Under mass public pressure, the social media wing of the Devontan State Department (DSP) has officially opened itself up to open questions regarding Devonta and any of its policies towards whatever issue seems fit to a questioning nation. Yes. The Devontan Constitution states all citizens of the republic have a "right to bear arms". This right can been limited and over the years it has been regulated solely by the federal government.

Currently to purchase a gun its a three step process:

(1) 5-day Background Check (no felony or domestic violence convictions)

(2) Mental health check

(3) 8 hour gun safety course (2x courses if getting concealed carry permit)

Civilian use of fully automatic weapons is banned. Also banned from civilian use are bump stocks, suppressors, armored piercing/incendiary rounds, magazines/drums with a capacity of over 35 rounds, and sawed off modifications.

The general public is also banned from purchasing high powered semi-automatic assault weapons like the AR-15 and AR-10. Although, public employees (i.e. teachers, soldiers, police officers, city workers, veterans, etc.) are allowed to purchase said weapons, as a reward for civil service.

The federal government has let the states decide concealed carry policy. Currently it is allowed in 3 of the 10 states. Open-carry is banned by federal law.

Only military councils still have the death penalty as a means of punishment; however, it is rarely used. Only three military service members have been executed by military council rulings since 1978. All three in 2015 for high treason.

Currently Nifon is considered a close strategic ally, especially sense it is one of the biggest suppliers of military arms to Devonta.
