The Balkan Front

Postby Serbiagrad » Fri Apr 20, 2018 8:59 pm

Lines of men march from their villages, some waving back at their families, maybe for the last time. The draft was rather unnecessary, since most of the Serbian men signed up the moment the homeland was threatened. A single overseer, a cigar dangling from his mouth, supervises the whole operation. He turns to a man in a neat suit next to him. The 2 are almost comically different, one a tall, slender man in a neat, pressed suit, the other a stocky, disgruntled man in a never-washed standard issue uniform. "Ya reckon this is all necessary? Those damned Arizonians av'nt even deployed men yet" says the stocky man, chewing the end of his cigar. The line steadily progresses, supplies, men, and beasts of burden sauntering along to the mountains. "You know damn well this is all necessary Colonel" Says the well kempt man in the suit. "Those Arizonians don't back down once they've claimed an area, no matter how ludicrous the claim. If we don't mobilize now, those Arizonians will be over us like shingles.". The Colonel grunts, turns and leaves, bellowing orders at a few stragglers. The well kempt man pulls a phone from his coat pocket and hastily dials a number. "What is it this time?" says the shaky voice from the phone. "The men are ready. Are supply chains prepared for планина рат?"
"All affairs are in order, i expect this war to be quick and painless."
"You know damn well a war with Arizona won't be quick or painless chancellor"
"We can hope"
The last of the men march slowly towards the mountain, a steady breeze at their backs.
Shots ring from the mountains, birds take flight from every tree in the woodland.

The Slavinoskian soldiers were a sight to be seen, or rather, not to be seen. Their well-pressed white uniforms and Ushankas made them nearly impossible to see in the bitter winter. War was more of a way of life to the Slavinoskians than a hardship. The people were tried by fire in many wars before, growing from the ashes every time they were razed. Their army was almost their entire population, even women learning how to take up arms during an occupation. The invasion was only an invasion in name, the Belarussians much preferred a government of like-minded people than that of the Arizonians.

A barely visible tent at the crest of a hill holds a meeting. "I sure hope those damned Arizonians don't declare until we can fully fortify Belarussia." says a first military advisor, in a slightly crumpled, still neat looking uniform. "Either way, we should prepare. Most of the Arizonian men are conscripts, so don't even want to fight in this war. Standard attrition procedure I say, feign retreat, and ambush, again and again till the cold kills them." Says a stone-faced general, with almost too many commemorations over his right breast to see his actual breast pocket. The hetman rises. "We know the real objective of this war gentlemen..." says the mustachioed, harsh figure of the Hetman. "Remember lads, we are to take Warszawa at any cost." he almost spits at the generals and advisors. "They expect the primary fronts to be in Belarussia and Serbia, so I see a blitzkrieg into Poland as viable, the problem will be holding the acquired land against their absurd manpower and GDP." says the stone-faced man, a complexion akin to curiosity almost crossing his face. "I intend to keep it, do believe me. If the league intervenes, we fight a dirty war. If not, standard procedure." The men walk in a single file line out of the tent. The Hetman remains. He takes a long, deep breath, and leaves the tent. The men turn to face his single figure at the hill.

"Men, at the ready, we march to......."

Balkan War

Postby South-West Arizona » Sat Apr 21, 2018 8:00 am

President Gagliano walks on stage," We shall not let a weak country get our land! We shall not let a weak country threaten us! I am a leader for all peoples Arabs, Mexicans, Europeans, Africans, you name it! Serbiagrad doesn't know our optimism. Serbiagrad doesn't know our true power! Lets teach what these damn Arizonans can do!" The crowd erupts with cheers. "I have deployed 100 million men to the Balkans. We will come out victorious!" 100 million men have been deployed to the Balkans.

"Men huddle up. We shall fortify the hearts of our country Berlin, Gagliano del Capo, and Warsaw. We need advantages in the sky and our navy needs to be on alert at all times. We can't attack them, they have no land. We are on the defense on this one boys. I am not trying to comfort you. You and your friends might die today, tomorrow, or 10 years from now. Fight for your country, fight for the Balkans freedom!"

