What is your nation's political system may I ask?

Mine is a Unitary Parliamentary Republic, however the constitution outlines for a semi-presidential system similar to France. However until 1961 my nation was a British Dominion and adopted the Westminster system of parliamentary government and after it became a Republic it continued it essentially just replacing the office of Governor General to that of a President, with a few small changes. Although there is debate on if my nation is a Parliamentary or Semi-Presidential Republic.

Under the constitution the President (who is elected to a five year term by popular vote) can do the following;
Firstly; pick the members of cabinet and the Prime Minister. However in reality this done under the advice of the National Assembly or Parliament. Secondly, can refer legislation to the Supreme Court to test's if it is constitutional or not, Thirdly; is commander and chief of the armed forces and can veto a decision by the Legislature to go to war, Fourthly; has the ultimate power to pardon criminals and lastly; can dissolve the National Assembly.

However in reality the President just goes along with the advice of the National Assembly with these decisions. The President's day to day role is that of a diplomat and representative for the country. Therefore; the President seldom gets the blame for any unpopular decisions made by the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Because he/she appointed them on the advice of the National Assembly.

The method which the National Assembly or parliament is elected under is not common. Because the members of the National Assembly are elected from multi-member electorates of between 5 and 9 members and the electoral act providing for one MP for every 40,000 people in the country. The voting system is that of a single transferable vote. This voting system is used at a National, Regional and Local level across the whole country. It was introduced in the 1920's when my nation was a British dominion.

Because of this system of proportional representation there is a multi-party system in the National Assembly. However for a lot of the last century the Christian Democratic Party (broadly similar to the Christian Social Union of Bavaria) has governed in a majority government. However since the 1970's with the decline of influence of the Roman Catholic Church on society there have been times with the Liberal and Socialist parties have governed in a coalition. Currently the country's governing coalition comprises of the Socialist, Green and Liberal Parties.

The Empire of Columbia is a constitutional monarchy, a federal state and a liberal parliamentary democracy. The federal legislature has two houses - the House of Commons and the Senate. The Commons has 850 seats elected by an MMP system. The Senate has 380 seats reserved for the states, with each state having between 1 and 6 seats depending on population and each seat being elected by First Past The Post voting. There are also 140 seats reserved for the Hereditary Peers (senators who hold the traditional aristocratic titles of Columbia) and sixteen for the Lords Spiritual (senators representing the interests of the established Church of Columbia).

The current Prime Minister of Columbia is George A. Burgess, leader of the Liberal Party. He leads a Liberal-Socialist coalition government (majority 64) in the HoC, with a Liberal majority (28) in the Senate being lead by his good friend and Foreign Secretary Douglas White.

The city government is strongly presidential. We elect a Mayor who holds most of the power. The 24 person City Council is responsible only for some parts of the budget and otherwise serves only an advisory role. The Mayor is elected every five years by a city-wide vote, while the City Council is selected every three years by the 24 city districts using First Past The Post voting.

Our current Mayor is a member of the Fenton Democratic Party, who are affiliated with the Columbian Liberal Party. 17/24 seats on the Council are also filled by Democrats. The Fenton Green Party is the main opposition with 6 seats, while the True Liberals have one seat. Fenton Island is a relatively large federal state (by population) and has 6 seats in the Columbian Senate. 4 of these seats are currently held by Liberals, 1 by the National Party, and 1 by the Socialist Party.

A republic that is paradoxically very unitary in some aspects (divided into 7 Subdivisions of the 1st Level based on equipopulation) and very federal in others (with an overlapping system of Communities based on the people of particular regions joining into them). It has about 10 different parties while utilizing an STV voting system (including 7 council members, among whom the title of President rotates every year).

There is no Prime Minister, though the Secretary of the Branch of Departments (also rotating among the 7) is often considered to be just a fancy name for the same role.

As any Community in Coesu (aside from any in government/GUN property, which only exists in the capital city limits) has the right to secede, the United Nations of Coesu is established, led by the Authority of the United Nations (elected separately across the whole UNC; also using the same rotating-7-council-members system).

The political ideologies of Coesu are best described as libertarian socially and liberal economically (though since the Communist Party got elected it is much more democratic socialist)

Kharaz-A-Kharak have a parliamentary cyberdemocratic system were the Consensus (the Legislative, formed by every citizen) elects the Prime Minister, the other ministerial heads and the judges of the Supreme Court.
Political parties are formed only during elections, based on census data, and according with the census, the parties can elect only a certain number of ministers. After the number is reached, the party cannot elect more officers.
Political decisions are made online in the form of issues and forums discussed during a week.
Judges are elected based on prior work as first instance judges in the Ministry of Justice and Equality and legal knowledge.

