LONELY MULTIVERSE
The Approx Guide to the Equestrian States

Introduction

The Pony Principality of Equestrian States is a diverse country inhabited by several dozen sapient species, each contributing to the nation's proud culture of tolerance and giving the Equestrian States a reputation of compassion and kindness. Tradition and innovation have combined well in this North Pony Lands nation, rapidly bringing it into the modern world after centuries of self-imposed isolation from the rest of the multiverse. This Lonely Multiverse travel guide is designed to be the ultimate companion for any tourist (regardless of their species) visiting the Equestrian States, and is loaded with every tip and bit of advice one needs to have an safe and enjoyable stay.

History

Originally colonized by sapient equines (commonly referred to as ponies) from Magical Equestria over 2000 years ago, the Equestrian States was first established as a largely-autonomous overseas territory of its motherland. As a colony, the Equestrian States was fairly prosperous, developing a matriarchal society similar to that of Magical Equestria and other prominent Pony Lands nations. Several decades after the first ponies set hoof on the islands now part of the Equestrian States, however, the rise of a mysterious and chaotic entity known as Discord led to the government of the growing colony to adopt strict isolationist policies to avoid attracting the attention of Discord.

Several centuries later, the anarchic reign of Discord in the Pony Lands came to an end, though the Equestrian States remained firmly entrenched in its isolationist policies. Having formally declared its independence from Magical Equestria during the rule of Discord, the Equestrian States was reluctant to turn away from the policies which had allowed it to escape the turmoil faced by the rest of the region. Yet another cataclysmic event, just over a millennia ago, saw the known world embroiled in conflict with itself and the fledgling former colony sunk deeper into isolation for the next several centuries.

However, about 200 years ago, the long-standing policies separating the Equestrian States from the rest of the region gradually began to erode with the rapid growth of international maritime trade. Though it would take until just 50 years ago for the remaining isolationist policies to be overturned or made obsolete, foreigners began to take note of the Equestrian States and its northern location in the Pony Lands. What finally drove the ponies of the Equestrian States to abandon isolationism entirely was commerce, with the nation's location being perfect as a refueling and stopping point for ships traveling from outside the Pony Lands.

Active membership in the Coalition of Ponyist States (a military, economic, and political alliance famed for its quick, efficient, and merciless dealings with nations actively persecuting sapient equines and other non-humans) gave the Equestrian States reason to become heavily involved in international politics and trade. Within a decade, the Equestrians entered the modern era, utilizing magic in creative ways to avoid industrial pollution wherever possible and speed the nation's development.

Today, the Equestrian States is an advanced country that has successfully merged tradition, magic, and technology. With an economy dominated by tourism, agriculture, and the mining of precious minerals, the Equestrians have found their niche in the international community. Thanks to its location in the Pony Lands, the Equestrian States has become a travel hub for many visiting the region from around the world, and the nation is easily among the more prosperous and safe for foreigners to visit.

Geography & Climate

The Equestrian States is best described as an island nation. However, most Equestrians live on the largest island, which is referred to by locals as the mainland, due to its size and role as a population and commercial center for the country.

The mainland is mostly flat grassland and plains, though forests and hilly areas exist and are generally scattered throughout the island. Running north to south are the Harmony Mountains, named for Mt. Harmony near the capital city of Canterlot. The mountain range divides the mainland into eastern and western geographic regions, and was once home to dozens of active volcanoes. However, no eruption has occurred in the Harmony Mountains in over 800 years, and the range is believed to be inactive. The ancient volcanic activity on the mainland (and on many of the Equestrian States' smaller islands, as well) resulted in mineral deposits from which Equestrian miners have extracted gold, silver, and other valuable materials for export.

Two notable exceptions to the mainland's grassy majority are the Everfree Forest and Southern Desert. The Everfree Forest is more of a jungle than a temperate forest, and is widely considered the most dangerous region in the Equestrian States due to its large numbers of wild carnivorous species, some of which would be considered "mythical" by foreigners. Within the Everfree Forest is the city of Everfree, located along the banks of the Stampede River and home to the largest population of non-equines in the nation. A number of more typical temperate forests surround the Everfree Forest itself.

The Southern Desert is (as one might expect) a dry region located in a small pocket of flat land surrounded by the Harmony Mountains near the southern coast. The only major population center in the Southern Desert is the small city of Appleoosa, located in what could be considered by some as a cooler oasis.

But where things begin to get weird for the average tourist is the Equestrian States' weather. Due to the magical nature of many of its inhabitants, the Equestrians are fully capable of creating, manipulating, and otherwise controlling the clouds and weather. This gives them the ability to determine where and when in rains, snows, hails, or any other . The Equestrian government is very actively involved in coordinating the pegasai of the country to generate and control weather patterns favorable to the Equestrian States inhabitants (and its many farmers, in particular). As such, the odds of an Equestrian weatherpony giving an incorrect forecast are almost nonexistent, unless you happen to be in the Everfree Forest (the only region of the Equestrian States where the weather is practically impossible to control due to a prevalence of wild magic).

Travel

Travelling to the Equestrian States is generally easy, as most methods of interregional travel are available to visitors from outside the Pony Lands. Most international flights to the Equestrian States arrive at Canterlot's Harmony International Airport, but other regularly-used airports such as Manehattan's Royal International and Stalliongrad's Friendship Heights International are easy to find flights to. However, it should be noted that pilots flying to and from the Equestrian States internationally must receive additional certification due to the nature of the Equestrian States and much of the Pony Lands. Because of this additional requirement for pilots, some airlines do charge extra to cover the training fees.

Another common way of reaching the States is via sea. Manehattan's seaport is among the most active in the North Pony Lands, and isn't located far from the heart of the Equestrian States' largest city.

Once in the Equestrian States, there are many other options for travel. Rental cars, taxis, and busses are easy to find in the larger cities such as Manehattan, Stalliongrad, and Everfree, though one might notice that most vehicles are electric-powered. But while cars and busses are regularly used in some cities, there are also several in which their use is limited to emergency services (most notably in Ponyville and Canterlot's Old City district) or is totally banned (as is the case in Cloudsdale).

However, the limited use of automobiles is balanced out by the proliferation of trains for travel between and within cities. Some of the more prominent and historical lines (such as the Ponyville-Canterlot Express) still use steam-powered engines or high-speed trains designed to mimic the classical appearance of an Equestrian train. Subways are also a common feature in Equestrian cities, spreading underground to connect many places of interest for foreign tourists. Cloudsdale is the only city where cars, buses, and trains/subways are unavailable.

But in the end, the most common method of travel in the Equestrian States is one's own two feet (or whatever you have to walk on). Few Equestrians drive or use public transportation unless they have to, preferring to take in the clean air on their way from place-to-place.

Culture & Society

Religion

Any analysis of Equestrian culture and society must begin with its majority religion and guiding philosophy: Harmonism. A dualistic religion, it revolves around the physical sun and moon deities, Celestia and Luna, as well as the six principles known as the Elements of Harmony. The religion's origins are near-impossible to determination, though it is widely believed to begun shortly after ponykind first encountered Celestia and Luna over two millennia ago. Unlike other religions, Harmonism lacks a written scripture or centralized multiversal organization to create such writings, occasionally resulting in disagreements between Harmonists from different regions. For the sake of brevity, we will only be exploring the most common spiritual and secular beliefs held by those from the Equestrian States.

As stated earlier, the central beliefs of Harmonism include the worship of the Regal Sisters (Celestia and Luna) and adherence to the Elements of Harmony. Celestia and Luna are the two Princess rulers of distant Magical Equestria, though Luna has (in recent years) begun to spend considerable time aiding the C'tan in preserving peace throughout the Pony Lands. Immortal and, according to spiritual Harmonists, capable of moving celestial bodies through magic, the two Regal Sisters are worshiped (or at least respected) by ponies throughout the multiverse as living goddesses. Some have recently begun to question the actual power of the Sisters, though it is widely accepted among ponykind that they are the two most powerful magical beings in existence.

The six Elements of Harmony are Honesty, Laughter, Kindness, Generosity, Loyalty, and Magic. These Elements exist both as philosophical concepts as well as physical objects capable of great power that contain the purest magical essence of the aforementioned virtues. The philosophical aspects of the Elements are more central to Harmonist faith as a set of morals to guide one throughout life. They are, for the most part, fairly self-explanatory, except for Magic. The sixth element has been connected not only to the ability of equine Harmonists to use magical spells, but also to the drive for new knowledge or understanding. It also has been connected to the power of friendship, and is mentioned in the most common Harmonist saying: "Friendship is Magic".

However, Harmonism has expanded from its spiritual roots (particularly as more non-equines are exposed to harmonist teachings) to become a secular philosophy as well. Secular Harmonists generally try to follow the virtues of Harmonism, though they generally do not believe that the Regal Sisters are physical goddesses. The expansion of Secular Harmonism has also led to the traditional virtues being adopted and woven into other religions as well, such as Christianity. Excluding the overwhelmingly Spiritual Harmonist equine population of the Equestrian States, the most common religion is Harmonist Christianity, which is especially popular among the human inhabitants of the nation.

Language

Traditionally, ponies have spoken in their native Equestrian tongue which is common throughout the Pony Lands. However, since the emergence of the Equestrian States into the international community, laws have been passed requiring citizens to be capable of speaking multiple languages. The most common non-Equestrian language is easily English, which is spoken by approximately two-thirds of the population. It should be noted that some English words have been altered by Equestrians to better fit the equine majority, as the use of "everypony", "anypony", "hoofball", and other such words are modifications of the more standard English words. Mastery of many different languages is especially common among Unicorns, and as they are generally the ones more involved in business, are easy enough to find for foreign visitors. Numerous translating services exist throughout the Equestrian States, and airport bookstores generally contain a plethora of multilingual dictionaries for purchase.

Food

As one might expect from a nation dominated by a species of herbivores, many traditional Equestrian dishes are vegetarian in nature. The proliferation of such food is also furthered by the general lack of agriculture for the purpose of raising up animals for the slaughter. To hurt another living creature is, to many Equestrians, simply unthinkable. However, the Equestrian States is not only inhabited by equines, but also by griffons, dragons, and humans (among others). Restaurants do exist to cater to these non-equine species, and do serve a wide variety of meats imported from outside of the region. That being said, it would be unwise to be seen in public eating a hamburger made from beef or any other meat product as many Equestrians are disgusted by such foods. This can make finding food difficult in smaller cities and in the nicer areas of the larger ones. A general tip would be: if your waiter looks like a herbivore, don't ask them for a cheeseburger or steak. Equestrian cafes are fairly creative with what they can do with non-meat products, and the bread and pastries are oftentimes better than what you might find in other nations.

Drink in the Equestrian States also differs significantly from other nations around the multiverse, as the most common alcoholic beverage is hard cider, which can be found at virtually every bar, pub, and restaurant. Ponies generally refrain from drinking too heavily, but other non-human sapients such as griffons are known to consume vast quantities of alcohol in a single sitting. We advise our human readers to graciously decline any drinking challenges offered, as one is unlikely to win, and drunk griffons can be notoriously temperamental. Beer is a distant second to cider, in terms of both popularity and availability, though bars and eateries which cater to human tourists will often keep domestic Equestrian brands in stock.

Inter-Species Relations

As the Equestrian States is home to a wide range of species, it is practically impossible for any visitor to the country to avoid seeing a member of another species, regardless of where they might be. Unicorns could pull this off in certain neighborhoods of Canterlot, and Earth Ponies could do the same in isolated rural areas, though foreigners will often stumble across other species upon entry into the Equestrian States as customs officials are perhaps the most diverse Equestrian demographic.

Relations between the three major pony races have not always been smooth, and some tensions still exist today despite the educational system's teaching of acceptance and tolerance. However, inter-species violence is very rare within the Equestrian States, as is violence in general, with the possible exceptions coming from dragons, griffons, and other more naturally-aggressive species. Angering a dragon is about as dumb as it sounds, and is not advised unless one has a death wish.

Visitors to the Equestrian States are also advised to avoid appearing speciesist to locals, as Equestrian society could be described as having a herd mentality, where an attack against or insult towards one person might be considered an attack on all those around that person. Thus, some words to avoid using in the Equestrian States are: horse, mule, foal, or donkey. Calling a pony any of those terms is likely to result in a backlash towards the offending individual, as they are considered to be offensive unless one is actually speaking to a sapient horse or donkey, which are both easy to tell apart from ponies through their size and general lack of bright-colored fur or manes.

RP permissions: Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can rain a hail of meteors down on the city, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

Note: Soltsteedish surnames follow RL Netherlands Dutch conventions on surname prefixes: they aren’t capitalised when used in combination with first names or initials, but are capitalised in all other situations. For example, “Carle de Marcht” is correct, while “Carle De Marcht” is not; however, when the given name is not used, “De Marcht” is proper, while “de Marcht” is not.

The default Soltsteedish strategy can be summed up in one phrase: “the best offence is a good defence”. The Stallions play a highly opportunistic attack, lying in wait for an opportunity rather than charging head-on. Possession is mostly confined to the midfield, keeping the ball comfortably away from [insert Emmet Ferdinand’s eventual replacement here]’s goal and close enough to Soltsteed’s lone striker Carle de Marcht for him to attack when necessary. Soltsteed prefer to play a passing game in possession, while attempting to pry the ball away from the opposition when not, either by intercepting a pass or tackling players. The Stallions will attempt to frustrate and infuriate the opposition through tactics of time wasting, bus parking and—in the most desperate of circumstances—dirty play if necessary to achieve the desired result and are unashamed of drawing games and advancing via penalty shoot-outs.

Manager
Tobias Möller Image
Age: 50
Sacked from his job as Pasarga's national team manager despite getting them to the knockouts, Möller's availability and known preference for attacking tactics made him a prime candidate for the job. Considered to be a good balance to the defensive minded Tracey as the assistant, the VSC is hoping that the former international star can relaunch his international pedigree and get the Marauders back on track towards winning trophies.

Assistant Manager
Wisdom Tracey Image (F)
Age: 32
A more defensive minded manager than is typically associated with Vanorian national team programs and will no doubt be attempting to get her manager to attempt to implement her favored 4-4-2 defensive diamond formation. While Wisdom had been hoping to get the full managerial job, the VSC decided her age leant more towards an assistant role with a possible promotion in two to three cycles.

Keeper

1 Sean Smørdal, Raynor City United
Age - 20
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 181 lbs

Defenders

2 Tidaugion Runbrinonel, Chromatik Image
Age - 600
Sex - M
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 184 lbs
Solid piece of the defense for his club side, which yielded second least goals last season. Works well with everyone around while not being too haughty. Knows how to lead and help control the egos of the squad.

3 Seve Vásquez Image , Mar Sara FC
Age - 24
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 175 lbs

4 Perla Sierra Image, Wexax United
Age - 30
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 163 lbs

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, 1830 Cathair Image
Age: 769
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than five countries clubs. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Yuki Hatsune Image, FC Capri
Age -20
Sex - M
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 147 lbs

10 Laborious Hawk, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 733
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

8 Ilglerdiriel Lithvathar, Raynor City United
Age - 739
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 149 lbs
Lithvathar is much like va Drake, a floater who is dynamic in attack but with enough speed and sense of the pitch to make up on any sort of defensive lapse. Yet unlike her flankmate, she is not nearly as skilled, but do not let that fool you, in a moment of magic she can undress an entire backline and set up more prolific scorers with easy chances.

7 Faeron Soldarian, 1830 Cathair Image
Age - 647
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 522
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco continues to lead the line of the attack, being the tip of the spear that is the Marauders offensive movement. By now most teams know of the striker's pace and near laser guided shot, however the striker still somehow finds ways to bring in the goals.

