarchal society it is commonplace for men to receive more remuneration in a divorce, unless it can be empirically proven that the husband was abusive.
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? Matrimony laws, especially same-sex marriage laws, are one of the few laws provinces are allowed to decide on their own. As a result the status of same-sex marriage by province is currently this:
  • Pontevedra: Legal
  • Ourense: Legal with limitations (gay couples cant adopted unless they have a license, in 2009 a long debated law was passed which made PDAs illegal resulted in a rise in incarceration amongst (specifically) homosexual Ourensàno, etc)
  • La Coruña: Legal
  • Lugo: Legal, but adoption is highly regulated and there is some restriction in the labour market (although because it is nationally illegal for provincial legislation to restrict the labor market Lugo’s restriction comes in the form of an indirect promotion of discrimination)
  • Asturias (east and west): Legal despite the fact Asturians are very socially conservative; only exception is the adoption and adaption of Ourense’s anti-PDA law in 2013 (although it is used lest discriminatorily than in Ourense)
  • Zamora: Illegal as a result of its larger rural and conservative population and conservative-raised urban population
  • León: Left to comarcas:
    • Sajagûn: Illegal
    • Tierras de León: Marriage is illegal but domestic partnerships are permitted
    • Páramo: Legal
    • Bañeza: Legal
    • Astorga: Legal but are required to register themselves as homosexual; this has lead to controversial discrimination
    • El Bierzo: Legal with some variations on a municipal level
    • La Montaña de la Luña: Illegal but if a couple/individual were to be an expatriate, dual citizen, or from another province or comarca which permits same-sex marriage they’d be left alone
    • Cabrera: Legal
    • Esla Campos: Legal
  • Valladolid: Legal
  • Palencia (north and south): Permission of civil unions or matrimony is left to comarcal judiciaries, as of 2018 half of these judiciaries permit, to a certain degree, civil unions or matrimony to homosexual couples while the other half are more harsh
  • Burgos: Legal
  • Merindades: Legal
  • Arlanza: Changes with incumbent provincial administration; current one is split but usually permits it
  • Basque provinces: All allow civil unions and domestic partnerships but marriage is yet to be legalized
  • Navarro: Illegal except in the comarcas of Pirínee and Noroeste
  • La Rioja: Marriage is permitted but adoption isn’t allowed, as a result La Rioja’s homosexual populace relocates frequently to provinces which do and cause the La Riojan provincial legislature to become apathetic about LGBT rights which creates a cycle of rights stagnation.
  • Soria: Previously Illegal, legislation is currently being debated to decided whether or not to entirely or partially legalize same-sex marriage
  • Almazán: Domestic partnerships are the only unions currently allowed; civil unions are currently being Independently pursued by some comarcal councils
  • Província de Riaño: Follows some path as Tierras de León
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? Yes but not severely, unless premarital (or even underaged) pregnancy stems from it.
5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? Accepting.
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Most Granlurasians, due to a high literacy rate and common above average education, are aware of the worthlessness of diamonds and propose with either nothing or something of actual value (like a gold ring or platinum ring). Women aren’t prohibited to propose by law but Granlurasian society tends to prefer the man to propose.
7. Is parental approval needed? See one.
8. Who takes the last name? Usually the girl but sometimes the fiancé can take the fiancée’s surname or no surname replacement occurs at all.
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? Weddings are considered familial events so usually the extended family plus some friends come, but even then there are usually over thirty participants.
10. Are wedding expensive? As stated in 9 weddings are considered very important, private, familial events and do not require the rambunctiousness of American-style weddings. As a result not much is spent on weddings and the average wedding cost is 26,220 Pedrosan ($11,400).
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? The usual (suit and gown)
12. Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? Church or city hall
Churches and other theistic institutions play a purely ceremonial and symbolic role in irreligious Granluras. There is no sanctity or holy matrimony in weddings, even if performed at a church.

13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? Church
14. What sort of music is usually played? Himno de Novia, Balada Recén Casada, and a slightly altered version of the Wedding March are commonly used.
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? Script:
  • Minister: Do thou, ____, take ____ to be thou lawfully wedded wife? Do thou oblige thyself to eternal fidelity and support? Do thou accepteth all burdens, all miracles, all consequences of thou matrimony?
  • Bridegroom: I do.
  • Minister (to the bride): Do thou, ____, take ____ to be thou lawfully wedded husband, too? Do thou oblige thyself to eternal fidelity and support, too? Do thou accepteth all burdens, all miracles, all consequences of thou matrimony, too?
  • Bride: I do.
  • Minister: With ye now bound in matrimony, ye can seal your love, adoration, and union through a finalizing kiss.
  • The newlyweds then kiss, proceed to sign a marriage certificate, and are now legally, symbolically, and emotionally bound.
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Afterparties are common but there is no separation based on gender. Bachelor nor bachelorette parties occur in Granluras as they are considered breaches of fidelity
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Good ones?
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? Yes
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Of course
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? The Basque Country, a complex of provinces belonging to the Basque ethnicity, is the only region of a Granluras with a child number limit as a result of its overpopulation, that number is two children. Everywhere else there is no limit.
22. Is your leader married? Yes
23. What is a common pickup line? after having slapped ass “That’s one way I’ll make your ass red.” (This isn’t a pickup line in my nation as much as one I use irl)

