Thomas Amstrad is the President of the Imperial Republic of Nunavutialand, a massive and powerful nation located on the northern continent of Asamm (changed my continent's name). Amstrad is a 35 year old politician from the Liberal Party, which holds 314 of the 397 seats in the Parliament of Nunavutialand, located in the huge city of Anvindr.

Nunavutialand has a moderate population of 76 million people, of which 91% are ethnically Nunavutian, 6% Protacan, 1% Benovoumese and 2% other.
As such, there is a fair military of 244,000 soldiers. However, it is extremely well funded making it one of the most advanced militaries in the world.

The chief exports of Nunavutialand are propulsion systems for space exploration, which we are extremely good at. Nunavutialand's space program, the Interstellar Exploration Commission, or IEC for short is very well funded. Moreover, there are 2 Nunavutian space stations currently in orbit, and 1 orbiting Mars. All 3 are manned.

The country is divided into Holds, which are divided into States, which are divided into Districts, which are then divided into Constituencies.
Constituencies elect Members of Parliament, Districts elect a District Commissioner, States elect a Governor (who represents the state in the Parliament's upper house), and Holds elect a Jaymu who represent the Hold in the High Council, a council which is held to advise the incumbent President.

Due to the Protacan's weakness in military, President Thomas Amstrad offers to protect the Protacan from any and all threats in exchange for an open borders and free trade agreement. This agreement, if successful will be known as the Nebrian Pact.

In other news, in a major incident an Eastern Nunavutian Airways flight from Tartarus to Bridgecross was shot down after being reported as a hijacked jet. All people on board were killed, including 93 Exsuperans.
The Independent Air Accident Investigation Bureau, or Inacon for short is investigating in co-operation with the Nunavutian Military Police. The pilot of the air force aircraft, 27 year old Hillel Netenz from the rural town of Amcross, 74 miles west of Bridgecross is currently being questioned by the Independent Military Police (separate from the NMP as it is only used to investigate incidents involving foreign civilians).
President Amstrad has apologised and he has suspended Minister of Defence Sami Persson pending an investigation. Persson has been replaced by Acting Minister of Defence Harun Ahmed.

The Grand Duchy of Ostralia is a mid sized state, and a religious one. The Gurdukan religion has spread across the continent reaching lands not known to us, but our story continues. Influxes of pilgrims across the continent are raising our population, who need more space. The population is 134 million and growing, as we reach across unforgiving land. We have the one of the last, if not the last, monarchy. Not only that, but the oldest one. The Besier lineage continues on, surviving for 800 years, close to a millenia. The king is King Malkon Besier the 4th, who is 53. He is a liberal, although believes in gurdukan full heartedly. The capital is Odega, with the pope, st. Kalinsky, living there. There is a prime minister with about half the power of the King, with the current one being shanen orcelly. The king has 4 children and 2 grandchildren, with the first inline to be his successor being Ilankan the 3rd, who is 28. After the Ingalian-Osteran war of 1973 we have finally finished our war reperations. The current country is divided into 6 provinces which are divided into 175 counties overall. The current population is splitter into this.

President Amstrad thanks the Protacan for their consideration of a military pact and wishes that they rethink this in the future. He wishes that the Protacan still consider an economic and research pact for the greater good of humanity.

The Independent Military Police clears Hillel Netenz, the pilot of the air force jet which shot down Eastern Nunavutian Airways Flight 24, of all charges. Under the Military Responsibility Act of 1544, all Workers of the Military (referring to all those employed by the military) are not subject to criminal charges if they are forced to carry out acts on orders from leaders.
Consequently, the focus of the investigation shifts to three people : Suspended Minister of Defence Sami Persson, General of the Air Force Mitch Roberts, and the Chief Officer of the Joint Security Departments (Internal Security Department and External Security Department), Emma Jones.

Inacon has expelled the Nunavutian Military Police from the investigation after details emerged showing corruption within the NMP.
President Amstrad has ordered a full investigation by the Internal Security Department into the NMP.
Otherwise, Inacon has gathered enough evidence to take Sami Persson, Mitch Roberts and Emma Jones to the Military Court of Nunavutialand.
Jones has already been fired from the JSD.
The charges are as follows -
Sami Persson : Involuntary manslaughter (231 counts) - minimum sentence is 20 years and the maximum is 4,620 years. (NOTE - Under Nunavutian law, you can in some cases only serve 1/4 of the sentence in jail).
Mitch Roberts : Higher Manslaughter (231 counts) - minimum sentence is 35 years and the maximum is death.
Emma Jones : Negligence which clearly caused extreme harm (2 counts) - minimum sentence is a D^72,000 fine and the maximum is 5 years in prison.