11 Fionn Lynch Image , SC Rinaldi
Age - 29
Sex - M
Height: 6'
Weight: 170 lbs
Tall, lean, scorer of important goals, but the breath of a career coming to a close striking him down the neck has put words into action for Fionn Lynch. Filing and having a one time switch to have his nationality eligibility changed and approved by the WCC, after receiving word he would not be in the Brenecia squad that would go into the Finals and the Vanorian call for players, Lynch will look to play a pivotal role in this mashed up line up of players. While the heart of the squad is still there, so many new faces will be hard to integrate many believe, but a professional like Lynch who has played for nearly a decade in Valanora should be up to the task, especially with Fresco being one of the few elves who remained.

The Starblaydia national football team (now updated!) will tell you more about the team, their style, culture, fans, and history than I can ever write in a simple roster post. Thanks.

I Give My Opponent Permission
(and actively encourage them) To:

Choose My Scorers
GodMod Any Goalscoring Events
Red & Yellow Card Players (Within reason, they're not remotely a dirty side)
GodMod Other Events for Humorous Intent

Notes:
1) Starblaydia with play a slightly attacking game with a +1 style modifier.
2) The best starting eleven are numbered 1-11 and are in bold
3) I actively encourage that if you RP first you pick my scorers (if any).
4) * Denotes female player, denotes elf player, ^ denotes dwarf player.
5) Before each match, in between national anthems and kick-off, the entire 23-man squad will perform the Raiigar, Starblaydia's traditional war-dance (Similar to a Haka).

since World Cup 67.

Staff
AF. Ázëwyn Fëanáro*, Manager, 4,046
270 Caps, 71 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Fëanáro scored the winner in the 47th Final against Valanora, denying them a title on their own turf and lifting Starblaydia to the mantle of all-time greatest team. Known for her excellent attacking play, range of passing and great eye for goal that lifts her to second in the all-time goalscorers list too, by virtue of a nearly 1-in-4 ratio, Ázëwyn Fëanáro is a symbol of grace, power and beauty from Starblaydia's golden age, some hundred and twenty-five years ago when the Cup was in its 40s. It is these qualities that the SFA managed to recapture with Fëanáro at the helm, bringing her trademark poise and piercing yell to the touchlines after more than a decade of national failures. She took her team to an ultimately dismal World Cup 78 Finals performance, but the crucial point was they were at the World Cup after so long without it.

JM. Jerzy Makuszewski, Assistant Manager, 56
83 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Known as "Chef" by those who can pronounce his surname correctly, Makuszewski took up the mantle of "Best in the World" Lucas Cable to become Starblaydia's unassailable number one between the posts and wear the captain's armband. Always a fiery character, he can shift from jovial to furious in moments, and is Fëanáro's 'enforcer', barking out orders and remonstrating with players and officials with equal fervour.

Goalkeepers
1. Bjorn Järvinen, GK, 26 - Hippion Overdrive
5 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
He's slotted into the position of Overdrive's number one and now Järvinen has been thrust straight onto the Starting XI of the national team, thanks to Myhill's wrist injury, a proving ground that he seems desperate to excel in. Made his appearances for Starblaydia so far during the successful World cup 79 Qualifying campaign and now he has to stake his claim as number one.

12. Martin Bennett, GK, 22 - Paricone Athletic FC
Uncapped (1 Cap, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Bennett is a big fellow, a very big fellow indeed. An excellent distributor and calm under crosses, he's surprisingly agile for a man with a frame his size.

19. John Higgins, GK, 34 - Jhanna City
6 Caps, 0 Goals (1 Cap, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Solid, dependable and genuinely unexciting, just like a good goalkeeper should be. No scorpion kicks, no unorthodox playmaking, and no fuss on crosses and shots. JCFC's number one, however, can only make Starblaydia's number three.

Defenders
2. Dorn Garkadrum^, RB, 32 - Iskara Daii
34 Caps, 4 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Full of tricky moves and neat interplay, Garkadrum's wing wizardry for the Widdrington Wolves saw him wrangle a way to the far less alliteratively named, but much more successful Iskara Daii . His speed and ball control make him a voracious attacking full back, and he's got the pace to track most wingers and collect the hopeful long balls without any trouble. Like a bullet in attack and defence, he wants to live up to the exploits of his great hero, the World Cup Hall of Famer and Iskara Daii legend Khim Azanulbizarn.

3. Frederico Esposito, LB, 24 - Iskara Daii
11 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
The Daii bought two full-backs on th eback of their title-winning season in Liga Starblaydia, and now both of them start for the national team in the AOCAF Cup. Not too bad for young Esposito, who made enough of an impression during World Cup 79 to be handed a starting shirt for this tournament. More defensive than his club colleague on the other side, he's a solid tackler and has the energy to run all day.

5. Syku Ryku, CB, 22 - Foxchester Raiders
1 Cap, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Watching Syku Ryku play is like watching beige paint dry. Or, perhaps, Orange-Blue paint dry. So terribly, terribly dull. No mistakes, no rushes of blood to the head, no crazy backheels to outwit a striker, just solid, simple, defensive play. Although his thick Rejistanian accent, acquired from his parents, is unintentionally hilarious in interviews, there's no more a model professional on the pitch. Unless you're watching the robot leagues, in which he'd fit right in.

6. Santiago Ortega, CB, 22 - Hippion Overdrive
Uncapped (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
.

13. Garret Allen, R/LB, 22 - Paricone Athletic
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

14. Jared Ward , CB, 34 - Jhanna City
8 Caps, 0 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

20. Jackson Lee, L/CB, 21 - Montepool Wave
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

21. Tupu Alofa, CB, 21 - Cedrus Soundgardia
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

Midfielders
4. Pawel Zapotowski, Captain, L/DM, 32 - Beverington Hawks
59 Caps, 5 Goals (1 Cap, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Left footed and equally adept at block tackling, intercepting and the lost art of the ball-winning slide tackle, 'Zap' anchors the Starblaydi midfield. He's big and tough, with an engine to run all day long. Zap is the undisputed choice for the Captain's role, and has developed into a truly international class midfielder.

7. Marcello Di Bradini, LM, 22 - Iskara Daii
24 Caps, 6 Goals (4 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 level)
Yup, a Liga Starblaydia-winning with the Daii, now wearing the number 7 shirt. Excellent set-piece taker and an all-round forward-thinking midfield player who can make the difference between and average Starblaydi team and a great Starblaydi team as he tries to live up to the immense legacy of his ancestors.

8. Náin Mazarbul^, DM, 26 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
11 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Mazarbul is the rock of the Chief's midfield, a Dwarf who closes down, tracks back, breaks up attacks and breaks down opposition morale as he covers every blade of grass.

15. Will Anderson, C/DM, 22 - Hecia
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

16. Austin Dashwood, C/D/RM, 19 - Montepool Waves
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

22. Yujiro Fujiyama, AM, 20 - Hallad Reavers
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

Forwards
9. Ella Kabeya*, SC, 29 - Jhanna United
55 Caps, 27 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Scoring on her debut in the qualifiers for World Cup 77, Ella hasn't looked back in her career, and has since gone on to match the goal scoring feats of such players like Clayton Skye, Kelly Wu and Joe Copeland. Next on her hit list of modern scoring records is Vincenzo Natrionne's second-placed tally of 36 and though it's unlikely she'll reach the heights of Lena Kochanska's record of 61, Ella is undoubtedly the best Starblaydi striker of her generation

10. Anra Kolmkal*^, SC, 26 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
33 Caps, 11 Goals (4 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 level)
Anra made history as the first female Dwarf to be selected for the Starblaydi national team. Though female Dwarves make up around 10% of Ice Hockey and 3% of Football players in Karak D'Ragh, Anra was the first to break through and wear Starblaydi colours. With the usual Dwarven traits of great speed, stamina and a low centre of gravity, she's not the one to knock down the long ball, but she'll be on it quick as a flash with a powerful shot. And no, before you ask, she doesn't have a beard.

11. Mezna Rayyen*, SC/LW, 21 - Vecchio Victors
12 Caps, 3 Goals (3 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
She broke on to the scene by scoring a hat trick against Jabok in World Cup 79 Qualifying to give Starblaydia a 6-5 win. Though she hasn't yet added to her tally, having mostly been used as a substitute, Mezna Rayyen completes an all-female front three for Starblaydia for the first time in the national team's history. Fast, great at dribbling and with a lovely snap shot, she's certainly one for the future.

17. Ángel Nicolás Jiménez, SC, 22 - Paricone Athletic FC
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
.

18. Luciano Da Cunha, CF/SC, 25 - Iskara Daii
11 Caps, 4 Goals (4 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Even though his team finished bottom, 48th out of 48th of the entire Liga Starblaydia pyramid, Da Cunha was the one young bright spark of the Tournetas side. It was only a matter of time before he'd gain a transfer out of the side, but no-one expected that he'd climb 47 places to the Daii, defending Liga Starblaydia champions.

23. Aaron Cole, SC, 18 - Corinthian Spirits
Uncapped (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
What is this guy, like, the fifth or sixth of this damn Cole family at the Spirits? At 18, Aaron Cole is the baby of this bunch, but he's deadly in the 18 yard box and has the speed and technique to break into it.

The Nuovoserone Football Association Presents
La Squadra di Cavalli

Nuovo Serone is a tiny island chain in the middle of nowhere, but closest to Atlantian Oceania, without really having any major interactions with any of these countries, except from watching the Cosumarite Harlighet Ligan from Juven paid services. Most of the trade and commerce of Nuovo Serone usually takes places with former Juven colonies, Al Qurija as well as the master nation, Juvencus itself. Football, as expected, is the most popular sport in Nuovo Serone, by far, since the Nuovoseronese population is almost completely homogenous consisting of 98% ethnically Juven people out of its population of 1,250,000. The Nuovoseronese Football Association though, in an attempt to start some relations to other Atlantian Oceanian nations, has signed itself up for the AOCAF Cup, the regional after world cup competition in order to test the team's strength and abilities. The team is codenamed "La Squadra di Cavalli" or in English "The team of horses" due to its very aggressive and fast-paced playstyle but also due to all the team's players coming from Cavalli FC, a Nuovoseronese local club that earned the rights to represent the country after a nation-wide tournament was held to determine which team is to represent Nuovo Serone in the upcoming AOCAF Cup.

SULTANATE OF OONTAZ DERT LI NG
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

This is the sixth time that Oontaz Dert Li Ng will be participating in the AOCAF. Oontaz got through undefeated in the group stage of the Baptism of Fire 61 but was knocked out in the round of 16 by Arioslavia. The nation is a mix of Muslims and Catholics, with the Mohammedans concentrated in the northern part of the country and the Christians living mostly in the southern islands. Despite a turbulent early history which saw both religious groups fighting constant wars and rebellions, by the time Abanhfleft came and "occupied" the nation in 1921, a general "peace" had settled between the two groups, and today both are content to consider each other as Oontazniks. Despite being a sultanate, the freedom of religion is valued by the nation, although it would be good advice to say that while the Catholics and Christians might be welcoming, even accommodating, to foreigners of strange new religions, the Muslims might not be so welcoming.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Sultanate of Oontaz Dert Li Ng
Demonym: Oontaznik
Team colors: Green and white
Style modifier: -2.0 (Defensive this time around)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Juan Dominador "Ador" Macaspac (40 y/o, Oontaz Dert Li Ng)

STARTERS
GK: Karim ANSARIFARID 34 y/o, Pasargad Manitogoro Image, captain
In the old days, Karim Ansarifarid was Mr. Oontaz. These were the days when Karim was the first choice keeper of Riuwiee United and Georges Leblanc. And then Karim was surprisingly sold back to his old Oontaznik club Pasargad Manitogoro and while Karim's goalkeeping skills didn't diminish, going back to his homeland seemed to have made Emir Usamah (the old manager of the team) forget all about Karim and his contributions to the Oontaznik national team during their historic run to the Coalition Cup (an informal tournament held between the national teams of Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz, and Copper Cuprum). Following Oontaz's (unsurprising) exit in the Round of 16 of AOCAF 52 to Osarius, Ador Macaspac remembered that Karim still exists and called him back up to the squad.

RB: Marcus Oliver "Marco" PORTENCIO 24 y/o, Electric Yugal Image (Abanhfleft)
Marco Portencio is one of the new faces on the Oontaznik national football team following the sacking of Emir Usamah and the elevation of Ador Macaspac from star striker to new team manager. Marco is a quality right back who is already showing flashes of world-class brilliance, kind of like a cheap Oontaznik version of Hector Bellerin. He has pace in buckets, and he is also good for scoring a goal or two per season.

RCB: Makhdoum MACARAIG 36 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image (Abanhfleft), vice-captain
Decent Oontaznik center backs can be hard to find, especially decent Oontaznik center backs in their early 30s or so, because in their day, attack was favored very highly over defense in the Oontaznik leagues, and therefore few 30-years-old-or-so Oontaznik defenders are actually any good at defending. Makhdoum Macaraig is one of those few rare defenders. His slow speed and ponderous build meant that he was never really suited to be anywhere near an attacking role, but that hasn't stopped him from having a good career at Abanhfleft's Locomotive Imgortur, which plays in the Fleftic Premier League. Perhaps there really are players who were meant to play in one league and not any other league.

LCB: Honesto CAMPANILLA 28 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Sometimes it is lamentable that in a competition where experience and leadership would be most valuable in a back line, all that could be scraped up was a single slow defender who somehow made it big in Abanhfleft's top flight, and a bunch of young talent that could make it or break it at any day. Campanilla, or Estong as he likes to be called, has slightly more potential than the other defenders in the team, and he also has a slightly higher chance of being an actually good player than the others. Sure, he slide-tackles at every opportunity, and it is easy for an experienced forward or even midfielder to get him booked, but Estong only has to learn to not swing himself around like a mace and he could make it big like his big partner in the center, Makhdoum Macaraig.

LB: Martin OPULENCIA 25 y/o, Real Mikkaleth Image (Abanhfleft)
Another new face from Ador Macaspac's new look Oontaznik team. Martin is a resolute left back who doesn't shrink away from making any challenges, even against players normally acknowledged as "untouchable" by other teams' defenses. He is content to remain at the back, defending his goal when needed, but sometimes he might be commanded to come up for an attack, and he doesn't shrink away from scoring a goal or two per season either.

DM: Timothy SAN MARCELINO 29 y/o, General Santos FC Image
Of course it wouldn't be a real Oontaznik football team if a Santos player wasn't there. And in this part of the team, it looks as if Emir Usamah has finally assembled a team capable of making it through the World Cup qualifiers with at least a few draws and maybe a win or two. SanMar, as he's called by Oontaz fans, is, as his position states, a defensive midfielder, meaning that his main purpose is to break up any attacks attempted by the opponents before they reach the pitiful defense and the sadly shocking goalkeeper. It's a job that he does well enough that he's earned a starting spot in the most prestigious team in Oontaz Dert Li Ng.

CM: ABU NAYEF Ismailuddin 29 y/o, Pasargad Manitogoro Image
No one really thought much of Abu Nayef's inclusion to the national team since he was one of those players who was good enough in the league to get a spot in the national team, but not good enough to get a starting spot. But he's starting to earn a spot in Emir Usamah's team sheet, since he's turned out to be one of the surprise players of Oontaz's World Cup qualifying campaign. By now, he's a shoo-in for a spot on the bench, and if the going gets tough, he can handle a starting spot.
IMPORTANT: This player should be always referred to as Abu Nayef since Ismailuddin is a patronym.

