Returnees and beginners are welcome, though posting at least semi-frequently is a must.

With this in mind, may I get an exemption on the RP sample part of the application? I completely understand if I can't, it's just digging up any of my last reliable roleplay would be an arduous task at best.

Usually what people do if they don't have an RP sample to show is write one up, or if the bio is sublime that can count.

The choice is yours.

Last Fallout RP?

I think he means Fallout: Aurora.

Also, are Anime pictures permitted? And can we discuss things further on Discord?

Also, here:

Character Name: Ryan Reynolds/Slave No. 53

Age: 16

Appearance:

Image

Karma: Good.

Equipment:

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

S: 3
P: 5
E: 4
C: 7
I: 10
A: 5
L: 6

Personality: Ryan is a sad, melancholic young man who nurses dreams of escape even as he obeys his masters and endures their abuse. A born survivor, the boy is a good person at heart who regrets helping Vendetta maintain thier weapons and defenses against Haven, his hometown. Nevertheless, part of his being a born survivor is suppressing moral qualms and grief in order to avoid punishment even as he looks for any sign of weakness. Right now, the sixteen-year old's depression is diluted by a spot of hope; the chaos of the overthrow of Vendetta's former ruler might give him a chance to escape, along with the other people taken from Haven!

Motives: Escape from the clutches of his masters, then take revenge against them at the head of Haven's forces.

Backstory: Ryan was born to a relatively happy life in Haven; his father was a Pathfinder descended from the Monroe Corps of Engineers, while his mother was a farmer. From a young age, Ryan had a way with technology; repairing and maintaining it, that astounded those older than him. However, his mother balanced it out by teaching him how to ride horses and take care of animals, constantly telling him that there are situations that cannot be solved through tinkering alone. Ryan resented this at first, but after his first few rides on horseback, saw the virtue in his mother's words. His father introduced him to the other Pathfinders in his spare time as well, taking him to work whenever it was safe. But as Vendetta city grew more ambitious, those safe times grew fewer and fewer.

One day, as his mother and him were pasturing a small herd of horses, a raiding party of Vendetta gangsters surprised them from the plains, mounted on their own horses. Ryan's mother shouted at Ryan to leave the horses they were pasturing behind and ride for Haven as fast as possible. The boy, who had just reached his twelvth birthday, was too afraid to hear his mother's voice, and was already riding off in a random direction in panic. A few raiders followed, capturing the boy after a merry chase through the countryside, and after cuffing his hands, took him back to their town as a 'spoil of war'. Clamping a slave colar on him, the raiders told the boy to 'make himself useful', imagining that he was skilled only in menial labor. So it was a surprise that Ryan knew how to repair vehicles and radios.

Seeing that they had a metaphorical gold mine in their hands, Ryan was treated better than the other slaves, being spared half the usual beatings, given better food and drink, and allowed some books and some time for himself. Nevertheless, compared to his former life, his lot was unhappy. Dehumanized, deprived of his name and family, and treated like property, Ryan discreetly searched for a way to sabotage his slave collar and escape; that or find a way to sabotage the radio tower that controlled the collars of every slave in Vendetta. He also took the time to learn the ways of his 'masters', finding out who was connected to who, which of them had a sliver of compassion and who had not, and what they felt towards each other. And so between beatings and whippings, between attempts to gain the trust of his masters, four years passed.

Four years in which Ryan's desire to get back home burned deeper and grew stronger, and his resentment towards his 'owners' increased. He conversed with other slaves; both taken from Haven and those not, helped them whenever they could, and endured the consequences of his insubordination. He was also passed from master to master once in a while, and there were rumors that the crime boss of Vendetta was going to buy him before he was overthrown.

And this overthrow was an openng. As the town of slavers and gangsters lost itself in a bloodbath, Ryan saw an opportunity to talk to the other slaves once more, trying to get them interested in destroying the radio towers or towers that controlled their collars. If they could do that - he had access to fertilizers and other explosive substances - they can free themselves and return home...

RP examples: Here, Here,, and Here.

Note: These may not be to everyone's personal taste; but they do not violate the rules and are also not crass.

Anything else we should know?: Ryan keeps a small map of Vendetta written on a scrap of thick leather and hidden under a false bottom in his box of repair tools, a false bottom he had crafted himself.