1. What is the age limit for marriage? 19, when you legally become an adult
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? Divorce is legal, but is very much frowned upon especially if there are children involved. Splitting apart the nuclear family is much like splitting the atom as in it is destructive and affects the growth of a child.
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? It is legal, and the populace does not care because it does not affect them
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? Legal, but frowned upon. Sex is an intimate thing that really should only happen between two loving individuals
5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? An extremely important event in one's life and the foundation of society. For the country to be strong the family units must be strong.
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Proposing is typically done by the man, but either one can propose. Usually the woman is presented with a silver crown that will be worn to the marriage.
7. Is parental approval needed? Traditionally and culturally expected, and enforced by families, but no official law states this.
8. Who takes the last name? The wife takes the last name of her husband
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? Depends on the couple
10. Are wedding expensive? Aside from the silver crown, not usually. However the royal wedding will be a grand occasion when it eventually happens
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? The Groom wears an all black suit with a white tie, and the bride wears a white dress, the silver proposal crown, and a black shirt. The colours symbolize the balance and the differences between partners as well as how they are both close to each other's hearts. Black and white are also the national colours which symbolize power and purity respectively which also is important to the ceremony
12. Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? Usually on the couple's property. If the couple does not own a house, there are public spaces that are rented.
13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? Wherever the couple chooses
14. What sort of music is usually played? Typically classical, for that traditional feeling
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? The official asks the couple to exchange their vows, then the official asks if they accept each other as husband and wife. After that they kiss. Adherents of Déaþscúan have their hands tied together with a circle of rope before the "I do" part of the ceremony starts, to signify their unending loyalty to each other.
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Not common. When the ceremony is over guests usually return home and leave the newlyweds to consummate their marriage.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties? N/A
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Loyal, dutiful, and stoic
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? Bonding primarily, then kids. Strictly for pleasure isn't very moral
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Yes. Rapists proven beyond a reasonable doubt are castrated then sent to the mines
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? 3 is the max to prevent overcrowding
22. Is your leader married? Not yet :/
23. What is a common pickup line? "Your eyes are as beautiful as the Convarian rain in the summer"

1. What is the age limit for marriage? Legally: 16, but for people under 19, there is a longer waiting period. (Socially, most get married around 22-28).
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? Divorce is legal, because the government is very permissive on social issues. However, as King Alexander says, "Marriage should be for life, and divorce should be a last resort."
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? It is legal and is treated no differently than heterosexual marriage.
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? It is looked at as a personal decision.
5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? Positive, but marriage is looked at as a life-long commitment, like one has finally "found their soulmate".
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Women may propose. Usually proposal is done without anything (no rings), to symbolize the insignificance of physical objects compared to love.
7. Is parental approval needed? No, and most men don't ask the bride's father. Doing so is frowned upon, because it is a way of implying that the bride can't make her own decisions. Parents are usually permissive of whoever their child marries, as long as the person is kind, loving, and the couple hasn't rushed into marriage.
8. Who takes the last name? It depends, usually the woman takes the man's last name, but that is just out of tradition, not because of any law.
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? A wedding here usually is a two-part ceremony. First is the actual wedding, which occurs usually on one of several hills in the rainforest, looking out over the island. This part is reserved for the couple and close friends and family. After that, the group moves to the beach, to meet a larger group, and there is a massive party.
10. Are wedding expensive? No, because things like catering and clothing aren't a big deal. The couple wears regular clothing, and usually has a beach restaurant cater. All locations used are usually national park areas or beaches, which means that the couple books them through the government.
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? Regular, casual clothing. Wedding dresses and tuxes are frowned upon.
12.  Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? See #10, most weddings have both a party and private part.
13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? see above
14. What sort of music is usually played? Romantic, slow pop songs that can be danced to for the private ceremony. At the party, loud, fast party songs.
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? They read their own vows, and yes they do kiss.
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Yes, and they are not separated by gender.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties? It is usually more slow-paced, to unwind from the beach party. The people will go to a restaurant or a house. At the end, the couple leaves for a honeymoon.
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Kind, gentle, honest, faithful, thoughtful.
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? It is for whatever you want it to be for. Usually for fun and bonding, but sometimes to make children.
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Yes, everyone has the right to say no to sex. However, married couples usually treat each other with respect so this is not a big issue here.
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? No, we don't operate that way! However, the average is 1.2 children per couple. A lot of couples don't have kids, the ones that do usually have 1 or 2, very few have 3 or more.
22. Is your leader married? No
23. What is a common pickup line? We don't use pickup lines, we find genuine compliments work better.