RM: Haider ZULFIKAR 31 y/o, Riuwiee United Image (Abanhfleft)
Sometimes it can be such a shame when a good and promising player like Zulfikar ends up rotting on the bench, being unable to help his team even though he knows that he just might be the final piece of the puzzle that rescues a league campaign gone horribly wrong. Zulfikar was a member of the infamous Riuwiee United team that blew an eight-point lead at the summit of the Fleftic Premier League and turned it into an insurmountable five-point gap between first and third, where the Blue Tribesmen ended up to allow their rivals Arsenal de Releinthi to claim the title. Now, with the likes of Shinji Ikeda and Hamengkubuwono sold off or relegated to the bench, Zulfikar now has to show that he could be the change that Riuwiee and Oontaz Dert Li Ng needs.

CAM: Karimabdul DIMAINTINDIHAN 30 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC Image (playing in the Fleftic Premier League)
Karimabdul became a rising star within both Abanhfleft and Oontaz when he scored a number of brilliant goals for Thereisnogodistan in the now-defunct Multiverse Premier League. His stock only rose up even further with his contributions to helping Thereisnogodistan get promoted to the Fleftic Premier League. He is the playmaking kind of attacking midfielder, setting up his teammates in scoring positions and holding up the ball if necessary. If he has a weakness, though, it's that sometimes he waits until he's crowded by the defense before making a pass. He's also making his first appearance for the national team since Magomedun Mangudadatu broke his leg in three places in an undislosed accident outside of the pitch.

LM: ZULFIQLI bin Alisher 28 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
Sometimes, there comes a time that a team becomes so full of talent in the midfield that someone has to be dropped for the sake of the other players. Zulfiqli was... someone who had this happen to him. Everyone knows of Godric Wexler's reputation for finding and producing world class players from relative unknowns. He had done much the same with Zulfiqli, but unfortunately for the Oontaznik, his quality only appeared when Wexler had finally fixed his problems in his midfield. He knew that Zulfiqli would need starting minutes if he was to keep his spot in the starting eleven of the Oontaz national team, and that's why he was loaned to Pridnestrovia's Union Rheinburg. And now Zulfiqli's a vital component to the Eisern Union's surprise title challenge in the Pridnestrovian Super League.
IMPORTANT: This player should always be referred to as Zulfiqli since bin Alisher is a patronym.

FW: GODZILLA 32 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Full name Zito Leandro Gomes de Araujo. Godzilla got his nickname because of his spinal vertebrae sticking right through his skin, giving him the appearance of being the legendary kaiju, at least in terms of the dorsal spines. Godzilla (the player) is actually quite short for a forward, but that only means that he's got a low center of gravity which makes it difficult for the opposition to tackle him unless they really commit to it in which case it often results in a yellow or a red card. Godzilla used to be a fixture in the Oontaznik national team and this was the reason why Godric Wexler picked him up for Arsenal but both Godzilla and Arsenal were going through a rough patch when Emir Usamah was assembling his World Cup qualifying team and he didn't even give Godzilla the time of day then. But now that Ador Macaspac is managing the team, he's bringing back his old teammates for a renewed push at the AOCAF title.

RESERVES
GK: Septimio BARRANQUILLANO 32 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao Image, alternate captain
Maranao is renowned in Oontaz as being one of the best football academies, if not the best, in the country. It also has a reputation of producing good goalkeepers from its ranks. Unfortunately, Septimio is not one of those good keepers. Sure, he's decent, and can pull off a save that could be considered world-class, but for all intents and purposes, if he really was one of the good keepers, he would not be playing in Oontaz anymore, especially not for a mid-table side like Botafogo.

GK: Usamah ROBERTS-INGLES 24 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao Image
At least Botafogo's goalkeeper academy produced another good one. Unfortunately for him, he's both too young to be the national team's starting keeper, and he's also the son of a marriage between an Oontaznik and a foreigner, so discrimination is coming into play in here. But not by much, because he's so good and the other keepers are so... crap that Emir Usamah had no choice but to call him up even though both of them know that goalie Usamah won't get to play while Emir Usamah's the manager.

DEF: Alimuddin DIMAGIBA 35 y/o, Deportivo Mangudadatu Image
Alimuddin is probably the only reason why Deportivo Mangudadatu is still in the National League even though the team is basically relegation material. He's the only player on that team who looks like he still gives a f--- if the team wins or loses. All of the other players around him is his club look like they don't even care anymore, and it's a wonder why he hasn't asked to be transferred to another team. Maybe because he knows that only Mangudadatu's rivals, Racing Al-Ampatuan, would be willing to buy him for the inflated price that he knows that Deportivo will attach to him. If he has any fault in him, it's that he's too loyal to something and would not, could not let go even given time.

DEF: Zenofilo BATOBALANI 29 y/o, Racing Al-Ampatuan Image
It's not a real Oontaznik national football team if there isn't any player from Racing Al-Ampatuan in the roster, and Batobalani fits that role nicely. Al-Ampatuan used to be one of the biggest teams in Oontaz, constantly competing with Santos and Botafogo for titles and cups, but lately they've been on a bit of a decline, and now they're considered relegation fodder just like their traditional rivals, Deportivo Mangudadatu. Batobalani once had a future of being one of the greatest Oontaznik defenders of all time, and not just the present time but of all time. But instead of moving on to more prestigious teams and letting his talent get noticed, he decided to stick it out with the constant relegation scraps between Mangudadatu and Al-Ampatuan. Perhaps it would be prudent not to mention the loaded contract that he was given by the team owners, who have been accused of masterminding one of the greatest massacres in recent history, and also one of the biggest benefactors of the nation's endemic corruption culture...

DEF: Albert James DIMACATARUNGAN 31 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Dimacatarungan's surname means "unfair" in the Mayin language, but this time, there's nothing unfair about his being on the bench. Dimacatarungan shouldn't even be anywhere near the Oontaz national team, but since he's a member of Clan Dimacatarungan, he gets a spot in the final roster. At least Emir Usamah isn't stupid enough to choose him over Estong Campanilla who, as said before, has, at least, a definite chance of becoming an actual quality player instead of Dimacatarungan, who is just plain shit. Strange to see him still in the team now that Emir Usamah is gone...

DEF: Jericson SARIMANOK 25 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Gryphons are currently the team with the best defense in the Oontaz National League, so it's actually no surprise that a lot of their defenders have been called up for national duty. What is surprising is that Jericson is not playing with the starting eleven and is instead languishing on the bench with the rest of the reserves. Oh, wait; there is a logical explanation for this: Oontaznik clan politicking. Emir Usamah does have to balance clan politics with creating the best Oontaznik team there is, and Jericson was just one sacrifice in many on the altar of clan politics.

MID: Ronson "Ronnie" RAMIREZ 27 y/o, Revanigruud Riversharks Image (Cosumar)
Georges Leblanc spent 5 million new penenks to get Ramirez from Real Altamarino to the May 26 Memorial, but it seems a little bit too soon to say if he's had any impact in the Blue Tribesmen, and Leblanc has seen it fit to loan Ramirez out to Real Mikkaleth, who will be making to make yet another promotion push next season. Ronnie is more of a winger than a proper midfielder, but since Oontazniks never really believed in investing in proper wingers, Ronnie can fill in for that central midfield role, but not as well as when he's deployed as a real winger. Still, at least he's got a chance of breaking through and becoming a good and decent player, unlike the majority of the rest of his teammates.

MID: Macario "Mac-Mac" CORTES 28 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)
Yet another promising Oontaznik youngster lured away from his home by the prestige and glamour of the Fleftic Premier League. The good thing is that Emir Usamah is setting up the team for the future, meaning that he's getting the most promising young Oontaznik players and getting them playing time with the senior team, which he knows will eventually be replaced by the youngsters once the veteran players grow old and retire. At least his reasons for being on the bench are much more justified than the others: he's still a little bit too young to be playing in the first team, and Magomedun Mangudadatu is still the best in the game in his position as CAM, which is also Mac-Mac's favored playing position. At least he gets to learn from one of the best.

MID: Josef "Joey Boy" MACALACAN 31 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
Joey Boy is the classic box-to-box midfielder, balancing offensive and defensive duties and covering as much of the pitch as possible. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to focus on one specific duty for too long, and by the duty he could mentally shift himself from being an attacking player to a defensive player or vice versa, it's often too late, and the defense had been overrun by a competent opponent.

FW: Felix NAVIDAD 24 y/o, RCD Baler Image
Out of the surprise team of the season is the Young Player of the Season of the 2023-24 Oontaznik First Division. Felix is all about pace, pace, and more pace. He also makes use of his ability to turn on a dime to roam all over the pitch and distract defenders. Yes, this does mean that he doesn't score a lot of goals himself for a forward player but does it count when it's his ability to pull defenders away that results in his teammates scoring anyway?

FW: MARCRIS Mas 24 y/o, Sportif Ab Gon Image (Copper Cuprum)
Now here is a player whom no one was expecting to be anywhere near a football team, let alone the Oontaznik national team. Marcris was born Maricris Mas, a woman, and had actually participated in the women's teams of Vigan Athletic and then Botafogo de Maranao before undergoing sexual reassignment surgery and revealing himself as a transgender man just about two years ago. His uncertain status has forced him out of Oontaznik clubs but he has found a new home in Ab Gon in Copper Cuprum. His main assets are strength and hold-up play but he also has a beautiful flick that looks absolutely fine when it connects with another teammate. But when said flick ends up sending the ball straight to the opposition, it's a wasteful and needless tactic.

FW: Eduardo ESTEVEZ 28 y/o, FK Torpedo Telgrad Image (Arioslavia)
Eduardo is a decent striker for his age, and there's definitely room for him to grow and take up Ador Macaspac's mantle when Oontaz Dert Li Ng's star striker finally decides to hang up his boots. But it looks like this won't be the case, as Teofisto Abcede surprised everyone else and took over Estevez's spot as Macaspac's backup striker option. Still, there's no denying that Eduardo can become one of Oontaz's best strikers after the age of Dominador Macaspac draws to a close, but it's up to him to realize that potential. Santos FC sold him to Arioslavia's FK Torpedo Telgrad in exchange for Alexey Bulganin. Now starting in place of the retired Ador Macaspac, who has become the new team manager after Emir Usamah was sacked.

Cosumar National Team
AOCAF LV

National Information

Name: The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Government: Cosumar is a Fiefdom divided into 21 historical 'Fiefs' (jurisdictions of power in ancient feudal Cosumar) that essentially now function as provinces. Cosumar's government is an executive constitutional monarchy, which means that the crown does wield significant governing power but is limited therein by a Constitution and Royal Congress. Cosumarite society is dedicated to complete rights and respect for all sentient beings, advancement of science, conservation of nature and space exploration. Cosumar has the highest Human Development Index in Atlantian Oceania according to WA Census, and is in the Top 1% of the world's Most Developed, Cultured and Intelligent nations. King James II has continued Cosumar's tradition of encouraging technological progress and immigration while simultaneously maintaining our diverse natural features and unique culture.

Region: Atlantian Oceania (far Northeast | COCANEFA)

Nicknames: Primarily Vanquishers (since WC 72) or, traditionally, Azure Dragons

Colors: Navy, Royal Blue, Silver, White

Stadium: Farris Crowley Memorial World Cup Stadium at The Royal Palace (capacity 105,000)
Image
This shiny new behemoth was built specifically to host the World Cup 78 Final and become the first stadium in Cosumar to hold 100,000. Mouthful of a name aside (it's already becoming known simply as "Crowley Memorial"), the stadium is a beacon of Cosumarite efficiency. Sleek, simple and elegant in design, bathed in gold to match the King's own decadent residential palace just a block away. The regular tenants are the club King James owns: four-time HL champions OAS Royal FC. It is named after Farris Crowley, who served as the manager of the national team for nearly 40 years and took Cosumar to its first seven World Cups and died shortly before its completion.

Ramusok itself? It's the capital city. Home of the royal family, King's Congress and 14 million others. Epicenter of historic dynasties. Bastion of knowledge and creativity. Young and eccentric, yet clean and elegant. Ramusok is the crown jewel of Cosumar, the pinnacle of a thousand years of Cosumarite civilization. There are centuries-old libraries and museums everywhere. Yet Ramusok also boasts some of the most stunning abstract modern architecture in the world, coexisting with the ancient in harmonic balance. Just see the all-glass resorts and offices overlooking the water on Azure Lane. The nightlife is extravagant thanks to the young and "hip" population (Ramusok Capital University definitely contributes). Make sure to catch some of the live music at night - there are venues specifically dedicated to genres ranging from black metal to indie pop to avant-garde jazz. As a multiversal city, people and species of all kinds congregate here, though the city does still retain a strong Swedish component leftover from the old Albertsson dynasty - evident in many of the place names. Pleasantly moderate for much of the year, though there are four definite seasons.

FA: Fiefdom Soccer Federation (FSF), headqurtered in Kaldukosic, Cosumar

Team History

Snapshot: Cosumar made its international debut in World Cup 51 and Finals debut in World Cup 54. In World Cup 73, new manager Gethin Ramsey built on the momentum from winning the preceding Cup of Harmony to qualify Cosumar for the first time since World Cup 62, ending a miserable 20-year drought. Since, the Vanquishers have advanced to five consecutive World Cup knockout rounds and three Quarterfinals. With the program now reestablished as a contender and hosting the big event for the first time, expectations are higher than ever. A first ever trip to the semifinals is the goal.

Expanded History: Cosumar qualified for six consecutive World Cups (54-59) in its original "golden age" of soccer, going out twice in the group stage and then four times in the Round of 16. After World Cup 59, Cosumar reached its peak ranking of #7 in the world. The National Team began a gradual decline in World Cups 60 & 61, in which they were eliminated in the Qualification Playoffs despite strong campaigns. They would qualify once again for World Cup 62 in Astograth, but the downward trajectory had already set in. World Cups 64-66 were particularly bleak and saw our once-elite ranking dip as low as the 80s. Many demanded the sacking of Farris Crowley, manager since WC54, the glory days of his tenure a distant memory. But the FSF stuck with him, and Cosumar began re-emerging as a force to be reckoned with around World Cup 68. A marvelous crop of young talent (Francois Renault, Alexander Pearce, etc.) now lovingly referred to as the "Renaissance Generation" started to restore the former honor to the Dragonshirt. They led several increasingly competitive Qualifying and Cup of Harmony campaigns...though they never did manage to return to the biggest stage. They came so close time and time again, but Margaret was never on their side. Their generation's swansong ended up being 3rd place at Cup of Harmony 62. But then the next cycle, World Cup 72, was a rough transition and threatened to erase all the momentum. It was a colossal disaster. The worst campaign since Cosumar's WC51 debut. Eight draws against lower-ranked sides. Farris Crowley was finally sacked after 40 years. Nephara legend Gethin Ramsey arrived and salvaged Cosumar's ranking by winning the subsequent Cup of Harmony. Ramsey continued to work wonders afterwards, leading his "Vanquishers" to five consecutive World Cup Finals (73-77), including our best-ever finish (Quarterfinals) three times. The Cosumarite game continued to grow in Ramsey's wake. For the first time, Cosumar won the right to host the World Cup for the 78th edition and new manager Alexander Pearce led the team, once again, to the Quarterfinals. Off the hosting high, Cosumar went on to win AOCAF LIV and the ensuing Eagle's Cup. With a talent pool deeper than any time in our history, the Fiefdom now sets its sights on defending its first regional title.

