Oh no no, let me clarify that... Not ALL of us (I know I don't; first thing I do is to pet it). A good 99% of us don't. But you know, there are a select few that does. I was just assuming the worst that my poor cat got captured by one of them, no matter the small chance.

I see...Where I'm from there's a small percentage of us who eats bunnies. I know, it's messed up.

On the way to where I get piano lessons, there's a sign in someone's yard advertising rabbits for "pets, show, or meat". Some people are just horrible.

There's an inexplainable joy from raising your own animals. Especially if they're smart enough to understand you and show you how much they love you.

Ahh, I see.. Well, yeah, it's messed up, but then again, I could kind of see where they are coming from. I mean, as an omnivore, I'm pretty sure I am a horror show for those that keep chickens or pigs as pets and never eat them.

For the bunnies, I simply hope that they kill them as quickly as possible before eating it.

I could actually see that now. Living in Singapore is a completely new equation, because 4 of us (my parents, me, and my brother) cannot have a fifth thing bothering us. I actually thought of a stuffed cat toy, and I actually found one whose fur was actually pretty soft. Somehow, I never bought it. And I couldn't find that toy till now.

For R Zar Ni, I unfortunately didn't have pics of him, but here's another cat that looks very similar to him. Living in one of the many pagodas in Yangon, I didn't have the chance to pet it because it hid under the table.

If dog hair alone counted, it would probably be impossible not to touch a dog here, because one thing you learn pretty quick when you get a golden is that they shed. A LOT.

As for other pets, my old neighbors that moved away had a cat that lived to 21. They moved a few years ago, so for all I know it lived a few more years after that. Her name was Lucky, and she was incredibly sweet.

We had a Lab mix when I was little, she shedded a lot. She died of old age years ago, unfortunately.

We lost our Lab mix to cancer three years ago. Yes, she shed. She was also the friendliest and most entertaining animal ever.
We were at a very nice city park, with fountains and gardens, swans and ducks, and a carousel. A serious looking little boy was staring at the ducks. Our dog walked up to him and stuck her head under his hand. He looked down. She smiled up at him. He smiled back. She let him tug her ears and hang onto them as she guided him around the duck pond. Then they went exploring through the garden. She nuzzled the boy's chest, he gave our dog a hug, and got sloppy dog kisses in return. He giggled out loud.

A man cam over and said "Is that your dog?" Oh boy, I though, we're in trouble; she's off leash. But I just said yes.
The man grabbed both my shoulders and then wrung my hand. With tears in his eyes he said "Our son is autistic. Until today we never saw him smile, and certainly never heard him laugh. Your dog in an angel."

Honestly I live vicariously through my pet owner friends...in fact I am the "dogfather" of my buddies lab mix...the mafia references are precious...but at the same time I take the dogfather thing much more seriously than my godfather responsibility... cause... I'm a Jew... which makes the whole thing weird...

On that note, just curious, did she get any treats before she passed? Like fast food or anything that she can just indulge in during her final moments? It seems to be the thing that I saw it happening here and there.

We gave her anything she could eat. The cancer was in her mouth. and had pushed her nose and all her teeth over to the right side of her head. I gave her chicken gravy with chicken bits in it, on a saucer. She could lick it up with her tongue. She never complained, just lay there on her bad side and looked up at us with a sad face.

Ah, I see... But hey, kudos to you and your family for being great towards her. I'm sure that she lived her last days in content, surrounded by people that love her.

I have a beautiful ginger tabby named Jake. I adopted him when I was 9 years old from an animal shelter back in 2007. He was a tiny orphan kitten and had to be bottle-fed. Jake had the funniest meow too; his little voice cracked, so it sounded like "mew-eee" and it was adorable.

Jake is now 10 years old and still acts like a little kitten, and meows like one too. He's a sweetheart, though, and he loves the camera. I love him so much. He's my best friend.

That's a beautiful story. Our Lab never did anything like that as far as I know. She died of old age, at the age of 14, I think. Most of my memories of her of her lying in the sun and napping. I was fairly young when she died, so I don't have that many older memories of her.

My cat knows how to open doors. He isn't strong enough to open most of them, but one of the doors doesn't close right all the time and if we aren't careful he goes out at night.

I had the best dog in the world He was a wallie (whippet x collie) and bodyguard to our cat, Tiberius. Tiberius was a stray who came to us with some health problems and couldn't really move too fast. The other cats used to bully him, so he'd come get Basil to chase them off, and then Basil would escort him around for a while. Then when we'd set out to walk Basil, Tiberius would follow When Tiberius passed on, we adopted two homeless kittens and Basil looked after them too. Sadly, Basil died of CHD a year ago and he has left a huge hole in our lives. We recently got a collie pup called Pickle, who is very sweet and tons of fun, but we'll never forget Basil.