13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? Private weddings are usually held at a local registry office or, if the couple happens to be religious, a Hellenist Temple.
14. What sort of music is usually played? Music is not normally played.
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? The partners are expected to swear vows of their own creation, allowing their marriage to fit their will. Kissing is the norm.
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Afterparties are common and are not separated by gender.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties? There are no norms for afterparties, although almost all involve consuming alcohol.
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? It is impossible to generalise a nation of over 400 million on this matter - it varies from person to person, although the majority are respectful of their partner.
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? Mainly for pleasure and bonding.
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Yes.
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? There are no limits on the number of children one can have.
22. Is your leader married? Yes, she has a husband.
23. What is a common pickup line? There are no common pickup lines, as pickup lines are not part of the Polyspastonian culture.

1. What is the age limit for marriage? 12--the age of adulthood.
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? Yes, but it's only considered a last resort option.
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? It's not recognized by Zarahosh and cannot occur in our country. Homosexuality is viewed pretty negatively by our people.
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? It's not encouraged, but it's not illegal. Still, it doesn't occur very often. Sex simply outside of marriage is more common than simply sex before marriage, but we are not a sexualized nation.
5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? Very positive. It's something that is suited for most people, though not for everyone. There's no legal or true social pressure that pushes people towards marriage.
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Both partners propose at the same time in a private setting. It features an exchange of rings between the parties, and the partners make a covenant with God. It's initiated by the girl, but if the guy is not ready, it's humiliating. The "engagement" period then lasts from the covenant to the time when the marriage ceremony can be held.
7. Is parental approval needed? No.
8. Who takes the last name? That's a discussion for the couple. Staistically, it tends to be about 55/45, in favor of taking the girl's last name.
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? Depends on the couple.
10. Are wedding expensive? They're as expensive or as cheap as the couples want to make them.
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? The traditional Western marriage apparel. Unlike the West, though, the clothes should ideally be worn again. We're not wasteful.
12. Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? As weddings are a responsibility of the Church, not the government, all weddings are performed (and by Catholic provisions)--unless a waiver has been granted by the Catholic Church (and approved by the owner of the property where it would be performed)--in a church.
13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? See above.
14. What sort of music is usually played? Church music.
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? The wedding is the typical Catholic wedding Mass, so it's like that. Yes, there's a kiss after the priest signs the marriage document and pronounces them husband and wife (which is at the end of Mass).
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Yes, and no.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties? That's up the couple.
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Romantic, but also rational. Relationships are slow, structured, and full of formalities; there is no "love at first sight."
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? Both.
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? There's no distinction between rape and rape-in-marriage. Rape is rape.
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? No.
22. Is your leader married? Yes.
23. What is a common pickup line? N/A, as there are no "pickups." To say a pickup line to someone is to essentially call them a whore, which will just get you slapped as hard possible.

1. What is the age limit for marriage? Civil majority, so 20.
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? The progressive population of Capucinn supports the right to divorce in all circumstances, thanks to a valued support of women's rights.
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? Almost a third of Capucænn identify as homosexual, and half of all marriages are homosexual. Again, Capucænn are very progressive and support LGBT equality.
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? Progressive, so it's legal and not frowned upon since everybody does it (the major religion, Yånnism, doesn't condemn it so everybody does it)

5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? They generally think it's too restrictive as they tend to be a bit promiscuous and free with their lives. However, married people are respected for being very loyal and faithful with their soulmate.
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Nature being a symbol of the soul in Capucinn, people often propose on mountains or in forests. Traditionally, the man carves a bear or another Yånnian symbol out of amber and gives it to her. Again, the people of Capucinn are quite progressive so the woman proposes almost as often as the man.
7. Is parental approval needed? Absolutely not.
8. Who takes the last name? It really depends. Most people nowadays append their mate's name to theirs, but the man often takes the woman's name. It has occurred on several occasions for couples to actually exchange last names.
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? They're often pretty private but there is also often a very large celebration in the neighborhood, so both I'd say.
10. Are wedding expensive? Not really, since most people produce their food and the clothing isn't very refined.
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? It really depends x)
12. Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? The party is often organized by neighbors and takes place in the nearest public park or forest.
13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? They most often take place in the parent's home.
14. What sort of music is usually played? Marriage being folkloric, the music is often folk. (also, they really like the Revivalists)
15. How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? They often hug for a very long time, and then the guests often join in carrying them to the party's place.
16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? They're very uncommon.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties?

