It was too corporate that time, we need to clearly try a more zen management style with less stock options.

I know this may be a little late - but thanks for all the congratulations! I am incredibly happy to reach this position in the Wardens and be able to help lead a region I love. It's been a good year for me personally, and part of making it great has been the friendship, community and determination of the Grey Wardens. <3
Your role is Chamberlain of the Grey Wardens. Your job is to break hearts and make bad puns.

You have the position of Legislator in the South Pacific. You have 2 bullets.

You are spending the night as a Citizen of the Rejected Realms. Have a good time!

Return of a Legendary Hero

Postby Tim-Opolis » Tue Feb 06, 2018 11:36 pm

Image
It's not Jesus, but truly if there was ever an NS Jesus it's this legendary warrior

Let's take a trip down memory lane, dear readers. Think back to December 23rd, 2017. I tell you what, put on some background music for the somber ocassion too. December 23rd marked one of the darkest days in the history of The Grey Wardens, as the Spear Danes Delegate McClel Land ceased to exist. Tears were wept, but battle had to go on. Against all adversity, brave Wardens rode to the liberation of the besieged region Philippines with their allies. Despite all the signs that it would go wrong, a fire was lit in the hearts and minds of the Wardens. While McClel Land's own flame was extinguished, it carried on in that of the Wardens, as they beat back the craven darkspawn who sought to subjugate the Philippines to their will. The Liberation of Philippines was dedicated to brave McClel Land, he who held his vigil as delegate for one hundred long days. Truly, we thought he had passed to the Great Unknown. That is until a couple days ago, when it happened.

Image

It was as angels themselves had spilled from the heavens, such was the joy that The Grey Wardens felt at the return of their most valiant warrior. He who holds the permanent cross, vigilant and ever-ready to provide vital support. When he spoke to the region, it was a joyful occasion. The casks of ale were taken out of the cellar, and drink merrily flowed through the Spear Danes. McClel Land had returned, and he was ready to once again fight the righteous battle. There was, without question, nobody who was more a native son of the original Spear Danes than the legendary hero. We have provided a transcription of his returning words, so that you may weep in joy as well.

Greetings all,

If you do not know who I am, then allow me to introduce myself. I am McClel Land, and I have returned from my leave of absence. Those who were here may have remembered me as the WA Delegate of this region before my sudden disappearance about a month or so ago. I have returned, and I am willing to uphold a leadership position again, if you, The Empire of Spear Danes, would deem it allowed. If you feel my help could be useful, please message me. I have no preference in specific position, but I would like to participate in this great region once again.

Long live Spear Danes, and long live it’s loyal nations!
-McClel Land

In recognition of the great deeds of McClel Land, tonight's battles against the Darkspawn are dedicated to his return, for it has bolstered the hearts of our warriors and even feels to have sharpened the steel of our swords. To celebrate his return, we first fought against the newest "soon-to-fail" merger military on the block, The Ragerian Imperium. Formed from the remnants of The Dark Vanquishers and H Y D R A, we assume it'll last almost as long as The Dominion of Tartarus did. Then, when their troops left for the night, we engaged against bold Romans. They fought well, we shall grant them that. Finally, Fasicst Darkspawn of Kaiserreich attempted to be stealthy and invade a region, but the eagle-eyes of Commander Tim Stark spotted them the second they attempted the action. Twelve wins today, and more to come.

Once again, hail to the glory of McClel Land! The Native Spear Dane returns! o/

A NEW LIEUTENANT!

Image
I just found out something cool! Our new Lieutenant named himself after the Sumerian underworld. Good luck guessing who from that!
Pictured: Wardens celebrating

Today let's take a moment to appreciate yet another Warden promotion (because we are just overflowing with cool people). And I'm totally going to steal the guess-the-Warden style - it was fun last time even though I knew the answer :P

We first met this Warden in late March of 2017, coming to us from TBH to try out the defender lifestyle. Since then, he's displayed drive, determination, and dedication to the Wardens. He's done nearly 100 updates with us, with over 450 total operations, including 216 defenses, 67 libs, and 125 detags. He's triggered quite a few successful operations already. Not only that, but he's a reliable presence in our community. His unique R/D philosophy is always ...refreshing? unique? interesting? let's go with interesting to hear. He's put in a lot of work in behind the scenes, which has been very much appreciated. Also he makes some really awful puns that pain me terribly. I mean that in the nicest way. Puns that make your brain recoil in disgust are a Warden tradition that this Warden has mastered.