The Socialist Union is lead by a state that is composed of State Workers. There is no official individual leader. There are no elections, since they are not necessary. The State is a coordinating enterprise that determines all of the production in the Socialist Union, to prevent dispute or violence among the Workers. The State has advantage and power over society through the Military, and the Police. The Military's duty is to protect the Socialist Union on a larger scale, and in foreign relations. The Police's duty is to protect civilians, and the civil cases and crimes in the Socialist Union. The Police handle labour cases, such as Workplace abuse, or people who refuse to work.

Enterprises within the Socialist Union are either State Managed, or Workers' Self Managed. These two kinds of enterprises cooperate with each other, to keep the infrastructure of the Socialist Union advanced.

State Managed Enterprise: State Managed Enterprises are enterprises that are coordinated by the State. Most State Managed Enterprises are usually larger enterprises that deal with more material and natural resources. Such enterprises that are State managed are Healthcare facilities such as Hospitals, Automotive Enterprises such as Mercedes Benz or Volkswagen, Educational Facilities such as gymnasiums or universities, Emergency Services, most factories, fleet management enterprises, locomotive enterprises, supermarkets, or enterprises that deal with natural resources on a larger scale, resources such as iron ore, oil, natural gas, or coal.

Workers' Self Managed Enterprise: Workers' Self Managed Enterprises are enterprises that are coordinated by the Workers, and have no advantage from the State. Only the Police and the Military have an advantage over Workers' Self Managed Enterprises, to deal with Workplace abuse, or people who refuse to work. The State does not determine the productions of these enterprises. These enterprises allow workers to elect workplace coordinators, unlike State Managed Enterprises. Such enterprises that are Workers' Self Managed are smaller, and consist of a lower staff count. Such enterprises may include cafes, restaurants, laundry shops, construction enterprises, transportation enterprises such as trucking enterprises, taxi services, shoe cleaning services, smaller farms, or wood shops.

The Van Hool Islands are a hybrid Westminster-style parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy. Parliament is unicameral, with the single house known as the House of Commons (Tweede Kamer in Dutch). Since the King lives thousands of kilometres away in the Netherlands, we have a Governor General who represents the monarch in his or her absence. Members of Parliament are elected via mixed-member proportional representation, with 150 seats allocated to "geographical" MPs, MPs that represent a specific riding, and 50 "list" seats, allocated for MPs that are elected via party list. The Prime Minister is appointed by the King, or the Governor General in the King's absence. The Prime Minister is not always the leader of the largest party, but the Prime Minister is almost always the leader of a party within the largest coalition.

At least for now, we are a Parliamentary Democracy with one chamber elected by first past the post and one by PR. Our head of Government's formal title is President of the Central Committee. Our Queen has no power except in the greatest of emergencies if the Government could not function at all.

Ranks are awarded for meritable acts, and the rank awarded depends on the act itself. The conditions are not set in stone and are at the discretion of the Governor-General (who awards ranks at the advisement of the King). The highest rank given immediately was that of Margrave. The majority of ranks awarded are Baron or Viscount.

Knights must be in active service and are knighted by a Prince or Princess. They not only protect their Prince(ss), they will also serve as generals at war. They are regarded as lords. Knights of Honor are not required to be in the military but aren't regarded as Lords.

Marquesses are those who are currently Senators. There are always 130 Senators, which serve terms of five years (max 3). They are chosen by a selected body of Margraves by a council of Dukes and then elected by the Citizens. Those who have served all three terms become Dukes, those who have not become Margraves again. There are no political parties.

Inheritance law states that those under 21 whose parents have a noble rank will not have one of their own. When they become 21, they attain a rank three below that of their parents. Upon receiving a promotion, they will immediately acquire the rank of their parents and not the rank one above their current. For example, if a child is born to a duke, he will have the rank of Earl at 21. When he/she gets a promotion for a meritable act, they will become a Duke and not a Margrave.

Princes or Princesses are the children of the King. One of them, selected by the King at age 21, becomes the Governor-General until the King dies, and then the Governor-General will become King.

Xanthal is a three-branched federal republic, with the vote open to all citizens. The federation is best understood as a multinational state with the Triumvirate functioning as its face and the nexus of outward-facing authority, the Assembly as a forum for political factions to air matters of dispute and codify points of consensus, and the High Court as referee.

