International Student Program of Laeral

Creating The Next Generation of Global Leaders

The International Student Program of Laeral is a program dedicated to ensuring that the brightest young minds of the world come to Laeral to receive the high-quality education they deserve. Laeral offers one of the most advanced higher education system in the world, and so the Ministry of Education is pleased to announce that international students are now being actively courted to receive the education of their dreams in Laeral. Laeralian colleges and universities are trendsetters and boundary-breakers, working towards nurturing talented people to succeed in the modern world.

Much of today's educational system is oriented towards outdated methods that prepare students for the 19th century, not the 21st. In Laeral, education is meant to prepare students for the world of today and tomorrow. From classes that address the most pressing issues of the world today, to a unique global-focused system that understands the realities of globalization, a Laeralian education holds its relevance when those of other nations have faded. Come see if a Laeralian education is the right fit for you.

A Mission Toward Enlightenment
Image

Laeral- a nation of dynamic possibilities. Laeral is an ideal destination for young scholars because it offers a glimpse into a nation of opportunities and growth. Today's education system is often centered on one nation, while today, workers in every field must understand the realities of our modern globalized system. While other nations offer rote memorization and research, Laeralian higher education offers the chance for students to experience through internships and a welcoming community of scholars.

Laeralian education also works to develop the entire body. All of the universities shown below offer community service programs, to nurture empathy within every student. A Laeralian education is unmatched in its ability to develop the mind. And Laeralian students enjoy the benefits of a healthy, positive lifestyle that works wonders for the body. Come to Laeral for education, and become the better version of yourself you've always wanted to be.

A System Built For Opportunities

Laeral's elite system of National Open Universities (NOU) offers opportunities for the world's finest scholars to excel. The National Open University system is a network of 18 selective, world-class universities, each individually established by government decree. These 18 universities are the jewel of Laeral's education system, and their aim is to turn Laeral's finest students into individuals capable of leading the future. Laeral's finest individuals have emerged from these institutions of learning for over a century, and they have become the people who drive Laeralian innovation. Today, these opportunities are open to international students, so that the best students of foreign nations can share in the benefits of a Laeralian education.

A Culture of Scholarship
Image

No matter what their background, Laeralian students are driven to excel. They're passionate. Collaborative. Inclusive. Scholarly. Laeralian higher education seeks to turn those exceptional students into exceptional citizens of the world. At any NOU, you'll find students who are driven to perfection. Join a study group. Chat with your professors. Lead your peers in student government. It's all up to you.

NOUs have drawn the best students in Laeral for decades. They count Presidents, CEOs, activist leaders, and artists among their alumni. And now, by opening the application process to more foreign students then ever before, the best students in the 'verse can come to Laeral to drink from this well of academic heritage and join their legacy of excellence.

Opportunities as Big as a Nation

National Open Universities are committed to opportunities for every student, regardless of background or net worth. All students are guaranteed an internship every two years, at the very least. National Open University students are first in line for opportunities in government, business, science, and the arts. In fact, many internship programs even have quotas for students from specific prestigious universities. You could intern at Republic House, learning how politics works while exploring the role of the president in Laeralian politics. You could intern at the headquarters of Sunsong, the noted electronic component manufacturer, to learn about Laeral's trade boom in the 1980s and how the most accomplished companies overcome challenges. You could intern with famous calligraphers, to learn how this ancient art form continues in the modern day.

Why pass on the opportunity for a Laeralian education? Apply to attend, or bring Laeralian education to your nation today.

