Character Name: Samuel River

Age: 41

Appearance:
Image

Karma: Lawful Good

Equipment:
Horse/saddle, supplies for 4 days, 50 caps, 2 Stimpaks, 1 Radaway, Bounty Hunter Duster, Reinforced leathers, Cowboy hat, Machete, Knuckle duster, Assault Carbine - 60 5mm rounds, Laser Pistol - 27 Energy Cells, frag grenade

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

S: 7
P: 7
E: 7
C: 6
I: 2
A: 4
L: 7

Personality: "I may not be the smartest of folks, but God gave me the strength and courage to challenge evil and deliver justice. God himself guides me and gives my life purpose. I enjoy delivering his justice, and many a raider has seen my smile before I send them to hell. In a past life I was a terrible person, and what I do today I do to redeem myself. Because though God has forgiven my sins, I have not forgiven myself. This is my chance at a second life. I will not waste it."

Motives: "The glory of God has born me anew. I have found purpose in the will of God. I must save Louisiana from the evil that grips it, and return the people to God."

Backstory: "There ain't much I haven't seen. Men and monsters committing evils beyond count. A man can lose his mind if he travels the wastes too long. There's more evil out there than anyone could imagine. I've seen some good too. Enough to want to defend it. When the wastes are hell someone's gotta bring the light. I didn't realise that at first.

When I was travelling I did things I'm not proud of. I stole, I killed, I did worse. But that was before I met God. No lie, I met God himself. I don't mean I had a revelation, some sort of dream or vision, I mean I met God in the flesh. I saw him as I see you now, I touched him, and he forgave my sins. He told me what needed to be done, and he gave me the power to do it. We must save Louisiana, God wills it.

When I was a boy in the Hub nobody even knew about God. My parents worshipped chems. It corrupted them. I joined a caravan at nine. I worked hard and got food in return. Mr Jackson was a fair man, and I travelled with him across Louisiana and beyond. You could say I grew up on the Mississippi. It was along that great river I was made aware of Christ, though I didn't much care at the time. Mr Jackson even traded a bible once and used it to teach me to read.

Eventually I left Mr Jacksons employment and tried to become a merchant myself. It wasn't as easy as he made it out. I've never been good with numbers and before long I was in debt. When they came to collect I killed them, and then I had to run. They send men after me but I had God's luck and I've always been good at killing. For fifteen years I travelled. Sometimes a hired gun, sometimes a soldier, sometimes a raider. God forgave me for what I did, but I will never forgive myself.

I was in the Ouachita Mountains when I met God. I was sent by a man from Dallas to find this 'vault'. Where people hid underground when the bombs fell. He must have been an angel. It took me months to find but eventually God guided me. I stood before the vault low on supplies having not seen another soul in days. I had no way of getting in. Then the door just opened for me. The light of heaven illuminated the mountain side and beckoned me in. When I entered God stood before me. It was from him that the light shone. I was blinded, unable to look at him directly. Then the light dimmed and I can hardly describe the sight. He still glowed, and his body was almost translucent but he was clearly in the form of a man. He beckoned me to approach him, and when I touched him my hands passed through his body and I felt pure joy. At that moment I knew I gazed upon God himself. I fell to my knees and begged forgiveness for my sins. I was given it, and God told me to return to my homeland. When I asked my purpose God told me to spread good and justice. He told me to save my homeland from evil and spread the word of God.

That's why I'm back. To bring justice, peace and good to Louisiana. Together we will drive the degeneracy away, and save the souls of our people. God wills it."

I look forward to seeing what Mr. River will do next.

I also have a cultist storyline in mind down the road that you might be interested in.

Ah; sorry about that. Anyway, I presume that even as a slave, Ryan will have the opportunity to do Quests?

Also, for anyone who might be interested I'll open up the leaders of the Legion's presence in Louisiana to be app'd for. So if you have a hankering to be a Centurion or the leader of the Louisiana Frumentarii then send me a TG.

I'm not sure how well you'd be able to participate in them considering many of them require some travelling. First and foremost, freeing Ryan would be the best course of action.

All true, and I'm already trying to ponder a strategy for that.

I have to ask this, though; am I underestimating the difficulty of getting Ryan free from enslavement?

Nah. It may take some doing, but I'm sure with the chaotic state that Vendetta is in it should be easy enough.

Though, it would certainly help if you had an idea in mind already.

