School isn't a formal environment. In saying that it's also not an environment where you can just rock on up wearing anything you want. For example, no school would allow someone turning up to school in clothes that were dirty and smelled bad. No school would allow clothing that had graphic material on it or had swastikas or other offensive images and symbols on it. You wouldn't be allowed to turn up to school wearing nothing but strategically placed body glitter. Same goes for "real world" environments who also have dress codes and, contrary to apparently popular belief, for the most part are formal environments. In many instances, appropriate clothing is worn for safety reasons or if that business has a uniform, like McDonald's.Vassenor wrote:TIL a five year old's shoulders are obscene and distracting.
