Switch out the FBI meeting in Memphis to a papal meeting in Rome. We've been discussing things, and one church burnt down.

I think what slowed down the roleplay had to do with lack of, maybe impetus is the word? There were characters ready to have various conflicts, but it was hard to see where those conflicts could be kicked off. A reboot could solve that problem perhaps by having a big catastrophic event that starts things rolling (say, the Pope has been shot by one of the sectarians). Another option, something I do with my roleplays but that doesn't necessarily fit for every RP, is to have defined milestones or finish lines. For instance, I had a roleplay where people were trapped in an elevator, and after a certain period of IC time the elevator would explode. Or in a roleplay I'm doing now — Zjuam is a part of it — everything is building up to an election. So these things that are going to definitively end the roleplay drive it while it does exist.

Sure, perhaps. Very few of the climaxes of Christianity ever seriously concluded anything, so we can't really build up to one big thing. Still, the assassination is a good idea. I might think about that.