MPs from the opposing Gå Fremover Party have called for President Thomas Amstrad to be impeached. The fourth largest party, the Democrats have called for the same. The third largest party, the Conservatives have called for unity in times of danger.

IEC's Almright Deep Space telescope, which is currently flying through interstellar space (and fires beacons behind to re-amplify its signals so that they reach scientists in 12 days rather than 12,000 years), has sighted a neutron star approximately 2 lightyears away from Earth.

Almright was moved by remote pilots on the order of IEC Director Hassan Shaikh. A trajectory was calculated. It will fly past the planet in approximately 122 years.
It will destroy the planet.
Heat from the star will begin to heat up the planet (let's call it Nasia) in 12 years and in 34 years Nasia will be heated up by 3 degrees celsius.

President Amstrad is made aware of the discovery and orders it to be classified under the highest protection. He immediately orders IEC to begin designing a ship to save humanity.
Details of this are saved on computers in infranet meaning they cannot be accessed externally. All data is encrypted using a top-secret technique developed by the late mathematician, scientist, astrophysicist and theoretical physician Stefan Almright, who passed away at the age of 86 2 weeks ago. He developed the system that IEC uses to fly ships at twice the speed of light.

No data can be retrieved possibly, as all servers containing plans for this ship are in secured chambers 16 miles underneath Mount Wayrest, a mountain located in the Northern Borderlands.

Details of the inbound chaos will be released to foreign governments in 8 years, 27 days, 8 hours and 37 minutes. The Protacan Colony of Commuria will be notified in 5 years exactly.

For now, Nunavutian scientists have begun work on Project Aphios.

A magnitude 9.2 earthquake strikes 7 miles off the coast of Anvindr.
The initial shock caused 18 skyscrapers in the city centre to collapse. Approximately 13,000 people died in that.
A tsunami caused by it reached as far as Winterburg and Newstead. Winterburg has had 76% of its buildings destroyed while Newstead fared better with only 13% destroyed.
Nebrissa has had 95% of its buildings destroyed with the remainder atop Nuberic Hill.

A total of 274,000 people have died. A further 27 million are displaced.
The entire Parliament along with all but 7 MPs was destroyed.
President Amstrad has also died.

Now, the Acting President is Joshua Parcell.
He declares a state of emergency across the country and declares martial law in all Provinces. He also orders to the capital to be moved to Bridgecross.
After the disasters, extremist Gurdukan group GURDUKAN FOR NUNAVUTIA, or GFN begins to stage a military takeover of the northern province of Winterburg. Military forces there surrender after the GFN broke into the Winterburg Chemical Weapons Facility.
A civil war has begun.

We have just launched 2 new space vehicles, named the recolition and the astruan into space. The recolition is a satellite that will maintain orbit with no human presence for the next 2,000 years, trying to find other smart civilizations. It will be manned by 6 astronauts. The Astruan was named after the Osteran general Astruan, who fought in the 3rd nebrian war 200 years prior. The Astruan will have a population of 20 astronauts and is currently the largest space vehicle made by osterans, and it will be launched toward our larger moon (the other would be about 1/3 the size of our moon, Luna), Ruyon, which was named after the Gurdukan god of weather. It will go on a trajectory where they will orbit the moon for 10 Normal days, and then they will land on its surface and will spend 2 days on the surface, and then it will be launched back to the planet.

The pope has decided to stay neutral in this, as he does not believe in harm, but he also like Gurdukan. Currently, the country of Osteralia likes to stick to the past. Many look back to the Osteran Empire, which took up almost 1/4 of nebria's former territory under a strict religious Monarchy. This empire fell in 1495 after a series of rebellions sprung up.

The civil war ends after just 24 days. Over 240,000 lives were lost in the carnage. Reports are flooding the news claiming that G4N committed a genocide of non-Gurdukans.
The treaty states that the government will continue to control all parts of Nunavutialand, but the other rebel groups will be recognised as legitimate political parties.

Nunavutialand's economy has collapsed and the IEC's space endeavours have come to a complete halt.
The inbound asteroid is now the least of Acting President Julianna Knightwood's concerns. She asks for foreign aid. Residents in more inland cities, especially those who live in the completely unaffected City of Crauusmoor located on the Northeastern Border have opened their homes to refugees.

Unemployment, which was at just 0.3% for under-60s prior to the devastation, is now at 82%.

The Parliament has been moved to Crauusmoor although the Capital City is still Bridgecross.
Anvindr is very badly affected by the tsunami and earthquake.