The federal legislature (Assembly) has one thousand seats which are divided among the states by population (the non-state territories are treated collectively as a single state for the purpose of Assembly elections). When and how elections are called varies by state, the constitution requiring only that the interval between them not exceed six years. When Assembly elections are held they take place statewide: votes are cast for political parties, and that state's seats divided proportionally based on the results of the vote. Individual representatives are then selected by each party organization. The Assembly is the most powerful branch of government on paper, but in practice the Assembly does very little actual legislating. This is for several reasons. The federal constitution requires two thirds of all its members and a majority of members from each of two thirds of the states to pass a law. Xanthal has a broad array of major parties across the political spectrum, and it's rare for any one party to win more than a fifth of the total seats. On top of that, its states have vastly different social, political, and economic settings so even within parties priorities tend to vary substantially by delegation. Formal coalitions are rare and never control enough votes to truly govern; most alliances are issue-based, rising and falling with the news cycle. As a result, lawmaking "on the ground" mostly falls to the state legislatures, and the states have markedly different legal landscapes as a consequence. Because the Assembly is so hamstrung by its divisions, most federal power ends up being exercised by the Triumvirate (executive) and High Court (judiciary).

The Triumvirate is elected at large every six years by single non-transferable vote. If one of the winners is not a citizen of the federation or belongs to the same political party as another winning candidate their seat will pass to the next-place finisher until all three seats are filled, but in practice this has never been necessary to date. By finishing order the victors attain the title of First, Second, or Third Triumvir, but this is mainly symbolic as each has a single vote in the Triumvirate regardless of their margin of victory in the popular vote. The Triumvirate ministers to foreign relations and the military and keeps most federal services running.

The High Court is made up of nine Judges nominated to indefinite terms by the Triumvirate with the Assembly holding veto power over nominations. The High Court runs the justice system- both federal police services and courts- and arbitrates legal conflicts between states. It also has the power to nullify edicts of the other branches if two thirds of the Judges hold them to be in violation of the federal constitution.

Historically, turnover in the government is low. While the Assembly as a body is by nature perennially unpopular, individual representatives generally poll respectably among their particular constituencies, and parties tend to prefer filling their quotas with reliable votes and proven records in any case. Triumvirs have proven similarly durable- though for demographic reasons rather than political ones- to the point that it's become standard practice for them to hand-pick their replacements by stepping down midterm and allowing their preferred successor to take office by default, giving them a head start on the next election. High Court Judges, meanwhile, are typically replaced only after death or resignation.

Gandoor is a unitary parliamentary republic.

The Prime Minister is both the head of government and head of state of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor. Elected indirectly by the people, the office of Prime Minister goes to whichever party has the most seats in the Forum following National Elections, which occur every six years. Unlike other parliamentary systems, where Prime Ministers either have no term limits or can stay in office as long as they maintain the confidence of the legislature, the Gandoorese Prime Minister can only serve for two terms of six years. From the founding of the Democratic Republic in 1904 to 1958, however, there was no limit to the number of terms the Prime Minister could serve.

The Prime Minister is also not a Member of the Forum and is required to resign from their seat in the Forum upon taking office.

The legislature of the Democratic Republic is the Forum, which consists of 1000 seats, with each administrative division being allocated 125 seats each. The D'Hondt method of party-list proportional representation is utilized for elections. While Members of the Forum are elected/reelected during National Elections, it is Forum Elections, which occur every four years, that determine how long one can remain in the Forum, with them having strict term limits of three terms of four years. Naturally, as a result of this, every third National Election is also a Forum Election. (And indeed, next year's elections on 6 July 2024 is an example of this, since the most recent National Election occurred in 2018 and the most recent Forum Election occurred in 2020). As Forum Elections can result in the opposing party gaining the majority of seats, many politicians consider it to act as a substitute to declaring a motion of no confidence and an emergency election, two things which have yet to occur in the Democratic Republic.

Despite the fact that the D'Hondt method should result in a multiparty legislature, Gandoorese politics is dominated by the Gandoor Communist Party and New Democratic Party, although every election since the 1964 National Election has seen at least one additional party gaining seats in the legislature, with the current two minor parties being the Gandoor Freedom Group (who first gained a seats in the Forum in 1976) and the People's Party of Gandoor (who first gained seats in the Forum in 1994). The current Majority Party in the Forum is the New Democratic Party, who has had the majority since 2018, with 488 seats, the Opposition Party is currently the Gandoor Communist Party, with 485 seats, and the minority parties are the People's Party of Gandoor. with 18 seats and the Gandoor Freedom Group, with 9 seats.