The Balkan Front

Postby Serbiagrad » Sat Apr 21, 2018 10:31 am

The Arizonian column marches along the mountain path. The column progresses, slowly, and assuredly. The neat, professional column marches with pride, ready to crush the feeble resistance from Serbiagrad.

Shots ring from the back of the column

Men at the front stop, and look back. The commander grimaces, and pulls out a pair of binoculars. He looks to the back of the column, and his scoff turns into horror. Men in the column are dropping, the cluster rushing to cover, fire from the trees turns the path into a swath of blood. The man next to the commander drops, a bloody mass where his head once was. The dead, everywhere. Men rush to sling rifles off their shoulders, crazily firing into trees, anywhere where sound or movement is. The sounds stop as soon as they begin.

The commander looks back at his battalion, at least half are dead.
The bodies look as though they fell from the sky, in impossible positions, some with looks of confusion and pain.
"Find those filthy Serbs!" he screams. Men run into the forest, and the gunfire resumes.

The Hetman moves into the camera's view. Cameras flash every direction, eager to see the Hetman's decree. The crowd screams questions at him, all eager to learn the fate of their nation.

The Hetman lifts his hand, and the crowd goes silent.

"The Arizonians enforce their rule on a people who despise them. In their decree, they give their reason for conquest only that they are stronger than their foe. The tyrants of that nation must learn, if the hard way. No Slavic people's could tolerate this regime, and we must unite under a banner of solidarity. Arizona, I understand your struggle, but there are ways other than an aggressive expansion to accomplish your means.

Let my people go!

I speak for those too weak to speak for themselves, I am the voice of the silent.

Let my people free!

My people call for salvation, and I will honor the call.

My people are children of freedom, in the Balkans, and Poland. Let us free, or this beautiful land will be soured by the blood of patriots and tyrants!

The imperialism exhibited by SW Arizona could not be tolerated by any reasonable peoples! I call upon the league to rise to defend the free people's of our Earth, to rise in the name of the silent, and crush the oppressor.

Warsaw stirs, the Balkans boil, and yet the Arizonians are undeterred. They will gladly throw away the lives of hundreds of thousands of their conquered peoples, who they draft and force against their will to fight for their own oppressor.

The will of the governed should determine their ruler, not the strength of arms. Slavinosky calls upon our people living in exile in the lands of Poland to rise against the oppressor!

Let freedom ring from the Urals, let it ring in the Balkans, let the corpses of their oppressors line the path to freedom!"

The Hetman turns from the microphone, and leaves the reporters in shocked silence.

A handful of foreign legionnaires are deployed to train the Serbs.

Slavinoskian foreign infantry wait by the border on the Balkans. A shocked lookout spots a movement of Arizonians, and desperately fire a telegram telling them that any man crossing the border will be shot.

There is no reply

The men chamber their rifles and man the anti-tank guns.

The turkey shoot begins

The Eastern Front

Postby Slavinosky » Sat Apr 21, 2018 6:54 pm

At the port of Gdansk, vessels line the dock, some military and some merchant. Warships crest the horizon. Lookout U-boats seem to have been scuttled or destroyed by the insightful Slavinoskian attackers. Artillery hammers the ships in the dock, the proud Arizonian navy reduced to rubble. The outdated, unprepared Arizonian vessels are devastated.

The warships disappear as fast as they came, the Arizonian navy reduced to nothing in a matter of hours.

The Slavinoskians hail the capital of Arizona
"Your naval capacity has been destroyed, and your ports blockaded. Any foreign powers who attempt to intervene with material OR direct aid will have their vessels destroyed. Let the world know the naval might of our nation"

Shots ring from the distance, merchant vessels falling victim to the Slavinoskian U-Boats

Lesson Learned

Postby South-West Arizona » Sat Apr 21, 2018 7:40 pm

President Gagliano sits down at a press meeting. "I have learned from the Balkan War and the Polish War. Thousands of navy ships and men have died from the Slavinoskian U-Boats. This has brought a new era. An era of army, navy, and air force advancements. The people of South-West Arizona's lives have changed. They realize the true vision of war. Slavinoskians are a capable people. With a very capable military and navy. We are breaking down their U-boats and ships and adding things from their U-boats to our own ships. This war has woken a sleeping giant. We will make many more ships and place them in the Baltic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean Sea. Our old navy was understaffed and old, we are working on upgrading our navy and ships. We are on THREATCON 3.

