I don't want to go to back alley abortions. If I had my way Roe v Wade would be overturned and an amendment protecting a woman's right to abortion up to a certain point would be added to the Bill of Rights.

And your reps do represent you. They were duly elected by the people of your city. If you dont like them why dont you run against them this year?

Because I'm moving out of the city in a few weeks.

Tenth Amendment. If you want to force your ideology on the states, do it by the legal process of Amending the Constitution. Saying that if you worked according to the process you're supposed to, you would lose, that's tough shit. Not everyone agrees with legalizing abortion.

There lies the problem. The majority who want it overturned don't have a solution. They just want it over turned. And for that matter, they would never accept an amendment on it.

He should, since it is a bullshit ruling. Abortion existed when the Constitution was written, it was a misdemeanor. Protecting abortion was not the reason the article against search and seizure was written, and even this was admitted in the ruling, which says abortion is protected in the "penumbra" of the article.

Abortion was illegal, it was a misdemeanor. Abortion was not an "unforeseen development", not even like new models of guns. It already existed. It was not covered by the law against unwarranted search and seizure, nor was it intended to be. That is not the reason for the law.

Our state senator is actually surprisingly moderate on a number of issues for a Dem from such a blue area, I'm happy to vote for him. I will be trying my best to kick Mr. Heck out of office though.

Ideally I'd like to get more involved with our state Libertarian Party eventually and maybe run for something but that's a ways off still.
