The Dynasty is almost all gone, and the MODs are forced to ask for any of the former king's bastards to show up, if only because it may be necessary for one of them to succeed to the throne.

Meanwhile, on the mostly uncharted continent that was hit by the asteroid, something interesting is taking place. A small settlement has sprung up, not belonging to any other nation. They come from one of the empires, and they are tired of all this constant fighting. Their goal is to become the most technologically advanced. They wish to mostly be alone and to be happy. The town considers expanding to get more land. The city-state of Archivian is founded.

King Nachtbar of the Schönwetter Kingdom falls mysteriously ill, him being an old man now, apparently appointing his nephew, Illimus Nachtbär, as regent in his stead, over his three sons. This has caused much speculation, especially when the regent declared the army disbanded and his personal guard to assume all their previous duties. Meanwhile, Illimus has opened negotiations with the great aunt of the bastard emperor, pledging to support her in case of her deciding to revolt in return for expanding their borders to include several border cities, Lares, Philomen, and Priscia.

The small city-states formed from the remnants of several Barbadian tribes band together to form one great nation, Lumenöffnen. Their leader is a well-respected woman, Gloria Chalker, the former scribe of the king of one of the city-states.

Allesrundes and Springenvögel band together, with the new Duchess Freida marrying the son of von Strücker. Their new empire, simply called Vögel, is comprised of the two great nations and one city-state, which was conquered by Wolfgang von Strücker.

OH NO, ANOTHER ASTEROID!
Just kidding.

On a fine summer morning, somewhere in the fields at Archivian at its borders, an inventor has made a breakthrough. The first airship is born. Although it is clunky, flimsy, and experimental, it is still a fine ship. It can hold up to a crew of 12 and is about the size of a medium sized house. It is a long-range machine. It has 4 ballistas for weapons, but it is meant primarily for exploration. Over several months, it has been flight tested and certified for its first adventure. AAS Surveyor is ready to make history. Enough supplies for a year have been loaded, and a station has been made at the launch site for maintenance. The Surveyor lifts off and heads for the main continent to see how the other empires have changed.

OOC: the fantasy species live to be about 90, while humans live to late 60s...or at 20. Depends if you get lucky in the gene pool i guess.

180 MY: A company of merchants and explorers, along with the family of their top (randomly chosen) employees, are set to board a fleet to search around for a better trade route, due to the continuing threat of blockade from the random angry peasants nearby. About 500 people leave the city of Galapoga (from sovereign Imperial Maxtopia), with no claim of citizenship to any country.

182 MY: The fleet hits a storm in the middle of the sea of ghosts, and four of the nine ships are capsized.

190 MY: the remaining 350 people make land in an island, leagues away from Maxtopia. They land on an uninhabitated island full of exotic fruits, A temporary settlement is built as a smaller group go to search the island, and later the nearby sea.

193 MY: The party of explorers return to the settlement, which has just been completed, to report that there are six more islands nearby, ripe for the taking, and that there is a bigger mainland in the west (Let's assume it's the same continent that meteor hit a few posts ago), and decide to make home here. The Island is named Nogelpogia, a bastardized form of "New Galapoga".

An enormous balloon with wooden sides and propellers attached flies overhead. It is the AAS Surveyor, which has found the empire. The crew notes the location and the ship flies in the direction to the ocean.

Naval scouts sent out by member-states of the Federation come across a strange land populated by a single city. A few months later, a large militant force shows up at the city and demand surrender. The city agrees on the grounds that they want to avoid a slaughter, and Klaus von Strücker, the son of Wolfgang von Strücker, takes their conditions and enslaves all of the city to work in the Vögel's mines.

Assar Barbados grows sick while in his 70s. He begins an instant effort to travel to Ulma Vriska and rags along, despite his age. He amasses an army of 100 men to act as his convoy as he prepares to travel there in hopes they could potentially heal him or extend his life.

203 MY (cont): Barbados reaches Ulma Virska, and the "gods" attempt to heal him with an elixir. It works, and Barbados returns, good as new.
204 MY: The Blackacre Succession movement begins, with violent riots led by Blackacreans starting across the people's region. The Second Maxtopian Civil War begins, and despite Blackacre's small numbers, it's Militia has been intensely trained for war and holds their own against the forces of Maxtopia and Ernraci.

This was the opportunity Nachtbär was waiting for. With Maxtopia in civil war, the Schönwetter army advanced into Maxtopian lands, seizing cities and farms, looting and pillaging as they went.

Early 205 MY:
In an ironic twist, Barbados’ elixir was cursed. Signs of the curse begin to show as immense pain was felt throughout the year in what felt like his tailbone. The elixir may have extended his life for another 20 years, but it is at an immense cost to his humanity...literally.

Mid-205 MY: Barbados begins to abnormally grow hair on his body, and an existing but not noticeable tail bud. Barbados puts two and two together, realizing that the elixir was probably created by a nation to heal an epidemic, but costed them their human traits, turning them into leopard-like psuedo-humans. Barbados slowly cuts off his connection with society.

Late 205 MY: Faelixeus' son, Dimitrius I, is born.
206 MY: The Second Maxtopian Civil War breaks the records of highest fatality rate of any Maxtopian war, at a staggering 60,000,000 and rising. Both Blackacrean and Schönwetter forces approach the capital, and the Battle for Imperius ensues. Maxtopia manages to drive off Schönwetter forces leaving with a path of burned, destroyed, and pillaged towns and cities left to die, but Emperor Faelixeus is killed a hero, protecting his son from enemy forces. Maxtopia raises a burnt, tattered, faded flag of the country. The country surrenders.

The Senate and the chief of Blackacre, Ixiuan, sign a peace treaty that recognizes Takaria, Ernrac, and Blackacre as their own countries but not sovereign states, in a UK-esque style. Maxtopia's Emperor still rules over them all, but not completely. The Maxtopian Reconstruction Period begins, getting into multiple trade routes in an attempt to get enough resources to rebuild the villages Schönwetter pillaged and the capital, along with half of The Maginot Line (again).

Mid-206 MY: Barbados' transformation nears completion.