The Kazan invasion

Postby Slavinosky » Tue Apr 24, 2018 7:42 pm

After successful occupation, the Slavinoskian invaders found themselves quickly under attack by the Capital AL's men, who had waited til the last minute to declare war.

Slavinoskian infantrymen bunkered into the hillsides and foothills of Kazakhstan, and braced for the onslaught.

Less than a day of brutal fighting, and they pulled back into neighboring uzbekistan, where a similar battle was fought.

Sheer manpower and stronger supply lines lead to a swift win for the Capital AL, but at a heavy cost, as the invasion had been confused and disorganized, and with little prior knowledge of the terrain.

Nonetheless, Slavinosky's Kazan army had been pushed into neighboring countries, the day was Capital AL's.

Slavinioskian losses:

Slavinoskian Infantry losses: 123 Killed or missing, 480 wounded
Slavinoskian Sabotage losses: 14 killed or missing, none wounded.
Slavinoskian anti-missile air: no planes shot down
Slavinoskian Air Force: 2 Planes shot down
Slavinoskian Artillery losses: 9 towed, 14 tanks, 33 transports, and 1 stationary artillery lost.
Slavinoskian Support personnel: 1 Killed, 3 Wounded

EST total Capital AL forces lost:

Capital AL infantry losses: 1400 killed, wounded or missing. 22 POWS
Capital AL anti-missile air: no planes shot down
Capital AL air Force: ~27 Planes shot down (19 confirmed)
Capital AL Artillery losses: <30 tanks, <50 transports, unknown stationary and towed losses.
Capital AL support personnel: Unknown, estimated negligible.

IF NUMBERS ARE INACCRAUTE SEND CENSUS DATA

Central Africa

Postby Slavinosky » Wed Apr 25, 2018 4:54 pm

The Slavinoskians had gained a world reputation as fair, but with a certain sternness that begged respect.

The invasion had been swift and relatively easy, with resistance being limited to a few nationalist groups, and with local government cooperating easily in exchange for positions in the new government.

The newly annexed states representatives group before the Hetman Jan CLXXXIII Sobieski, as he gives his adress to his new citizens.

"We, Slavinosky have much to offer you and your people.
As new, fully participating Slavinoskians, you will be treated with the same rights and privelages as our people in the homeland. The rule under our government will be benevolent, and bring prosperity to all our peoples, native, and newly recognized citizens.

Our people look forward to a bright future of cooperation and prosperity."

The Mediterranean front

Postby Slavinosky » Thu Apr 26, 2018 5:03 pm

Occupation had been more difficult in the mediterranean than anticipated, with Slavinoskian Marines not being used to the warmer climates and the amphibeous warfare, but the invasion still went as planned.

The peoples of Crete, Malta, Corsica, Cyprus, and the Isle of Man had come under swift occupation by Slavinoskian armed forces, and now began integration into the new empire.

The African Front

Postby Slavinosky » Thu Apr 26, 2018 7:24 pm

Slavinoskian troops swiftly occupied Cameroon, Nigeria, and Equitorial Guinea and Gabon. The Slavinoskians heard of Capital AL's claim, and burrowed in. Disguising tank guns as houses, digging artillery into hillsides, and turning the nation into a fortress. The land had swiftly become a rigid network of dugouts, traps, and pillboxes.

Soldiers prepared for invasion, training local men to fight the invaders, and readying anti-Air guns.

Nigeria would be a hard battle for Capital AL's forces with a strong Slavinoskian presence in Central Africa established.