Recent Results:
World Cup 75 Qualifying: 1st place in Group 3 (8-3-1)
World Cup 75: 2nd place in Group H (2-0-1), eliminated by Unified Sunrise Islands in Quarterfinals
Eagle's Cup VI: 3rd place in Group B (3-0-3)

Most glorious moments:
Cosumar 1-0 Cotdelapoms - Cup of Harmony 45 Third Place Playoff - Late Rikki Varshney winner for our first medal.
Cosumar 4-0 Haginonia - World Cup 54 Interzonal Stage - Showdown on the final day of Qualifying with both sides' first World Cup berth at stake: we rolled.
Cosumar 1-0 Sarzonia - World Cup 57 MD3 - Cosumar advances to its first Round of 16 at Sarzonia's expense.
Cosumar 7-3 Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 60 Qualification Playoff - Brutal revenge against K&P for ousting us on penalties in the previous World Cup's Round of 16.
Cosumar 5-1 The Sarian - Cup of Harmony 64 Finals - Ramsey and the newly-christened "Vanquishers" propel Cosumar to lift a first WCC trophy.
Valanora 2–2 Cosumar (3–3 AET) (7–8 pen.) - World Cup 73 Round of 16 - After splitting the series in group play, we triumphed over the Elves to claim our first ever Quarterfinals.
Cosumar 2-2 Eshan (2-2 AET) (6-5 pen.) - AOCAF LIV Final - After three consecutive extra time wins to get to our first AOCAF Semifinals and Final, we took home the long-elusive regional trophy with another helping of late drama.

Most heartbreaking moments:
Cosumar 1-1 (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs) Churchma - Cup of Harmony 45 Semifinals - Losing on penalties always hurts, especially when it's to your oldest rival so deep in a tourney.
Cosumar 0-3 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 55 MD3 - It came down to this match for a spot in the Ro16, and we got our asses kicked.
Cosumar 2-4 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 56 Round of 16 - We finally made it to the knockout rounds for the first time, just to be humbled by these guys again.
Cosumar 1-4 Jeru FC - World Cup 57 Round of 16 - Another drubbing in the Ro16.
Cosumar 0-4 The Babbage Islands - World Cup 58 Round of 16 - New Cup, same story. Dragons fall apart in the knockouts.
Cosumar 3-3 (3-3 AET, 2-4 PKs) Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 59 Round of 16 - This is THE match that haunts the dreams of every Cosumarite to this day. We had rolled through our Qualification and World Cup groups in dominant fashion - completely undefeated. It was the greatest Cosumarite team ever assembled, seeming destined for new heights. In the Ro16, the Dragons led the Urchins 3-0 late and celebrations had already begun. But Chalia Sajid scored a flurry of goals for an unlikely hat trick in final 15 minutes to force extra time. In the eventual shootout, we would completely choke, badly missing the target twice. Complete and utter shock. Many wandered if Cosumar would EVER be able to advance to the quarterfinals and exorcise these demons. It took nearly 30 years.
Cosumar 0-0 (0-2 AET) Unified Sunrise Islands - World Cup 75 Quarterfinals - On the brink of our first ever semifinals appearance, we are sunk by a Kevin Stabb brace in extra time to lose our chance to play for a WC medal. This "cinematic" USI team, which came out of nowhere, would go on to win the whole thing, leaving Cosumarites wondering what could've been.
Cosumar 2-2 (2-3 AET) Chromatika - World Cup 76 Quarterfinals - Cosumarites come agonizingly close to tasting the semifinals once again. The Vanquishers twice give up their lead and fall in extra time despite Chromatika going down to ten men and infamously moving one of their star attackers to goalkeeper in desperation. Pure torture. The match that made Chromatika our greatest modern rivals.

Most Assists: 77 - Irvinn Rincon (WC 51-56)
Most Caps: 210 - Anders Engström (WC 67-77)

Team Information

Style Modifier: +2.3

Post-WC79 Ranking: #14 (KPB 34.36)

Formation: 4-3-1-2
Alexander Pearce is coming off his first full normal cycle in charge, and since it netted two trophies, he will continue the more attacking approach he initiated in the last AOCAF. A 4-3-1-2 that essentially functions like a 4-3-3 but with one of the strikers dropping back to play in the hole as a true #10 behind the other two. Filling that crucial role is wunderkind Isla Sibucic. Pearce has essentially crafted this formation around the budding star he unearthed as a teenager, hoping to maximize her unique talents as Reinhard Shale has done at Cornellians.

Tactical Breakdown: The play tends to flow somewhat narrow through this formation, with most chances being worked through the center rather than just channeling it wide and pumping in crosses like we did so often under Ramsey. This is ideal because of Sibucic's instincts pulling string in the middle, and because main strikers Valgard and Targaryen are much better finishers with their feet than their heads, although Zeale-Riddick and Ruhl are strong in the air. When the ball is won in the defensive half, the immediate outlet is usually Stig Söderquist in the middle instead of always finding the wingers like we traditionally did. LM Bellerophon Serafino covers crazy ground and can also materialize in the middle to receive an outlet before drifting back out to the left. The three-man midfield line can then choose to combine laterally with each other or find one of the three attacking players ahead of them. When they play directly to Targaryen or whomever up top, that sets up the magic situation... the striker can play to the feet of Sibucic 20 meters from goal, then make a cutting run to receive the ball back in on goal or create space for the other striker. Pearce has been working his young attacking corps relentlessly on these combinations this month. If defenses crowd and overcommit to the CAM in response, that's when the Vanquishers can involve the wide players and flex some width. This formation does, however, place a lot of strain on the LCM and RCM. They need to provide width in the final third, but then get back and squeeze narrower as the first line of pressure in the case of an opposition counter. Fortunately, work rate is a particular strength of Serafino and Bryger Tidesson. In essence, the "up the spine" style of play actually funnels the opposing team into the center of park, which makes the wide players all the more dangerous when the play does calls for them. A by-product of the “funneling” idea is that it forces the opponents to play narrow as well and therefore makes it easier to defend against them if that is not their usual style.

Note on Vloo: The roster consists of 23 players, 22 of whom are standard humans. The other player (defender Bacary Na'Kale) is of the Vloo people (species homo cosumarensis), a humanoid race native to Cosumar. Vloo are, on average, two inches taller than humans (which admittedly can come in handy on set pieces), and they must use different footwear due to their foot structure. Vloo have pale blue-tinted skin, two small black horns protruding from their foreheads, and spiky spines that be visibly seen from the back of their head/neck for some. And tails. They are distinguished by their surnames, with typically begin with prefixes such as Na', Va' or Vu'. Since World Cup 51, there has always been at least one Vloo player in the squad, but never more than four.

Cosumar's current kits were prepared for the team by Meski Soccer & Sports Store of Red Blackiland before the World Cup 75 cycle, our 50th anniversary in international competition. The design has been applauded by for improving upon the already-brilliant kits that served us from WC 71-74, while still staying true to the spirit of the beloved WC 54-69 classic kits. The home and away kits make heavy use of the national colours (blue, white, silver) and the majestic Cosumarite Azure Dragon that these lands are famous for. The goalkeeper kit features hints of the royal family's colors: Green and Gold.

First-Choice Starting XI

Goalkeeper - Cormak Lethbridge - 33 - Image Coret Hawks Image
Tall, spindly goalkeeper. The best parts of his game are his distribution, unflappable poise and organization -- earning the nickname "The Brigadier" for his command of the defense. Coret have been one of the most consistent defenses in the Premiership under his watch. Above average in the shot-stopping department too, though Lethbridge has been criticized for his perceived unwillingness to come out from the goal. Overall, he has done an admirable job in five seasons in Nephara since leaving FC Kaldukosic, making his several World Cup 79 starts well-deserved last cycle. It might not be a coincidence that FC Kaldukosic have since plummeted down to Sekundar Ligan without their "Brigadier"... Foreign spectators, however, may know him better as the husband of a certain Chromatik superstar named Gabriella Antonio.

Left Back - Bacary Na'Kale - 28 - Image Mâ Âlâmëómë Image
After cracking the Cassandra City first team on his 18th birthday and outshining established players, Na'Kale became the subject of a sudden rainfall of foreign bids. Mâ Âlâmëómë won Na'Kale's services and the Vloo further surprised by locking down the first-choice left back spot in Farfadillis almost immediately. At 19. Na'Kale has since played almost every minute of the last eight seasons now for the renowned club, helping them to Farf Liga titles and a Champions' Cup Final. His rise to club stardom has been mirrored in the National Team, in which he has registered a crazy amount of assists for a left back. Indeed, Na'Kale's calling card is his extraordinary offensive production from the fullback position. Last season, he somehow registered 15 goals and 20 assists for Mâ Âlâmëómë as they claimed 2nd. Na'Kale's pace helps with that, but it is his intrinsic understanding of the position and his defensive responsibilities that, when combined with his athleticism, touch and crossing, makes him so unique. He's the complete package. In with a shout as the best Cosumarite player right now.

Center Back - Peter Svensson - 32 - CAPTAIN - Image AFC Treason Image
The heart and soul of the Cosumarite defense since World Cup 74. The entire team looks to Svensson as a leader. A titanic figure for FC Jansberg through the entirety of its LigAnaia tenure and lately for resurgent AFC Treason, Svensson is universally recognized as one of the best defenders in the Premiership and indeed the world. He is a master of interceptions, looks as strong as he is, can dribble and pass out of the back comfortably and, most of all, is an infamous aerial threat on set-pieces. He'll contribute several goals per domestic season with his head. It feels like Svensson has been around forever, but people forget that he was only 19 when he started winning titles for Jansberg - and he was a homegrown standout for the Na'Ilee Mariners before that. People talk about Svensson as if he's an older player ("how is he still so good?"), but having only just turned 32, is actually still in a defender's prime. Peter is the nephew of Herrgly Svensson, a famous Cosumarite daredevil known for skydiving out of a space station, and little brother of Erak Svensson, a Congressman.

Center Back - Kurt Wolff - 25 - Image Real Azuris Image
At Pelethas United, Wolff was stereotyped as a typical brutish physical enforcer because of his bulk. And, to be fair, he did dole out his fair share of sore shins. The move to Real Azuris, however, allowed his full set of attributes to shine through in a more fluid system. Wolff isn't the best in the air (that's Svensson's job), but he brings a strength, steel and underrated technical nous to the back line that helped Azuris win the Domestic Double in 1011. Seems to have fully earned Pearce's trust and locked down a starting job for the foreseeable future. Wolff was finalist for Galactico of the Cycle after World Cup 79 and made the Boldsport XI.

Right Back - Tevreness Bale - 25 - Tanrısal Image
Rocinante Prep School, Cosumar's most prestigious private youth residency, prides itself on placing its graduates at top clubs around the Multiverse. Due to a strong network in Pasarga, this often includes SuperLiga clubs. Like classmate Ragnar Targaryen, Bale signed with a big Pasargan club after graduating from Rocinante at 17. Also like Ragnar, it took him several years to break into the first team and lock down a starting position, but Bale stayed focused on his goal and eventually succeeded. Lately, Bale has been rewarded for his efforts and commitment to improvement with increasing recognition from Pasargan media and his first Cosumarite caps in WC 79. He was stellar for Tanrısal last season as they took 2nd in the SuperLiga and advanced deep in the Champions' Cup. Bale is a modern wingback: tall with a long, gallant stride and some smooth dribbles to bypass defenders as he floods down the right side. Exquisite delivery on his cross, but still needs to get much better at picking the right pass. His one-on-one defending is also suspect at times when isolated. Probably most effective when Cosumar is playing weaker opponents and will have most of the possession, but will get a chance as a first-choice starter in this AOCAF.

Left Midfielder - Bellerophon Serafino - 28 - Image Cassandra City Image
It's apt that Serafino's parents named him after a pegasus-riding Greek hero. With long legs and galloping stride that rapidly eats ground, he's a true pegasus-like workhorse. Minus the flying. Though sometimes he gets from one end of the pitch to another so fast that opponents probably thought he flew. Each season, he breaks his own Härlighet Ligan record for mileage covered, holding Cassandra City's thinly-spread midfield together. Serafino was somehow still uncapped as recently as World Cup 77, but Alexander Pearce made it a priority to fix that after taking over. Belle has since cemented his place as one of the most important players for the national team over the last two cycles. His unheralded role in delivering Cosumar AOCAF 54 should not go overlooked. Pearce is again placing a lot of faith in Serafino, constructing the tactics around him so that he must contribute heavily in all thirds of the pitch and always be in place in time to do so. Serafino's playmaking ability on the ball is limited - he won't beat defenders with fancy skill or score many goals - but he can flow, move and combine with the best of 'em and whip some nice long balls in. Off the pitch, he's known for his satirical (we hope?) covers of popular rap songs on social media.

Center Midfielder - Stig Söderquist - 25 - Brinemouth Image
Stig is a sharp box-to-box midfielder. His best role is to hold, to cover for and feed more attack-minded partners. He doesn't do anything flashy to pop off the screen, but he does all the little things that help a team succeed. Always finishes with extremely high pass completion and ratio of successful tackles in midfield. He's a native of Azuris who joined Real's academy system at age 11 and gradually worked his way up to a starting position for the senior team over ten years. With Söderquist efficient beyond his years as the beating pulse behind the curtain in midfield, Real Azuris swept the rest of the Harlighet Ligan aside for several trophies (and two UICA titles). As far as tidy midfielders go, Söderquist is a rockstar now. A quietly superb player that any coach would love to have in their side. After a fantastic World Cup 78 on home soil, Söderquist followed Real Azuris manager Lujendra Mescalin to Brinemouth, where he now shines in arguably the world's best midfield.

Right Midfielder - Bryger Tidesson - 22 - Image Real Azuris Image
Ever since he scored in the Champions' Cup at age 16 and started the Cygnus Cup Final at 17, people have been certain of Bryger's destined greatness. With his teenage years now behind him, Tidesson is starting to fulfill that destiny. An everyday starter for Cosumar's highest-ranked club, he put up 16 goals and 9 assists en route to HL Golden Ball honors in 1011 and followed it up with 15 goals in 1012 despite a disappointing campaign for the club. Tidesson was named the Boldsport Young Galactico last cycle --- and it's easy to see why. He has everything you want in a winger. He's fearless, creative, technically and physically gifted and puts in effort defensively (even if a tad thin still). The only question is which celebrated 22-year-old will have the better career, him or Isla. The Tidesson train is taking off and, if it continues to accelerate at this rate, he might have that right wing spot locked down for the next decade.

Central Attacking Playmaker - Isla Sibučić - 22 - Image Cornellians Image
Take a look at this name and the one above her. Tidesson-Sibučić will likely be Cosumar's creative engine for a long time. Sibučić is a small, precious thing, but is a gifted playmaker. It's a wonder to watch her little blonde head zip all around the pitch and bring a defense to its knees. Sure, she's staggeringly quick, but the main way she makes up for her lack of physical prowess is by simply being a one-in-a-million technical prodigy. Whether it's free kicks, dribbles fit for a circus, or you-name-it... she's wondrous with the ball. It's tied to her sock. Last season, all of that promise began to translate into tangible on-field production with Schottic giants Cornellians. Sibučić has won a starting role and been a title-winning inspiration for them. Hailing from the dark subterranean colony of Fevelo, Sibučić naturally has very pale skin as well as rare purple eyes. She's part of an emerging trend of extraterrestrial-born players making bigger impacts in Cosumarite sport and idolizes former Cosumar captain Paaron Petrov - hitherto the only capped Fevelian.