18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Very passionate and affectionate. They really take care of their mate but they tend to be a bit promiscuous in some cases.
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? They're really progressive ;) so for pleasure and bonding too.
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Of course! In that case, the offender is sentenced to a lifetime of Seclusion and Community Service (the worst penalty in Capucænn law).
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? No legal limits but 3 is generally the limit de facto.
22. Is your leader married? No! Secretary Narmesen is currently in a soul bond but he is not married and does not really plan to.
23. What is a common pickup line? "I am lost in your eyes like Yggdrasil in the Evergreen", in reference to the genesis myth of Capucinn's major religion, Yånnism where the Bear-God Yggdrasil is lost in a forest and decides to make the junipers that surround him his friends.
Did you know democratic communism exists? It's called socialism. Vote for it.

What is the age of consent for marriage? : 16

Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? : Yes. Widows and divorcees alike are pitied for having lost something many fellow countrymen consider quite special.

Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? : Yes, we love the gays.
Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? : Yes. It is not frowned upon like that. Though Vivans do caution people not to jump into action too quickly. Vivans are untrusting when it comes to sex and matters of the heart so giving yourself away to someone is considered a very risky thing in Vivan culture.

What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? : Rational, statistical, and so by sheer logic, they are rightfully pessimistic (aka realistic). Vivan's view marriage as most likely to be a temporary thing rather than something forever. The odds of finding someone worthy are astronomical when it comes to Vivans. People are encouraged to marry for reproduction to keep the country from dying, and maybe for more practical reasons such as economic factors. But Vivans in general do not get hung up on the whole idea of forever. Vivans are very picky when it comes to partners and are fiercely individualistic, not being obsessed with the idea of NEEDING somebody else to give meaning to their own lives.

How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose : In private, being put on the spot in a public place is a humiliating encounter for any Vivan so public proposals are heavily frowned upon. Vivans honestly dont even really HAVE proposals so much as proposals kind of happen. Vivans kind of just start living together, working things out in terms of details and feelings. Proposals don't happen in single instances so much as they do in steps. You start living together, meeting eachother's families, saying whether or not it will be a poly relationship, sleeping together, things like that. Vivans are a rare type of people in that people don't really have weddings so much as official witnessing ceremony of paperwork. Most Vivans kind of count signing all that dreaded paperwork together. The closest things to an "I do" in Vivan culture is when the final signature in all the paperwork is done. Weddings in the way most of you are thinking don't happen so much as to seal the bond but rather just as a way for festive relations to celebrate newfound economic ties or whatever other things the families gain from the marriage AFTER the paperwork has been signed and approved by the government. The night the spouses first make love is in a way a Vivan marraige, for some aforementioned reasons. A Vivan couple can have many "weddings" all around the clock. To Vivans, a wedding is more a special moment one shares together that is special and significant to the spouses. So when a Vivan couple has a baby or buys their dream house, this in Vivan culture is a wedding. And yes. Women are allowed to propose.

Is parental approval needed? : Nay. It is nice to have family approval and most Vivans who love their parents will always do their best to listen to their family's opinion, but no. It isn't needed. Quite the opposite really. Vivans are fiercely independent and such freedom loving people would never stand for such monumental changes being subject to such silly things like "approval" and "permission"

Who takes the last name : Neither or both. Hyphenation is common. Various schools of thought are adhered to. Sometimes if the marriage is based on things like wealth and status the poorer spouse takes the prestigious partner's last name. Some Vivans even create brand new last names just after marriage, symbolizing a new dynasty or family, both spouses taking an entirely new symbolic last name.

Are weddings private or large parties? Both? : Private. Large parties are for a minority of people. Large showings are considered mostly for the vain and is heavily frowned upon in Vivan culture.

Are weddings expensive? : It doesn't have to cost a dang thing. It's mostly the vain or the celebrating family members that do the whole party thing. Festive weddings are a rarity.

What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? : Most people just wear casual clothes like jeans. It's just paperwork after all. There's a minority of people who do the whole western white gown and tuxedos thing.

Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? : Expensive places for the partying minority. For most people all that is required is that all the witnesses can see what's going on and move around a enough. Alcohol is almost never served to the official witnesses or the spouses. Why would you impair your ability to sign the paperwork? Since paperwork is long and ardourous there might be snacks around for people to take eating breaks. The spouses get bored and hungry signing the boring stuff. But all food breaks are held a safe distance away from where all the actual signing is to be done, no use in smudging or spilling any food on the paperwork.

What sort of music is usually played? : None at most. Too distracting, at least while the signing is going on. Sometimes the spouses will step away from the signing table and go relax to some soothing music just to get them through the monotony of it all. Many Vivans favor meditation music to give them the patience needed to get through it. You will often see whole "weddings" full of people listening to Enya in their pajamas meditating. It would look more akin to a meditation retreat room than a wedding.

How is the ("I Do") ceremony played out? Do they kiss? : The spouses often share a hug and perhaps a quick kiss with eachother just being so glad to be rid of all that paperwork.

Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? : No. Not common.

What kind of lovers are YN's people? : Cautious ones, but very expressive when love DOES strike. They are the uber romantic in a cheesy Disney sort of way where they will sing love songs under your balcony. They are fiercely individualistic but they WILL cry if thing go bad. Vivans feel their emotions quite deeply. Very KINKY people too. My goodness these people are little demons.

Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? : As mentioned before, Vivans aren't very quick to trust so that aspect has kept sex in the realm of reproduction and LOVE. Though quite contradictory, despite this Vivans as mentioned are very fiercely freedom loving so they have absolutely no qualms on all sorts of crazy debauchery. The Empire is not a very conservative or religious place so you can imagine that a very liberty-loving secular group of people who see no problems with polyamory can occasionally indulge in a fair bit of shameless piggery. As a consequence, despite how chaste most of Vivan society is, there is a small minority of people that have no issues with a sexual free for all. Monogamy being a western Christian ideal, it is not held special in the Empire. Chastity through religious indoctrination is virtually nonexistent so there really is no reason for Vivans to NOT be pleasure seekers except for their untrusting nature.

Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? :
Yes.

Are there limits to how many children they can have? : Yes. There's only so much food and other resources to go around so if you can't provide for them without unduly detracting from somebody else's survival, say hello to an abortion.

Is your leader married? : Yes

1. What is the age limit for marriage? 18 Years.
2. Is divorce legal? After becoming a widow? If yes, in what way is it treated by citizens? Divorce is legal, and is allowed for any reason. People usually only get divorced in serious situations though.
3. Is homosexual marriage legal? If yes, how is it treated by citizens? Yes. Same sex couples are treated like any other couples, partially because our citizens are tolerant of LGBT people, and partly because the government imprisons homophobes.
4. Is sex before marriage legal? Frowned upon? Legal, but mildly frowned upon.
5. What is your country's people's attitude towards marriage? Our people take it pretty seriously.
6. How do they propose? With what? Are women allowed to propose? Whoever proposes gives the other partner a ring. If he or she accepts, they get married. Proposals are done by men around two thirds of the time.
7. Is parental approval needed? No.
8. Who takes the last name? Usually women take men's last names, but men will take their wife's last name if their wife is of higher status than they are. Same sex couples usually have one person taking their spouse's last name.
9. Are weddings private or large parties? Both? Usually private, though large parties are common for celebrities and members of the upper class.
10. Are wedding expensive? No. The government provides up to $10,000 for the cost of the wedding.
11. What do the spouses wear at their wedding day? Both partners usually wear tuxedos, though women will sometimes wear a wedding dress.
12. Where are party weddings held (if you said yes)? Churches or other religious buildings.
13. Where are private weddings held (if you said yes)? City halls or county courthouses.

16. Are afterparties common? Are they separated by gender or not? Afterparties are not common.
17. If yes, what is done at afterparties? No unified custom exists.
18. What kind of lovers are YN's people? Very devoted. We have one of the lowest divorce rates among nations with similar divorce laws.
19. Is sexual activity strictly for making children or also for pleasure and bonding? It's considered to be for any of these purposes. Especially bonding.
20. Is rape recognized in marriage as a crime? Yes. It's actually considered a more serious crime than other types of rape, and is punishable by life in prison. The marriage is also immediately nullified and the rape victim gets all of the rapist's property regardless of what would happen in a normal divorce.
21. Are there limits to how many children they can have? No, though they must be capable of caring for all their children.
22. Is your leader married? Yes, but it's a loveless political marriage and they aren't even compatible sexual orientations. (The Emperor is asexual, his wife is a lesbian) Their children are conceived by in vitro fertilization because they can't stand the thought of having sex with each other.
23. What is a common pickup line? "I... uh... would you... maybe... er... want to... go on a date with me?"