Slowly however the nation is recovering. The Navy and Army have been sent to assist in the rebuilding of Anvindr, Winterburg and Newstead.

Ingalia is a coastal country with a rather weak economy and much civil strafe. The government is corrupt and incompetent.

The modern Ingalia was formed after a even know as the Great Journey, where, during the Great Nebrian War, Nebrian troops defeated the Old Ingalian Armies and murdered King Burke. They then invaded and began slaughtering and looting Ingalia, and soon took Havana and massacred everyone inside. Soon, the remaining Ingalians began to starve, many homeless. Then, the price, and now default king of Ingalia, rounded up the remaining Ingalians on a march, away from the wars and starvations, and settled on a far-away coast.
In the march, of the 430,000 Ingalians, 50,000 were killed in combat, 180,000 starved, and 90,000 remained, to be split and then integrated into surrounding kingdoms and empires. Of the 130,000 who went on the Journey, more than half died, either during the journey, or in the tough years after.
But Ingalia survived and integrated with the natives of the area.

Since then, Ingalia has expanded to a large country, and over the course of the 300-400 years, its population has boomed to 114 Million. But it is poor, corrupt, and weak, but its people are full of nationalistic gusto and culture, and Ingalia would be great if it wasn't for the government and corporations dragging the country down...

Gerald Conovich, The CEO of ING Industrial and massive lobbyist, was murdered after his limousine was stopped by two trucks blocking a intersection. Multiple assasins them opened fire from inside the trucks and surrounding buildings/bushes. several explosives, most likely I.E.Ds and petrol bombs, also were set off. Police quickly responded and 3 assassins were caught.
Gerald Conovich, his driver, and his two bodyguards were killed. Conovich was a huge head of industry, and he has no clear successor to ING Industrial. ING stocks have collapsed.
However, many Ingalians are not upset. Conovich is one of many industry heads that control the government and manipulate the country.
With his recent mass contributions to politicians who voted for the Industrial Land Appropriation bill, it is no doubt that this assassination was for political purposes.

The government has ordered for the execution of the assassins and the capture of anyone associated.

We have decided to take advantage of the Nunavutialand crisis and also help them at the same time. Thus we wish to make a labour agreement where Nunavutialand sends unemployed workers to work for Protacan for a set period of time and thus help rebuild the nation. They can send remittances back to their families and gain skills for when they arrive back home to aid in teir own repairs and construction.

President Julianna Knightwood agrees to this deal, however asks that Trade Standards Nunavutialand, or TSN for short, is allowed to conduct annual undercover investigations into the wellbeing of Nunavutian overseas workers. The TSN does this in Nunavutialand regularly and as a result we have the highest working standards in the world.

In regards to the assassination in Ingalia, ESD officers have singled out one assassin and he was arrested while attempting to sneak into Nunavutialand by taking the following route -

The assassin was arrested after officers from the Transport Police sighted him exiting Strauusmoor. He was using a fake Protacan passport posing as a journalist. Transport Police alerted the Winterburg Police, who sent out 4 highly trained officers specialising in car chases.
Director of the Winterburg Police, Jun Ki-Moon also notified the local department of the JSD, who sent out 12 elitely trained officers of the External Security Department, unusual for an internal arrest.

Nonetheless, Sami Maral, a 38 year old man from Ingalia and military officer was arrested and is now held in indefinite detention at the Offshore Offenders Detention Centre in Bridgecross. He is awaiting to stand trial on the charges of murder and assassination.
We will not send Maral back to Ingalia as the JSD's cyber warfare division, the Cyber Security Department, or CSD, has intelligence that shows clear evidence the assassination of Gerald Conovich was orchestrated by high ranking Ingalian military officers.

Most buildings have been rebuilt, previous figures on destruction were quite off the true figures. Infrastructure in Anvindr and Winterburg are back to normal whereas Nebrissa is still cut off from the electricity grid and there is a huge devastation to the island city.

The Ingalian Government was shocked to hear Nunavutialands discoveries. Indeed, the 3 captured assassins were associated with the military, and they all used military grade weapons.
A mass investigation was ordered to be launched by the President, with backing by the ING Industrial and other large corporations.
But his orders fell on deaf ears as the landlines were cut, and his messages intercepted.
The capitol building was surrounded by military APCs and tanks before they could react.

