TIL the columbine shooting was the result of a failed bombing plot.

Propane and ball bearings were in the cafeteria, but they failed with the trigger device.

Originally they intended to use the guns to finish off survivors and those attempting to flee.

When the bomb failed, they went with a shooting instead.

When I read that thread, people pointed out that a tank of propane and a few bags of ballbearings are much more lethal than guns.

I was also reminded of the pressure cooker attack on that marathon.

Banning guns won't solve mass killings.

Their plan was to blow the school up and shoot people as they ran out.

If the bombs they placed in the cafeteria had went off with full force a lot more people would have died.

The only two conceivable reason I can think of that somebody would draw such a comparison is to make the opponent seem like a Nazi. Otherwise the statement is trivially true and not worth saying.