This warden is well known for having eagle eyes... or maybe hawk eyes? He's always quick to pounce on abandoned fascist and raider regions and claim them for the Order. Not only that, but he's great at spotting wherever wehraboos fail. Remember the wonderful #CommieFendasForSpellCheck? He's responsible for a lot of that (and don't let Roavin tell you otherwise!) He's so sharp that when we promoted him, we decided to see how long it would take him to notice. It was a couple seconds. He's good.

When asked if he'd like to say anything in this post, he said: "I think i'd like to thank yuno for her guide. Without it, I probably wouldn't have been promoted. And that it is important on NS to proove self-intiative." Well, he has certainly proven self-initiative. Though he probably would have been promoted without the guide. No offence, Yuno, but it was the hard work and determination that sparked the promotion, and he absolutely deserved it on his own terms. Even if the guide helped >_>

I am incredibly proud to introduce our newest Warden-Lieutenant Kurnugia!

Congrats, Kurn! Very well deserved!

He's also not afraid to go out there and apply new skills at a high level. After learning to trigger, he went out and triggered 4 liberations in one update, all tight, all hits, including the last one in 0s. Move over Pyro, there's another set of brass balls in town! Just don't ask to see Kurnugia's alignment score... :)

A Visual Representation of TBH's Tagging Crew tonight

I'm saving the sports analogies for something more important than a routine tag chase, so we'll just keep it casual and let the .gif and the statistics tell the story.

The Black Hawks attempted 38 jumps tonight. Of these 38, they successfully took 9. In addition, 17 were successfully defended, and the rest were an assorted variety of missed triggers. The Grey Wardens and allies have therefore once again demonstrated their updating superiority, forcing The Black Hawks to a pitiful 23.7% success rate. Even if we factor out missed regions, the success rate only rises to a paltry 34.6%. In comparison, The Grey Wardens and friends successfully defended 44.7% of their deployments tonight. If we factor out TBH's misses, this number rises to a monumental 65.4% defense rate. This only acts as a clear demonstration of the elite R/D capabilities of The Grey Wardens and the rest of the Libcord Server, and why Raiders so frequently now have to resort to over-piling operations or going on 1-team tag runs with 8 people just to pick up some wins. Saying our update abilities are simply superior to theirs isn't even a hot take at this point, it's just a fact.

Months ago, raiders would lament that their reality had become one in which they could only get successful hits on half of their jumps. In our ever-wandering journey to improve, we have demonstrated ability to drop that number even lower. With our souls emboldened by these recent victories, we strive to only improve even further as an Order. Okay, one sports analogy. We're basically the Shannon Sharpe to TBH's Skip Bayless, and that Undisputed. Also, the Cowboys have no Super Bowl prospects.

The Royal Alliance III

Another region that gives me flashbacks. In 2013-2015 and back then just 'The Royal Alliance' they were one of the larger UCRs, at least big enough to propose treaties with TRR.

I didn't exactly have a good opinion of them at the time, I quote from the TRR forum

The Royal Alliance one of the bigger sources of rejects to TRR over the years, enough that I recognise them. I don't mean one off purges or raids, but general ejections of nations who don't fit fairly strict rules/theme of the region. It was semi regular source of TRR's rmb drama as a result.

It was really really easy to offend the founder and boom! Ejected :p

The Royal Alliance was good for one thing though, my 2ic, commendation author and successor after I first retired from Airspace was a TRA reject; I gave him a much better home.

I'm pretty sure the same guy founded the Royal Alliance of Conservative Nations, I knew him in 2016. Obnoxious, juvenile, his posts read a little like Trump's tweets. His character ended up getting the RACN torn apart and he was deleted for imitation in the succeeding drama. I'm certain that before and even after that he's been founding regions, using similar WFE's and that same flag for them, if you've seen one of his regions you've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Mock all you’d like, but seems to me from your report like your crew is the one that needs to outnumber the opposition 3:1 to pick up enough wins to brag about. ;) Crew was outnumbered 6:2 and still completed their entire run with some successes. Which is odd, considering we have “no stamina” and all.

Hit the nail on the head. The UACN was meant to be the RACN's successor that would be free from the RACN'S drama. Didn't work of course, the founder left the region and CTE'd within a week or two. Skip through a few raids, a liberation, a few constitutions and OOC drama and Sanders, long time delegate, had passworded and refounded the region. Skip through another few refounds and now I'm the founder.
Fun, fun, fun!