Laeralian International University

Université Internationale Laeralien

絲綢之國國際大學

Laeralian International University, or LIU, was established in 1931 by the revolutionary government of the Republic of Laeral, seeking to develop a social sciences university capable of educating the new nation's diplomats and officials. LIU is located in downtown Laeralsford, the capital of Laeral, a short distance from the numerous opportunities of the cosmopolitan city. In fact, the College of International Affairs is located only a few short blocks from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the ease of access to the capital city's most prestigious internships and jobs. LIU aims to create a curriculum that focuses on the global impacts of every action, and seeks to foster dialogue between peoples of different backgrounds. Since it's opening, LIU has focused on creating a scholarly and inclusive atmosphere. Some of the most notable professors in Laeral teach there, while the university's central location means that it's social sciences students have exclusive and special access to numerous internship opportunities. To counter it's image as a hotbed of intellectual elitism, LIU has introduced stringent community service requirements which include a mandatory semester spent at homeless shelters in Laeralsford. LIU prides itself on its advanced academic programs, prestigious name, and history of notable alumni. Additionally, all LIU students are required to spend at least one semester studying in a foreign university, emphasizing the university's international focus.

Laeralsford Institute of Political Sciences

Institut d'Études Politiques de Laeralsford

拉爾福德政治學院

The venerable Laeralsford Institute of Political Sciences, commonly known as 'Sciences Pol' (not to be confused with the French institution 'Sciences Po', which Sciences Pol was created in imitation of) is a political science-centered university outside of Laeralsford. It was originally founded in 1908 as a private university, following the turmoil of the Worker's Movement, the Laeralian defeat in the First Fellsian Incursion, and of course the abrupt relocation of the Laeralian capital to Laeralsford, while the majority of political science institutions remained in Althea, the former capital. The chaos of the First World War meant that many politicians and staffers were needed to replace those who were dead or had resigned.

Today considered the undisputed foremost political science university in Laeral, and perhaps in the entire International Democratic Union, Sciences Pol counts among its alumni revolutionary leader and future President Réne-Louis Gramont, first President under the Laeralian Constitution Jean-Pierre Brienne, and numerous other presidents, prime ministers, diplomats, and politicians. Sciences Pol guarantees its students two government internships and a study abroad experience by the time they graduate, and a Sciences Pol degree is often considered a ticket to a government position. The curriculum is heavily focused on research and experiences abroad. The university also hosts numerous lecture series for visiting dignitaries, and has an enormous research library available to students at all times. In the numerous teahouses and coffee shops near the campus, you will find students and professors engaged in elaborate intellectual discussion about the latest bill to be voted on in the Assembly of Commons, or the government's fiscal policy, or the impacts of socioeconomic status on voting patterns.

Unlike it's rival, LIU, SciencesPol is located in suburban, rather than downtown, Laeralsford.

Scholarships and Costs

The Laeralian government is committed to providing an affordable education to all Laeralian students. This commitment extends to international students as well. The cost to attend a National Open University includes tuition, housing, dining, book costs, fees, travel, and miscellaneous expenses, but is overall extremely competitive with most national universities, thanks to generous government subsidies given to ensure that these elite institutions remain afloat. NOUs intend to ensure that limited financial resources are not a barrier to a Laeralian education, and many scholarships are available. The cost breakdown for international students attending National Open Universities, given in NSD, are as follows.

Laeralian International University
Tuition: $12,480/year
Numerous scholarships are available to reduce tuition prices, based on academic performance and family income.
Housing: $6,220/year
This cost is for subsidized student housing located on-campus. Laeralsford housing prices are very high, so it is unlikely that cheaper accommodations are available unless the student has family or friends in the city.
Dining: $3,890/year
All students are required to purchase a dining plan for the first year as an LIU student.
Books and Supplies: $450/year
Fees: $1,210/year
Travel: N/A
Miscellaneous: $3,000
Total: NSD$27,250/year

Laeralsford Institute of Political Sciences
Tuition: $15,220/year
Numerous scholarships are available to reduce tuition prices, based on academic performance and family income.
Housing: Housing: $5,620/year
This cost is for subsidized student housing located on-campus.
Dining: $4,480/year
This is the deluxe dining plan, which offers unlimited swipes to enter campus dining halls using the SciencesPol student card, which can be used to pay for meals both at university dining halls and at participating nearby restaurants. Students are not required to purchase a dining plan.
Books and Supplies: $400/year
Fees: $1,160/year
Travel: $0
SciencesPol offers reimbursement for all travel to and from the university before semesters and during break. Speak to the SciencesPol Student Resource Center for details.
