I don't want to go to back alley abortions. If I had my way Roe v Wade would be overturned and an amendment protecting a woman's right to abortion up to a certain point would be added to the Bill of Rights.

Because I'm moving out of the city in a few weeks.

Good luck getting that amendment through congress much less 2/3rds of the state. And where will you be going if I may ask?

That's the problem. It's not that simple. The Const shouldn't be easy to change. If it was supposed to be that way why was it made that way?

Women of the time needed RvW and the religious where not going to allow it.

Plenty of states permitted abortion. Forcing all states to do it is not the Federal Government's business, anymore than forcing Poland to legalize abortion is the Federal government's business. Tenth Amendment. If you want to force your ideology on the states, do it by the legal process of Amending the Constitution. Saying that if you worked according to the process you're supposed to, you would lose, that's tough shit. Not everyone agrees with legalizing abortion.

There lies the problem. The majority who want it overturned don't have a solution. They just want it over turned. And for that matter, they would never accept an amendment on it.

Are you really trying to be that disingenuous? It's existed back then as argument? Really?

Are you really suggesting it wasn't an issue to get an abortion in that time?

Abortion was illegal, it was a misdemeanor. Abortion was not an "unforeseen development", not even like new models of guns. It already existed. It was not covered by the law against unwarranted search and seizure, nor was it intended to be. That is not the reason for the law.

Ok. Nothing wrong with that I guess.

Thurston eh? Where abouts? Olympia, Puget, more inland?

A bit past Lacey over by lake St Clair. It's not totally rural or anything and isn't too far from anything and I can still get good internet speeds and stuff but it's out of the way a bit.

It also comes with a nice hot tub

Well I hate to break it to you but Thurston County is blue county and that wont change anytime soon. It will vote to reelect your senator in November and send Democrats to Olympia.

Our state senator is actually surprisingly moderate on a number of issues for a Dem from such a blue area, I'm happy to vote for him. I will be trying my best to kick Mr. Heck out of office though.

It undoes an, in my opinion, incorrect Supreme Court ruling that has no basis in reality while protecting the rights of the womenfolk.

GOA is getting some serious membership boosts these past couple months. It's not impossible that they overtake the NRA eventually at this rate.
