How do we know this? Because the first step toward Communism is Socialism, and none of the aforementioned are even remotely Socialist in any way, shape, or form.

That it was no longer worth it could be due to a variety of factors, but I wouldn't be surprised if the PR value of pandering to customers who presume to know what's best for such grid girls, even if it costs them their jobs, might be one of them.

When did single modeling gigs become such a precious industry to protect that we cry to the heavens if but a handful are lost?
Also, no one mentioned what was good for the models, the board felt it no longer fit their brand. Until this moment, apparently, there was no F1 charity drive for hot young women.

It's a microcosm of them harming the people they're claiming to help. If they do so here, what's stopping them from doing so elsewhere?Cannot think of a name wrote:Also, no one mentioned what was good for the models, the board felt it no longer fit their brand. And where does "no longer fit their brand" negate the idea of pandering to customers who are absolutely convinced it is exploitative of the employees and/or some kind of thought crime? (Or in Chessmistress' case, apparently both?)
Just because they don't outright blame those customers and risk the resulting controversy and/or dispute about their truthfulness, doesn't mean it had nothing to do with them.

Ooh look, gaslighting. Thats never considered a shitty, lazy tactic to stifle discussion.Cannot think of a name wrote:So it’s all in your head. Cool.
It's a standard tactic. Women are free to do what they want as long as they do what they are told they can do. Women are being denied agency by patronising moral crusaders more interested in middle-class feelings than in actual women's rights to be empowered and have the freedom to do what they want.LimaUniformNovemberAlpha wrote:It's a microcosm of them harming the people they're claiming to help. Thousands? Thousands?
Thousands.
I mean, in this thread you dug up for some reason there have been a lot of people who really, really have no idea what the hell is actually being discussed but...thousands. Did you imagine that an F1 race looks like the opening of Ready Player One? With...thousands of cars lined up?
Or that an F1 race is held under a canopy of umbrellas supported by thousands of grid girls holding them up?
When you typed out this delayed kneejerk reaction to this, what in the hell did you picture that thousands of women were now out of a job?
This doesn't even get to the fact that you dug up this old ass thread which means you had plenty of time to know that you were remaking the dumbest point that had already been do si doed like a half dozen times (or to put it in your math...thousands).
You, sir, have done something I didn't think possible on the internet. You have taken hyperbole to new heights. Take a fucking bow.

I know what the board said, I'm just wanting to hear opinions on if them having the grid girls was actually a bad thing or not.
Valgora wrote:Cannot think of a name wrote:Nothing was banned. If the head of the UFC decides that Octogan Girls do not fit the image that UFC wants to project, then sure. Not sure why you're asking.
I know that Octagon Girls ain't banned. I was just bringing it up because I felt like it was relevant, I kinda wanted to hear people's personal opinions, and I like UFC.

It was an expense that added nothing to the experience. You're paying people to be umbrella stands. It's the smallest piece of garnish in a very garnished dish. Honestly, had F1 not announced it it would have taken months for people to have noticed in the first place, and virtually no one in this thread would have known one way or the other.

Yeah, probably.
The whole thing just seems like a non-issue either way.