Striker - Romikk Valgard - 26 - Ulsa Image
Arguably Cosumar's biggest star ever since he propelled us to the AOCAF 54 trophy, Valgard's rate of development has been dizzying. In the three seasons after West Gundar scooped the lad up from obscurity for $300k pocket change, he scored 9 goals, then 11, then 16 - the most of any Cosumarite in the Härlighet Ligan that season. Many thought Ulsa would be too big of a jump for him, but he didn't take long to find his footing at the Euran superclub, learning from Kris Campbell and notching double-digit goals his first season. Now a 27-goal man and EFA Golden Boot winner for Ulsa, Valgard has developed the touch, composure, two-footed ability (and ego) of an elite striker. His natural all-around athleticism, meanwhile, was always first-rate. Valgard can thrive finding a window on goal in tight spaces with ball underfoot or running into open space with bursting acceleration and finishing in a variety of ways. Valgard first announced his ability to the multiverse in World Cup 77. He grew before our eyes in six substitute appearances, scoring five goals, most of which late winners. Instant phenomenon! He's surprisingly weak in the air for someone of his height though, which Pearce has factored into the tactics. Also of note is that Valgard is the first player born on extraterrestrial colony Kalloroda to play for Cosumar. He also has a thing for bananas.

Striker - Ragnar Targaryen - 28 - Image CA Paulinthal Image
Ragnar signed with CA Paulinthal at 17 as a top prospect out of Cosumar's most prestigious private youth residency academy. At 23, he finally broke through as a starter at CAP after six years of simmering development. And what a whirlwind year it was! Solidifying himself as part of a lethal attacking trio alongside Valladares' Abel Brücke, Ragnar helped propel CAP to the Copa de Campeones Final. Last season, he was finally able to win the SuperLiga with Paulinthal, stepping up to lead the team with an insane 32 goals and taking home SuperLiga Player of the Year honors and being named THE Boldsport Galactico. The phenomenal season, combined with his chemistry with best friend Valgard, makes him a must-start for Pearce. Targaryen has the versatility, movement, stellar first touch and hold up/passing ability. He doesn't have Valgard's sheer pace, but he's a hard runner. And though he's below-average height, Ragnar is sturdily built and has natural heading ability when he can win the ball in the air. Last season, he also earned a reputation for clinical finishes from unusual angles on his way to 32 for CA Paulinthal. Off the pitch, Ragnar is heavily into sci-fi and fantasy fandom - a geek at heart. He's also a big fan of his hometown club, Mallox, and plans to return someday.

Remaining Squad

GK - Shjegrzh Na’Kefir - 25 - Image Handon United Image
The catlike Vloo became Keenan Athletic's first-choice goalkeeper at age 18 - a rare feat for a goalkeeper. In the years since, he has accomplished a lot. He guided the Checkers to promotion, the top half of the Härlighet Ligan and finally the SBCC Final with his nimble leaps and strong hands between the posts. Then, he earned a move to the Schottic champions and continued his strong performances in the SPL and Champions' Cup. Already being discussed as potentially the best Vloo goalkeeper ever, Na'Kefir is one of a few keepers on the shortlist to replace 37-year-old Jakk Winterfyll as Cosumar's #1. This AOCAF will be a testing ground for Pearce to further feel him out. Just don't mispronounce his first name. He hates it when people do that and is prone to slapping offenders... even teammates in the middle of a match.

LB - Berk Lechjakr - 24 - Ausharmuj Marusi Image
Four years after leaving the college circuit early to join Ausharmuj Marusi, Berk has gotten better with each passing season in Farfadillis. He arrived there as a physical, hard-nosed defender first and foremost, and still possesses those traits, but the Farf league has dramatically sharpened his attacking game as well. With his athletic fullback's frame, he gets up and down the pitch and makes good use of his powerful and accurate left boot. Farf fans have taken to calling him a "lesser Bacary Na'Kale". There are worse things to be known as! Alexander Pearce took notice, calling up to his first AOCAF as a reward for a great season.

CB - Torbjörn Jorgensen - 29 - Image Raynor City United Image
Tremendous defender with big championship-winning experience in Cosumar and LigAnaia. He doesn't offer anything fancy like passing range or dribbles, but he's a beast of a physical presence. Jorgensen defends aggressively and wears his heart on his sleeve in every match, protecting the goal from every cross, dribble or shot like his life depends on it. He's deceptively smart though, and does a good job controlling his aggression intelligently. That mentality has helped SC Rinaldi survive and begin to climb in the Vanorian Premiere League. His heroic efforts have seen him named to the league's Best XI year-in, year-out. Jorgensen was developed by the Real Azuris academy and broke into their starting XI at age 18, anchoring a title campaign. He was subsequently named HL Defender of the Year. At 18. His newfound stardom didn't go unnoticed and FC Jansberg subsequently added him to their collection of Cosumarite defenders alongside countrymen Soarhaven and Svensson. He won more titles there. When he played in Cosumar, fans of rival teams cruelly called him "pizza-face" because of his bad acne, which he still bears to a lesser extent.

CB - Taddeo Loredan - 32 - Starling Image
One of the best defenders in the Härlighet Ligan for ages, Taddeo was unwaveringly loyal to boyhood club AC Holmenkollen through that time, turning down the deep pockets of Real Azuris and Cassandra City. After guiding the Cedars to yet another stunning underdog UICA berth at 27, he finally felt like it might be time to try to do it on a bigger stage. Creed United came calling and Loredan settled in nicely in the Nepharim Premiership, earning another upward move to Starling ahead of last season. At 31, it might've been the best year of his career, landing on the bench of the Premiership Team of Season. Level-headed and excellent positionally, Loredan usually has one of the lowest card totals amongst defenders. A strong, quiet leader.

RB - Mortimer Chisenhall - 30 - Image Real Azuris Image
A prized product of the AC Holmenkollen academy, Chisenhall spent several years there as a young phenom before finally completing his long-awaited move to a bigger club at age 22. The biggest in Cosumar, in fact. He had a shaky start to life in Azuris, but has since become one of their most integral players. The last few years have seen Chisenhall emerge as the best defensive right back in all the Härlighet Ligan and ascend to the club's captaincy. He led an Azurian back line that dominated the league en route to another Domestic Double last season two years ago, and was instrumental in Real's astonishing Champions' Cup victory before that. Chisenhall's attacking capabilities are somewhat limited (though he did score his first two international goals in the last AOCAF), but he is a sublime one-on-one defender. You don't get through him or around him. Off the pitch, he's a quiet lad and almost always has his nose in a book.

LM - Tamer Yilmaz - 30 - Image Marinos Metropolis Image
Long on the fringe of the national team, former FC Kaldukosic product Yilmaz earned his first caps in the victorious AOCAF by completing the best season of his career in Valladares. Stepping up his consistency and becoming a key figure in the Marinos attack, he helped the club reclaim the Valladar Liga-1 title. With World Cup 79 caps under his belt, he returned to Marinos this season and further boosted his stock by being named Best Midfielder of Liga-1. At his peak right in this very moment, the former Cosumar U21 player has finally achieved his potential. He is a relentlessly technical winger who loves to get into the dangerous areas and take on defenders one-on-one.

CM - Warren Royannais - 29 - Longgeylin Coast Image
Smooth passer of the ball, great footwork, and a good amount of pace on him as well. Has the work ethic and confidence. There's real talent there, but Royannais long lacked the consistency and mental focus of an everyday top-level player, making only sporadic impacts. In the last couple seasons, however, he has been able to sustain it for Cednia Beach AFC and now Longgeylin Coast. Now considered one of the top players in Vilita and played a role in delivering Cosumar the last AOCAF as an impact sub. Spent part of his childhood in Vilita, where he was inspired by watching Jungle Strike FC, and returned there after just one breakout season at FC Kaldukosic at age 22. Has a definite Vilitan flair to his game.

CM - Denton Tapp - 30 - Image CA Paulinthal Image
Tapp has had a stellar yet strangely overlooked career, but has enjoyed a deserved resurgence in the NT under Pearce in the last two cycles. It's thanks to Tapp's own hard work. Giving up his newfound starring role at OAS Royal just one season after he helped them restore UICA status was an ambitious risk, but his desire to challenge himself in the then-superior SuperLiga payed off. Alongside Ragnar Targaryen, Tapp made his big breakthrough at Pauli at 25. And what a breakthrough it was, as he helped CAP score the most goals in the SuperLiga as an attack-minded center mid. Domestically considered mostly a holding midfield prospect with limited ability going forward, Tapp surprised onlookers from Cosumar by developing a propensity for making timely plays in the opposition half for Pauli. His energetic, ball-winning aerial ability (aided by his rather large head) is still there, but he has also become a better conduit going forward, even tallying a bunch of assists and goals. A box-to-box midfielder in the truest sense of the word, as he can make the difference on both ends.

RM - Corey Simmons III - 29 - Image OAS Royal FC Image
Ah, it's always good to see the famous Simmons clan represented in the team. Corey III earned his first caps in WC 77, joining his father and grandfather in the annals of Dragonshirt history. Whereas both Corey Simmons Sr. and Jr. were prolific poachers (combining for 60 goals in 125 caps in ten World Cups), CS3 is more of a swaggering right-footed winger. An illustrious and confident dribbler, truly filthy with the ball at his feet, but sometimes bites off more than he can chew and takes too many touches simply for the sake of showing off, losing the ball. Alexander Pearce will have to beat that out of him so he can be more efficient. He also needs to become a better two-way player & defender in this system. But Simmons III's skill is undoubted, and with his inherited pace and athleticism... he can be an immediate threat off the bench. He's an average shooter from distance, frankly (though he thinks he's much better), but is an excellent passer in the seams, crosser from the flanks, and penalty taker. Can act a bit of an entitled brat in the dressing room at times. Was part of an OAS Royal attack that tallied an extraordinary 95 goals last campaign, the highest number of any HL team in decades.

AM - Saltorius Splitt - 25 - Image Pelethas United Image
An unpredictable player who can be thrown on for a touch of electricity and unconventional creativity. He sees the game in unique ways and, when he's in the mood, can single-handedly bring a defense to its knees with his trickery. Saltorius was the driving force behind the great season Pelethas United just had, scoring 15 goals and assisting even more as the Miners earned their first Champions' Cup berth. He made supporters forget about the $10m sale of beloved local girl Rowan Varghese to Tihon. To add insult to injury, he now takes Varghese's place in the AOCAF for a shot at his first cap. An eccentric and zany personality off the pitch whose hobbies include things such as historical cosplay/reenactments, politician impressions, card tricks and model helicopter collecting.

ST - Airik Ruhl - 26 - Chenoworth Harriers Image
Ruhl is a monstrous forward, using his godlike body to dominate defenders, yet with a surprisingly soft touch and delicate technique for someone of his imposing physique. In his first Premiership season, he led Chenoworth to the Champions' Cup last with a remarkable tally of 22 goals. Most ever by a Cosumarite in the Premiership. Then he repeated it the next season. He's definitely a top striker now, as has been connected to Crisisbless rumors in the current transfer window. However, Ruhl's commitment to the game has been questioned in the past. He sometimes seemed like he couldn't be arsed to give full effort for Morponte Fief or Cosumar U21. The reputation has lingered despite his recent successes, though that may partially be due to his last name (Clan Ruhl had a long and nefarious history in Cosumar). He's not exactly a favorite of the domestic media either due to his decidedly un-Cosumarite manners and troubling criminal history, which you can read more about here. Has trouble getting along with some of his teammates.

ST - Vega Zeale-Riddick - 24 - Image Samaj FC Image
The woman who became known as The Princess of the Plains, VZR or even just "V" has earned her nicknames. With 73 goals in her three seasons as a starter since emerging from the Samaj FC academy, Vega has already won her share of accolades. Most notably, she broke Anders Engström's record for goals in a Härlighet Ligan season with 32. Vega will never be a particularly versatile or technical attacking force, but she is extremely good at what she does. Towering over most players and with springs for legs, she fits the mold of a prototypical target forward. She is a naturally gifted first-time finisher with her head or feet. Don't stereotype her game though - Vega is very nimble for her height and deceptively clever with the ball under foot in the box. She will be Alexander Pearce's go-to option when he wants to adjust to more direct tactics. As a starter in the victorious AOCAF last time around, he knows she can get it done in this competition. The public image of VZR is that she's something of a "spoiled princess", but in an endearing way. Most fans can't help but like the 24-year-old anyways. Off the pitch, she's very big into fashion design and is currently launching her own "VZR" brand of chic athletic clothes.

Manager: Alexander Pearce Image
Alexander Pearce, 51, is a Cosumarite legend at center back, and is the fifth person to manage the national team. He is also the first former player to do so. He has large legacies to live up to. Before him, Nepharim icon Gethin Ramsey held the job for five cycles and made five World Cup knockouts, also winning a Cup of Harmony. Before that, Farris Crowley held the post for nearly 40 years and took Cosumar to its first seven World Cups. What will Pearce's legacy be? Well, he's already proven to be quite gifted at building legacies. Just look at what he did in Schottia with Cornellians: overseeing the club's transition from the Multiverse Premier League to the SPL and going on to dominate that league with five consecutive titles. No one expects him to win five consecutive World Cups, but it's reasonable to expect great things - especially after winning AOCAF LIV and the Eagle's Cup in the same year. Pearce's credentials extend far beyond just being a once-great player. He possesses a well-rounded managerial skillset: studious tactical acumen, a creative eye for new talent, elegant motivational/persuasive speaking, effective organizational management and even shrewd handling of finances. Known for his ability to coordinate and guide others and effortlessly command attention.
Pearce comes from a family with deep roots in the sport and takes great pride in representing his family name and his country. In his playing days, he was a rangy, mobile defender who could play in the middle or at left back. He is a club legend at OAS Royal FC, having joined upon the Härlighet Ligan's inception and playing at The Royal Palace for sixteen years, winning four titles. Afterwards, he became a player-coach in the MPL for Cornellians, which was his transition into coaching. He played in a desolate era for the Cosumar national team, but appeared in one World Cup Finals and captained the side in WC 67 and 68 Qualifying. Full bio.

Assistant Manager: Casey Brind Image
With incumbent assistant manager Kennedy Kopenhaver bolting to fill the managerial vacancy at Mallox, Alexander Pearce has decided to recruit his assistant and ex-teammate from Cornellians to the cause. Casey Brind, now 43 years old, was a well-traveled midfielder in her playing days, which weren't too long ago, including stops at Iron City, Cranequin Wanderers, Raven River, Vermillion Rage and then ending at Cornellians. Pearce and Brind are well-oiled machine, a proven good team through recent glories at Cornellians. Brind will be hoping that the success translates to the international level, inspired by helping fill the void of Nepharim legend Gethin Ramsey. Maybe this is the start of a storied international managerial career of her own.

RS #26 Kyon Amestov (Age: 19)

Marcus Braeskan is one of those people who believes in youth over experience. With an exception of Giancarlo Montivollo, most of last edition's squad are replaced by younger, more talented players. Marcus did this to make sure they are loaded with fresh players and not old, 'outdated' veterans. This is why the midfield gets the most change with hidden gems like Minemaru Tsujimoto and Tyler Pryding, as well as Ethan Kreis who has potential to the next captain to replace Nam-Kan. Otherwise the formation is the same: 4-3-3.

For some reason, Damon Smith is no longer in this edition's squad. Rumor has it that he is caught taking drugs to enhance his performance and, as a result, got ban for international football. Others say that he was injured in a freak accident, somewhere on the car crash in the middle of the night. Perhaps no one knows what happen to him, though.

The quasi-governmental entity of Tropicorp are back again!

During AOCAF 50, Tropicorp put out a call amongst a subset of its scientists, researchers and engineers for support on an ongoing project. The project, which required exposure to competitive football, saw Tropicorp scientists, researchers, engineers and other such guinea pigs wearing special fabrics with electronic measuring devices sewn into them in order to aid in their measurements and calculations. The data collected during AOCAF 50 was absolutely invaluable to the project. During the cycle since, Tropicorp Engineers have been putting the data to the test at Tropicorp locations in Tropicoast and also at a new facility at an undisclosed location, also on Calania. During AOCAF 51, the scientists, researchers and engineers returned to collect some final data points to push them towards the final phase of the project. However, a strange thing happened during AOCAF 51 - the Tropicorp Scientists - perhaps a result of their own detailed research of the game, began not only to be competitive, but to win matches. The Techies actually qualified for the Knockout Rounds and stunned many with their performances until ultimately being knocked out by host and eventual champion nation Valanora.