The Ratistanian front

Postby Slavinosky » Fri Apr 27, 2018 6:08 pm

Slavinoskian soldiers had never seen such appalling poverty. The warzones looked no worse than normal villages, and the people starved. For a nation with such high production, it was a wonder its people lived like this. The tiny Aristocratic government had little military strength, and private militias and terrorists offered most of the resistance to the advance. The death toll had gotten high as terrorists often time slaughtered civilians in response to Slavinoskian advance.

Military deaths had been rather low, but civilian casualties were truly horrifying. Entire villages had been executed by retreating terrorist militants, and the worst part was that Slavinosky could do nothing once they reached the deep parts of Ratistan.

Campaign report summary:

Slavinoskian military deaths)
Infantry and foot guard: 309 dead, 3587 wounded, 11+ missing
Heavy armored divisions: 11 tanks destroyed, 38 damaged
Light armor divisions: 89 AFVs destroyed, 141 transports
Artillery: 23 Towed Artillery destroyed, 33 Howitzers destroyed
Missiles: 33 Missiles fired, none shot down (SARMATT, STILETTO models)
Air force: No planes shot down
Air defense: No air defense lost

Ratistanian casualties: EST.

Infantry and footguard: ~500 Military deaths, 2000+ wounded, 900+ POWs
Heavy armored divisions: 79 tanks destroyed, 11 damaged
Light armored divisons: ~100 AFVs destroyed, 80 Transports destroyed
Artillery: None deployed
Missiles: 2 fired, both launches destroyed by air defense
Air force: 11 planes shot down
Air defense: none deployed

A day in America JB

Postby America JB » Tue May 01, 2018 7:12 am

It is a windy and chilly day in the capital of America JB. The President get's to his desk and calls for a joint meeting with his cabinet, the President would like to discuss alliances and national security. The cabinet arrives and the President is no where to be found in the meeting room of the cabinet. 20 minutes have passed and still no President to be found in the room, the cabinet is about to get worried when out of no where the President walks into the room greeting them, the President says he apologizes for the inconvenience. The President sits down with a wall of papers to go over and the cabinet looks like they will be in session for a while. The President is ready to get to work to create a direction for his administration ahead of the elections that will take place very soon. While the meeting is going on, another type of meeting is occurring. The Presidents chief legislative adviser has made his way to the general assembly to meet with the speaker of the House who strongly opposes the President and his agenda.

The meeting with the cabinet has ended after 5 hours of debate and work with his cabinet. The President get's a call from the governor of Texas and the Governor wants to invite the President to a meeting on how they are going to pass legislation to lower the unemployment rate in the nation. The President agrees to the meeting and schedules to take a trip to the state capital of Texas. While that is happening, the Senate votes on a measure to cut taxes in a comprehensive tax bill in which would improve the economy and possible create more jobs. The President after learning about this gets a document together to summarize the bill and bring it with him to the meeting with the Governor of Texas.

invasion of Kazakhstan

Postby Slavinosky » Wed May 02, 2018 7:45 pm

Kazakhstani ambassadors had blatantly insulted Slavinosky.

Believing their nation to be under protection by their allies, they had provoked war with slavinosky by harboring extremists. Kazakhstani diplomats expelled Slavinoskian diplomats unprovoked, and froze Slavinoskian assets for no reason other than pride.

War had come to Kazakhstan

Planes cut the sky, tanks tore the ground, and men shredded the Kazakhstani lines, death followed the advancing Slavinoskian army. Shells pelted the earth, the scream of gunpowder barely audible over the screams of men.

Hundreds of feet marched to the silent beat of rifle fire, steadily advancing against the unprepared Kazakhstani military.

With bayonets fixed Slavinoskian soldiers tramped through Astrana, swiftly gutting or shooting any resistance. The inner city had been turned into a fortress, but the bureaucrats were sheepish, and complied for a chance at survival.

The siege was over, but Slavinosky hadn't finished the job.

Aftermath of Kazakhstan

Postby Slavinosky » Wed May 02, 2018 7:51 pm

"Guilty" said a stone faced judge, knowing what he'd sentenced these men to, but utterly indifferent.

