It sounds like it could be an ad that redirects you, although it's odd that it happens on Chrome, which is good at stopping that kind of thing. Which version of Chrome are you running?
Is it possible to copy the URL of the site you land on? Often it has some useful redirection info in it.
Does the site open in a new tab/window or can you navigate back to NS again afterward?
From my brief inspection, Gamiss looks legit, so I tend to think it may be an overly aggressive ad rather than a virus, especially given your anti-virus protection.
The Chrome I use is Version 64.0.3282.186 (Official Build) (64-bit). I would give you the link, but I do not have that available and the ad has not returned yet so I do not have it. It does not open a new tab, for it only uses the tab that NS Forums is located on and I sometimes can go back onto the forums while other times the back button does not work.