After 4 Campaigns collecting data for their research, the moment has finally come. Their Cocoabo were ready for action and saw action during World Cup 78 Qualifying for Turori and during the XII Olympiad in Novanaya and Vekaiyu - with the Cocoabo team making it all the way to the Olympic final before losing to Darmen and earning the Silver Medal.

Now, with the initial round of research done, new data would need to be collected. This time, they would need to collect data regarding how well the Cocoabo could play as a Hybrid Team. That is, a team where Cocoabo play along side Citizens. The first set of data was collected during AOCAF LiV and data will continue to be collected during AOCAF LV in the Equestrian States.

Hybrid Squad Schedule:

Matchday 1:
GK: Techie / Cocoabo
DEF: Cocoabo Only
MID: Techie
FOR: Techie

Matchday 2:
GK: Techie / Cocoabo
DEF: Techie
MID: Cocoabo Only
FOR: Techie

Matchday 3:
GK: Techie / Cocoabo
DEF: Techie
MID: Techie
FOR: Cocoabo Only

Cocoabo Representative(s):
Cocoabo #88
Cocoabo #89

Defenders
There will be two scientists and two researchers on the field at any given time, with a further 2 scientists and 2 researchers working from the sidelines and prepared to step in if needed.

Cocoabo Representative(s):
Cocoabo #58
Cocoabo #57
Cocoabo #53
Cocoabo #59

Midfielders
As with the defenders, There will be two scientists and two researchers on the field at any given time, with a further 2 scientists and 2 researchers working from the sidelines and prepared to step in if needed. They will alternate between central and wing positions.

Cocoabo #46
Cocoabo #65
Cocoabo #64

Who says sports and politics don't mix? Matthias Mutebi, disgraced former owner of Mynda SC, throws hat into the political ring

Image
Matthias Mutebi, the Chairman of the Defiance Coalition

BUSUKUMA- Every single Banijan has heard of the corruption scandals that are currently enveloping the Banijan political system and that have just caused the government to fall. Of course, this has not made international headlines, and we generally don't report on political issues, but as everybody knows, sports do not occur in a vacuum. Sports and politics, though people do not want them to intersect, are simply perfect for each other. Sports provides a massive platform, and sports generally is not as divisive as politics. That is why politicians, in all countries and all systems, latch onto their local and national sports teams. Who doesn't want to be associated with the Kadongo Kamu, for example? Everyone loves them. Who in Herzegovina City doesn't support Herzegovina City FC, or support Northern Moravica University? They are symbols that transcend divides, and they will indeed, forever be mixed.

Banija is no exception to this rule, though it might not be what you expect. Matthias Mutebi is the former owner of BSL side Mynda Soccer Club, who was forced to sell the team to Damukuni company Electra, an electrical company in that country. He was seriously investigated for fraud, and this occured throughout the entirety of the previous season of the Banijan Soccer League. He was charged with misrepresenting company financial reports to the government and national tax authorities, after it was discovered that he took a secret million dollar loan from Blackwing Bank, a bank in Freeport, a nation closely aligned with the Equestrian States, who are Banija's closest neighbors.

The entirety of the investigation, he maintained his innocence, saying that he was the victim of a 'witchhunt' from politicians who did not like him. As one of the nation's 4 billionaires, he is the only one not aligned with either of the major parties, the center-right People's Protection Movement, who is currently the largest party in opposition, and the Free Justice Party on the center-left, who is currently in government. He is aligned with the far-right Defiance Coalition, who currently has a party record 18 seats in the 500 member Lukiiko. He reached a plea deal with both the BSL and the state, to avoid jail time. He agreed to sell Mynda Soccer Club, to donate half the proceeds to the BSL and the other half to pay fines, tax bills, and court costs. He accepted the deal, saying that the 'disgusting cabal that runs our state is conspiring to throw me in jail, and I will never go to jail'.

Of course, now, one year removed from that ruling, the script has turned on its head. There are two major developments- the RTC corruption scandal, and the death of Pa Uster. Pa Uster was the longtime leader of the Defiance Coalition, which was a breakaway offshoot of the Christian Patriots League. Both parties firmly on the right, the Christian Patriots League focused more on religion, while the Defiance Coalition focused more on ethnicity and race. The Defiance Coalition has been largely condemned as a 'suicidal' party in terms of Banija's economic interests, and a disgusting, racist party. The Defiance Coalition is known for being particularly critical of Banija's emigrant community. While very few people immigrate to Banija, there is a large brain drain from Banija, as large numbers of Banijans work in countries all across Atlantian Oceania and beyond.

Pa Uster, the previous leader, even said in a speech one time that those people were 'traitors to their race'. The Defiance Coalition, specifically, focuses on the Kasanke people, an ethnicity that comprises 65% of Banijas, and also is basically the only group that has people emigrate abroad. Pa Uster, however, died 3 months ago, in a car crash outside of Istria. And now, Matthias Mutebi, who essentially operates as the party's bank, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Party. He is elected in what is seen to be a fertile political environment for somebody to be elected the Chair of this Party, as the RTC corruption scandal grows.

The Regional Transit Corporation is, or rather, was, Banija's largest corporation. Starting simply as a taxi company, they got out of the taxi and boda boda business when they realized that the real money to be made was abroad. With bylaws written in to ensure that the majority of the controlling shares are owned by Banijans, they moved their headquarters very recently to Rosaria, Eshan. They operate state of the art public transportation systems in countries all over the map, even in places as far away as the Hudson Islands in Placid Ocean. They do everything from bussing, to trams, to everything in between. Stuff that couldn't operate in a country like Banija, with the lack of money.

But, of course, the Regional Transit Corporation has a couple of very profitable operations in Banija. They operate the train that goes from Istria City International Airport to Downtown Busukuma, a 5 hour train ride that they have the sole rights to. They also operate the ferry between the two Busoga Islands, and make crazy amounts of money off of it. The original scandal came in that regional government, when it came out two months that the Busoga Islands, in preparation for hosting the World Twenty20 Championships, wanted to build a bridge between the islands, which are only two miles apart, and the RTC bribed up to 2/3s of the members of that regional Parliament for that to be voted down. But that was nothing compared to the stunning report released about 6 weeks ago by the Banijan Attorney General.

The Attorney General(who is a non-partisan figure in Banija) released a report stating that the Regional Transit Corporation has had members of both major parties on their payroll for years. As everyone knows, the RTC is paid a massive $15 million NSDs per year by the government to operate the istria-Busukuma train, which goes basically the length of the entire Banijan coast. It is shown to implicate top figures in both parties, and that even the parties themselves both own stock in the Regional Transit Corporation, and get payments from that company to help fund their campaign. Banijan politics, since then, has been in an uproar. There has been protests, there has been resignations, and it is likely that the FJP/CRU coalition government will not survive this scandal.

The FJP or the PPM has led every single government since independence in 1906. Will that no longer be true? Matthias Mutebi has massive name recognition, and is likely to find himself leading in the polls. It is possible that he could lead a coalition with the Christian Patriots League, if things break his way. The Collective Resistance Union, the socialist junior partner in government, has not been implicated, but they will probably fall as well due to being in government while this happened, and sticking by the FJP for the first few months of this crisis. We might have upcoming the craziest political scenes in the history of an independent Banija- can a business mogul, convicted of fraud just one year ago, become the Katikkiro of Banija? We'll have to wait and see.

For competition in the 55th AOCAF
Right: An artist's rendition of Solara Vol, star Mriinian striker (in her Sabrefell Moths duds).
Style: 4-3-3, +3
Colors: White with blue at home, Blue with gold away, keeper is in all Purple.

Note that most players (and the majority of Mriinians) are satyrs, as pictured, though with a variety of skins tones--mostly in various shades of blue, purple, and red. They're on average very tall, along the lines of human professional basketball players, and specialize in aerial play thanks to the elevated header control courtesy of their horns. Their stature also lends itself to a fast and aggressive attacking game, leveraging long strides, high stamina, and imposing presence to pressure and wear down the opposition. While there are certain Mriinians who show a phenomenal amount of dexterity on the ball, they're generally strikers--small, quick humans that can "get under" the backs have been a problem spot for the team, as well as a generally weaker grasp of the defensive game.

Manager - Don Mizzet - Image Vidial Alchemists
While normally a cool and calculating mastermind, Don tends to lose himself in the game and favor an attacking style. He still does his prep work, though, and his analysis--combined with that of his protege, captain Joren Kreuger--have given Mriin an edge that launched them directly to the near-top of international football, breaching the Top 20 in the world rankings in just three cycles.
Assistant Manager - Janna Kurung - Image AFC Hosingr
While 36 isn't too old for a satyr, Janna was never the most athletic player, and decided to hang things up early--make some more room for younger players looking to get exposure. She fulfills the 'team mom' role, handling much of the logistics and morale problems, as well as directing practices when Don is off on business (which is much of the time). She's much more defensively-minded, but the team's current success with high-pressing tactics has had her back down from that particular line of debate.

GK - Zilia Hawsorn - Image Maal Angels
A towering presence even for a satyr, Zilia commands from the back of the Angel's unparalleled defense. However, due to extenuating circumstances, that defense hasn't been able to represent the nation--leaving Zilia to do the best she can with the scraps left behind and a goal-focused gaffer.
LB - Uhlon Loft - Image AS Bezieres
Geraard's former left-hand man, Uhlon is a brute that relies more on intimidation than skilled play on the ball. He's still got a quality defensive acumen, though, knowing when and where to be a wall of flesh.
CB - Geraard Tavol - Image Bruul Skewers
While the Skewers are known for their dirty play, it always fell upon Geraard to be the solid base that'd stay on the ref's good side to keep things running. He's not the greatest player in the world, with neither of the defenses he leads setting the world on fire, but he's a calming presence in the clubhouse... and is mostly still here through momentum.
CB - Reina Kress - Image Myana Islanders
Still not yet quite to come into her own, but Geraard has faith in her and convinced Don to keep her in the starting eleven. Reports out of Chromatika say she's a potential bright spot in what is otherwise one of the worst defenses in their Premier Division (but they still managed a Champion's Cup berth, so something must be working?); we'll see if that can be realized any time soon.
RB - Vernan Quill - Image Vidial Alchemists
One of the more quiet cast members, Quill dutifully does his duty with a quick stride, more athletic and less aggressive. Considered to be the best piece of the Alchemists' surprisingly average defense, come off a good season enabling their offense just enough--just to lose out on the title to a ridiculous Harbor side on tiebreakers.

LM - Malia Polandre - Image Marque
Hilda's counterpart, Malia pairs aggressive play with a penchant for quality crosses and giving keepers a workout with accurate long shots (even if they mostly don't go in).
RM - Hilda Iarrow - Image Maal Dæmons
A hard-chasing, hard-tackling midfielder that even has a decent finishing touch. She leaves the fancy setup plays to the rest of the midfield, mostly.
OM - Joren Kreuger - Image Vidial Alchemists (Captain)
Don's understudy, having worked together for years at Vidial's University of Alchemy, Joren is just as deep into the statistical side of the game as the dragon--but calmer under pressure. While a lot of the team's success is attributed to the manager's direction, it's Joren that makes sure everything translates onto the field. He's focused almost entirely on setting up his strikers, as well as the designated set piece taker, where he can take a moment to breath and make a flurry of quick mental maths.

ST - Lasser Rei - Image Harbor
A winger by trade, Lasser heavily favors the left flank, being a genuine threat to land a stellar cross as he is to run in it himself. His dynamic play lead Harbor to back-to-back MNL titles and consistently keeps him in talks for the best player in the league.
ST - Aldo Vocani - Image Barbury Town
Second fiddle to Solara, but still a very capable player. He's quick, if not blazing, and good on the ball, if not a master--more than anything, he's got a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Has been doing quite well for himself in Barbury Town, despite the team continuing to finish just short of UICA qualification.
ST - Solara Vol - Image Sabrefell Moths
The star herself, Solara's been making a name for herself--even getting a slot on Boldsport's Top Player Thingy long-longlist--both through being exclamation point of the NT's potent offense, and supporting Aaliyah Johnson in their dominance of the Nepharim Premier League (and often ending up near the top in goals scored, herself). She's tall, she's strong, and she's fast--but what really set her apart was her hoofwork, which is just a step above what any other satyrs can manage.

HISTORY

Franscesca Cortes era

Franscesca Cortes was the first manager of the National Team, leading them to a dismal record of a draw and two losses in the Baptism of Fire, and then a combined record of eight wins, four draws, and twelve losses in their first two cycles. The team was mired in a controversy concerning Luuk Aart's lineage, as the then Chromatik Party was trying to interfere with the team.

Lisa Amos era

Everything changed when Luuk Aart was exiled from Chromatika at the start of World Cup 75. Instead of giving him up, the team followed him into exile, and Franscesca Cortes agreed to be a sacrificial lamb after learning she had terminal cancer. With the full might of the Chromatik Party against them and the Rainbow Revolution rooting them on, the team mustered the greatest campaign so far, sneaking into the World Cup Proper, defeating the Royal Kingdom of Québec in the Round of Sixteen, and defeating Cosumar 3-2 in extra time with Gabriella Antonio playing keeper for overtime. Though the team lost rather badly to the Northern Sunrise Islands and then lost the third place game to San José Guayabal in penalty kicks, it was definitely the tournament that put the Chromatiks on the map.

In World Cup 76, with the Revolution in full swing, the team made it to the Round of Sixteen before losing to Barunia. Then, Amos announced she would be stepping away due to how important the team had become to the nation's politics. In her farewell tour, AOCAF 52, the team made it to the final before losing to Krytenia in an embarrassing fashion.

Silian Parker era

It was then that Parker was asked to take over the team. His first time around, in World Cup 77, the Chromatiks made it to the Group Stage before crashing out. This made the lat World Cup even more important, but the team redeemed themselves by making it to the Quarterfinals, defeating Valladares in the Round of Sixteen, before losing to future champions Electrum in the Quarterfinals. This has put Parker back into the CFF's good graces.

The 79 Qualifying Cycle has been full of challenges, especially the hospitalization of Mia Ria and the first loss of qualifying in two cycles. That being said, the Chromatiks did qualify atop their group, and maintained a top seed in the world.
MANAGEMENT

MANAGER
Image Silian Parker, 54 WC Record: 50-6-8 Overall Record: 58-9-11
A season after leading the Pùr Riders to the then-League Chromatiks title - led by the enigmatic Carrie Mason - Parker stepped into the role vacated by Lisa Amos, who was just done with politics but couldn't stay away from it due to the role that the Chromatik National Team had played in the Rainbow Revolution. Since then, Parker has continued the team's reputation as a world powerhouse, and now, he is entering his third cycle - which will make him the longest tenured Manager in Chromatik history, as both Cortes and Amos had two cycles apiece. Ever the tactical genius who is not shy from doing anything that could easily be considered controversial from a tactical standpoint, his latest was to convert Jazmin Dragana into an occasional left midfielder. The Chromatik public has grown to trust him wily schemes - as so few have backfired - and with a Quarterfinal run the last time around, fans are excited about the potential for more.

In WC 79 Qualifying, Chromatika handled business against Eastfield Lodge and Eshan, their main competition, without a problem; it wasn't for the hiccups versus Banija and that last matchday gaffe, the team would have been more confident. They saw themselves brought down to earth in a loss against Eura; back-to-back wins versus Qasden and Super-Llamaland saw them to the Round of Sixteen where... Farfadillis simply handed it to them.