Sweat ran down the Kazakhstani presidents face.

Him and 500 other officers, bureaucrats, and executives had been found guilty of conspiracy with the Hujamideen, and sentenced to death.

Men with horror stricken faces were dragged from their chairs, unable to move themselves out of sheer terror.

Men, hands bound and blindfolded were pressed against a ruined city wall. Soldiers about 10 yards away loaded and raised weapons.

"Present"

Snapping from rifles being chambered and raised echoed across the courtyard

"Aim"

The prisoners squinted through their blindfolds

Birds take flight from the trees as shots ring out

Most of Canada praised and publicly welcomed Britain as rows of redcoats with rifles and the occasional British flag every tenth row marches through the streets of Ottawa. Just right next to the observers are Quebecois protesters with more firearms and signs poking fun at Canada and Britian. They shout for more autonomy and even independence for Quebec, fearing Paleothon would not respect their rights otherwise. As the protests grow more fierce, observers start to demand they leave. The protesters refuse, and violently threaten them to leave the streets. As the violence between both sides increases, the marchers begin to load their rifles and bayonets. Screaming and arguing is eventually met with gun shots, followed by redcoats firing at the unpredictable crowds of observers and protesters brawling and trampling each other.

The protests end 13 hours after the marches began. There were a total of 51 casualties on the Quebecois side, 34 on the observers' side, and 3 redcoats. Wounded people included 122 Quebecois, 79 observers, and 44 redcoats. Approximately 4000 protestors and 534 observers were arrested by police and military forces. Several weeks following the event, hundreds of families came in the same city mourning for their loved ones, whether protester or observer. Even in this time of mourning, a group of 6 heavily armed Quebecois fired upon the observers' families. The Paleothonian military stopped the violence and arrested the shooters. These shooters had killed an additional 43 observers, one of which was an infant born to a previously killed father in the march.

While the protests are conrtolled, the military of Paleothon advises citizens and outsiders to stay cautious of future protests. The Paleothonian Parliament is yet to decide action on the situation.

Ukraine

Postby Slavinosky » Thu May 03, 2018 8:07 pm

The Ukraine was the backwater of Europe, badly in need of effective leadership, ripe with crime, and full of unemployment.

The Ukrainian government without war had decided to allow an annexation.

"Hetman.... these terms i find cruel and disappointing, but i am really in no position to negotiate." said a tired and rough looking Ukrainian official, who the Hetman hadn't bothered to learn the name of.

"Rather than complaining about the terms you should be thanking us for taking your husk of a nation under our wing despite the enourmous costs of building infrastructure." barked a Slavinoskian general, with a ironed tracksuit, standing at perfect attention.

"Just agree to the terms and I will instate you as the regional leader of the Ukraine, and in return Ukraine is to be annexed, and you are to answer to me." said the Hetman is a quiet, but commanding voice.

The Hetmans words had brought the previously noisy room to a full silence, all that could be heard was the scratching of pen on the agreement, as man by man signed the paper.

"Now lets clean up this dump of a region" the Hetman said under his breath to his shadow, the Major General.

The man next to him grinned
"Gallows will be seeing a lot of business today"

The Hetman let his face curve into the emulation of a smile
"Do what you must to restore order here. This wretched land won't miss criminals and corrupt politicians, but if you get too much innocent blood on your hands, well there will be hell to pay."

"Understood Hetman...."

The general began barking orders at his subordinates, the purge had begun.

invading syria

Postby Old Ratistan » Thu May 03, 2018 8:29 pm

The invasion of Syria wasn't so much an invasion as it was a huge mess.

Ratistanian "troops" and mercenaries tramped through cities and villages, killing "armed" villagers and looting cities.

The Syrian minister eventually decided to stop defending because of the destruction of the infrastructure of Syria, and surrendered.

The Ratistanian soldiers didn't get the memo that the invasion was over and kept rampaging through Syria for another week or so before messages via carrier rats reached them.