It was a coup. At the head of it, Ingalian General Javier Rosalva.
Over radio, the coup was announced.
"Today, the Revolution has come early. We had planned to slowly dismantle the oppressive government and evil corporations to free the good Ingalian, but Nunavutian spies had sabotaged us, so we were forced to take drastic measures. The Government has abdicated, and the revolution successful. No longer will the humble farmer or worker labor only for the gain of a few greedy men, but now work for the well-being of each other, and the motherland.
However, we have much work to do. The bourgeoisie still hold much power, as we were not able to completely dismantle them. But, now, this gives the humble worker a chance for revenge. Go, Ingalians, to the streets! Take the fight to the oppressors, to the corrupt! Ransack their offices, murder the bosses, liberate the worker, seize the means of production! Ingalia will be free! the worker will be the ruling class as the bourgeoisie rot beneath our feet! Glory to Ingalia! Glory to the Revolution!"

Soon after Javier Rosalva's speech, Ingalians took to the streets. Windows were smashed, headquarters were stormed, and the bosses were slaughtered like pigs. Soon, the revolution would be successful, and it would be dawned in the blood of the oppressors.

President Julianna Knightcross is shocked to hear of the coup'd'etat in Ingalia. She condemns the military in the strongest possible terms and calls communism a "destructive system that only leads to misery in all forms."
The President states that most of the country has been repaired and tsunami/earthquake/volcano defences will be constructed rapidly.

Nebrissa has been reconnected to the electricity grid and work has begun on rebuilding infrastructure there.

Workers offshore have been sending in aid to their families. Homes are being rebuilt and jobs are returning slowly.

Professor Hussain Abdulabbas, a 40 year old little-known theoretical physician from the private Strummer University in Bridgecross, has published Abdulabbas' Unifying Theory. This theory, is so complex and beautiful that it unites all physics. It eliminates untrue concepts and allows for the proving of all theories developed.

Abdulabbas, upon emailing his development to extremely well-known professor of physics Eric Walters, Walters is shocked. He has worked on a theory of everything for over 50 years, and at 70 to see his work completed shocks him so much that he immediately books a train from the University of Anvindr to Bridgecross.
After the theory is proven 12 times by Abdulabbas, Walters brings him to the Ministry of Science.

After two days, Hussain Abdulabbas is given the highest honour available to anyone in Nunavutialand. He is granted the Forfedres Aere, a key found in the tomb of the ancient Stra'aisi hero, Amst'ra. The key has been studied for 27 years and has been an award available for 1700 years. Nobody has ever been granted it until now.
The Forfedres Aere has been found to originate from another world. The inscriptions have never been decoded. The material it is made of does not decay and is indestructible.
Another honour granted with the Forfedres Aere award is the title of Callon. A Callon has full access to the budget of the government to spend as they please, within reason. Never has this been granted before.

Acting President Julianna Knightcross calls for an immediate presidential election.

There are three parties contesting the vote with three candidates -

National Gurdukan Front (NGF) - Samu Yisha'i - Far-Right Pro-Gurdukan Party - National Socialist

Liberal Party - Julianna Knightcross - Centre-Left - Liberal

Internet Party - Liam Dotnet - Centre - Liberal Anti-Copyright

The votes are in and it was a very close battle between Callon. Abdulabbas' advance.nv party and Liam Dotcom's Internet Party.

Following this, advance.nv forms a coalition with the Internet Party due to their similar views. Liam Dotnet becomes the youngest vice-President in history at just 24.
Liam Dotnet has a huge support base as in 2016, when he was 22, his filesharing service Gigadownload was shut down by Nunavutian police under the administration of Marcus Reece. Many film companies filed a lawsuit against Gigadownload after reports emerged that people were posting pirated content on the website. However, the staff of Gigadownload could not control the data uploaded due to it being encrypted.
Even though this happened, Dotnet was arrested and his assets were seized after a raid on his mansion in Newstead.
Dotnet successfully became an MP and began impeachment proceedings against Ex-President Marcus Reece. Reece was then sued by Liam Dotnet for seven billion diahoxims. After the case was won, Reece was imprisoned for 10 years for corruption.

The little corporatist resistance there was has been crushed. Most of the top bourgeoisie and ex-government officials have been rounded up and captured. However, a considerable amount have escaped and traveled to Nunavutialand or Protocan, most notably the Ingalian Royal Family, who evacuated via private jet to Protocan moments after the coup. But the people of Ingalia knew they needed to permanently secure the revolution. So the order was sent out. For 10 days, heads will roll. Every single ex-politician and bourgeoisie would be executed.
Soon, the bloodshed began. Firing squad, guillotine, hanging, and beheading saw much prominence as the typical methods of execution proved to be more laborous.
Soon, over 20,000 were dead, and the revolution triumphant.

Javier Rosalva then went to work consolidating power and building his government. With the people behind him, he quickly gained complete control.

The revolution was successful, and it was dawned in blood.