There is now minor discontent among the Chromatik populace that Parker may not be the one that is able to lead the Chromatiks past the Quarterfinals. Sure, the team has only fallen to seventh in the world, and really, to qualify yet again is an accomplishment, but with so many of this core getting to be in their thirties, Chromatika's best chance of winning the World Cup, and Parker's managing of them, might disappear in the next two or three cycles.

Nothing short of the Quarterfinals will be a disappointment in this regional tournament.

ASSISTANT MANAGER
Image Jane Williamson, 45
After Didier Jacques was whisked away to try to stop the hemorrhaging in the Chromatik U-21 team, the CFF went abroad to nab his replacement. Enter one Jane Williamson, whose job will be to be the liaison between the players and Parker. One of the drawbacks of Silian is that he is very eccentric and can be considered cold, shy and aloof; Willimson will try to be the messenger between the players and the Manager. Although at first, the players were a bit put off by the fact that a foreigner had been tasked for this job, and that Williamsen had been an Eastfielder international, they've grown to appreciate her direct, confrontational style and no-nonsense attitude in wanting to know the truth and none of the fluffy flakes around it. She has earned the players' trust, and with that, the team seems to be more coordinated than ever before - a huge step forward if they are to dream of lifting hardware for the first time.

TEAM PHYSICIAN
Image Zoe "Z" Benne, 29
In an attempt to start providing the athletes that represent their country with more of the amenities that should be available, the CFF has assigned a Team Doctor for the first time. It's hard to fathom that the team had, up to this point, relied on medical personnel that were present at the stadiums that they had been in. After graduating summa cum laude from Chromatik City College University with a degree in Sports Physiology, Zoe, affectionately called "Z" by her peers, worked at the Capitalizt Dome until the CFF came calling. Strikingly beautiful and fit, nobody would question her if she put on the uniform herself and went out on the pitch; her physique definitely belong out there. Smart, calculating, and personable, there were actually some concerns about her becoming a visual distraction to the players, which were shot down quickly by her professionalism and integrity. That being said, the Chromatik locker room will be... a bit more spicy than before.

Dr. Benne's inclusion has been necessary and crucial in diagnosing the severity of the players' injuries. Recently, her engagement to a Death Templars Law Firm attorney has put to bed any rumors of salacious activities in the locker room.

GOALKEEPERS
1. Mia RIA, 23 | Image Golden Eagles | 5 ft 10 in | Caps: 26 Goals Allowed: 31
12. Nova WILLIAMS, 23 | Image Eyrods Jungle Cats | 6 ft 7 in | Uncapped
23. Nika JUSTUS, 32 | Image Felswyr Frost | 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 4 Goals Allowed: 4

People are starting to wonder if Mia Ria should be Chromatika's future. Her recent season at Golden Eagles was rough, though the team did finish second. That being said, she still possesses the reflexes and the intelligence to excel, and a goalkeeper's career is long. An AOCAF without Nier in front of her might be exactly what she needs to regain her composure and her potential.

Nova Williams is an up-and-coming keeper who had the best domestic season in the Second Division. Although there are other keepers in the Chromatik League who might be better than her, she has youth on her side. Williams has a reputation of coming through in the clutch and being someone who is easy to work with. It will also be good for Ria to have another young keeper to talk to.

If worst comes to worst, Parker can turn to Nika Justus, who won the Golden Glove this past season in the Chromatik Division. Justus is a length-based keeper and a field general.

RIGHT BACKS
2. Erika MORNINGSTAR, 31 | Image Sabrefell Athletic | 6 ft | Caps: 129 Goals: 2
13. Severin ILYA, 32 | Image Golden Eagles | 5 ft 7 in | Caps: 73

Erika Morningstar just hit thirty a while back, but her play has improved even further. Knowing how to use experience and height, she rarely makes a mistake, and brings a contagious energy to the pitch. She's not very vocal, but that's for Severin Ilya, the fiery, emotional leader who isn't shy about stating his mind. Now having anchored the Eagles to a second-place finish in the Terranean League West, he is rearing to go as ever.

Why not Valence Ilya? The youngster is looking forward to his move in Eastweald, and took the news that he won't be traveling to the Equestrian States rather well, saying that he still has a lot to learn.

CENTER BACKS
3. Luuk AART, 30 | Image Lonngeylin Coast | 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 141 Goals: 4
14. Lucjusz STEF, 33 | Image Mar Sara FC | 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 103 Goals: 3

It's hard to believe how Luuk Aart started off, controversy and all; he's grown to be a capable leader, a capable player, and even stopped himself from being bitter over it all. On the field, his greatest strength remains his dogged nature to chase after every ball. Lucjusz Stef is prospering in Mar Sara, living the dream of a Chromatik playing in Valanora.

Aart and Stef are a decorated, veteran duo that still have a few cups left in them.

LEFT BACKS
4. Zlastica ELLEN, 35 | Image Norrion Rovers | 6 ft 11 in | Caps: 122
15. Aysu DAMJANA, 30 |Image Vermillion Rage | 6 ft 7 in | Caps: 67

Ah, the beanstalks. To play this position for the Chromatiks is to be tall. Ellen is the enforcer, and the aerial defender who boxes out the tallest would-be scorer on the other team; this will be her last tournament with the team as a starter. Damjana has done a good job filling in more and more as of late, and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.

Damjana is ready, but wishes for Ellen to lift that elusive hardware. With Cierra Anderson waiting in the wing, the Chromatik left back situation looks solid.

RIGHT MIDFIELDERS
5. Meagan KELLY, 33 | Image Cedina Beach AFC | 5 ft 4 in | Caps: 131 Goals: 19 CAPTAIN
16. Molly THORBEN, 22 | Image Stein-los Turkish | 5 ft 10 in | Caps: 13 Goals: 1

After childbirth and hitting thirty, Meagan Kelly is not showing any signs of slowing down. Her finesse and fitness have never been in question, and although she may not be the fastest on the team now - Lightning is pretty fast - she still sets the pace for this team, working tirelessly. Backing her up will be Molly Thorben, younger sister of Nikolai, whose game involves more around using her size and physicality, something not present in most Chromatik midfielders.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS
6. Alyss MONTAGUE, 29 | Image Coret Hawks | 5 ft 5 in | Caps: 76 Goals: 13
7. Sandra SYBILL, 32 | Image Real Azuris | 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 95 Goals: 13
17. Rachel HELLION, 30 | Image Handon United | 6 ft 6 in | Caps: 137 Goals: 24
18. Hermaeus MORA, 22 | Image Chromatik Capitalizt | 5 ft 10 in | Caps: 14 Goals: 1

What a story that Alyss Montague has become. Once dubbed unworthy of the spot, people were saying that the only reason she was on the team was because she was Andisori's girlfriend. However, her consistent pace and willingness to learn allowed her to shift from right to central midfielder (though she still plays the right position for Coret) and become a key piece of the team. Sandra Sybill continues to win titles in the Harlighet Ligen with Real Azuris, having won multiple Team of the Year awards. Quality shooting and experience is what she brings. Rachel Hellion is a backup? Crazy, but the Handon United player is making another case to be the starter, and the reason why Parker is so confident when they switch to a 3-5-2. Hellion is also the set piece specialist for the team. Hermaeus Mora is a promising young player who is willing to take risks and play further up the field.

Will Parker actually play the 3-5-2? Can something be won with this amazing core of center midfielders?

LEFT MIDFIELDERS
8. Jazmin DRAGANA, 27 | Image Brinemouth | 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 58 Goals: 14
19. Carrol LIAM, 29 | Image Farrenton Athletic | 6 ft | Caps: 96 Goals: 5

Jazmin Dragana is really a winger, playing midfielder. It was her ability to move up and down the sidelines and both attack and defend that allowed Parker to take liberties with her position. Carrol Liam - the one she replaced - had a decent year at Farrenton Athletic, and seemed to be getting a bit more help when it came down to his mental crutches, but is not up to the standard of play that Dragana brings.

The pair of two twenty-nine year old left midfielders who are rivals and friends. Han and Lamarde remain too much of a work in progress to really challenge them. Liam's almost reaching one hundred caps even after being benched is an interesting thing to keep track of as well.

RIGHT WINGERS
9. Kaytlyn VICTORIANE, 23 | Image Lammerton | 5 ft 8 in | Caps: 62 Goals: 43
20. Trenn RIEN. 29 | Image Avenida Leal | 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 109 Goals: 28

Kaytlyn Victoriane, here? Well.. She is a lot more exciting to watch than Trenn Rien, and has scored a lot more goals than him, with her speed and brilliant playmaking. He is the more stable, experienced set-up artist, and when she is the striker, he will step in instead.

Rien and Victoriane are in too much of their prime to be replaced.

STRIKERS
10. Keira ANDISORI, 26 | Image Starling | 5 ft 3 in | Caps: 95 Goals: 72
21. Miranda "Lightning" GAIL, 23 | Image Southfell United | 5 ft 1 in | Caps: 5 Goals: 3

In the near future, we might run into a Chromatika that runs two strikers instead, with the wealth of strikers in the pool. Keira Andisori has had a couple good seasons in Starling, and with the departure of Hawke, will be asked to do more; the youngster, now twenty-five, is still hungry to achieve even more. Miranda Gail is the speedy, in-your face striker.

Gail gets the nod over Sierra as the backup striker, albeit narrowly. With so many bright strikers in the future, though? Chromatika seems set for the foreseeable future.

LEFT WINGERS
11. Ki NIRO, 30 | Image Cassandra City | 5 ft 10 in | Caps: 65 Goals: 26
22. Xi XE, 25 | Image Alnio Union | Caps: 12 Goals: 8

Ki Niro steps into the starting role with the retirement of Gabriella Antonio. The Cassandra City striker is flexible, having played right wing before as well; she also fits the bill of the team in being speedy and asking questions later. Behind her is one Xi Xe, a promising player who has shown her worth in both Alnio and in the Eagle's Cup.

Though Xe hasn't had as much of a splash as she would've liked, but will still be the backup winger.

STRATEGY
Chromatika now plays in a 3-4-3, but a rather fluid one. On defense, the team tends to buckle down on their final third and make use of the side midfielders as they see fit; the central midfielders link up with the wingers and the lone striker to form the attack force. However, Kelly and Dragana are both fast enough to run down the sideline if needed to help up front. The whole team is as a whole a fast-paced one, pressing up at the front and holding fast at the back.

As needed, Parker can shift more to a 3-5-2, using two strikers and five mids, and having Dragana and Kelly play further up front with the three center mids further back. With Parker being Parker, there is also the possibility of even crazier tactics.

Set Piece Taker: Meagan Kelly, Rachel Hellion.
Most Likely to Commit a Foul: Zlastica Ellen, Sandra Sybill.

Valanora, 95X, Chromatika, Tropicorp, and now, Equestrian States. All five of these tournaments, we have trained rigorously for, and all but one of them we have failed to make any formal breakthrough. Since AOCAF 51, the Qasden Association Football Association (QAFA) has supplied a team of 32 randos to compete for the ultimate regional bragging rights. While we have made some headway in some of them, none were ever really a great success. Local doubters began calling for a boycott due to travel costs, they were immediately suppressed by the announcement of the show's host, Equestrian States. The kingdom of hooves and horseshoes, like the principality of cats and cat-lovers, have neither gained any resounding AOCAF titles, nor have they ever hosted (until now, that is). However, the nation prides itself on the multiversal stage by having hosted not 1, but 2 World Cups in the last 12 editions. In recent times, the organization behind the States' football association has been fighting to recover in both the AOCAF and WC standings since the team had reportedly taken a staffing hiatus prior to Qasden's arrival on the WC stage.

As another beautiful year arrives, it's time for Qasden to show what they can do again. Can Jon Merritt and the Vans utilize their silver stars to knock down the opposition? Will early competitors such as Vilita and Turori smother the Blue-Reds from the get go? All that and more when you tune in live for the 55th AO Regional Championships in Equestrian States!

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. The latest known members of the National Player Pool are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

HEAD COACH: Nili Ylimaiina
Was regarded as the 'next great thing' in a long line of Vilitan forwards when he made his debut for Kiiarana City, Ylimaiina would ultimately live up to the billing at the International Level more than just at the domestic level. Playing for Arcticala Inlet, Eastal Lunar, Strike and Colonial Sile; Ylimaiina won 2 Stellar Division titles and scored just over 100 goals. Ylimaiina was born in Vilita but also contains Starblaydi blood on his Mother's side. The striker had great success for the National Team, serving as the primary forward during Vilita & Turori's AOCAF 42 Championship Winning side. Ylimaiina would become a regular in the Jungle Cats roster and was in the starting lineup for the World Cup 68 final, won by Vilita. After finishing out his competitive playing career at Colonial Sile but not wanting to hang up the boots completely, Ylimaiina returned to the capital region and became Player/Manager of Tivali City as well as taking the call to lead the Vilita & Turori Eel-Cat Things in AOCAF 54.

With Cednia Beach struggling, Kiwavyn jumped at the opportunity to join one of Vilita's most storied clubs. AOCAF Cup LV Groups decided, consider us disqualified

The group draw for the 55th AOCAF Cup in the Equestrian States was made yesterday and it finds La Squadra di Cavalli in a pretty rough spot. The team was placed in group G, with the teams of Vilita & Turori, Qasden as well as Demot. In our brief review of the teams below, we explain to you how screwed up the Nuovoseronese team is when it is about to square up against some of the world's giants as well as up-and-coming countries.

Vilita & Turori: Even seeing these nations playing seperately from each other is scary. Seeing the 4-time(6-time if you add Vilita's individual title wins) AOCAF winning squad in action will be really tough for our team of villagers to take on. We predict annihilation, 3-0 win to Vilita & Turori.

Qasden: Last edition they managed to finish in the round of 16. This edition they could go further, the Qats are a very strong squad. Hard, but not as hard as Vilita to face, we may score a goal on this one, we still predict a defeat here. 3-1 in favor of Qasden.

Demot: That team had a pretty balanced 1-1-1 group stages result, however it was not enough for them to qualify. We need to keep an eye on them, we may tie, but it's highly unlikely. Demot's getting the win here, 1-0.

Anthoran National Football Team
Anthoran "Warriors"
Statistical Information: 27-7-39
Manager: Adrien Darby
WC79's run was an improvement, but also a bitter pill. It was the second qualifying campaign for the Warriors that began with an extreme amount of promise, but was ended short thanks to inconsistent performances and injuries to notable players, like Jason Rigsby's nagging knee issue and Bryan Kimball's concussion. Despite this, the Warriors did manage to scrounge up a quarter finals appearance in the Cup of Harmony, losing 3-2 there, but continuing to make baby steps towards improvements. Strong showings in prior AOCAFs has Darby hopeful his team can manage to overcome the stiff opposition from the likes of Equestrian States and Starbladyia.

Asst. Manager: Joshua Forest
Asst.Manager: Mary McPhee
Head Physio: Aubin Christinson

Joshua Forest has seen his contract renewed for a further two year, and he's also joined by Mary McPhee who was brought on after serving as a coaching staff member for Leton Town down in 3rd Tier and is looking to broaden her career; it's said she's developed a reputation for being quite the tough trainer so perhaps Darby and Commissioners brought her on board to help sharpen up the squad.