Character Name: (Decanus) Locke

Age: 28

Appearance: Here (revised)
Karma: Evil

Equipment: A reforged machete gladius, one switchblade concealed within his boot, a silenced 10mm SMG with six magazines, three day's worth of field rations, a large pouch of healing powder, two doses of Hydra, a small pair of binoculars and a few dozen Legion coins and caps. As for clothing, a set of Veteran Decanus armor with two sturdy boots and a pair of pre-war tinted athletic glasses.

However, he keeps several disguises in his pack.*

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

S: 5
P: 5
E: 6
C: 4
I: 10
A: 8
L: 2

Personality: Despite his rank, Locke is not a natural leader. In fact, he is quite introverted. This may stem from his relatively small and wiry build, making him significantly less physically impressive than many of his fellow officers. However, that does not mean he is not a capable fighter or poor at his job.

Locke is also very close with his men, a side affect of long expeditions and an uncommonly low casualty rate. Additionally, he vehemently supports The Legion and all it stands for. In his mind, all remnants of the old world need to bend the knee to the new world, or be wiped off the map.

Motives: Advancing the Legion in any way possible.

Backstory: Locke was born to a roving merchant and a whore, in a small settlement located within the city limits of Flagstaff. Soon after his birth, the surrounding area was occupied by the fledgling Caesar's Legion. As the Legion declared its capitol to be the nearby city, a mass influx of troops streamed in from newly conquered tribes. The small town managed to stay under the Legion's radar for several weeks, before being annexed as well. His father, too sympathetic to leave his future child, was among the first to die in the immediate fighting. His mother, along with the rest of the surviving townsfolk, were enslaved. Until he turned of age, he aided his mother with basic tasks around the tent city. Due to the hostile environment of the camp, Locke suffered through bullying through much of his early and teen-aged life.

Upon his coming of age, and subsequent placement in the Legion's military, Locke had an uncharacteristic spout of violence which resulted in the death of one of his peers. That person happened to be one of his childhood tormentors. The murder was quite obviously committed by his hand and most assumed he would soon be placed on a cross, with the rest of the deserters and criminals. However, a sizable stash of Jet was found to be owned by the man he had slain, resulting in Locke's pardoning by his trainer.

Locke proved to be an effective soldier, showing the most potential out of his fellow trainees. He participated in the skirmishes following up the to the Battle of Hoover Dam, raiding caravans and small settlements. Within his first few weeks of combat, his tent's Decanus was slain. With little time for a replacement and on the eve of a raid, his squad-mates urged him to take up the Decanus' mantle, once again showing his prowess on the battlefield. It took several days for the higher-ups to even realize that the Decanus was dead.

Following his trial by fire, the Centurion he served under promoted him to the rank of Decanus and ushered him into a ring of Frumentarii. This assignment would take him around the southwest, and eventually to the second-wave of Legion intelligence deployments in Louisiana.

RP examples: unus, duo, tres

Anything else we should know?: He's the leader of a small squad (3) masquerading as muscle for a travelling doctor.*

Something original would be nice.

I'm hesitant to say yes. If you were to be apart of the royal family you wouldn't be in line to inherit, and you'd have to be like a distant cousin or something.

I would be up for that. I had planned on doing a negotiator character similar to that of Karl, trying to get the tribes to join us. I'm curious, as the Frumentarii usually work under disguise what the Legion in Louisiana would mostly be wearing? Just standard legion or disguised as something else?

Also I was wondering if we could use armor from mods. There's a great mod for the Legion called Caesar's New Regime which gives them more Roman looking armor but still fitting the Fallout style. I just wanted to check if it's okay to use armor from that mod.

Sorry, I was mixing in a bit of the historical use of the Exploratores, rather than the canonical use in Fallout.

The unit is simply a reconnaissance arm of the Centuria, with occasional message-running duties. Although, historically (in Rome) they had the potential to be used as covert agents or escorts to VIPs.

Anyways, I edited it and added in the point.

That's sort of what the Frumentarii have been doing since their arrival in Louisiana. As for attire, they would surely be wearing local clothing.

That's kind of funny, I was actually going to suggest that whoever applies as the Legion should use the New Regime armor and such.

I mean, I would imagine that the Frumentarii would fill the role of scouts and infiltrators. Though, I suppose that would be fine since the Frumentarii would be all over the place. In the end I would recommend you and Valyria discuss this, since you will both be apart of the Legion.

I was planning on their family name being d'Orleans considering their place of origin. As for a nephew, I'm still wary of a Royal Family character.