Manager: Alexio del Nieran (Erathore)

Goalkeepers

#1 - GK - Aurélian Gautier - Sabrefell Athletic (NPH)
25 years old - 6’7 - 203

Spectacular since making his debut at the age of 16, wonderkid Aurélian Gautier has confirmed himself to be the real deal. Blessed with a huge frame with a wingspan over 7ft, Aurélian seems like he would be more adept in basketball, however he dominates in goal and has successfully transitioned into a sweeper keeper, further exploiting his natural athletic gifts. He moved abroad to Sabrefell Athletic in Nephara and has kept up his excellent goal keeping over there.
International Appearances: 70
Assists: 2
Awards: National Team: AOCAF LIV Runner up

#13 - GK - Joan Martinez Alpacia - Alexandria United
27 years old - 6’5 - 194
A very springy, agile keeper despite his big frame, Joan Alpacia has been fantastic in goal for Alexandria United four five seasons. Capable of springing away to parry any shot, capable with the ball at his feet, and more than willing to leave the box in both defense and attack, he’s a fantastic sweeper keeper and a good addition to the national team.
International Appearances: 0
Assists: 0
Awards: Club: Sebio City: 2x Seria-A (2019/20-2020/21)

Defenders

#18 - RB - Andreu Caelius -Monmarte
20 years old - 5’10 - 153

A brilliant young talent, Andreu Caelius brings unbounding energy, pace, and a well-rounded if rough overall game. Part of the second best defense in the league, Andreu exploded onto the scene with his never ending coverage of Monmarte’s right flank. Equally capable of whipping in a cross, dribbling past a defender, slide tackling the ball away, or just running up and down the byline for 90 minutes, Andreu Caelius is certainly one to watch. With Steven Tadeo up there in age, Andreu has been handed the starting spot this AOCAF.
International Appearances: 6
Goals Scored: 0
Assists: 0
Awards: National Team: AOCAF LIV Runner up

#3: CB: Darren Tran - Kyoshiku Island (OSR)
30 years old - 6’4 - 198

A hulking strongman defender, Darren Tran is one of the most athletically gifted Echani alive, boasting pace, great positioning, and obscene strength to form a brilliant defensive stalwart. While lacking much of a passing or dribbling ability, the classic hardman Tran is a lockdown defender who earned a move from Alexandria United to Kyoshiku Island in Osarius, and has been a revelation. Is the strong yang to the pacey, more elegant yin of the Luc Villaview-Tran defensive partnership at the heart of the Echani team. Is 30. Is approaching retirement.
International Appearances: 67
Goals Scored: 1
Assists: 0
Awards: National Team: AOCAF LIV Runner up

#12 - CB (CDM) - Eric Bambic - Llara llera (SAN)
27 years old - 6’2 - 167

Eric Bambic cuts an elegant figure on the pitch with a trim 6’2 frame and fantastic technical skills that see him delicately poke the ball away from a defender before neatly rolling the ball out away from a challenge before passing the ball to the midfield. He has plenty of pace, albeit a little slow off the block, and has a very rapidly improving sense of positioning. He loves to carry the ball out of the back, and has the passing and dribbling skills required to have success at it.
International Appearances: 27
Goals Scored: 1
Assists: 0
Awards: National Team: AOCAF LIV Runner up

#16 - LB (CB) - Matthias Prudenzio - Alexandria United
24 years old - 6’1 - 164

A defensively brilliant player, Matthias Prudenzio took advantage of an early season leg break to the starting Alexandria United leftback to dazzle Seria-A with his defensive technical skills. Watching Prudenzio is watching the elegance of the defensive game; his easy, loping running style and long legs allow him to neatly pick the ball from the feet of attacking players while his ability to make the sliding challenge is simply superb. His passing ability and pace allow him to lope up the field and back, while his sense of positioning and defensive abilities let him fill in at centerback more than proficiently. From fringe youth player to irreplaceable starter making his national team debut in less than a season.
International Appearances: 15
Goals Scored: 0
Assists: 2
Awards: National Team: AOCAF LIV Runner up. Club: Alexandria United: 2x Seria-A Champion (2019-20/2020-21)

#2 - RB (RWB/LB/LWB) - Steven Tadeo (Rosaria United)
30 years old - 6'1 - Weight: 164
The finest Echani outside back in the, Steven Tadeo combines fantastic pace, a winger’s dribbling ability, and great defensive abilities. A poor season for Rosaria United saw them finish 4th, but one of the bright spots was Tadeo’s development into an all-around well rounded player. Excellent offensively and passable defensively, Tadeo took his defense to the next level, emerging as a lockdown defender. On the national team, Steven Tadeo really operates as a complete wingback, given the freedom to roam up the touchline or cut in as a traditional, albeit deep-lying, winger, with his exceptional passing allowing him to find his target all over the pitch. Perhaps the greatest benefit Tadeo brings to the national team is his unique connection with Marco van Ciavatinni on the right wing, cutting intricate patterns through the defense with great one-two’s and interlocking play. At 30 years of age, the clock is counting down.

#5 - CB (LB) - Willian Luc Villaview (Rosaria United)
34 years old - 6’1 - 168
A player on his national team farewell tour, Willian Luc Villaview has been with the Echani team since the very beginning, the stalwart in defense as we climbed to a third place finish at the 60th Baptism of Fire and he was in the backline in our runners up campaign in the AOCAF LIV. it's going to be strange seeing him gone. In his youth a superb blend of athleticism and technical ability, Luc Villaview served as another midfielder for the Echani team when in the attack, frequently stepping into the midfield space to grab loose balls and join the possessive attacking movement. Now that he's 34 and his pacey days are long behind him, he makes use of his extraordinary mind and sense of positioning to gracefully sweep across the pitch and snuff out attacking movements. As captain of Rosaria United, Willian Luc Villaview was able to lift the Seria-A title twice, including this most recent season, retiring a club legend, and about to retire and international icon.

#6 - LB (LWB) - Hugo Carstensen - Samaj FC (COS)
30 years old - 6’2 - 183
Hugo Carstensen has crisp passing, good heading, good standing tackles, just an all around good player. At 6’2, he’s tall for an outside back, and with a high level of physical strength, he’s a bit of a bitch to get around. He brings another target for attacking and defending setpieces, and is a threat in his own right with a brilliant crossing ability. He isn’t a great dribbler, nor is he particularly pacey, but he makes use of a good sense of positioning to make himself available as a passing option, while always looking to whip one in with pinpoint accuracy. Had some leg injuries that lost him some time in the World Cup, and Matthias Prudenzio did excellently in his stead.

Midfielders

#4 - RCM (CDM/CB) - Samper M.arkovic - Sebio City
31 years old - 6’1 - 169

Legend to both club and country, brilliant midfielder Samper Markovic is the anchor that holds his team’s entire structure together. With good pace and an unmatched sense of defensive positioning, Samper naturally drops from the midfield line into a CDM position during the run of play to snuff out opposing attacks before they get going, before carrying it upfield an offering an unpredictable and dynamic creative outlet from the midfield line. He has a brilliant range of passing, and several go-to dribbling moves to drop any pressure. At 31, the sun is starting to set, but with such a great mental and technical skills not-reliant on physical attributes, he could very well play for several more years.

#14 - CM (CAM/ST) Jean-Pol Roland - Alexandria United
21 - 5'11 - 158
The best Echani passer of the ball full stop. And he has been ever since he started player full stop. Started for FC Rosaria at age 17 before transferring to Alexandria United and winning his first league title at the tender age of 19 and getting involved in the World Cup and AOCAF LIV Runner's up team later that year. And then he won the league again the next season. Wild. In addition to his sensational passing abilities, he’s got a good ability to finishing about him, and his free-kick taking is simply superb. Mentally he is brilliant; his vision, ability to work as a team mate, concentration and decision making are simply superb for his age. He's quick but not a particularly amazing athlete, but his agility on the ball is jaw dropping. Some talk of him putting in a transfer request, and to be honest he's probably within his right to do that, Alexandria United seem a little stuck at the moment. With Jean-Marie Bentacur getting up there in age, Roland has been handed the starting spot for the AOCAF.

#23 CM (CAM/CDM) -Artemis Montanari - Hastmead Diamante (OSR)
25 years old - 6’3 - 168lbs

Very quickly emerging as one of the best Echani midfielders in the game, Artemis Montanari is an incredibly cerebral player with world class vision and a passing ability to match. What makes him such a brilliant young midfielder is how complete he is in all aspects of play. He’s a great dribbler, blending touches, moves, trickery and flair you'd expect from a winger, but he’s also a world class defender who puts in accurate tackles and boasts an extremely athletic 6'3 frame. Montanari’s versatility allows him to play anywhere in the midfield, and with his impressive pace, he could realistically play anywhere on the field with some level of expertise. At his best as a roaming midfielder free to do as he pleases; Artemins Montanari at once controls the game with his passing, opens up avenues of attack with his dribbling, and plays as a lockdown defensive midfielder. He stars for the 13th best club in the world, and has taken over the starting spot on the national team from Xavi Arisilde.

#8 - CAM (CM) - Jean-Marie Bentacur - Baskita FC (PAS) VICE-CAPTAIN
32 years old - 5’10 - 156
An extremely creative, highly technical playmaking midfielder who can also put in a . A quick and electric dribbler, Jean-Marie seeks to drive forward in attack and to make use of his dribbling, silky smooth touch, an eye for the killer pass, and a fantastic long shot. A key component for both club and national team, Jean-Marie Bentacur keeps the offensive game clicking, while also dropping back next to next to the holding midfielder in defense to help regain possession. Bentacur has really evolved into a complete midfielder, capable of defending, supporting possession, and leading the charge himself, without a doubt one of the best Echani midfielders in history. He has continued his magnificent form abroad for Baskita FC, putting in a player of the season performance as he drove them to a league title. At 32……wow…the day is coming for Jean-Marie Bentacur, who's doing pretty good as far as geniuses go.

#15 - CDM (CM) - Varsaly Marenzo (Rush FC)
28 years old - 6’1 - 163
An excellent defensive midfielder, Varsaly Marenzo was the lynchpin that held together Skoljard FC’s league best defense two seasons ago before moving to Rush FC, where he was an absolute legend and lead them to a 5th placed finish and conceding a joint-least. From his position in defensive midfielder, Varsaly uses his excellent positioning and anticipation to shut off most attacks before they begin, and uses his good athleticism and superb tackling abilities to break down anything that manages to escape his initial efforts. A fantastic defender, he’s also got a decent long pass on him, but prefers to quickly dump the ball to one of the more creative midfielders and let them run the show.

#19 - CM (CDM) - Brutus Aurelianus - Alexandria United
26 - 6'5 - 188
Former U-21 National Team captain, the hulking and quite aptly named Brutus Aurelianus will always be a legend for powering Alexandria United to their first and second Seria-A championships. He's the most perfect box-to-box midfielder, useing his freakish athleticism as his foundation, with defensive and then his technical skills coming after that. He has a smooth touch and a good passing and a cracker of a long-distance shot, but he lacks flair and has the tendency to pick up c a r d s .

Hinji Ento brings technical skill and close control of the ball, accurate finishing from inside the box and a powerful long-range shot, speed, and strong mental attributes together to form one of the deadliest shadow strikers in the league. An extremely exciting talent, it will be fun to watch this young one grow.

Attackers

#10 - RW (ST/LW/CAM) - Marco van Ciavatinni - Myrmidon (Ceni) THIRD-CAPTAIN
28 years old - 5’9 - 147lbs

Far and away the best player in Eshan’s history, Marco van Ciavatinni was always tipped as a once in a generation player from a young age and he’s certainly fulfilled that billing. Turning out for the national team since he was 17, Marco van Ciavatinni helped lead Eshan to a 3rd place finish in the Baptism of Fire and has done a 3peat for Sebio City in the Echani Seria-A. MvC is simply sublime with the ball at his feet, and might actually move faster when he’s dribbling. A beautifully simple player, Marco is a master of feints, stop and starts, simple moves to send his opponent one way while he goes the other. A brilliant attacking threat, van Ciavatinni is at once his team’s first goal scoring threat, chief playmaker, and conductor of attacking movements. After several ultimately fruitless years with Myrmidon, Marco van Ciavatinni has handed in a transfer request and is up for sale.

#17: ST (LW) - Camthalio RINGËRIL (Rosaria United)
4000 - 5’9 - 137lbs

Well this is truly an interesting situation for the national team. Camthalio Ringëril is not only the first ever non-human to play for Eshan, but he also comes to the team having already played for another nation, our old rivals Erathore. However, as they are no longer active in world football, he has been cleared to play for the Echani team, and we are incredibly happy to have him, for he is truly up there with Marco van Ciavatinni as one of the best players on the team. He made 88 appearances for Erathore, scoring an insane 78 times, while in this past season in the Echani Seria-A, he scored a frankly repulsive 48 goals and assisted another eight as Rosaria United stomped to the title. He's fast and possesses an incredible shot and ability to curl the ball in all manner of extra-terrestrial ways, he's dynamite.

#7 - LW (RW/ST) - Magnum Cerelius - Sebio City
22 years old - 6’2 - 173

An exceptional player even at a young age, and one of the keys to the future along with Rafa DiSantos and Artemis Montanari, Magnum Cerelius hails from the island state of Gracemeria, and has been the star of the club since joining at the age of 4. A fantastic physical prospect, blistering pace and acceleration and a developing level of strength, Magnum Cerelius stands at 6’2 and is physically developing at an impressive rate. Absolutely incredible ball control skills and a penchant for flair-filled dribbling, Magnum loves nothing more than embarrassing and nutmegging defenders, and has also displayed a strong finishing ability. A great record for Gracemeria earned him a high profile move to Sebio City where he is expected to be groomed into MvC’s replacement, despite only being 4 years his junior.

#9: ST: Anthony Baudelio - Phalanx FC (Ceni)
26 years old - 6'2 - 172lbs
Coming in at 6’2, 172lbs, Anthony Baudelio is nothing else if an impressive physical specimen with the size and strength to bully defensive lines, but also wielding absolutely blistering pace, and the combination of the two allow him to influence the game based on his physical gifts alone. Add a lethality in front of goal that has never been seen before in Eshan, and you have a true world class talent. 103 goals in 140 appearances for Alexandria United, goals abound for Phalanx FC, and goals and goals for the national team, what an outstanding lad!

#11 - LW/RW - Marshawn Mercury - Cornellians (SCHO)
28 years old - 6’3 - 164
One of the most entertaining Echani players, Marshawn Mercury has finally made the jump to a top level player. Mercury combines world class speed, with a fantastic and flamboyant dribbling ability. Add in natural flair and a tendency for the spectacular, and you have a truly jaw dropping player who constantly amazes and bamboozles with his creative play. He’s improved on his support play and has certainly added goalscoring to his tally. Won a threepeat for his boyhood club Sebio City before Cornellians in Schottia came knocking with a 9m check. A sensation for the 27th best club in the world and he crossed over 100 caps this past World Cup.

#20 - ST - Dinko Spisic - Keenan Athletic (COS)
24 - 5'10 - 152lbs
Dinko Spisic is a goal scoring machine, with 61 in 83 for FC Rosaria before he moved abroad to Cosumar for 8.5 million. Great pace and fantastic shooting is paired with solid dribbling and flair to let him slice his way through defenses to devastating effect. He places his shots nicely, and has a lot of aggression which makes for some very amusing viewing when he explodes at the other team.

Playstyle: The Echani team plays a high-energy attacking game, moving the ball around quickly with primarily short passes, searching for a weakness in the opposition's defensive play. When a weakness is identified, the team surges forward in attack, with quick interlocking play to bring to ball to the goal. Creative freedom is given to the strikers, wingers, and the advanced playmaking midfielder, as well as the directive to roam from their position in an attempt to find pockets of space where they may be more effective. The team closes down quickly, aiming to win back possession in five seconds or less. Failing that, the team drops deep into defensive positioning to shore up any vulnerabilities. Echani defenders stay on their feet rather than trying desperate slide tackles. They love a good physical jostle with an opponent, and all Echani players are expected to contribute to both attack and defense. When in attack, the defensive line pushes higher up to pitch to condense play.