Nationstates Name: Dalria

"There are no friends in business, simply winners and losers. We are Winners." - Thomas Depaul

Faction name: Nouvelles Routes Trading Company

Faction Leader: Thomas and Rachel DePaul

Population: 185

Military: 42 men; personal mercenaries/caravan guards to the NR Company and DePaul family. Most men are armed with low caliber rifles and pistols with a large range of melee weapons to protect caravans. The DePaul families personal guard usually are equipped with precision rifles, but these are very few and trusted men.

Faction Bio:

In 2098, Duke DePaul was born in a tiny shack along the riverside. He came from nothing but a poor family of subsistence farmers, simply trying to make it by. After a bad harvest, the DePaul's could barely feed any of their eight children. One day, two men approached the tin shack, as Duke was the oldest he was set out to entertain his brothers & sisters while his parents spoke with the strangers. After several minutes, his teary eyed mother picked him up and squeezed him in a gesture of remorse. Duke, being the strongest, oldest, and most well-fed had been sold to slavers by his own family. He understood, his family needed, so he wouldn't argue and go on with the gesture as fortune for his family.

Luckily, Duke didn't end up as a cannibals next meal or perverts toy. Duke was sold to a man in Midway, a merchant looking for a boy to simply run errands. The merchant had bought Duke for 300 caps, immediately putting him to work shoveling brahmin shit from the stable. Duke realized this was a great opportunity, he was living better than he was back in the tin shake. After two years in service of the merchant, he was offered his freedom. Instead of embracing the idea he questioned, "are you in lieu of a steward?". The merchant rejoiced, having already become attached to the young boy. Duke was taught the way of the trade; bartering, mapping, and general business routine. As the merchant grew older, Duke was given the title Carvaneer, steering the sole pack-brahmin the merchant had.

Duke gained a reputation, he was not only thrifty but ambitious as well as a great shot with a rifle. Nothing stood in his way, the small merchant outfit always had its goods on time. Duke knew how to maneuver the swamps and get to where he was going, once he got their he knew exactly what to say to acquire the best deal. After five more years, the merchant passed away. He named Duke was the sole inheritor of his pack-brahmin and small hut/warehouse. Duke did not back down from here, he turned the one brahmin into five and had several caravaneers and mercenaries in his employment. He caught the eye of several large trading companies in Midway, they either wanted to buy him out or kill him. Both options turned out to be unsuccessful and soon Nouvelles Routes Trading Company was formed. Several generations later, Michael DePaul took over the company when his father passed away. He soon began to employ some of the most ruthless efforts the company had ever been involved in such as the employment of raiders to disrupt caravan lines. The company continued to grow, despite the animosity of the larger merchant companies.

When his twin children came of age, he retired. Leaving the company in the hands of DePaul twin's. With their combined traits the two hope to garner wealth using their charisma and ruthlessness. They will do anything to see their company succeed, the merchants who looked down upon humiliated, and the city of Midway under their control.

Territory:
Midway Company Compound; PineVille High School.
Trading Post at Red River Landing
Trading Post at Stonewall
Trading Post at Lockport
Company office in The Hub
Company Office in Providence
Company Office in The Royaume

Goals: Of course the pursuit of caps; beyond that prestige for the DePaul family and company as well as the control of the city of Midway.

Anything else we should know?:

The Company owns two steamboats and fifty-five brahmin. The compound contains a gunsmith, a laboratory, and several greenhouses; allowing the company to produce some of its own goods which includes munitions, pipe-weaponry, and a wide range of chems.

Karma: Chaotic Neutral

Equipment: WIP

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

S: 4
P: 6
E: 4
C: 10
I: 5
A: 4
L: 7

Personality: Thomas is the epitome of a playboy. A silver-tongued, party-loving, ambitious, womanizer who only cares about himself, his sister, and the caps in his pocket. He can lie through his teeth and seem like the most genuine man you've ever met; which he does often. He doesn't care who he has to lie to, rob, or murder to get his way. The spoiled brat will often throw tantrums and sulk if he doesn't get his way. Thomas is also very impulsive and passionate. Addicted to nearly any vice you can name; name a chem, he's tried them all.

Motives: Pure profit.

Backstory: Born into the wealthy DePaul family, he was bred for the higher class. He was a rowdy, spoiled, and undisciplined child; only his twin sister could get him to do any task. He was surely ambitious and a born leader though, often organizing caravan routes with his father at a young age. In his early teens, his father sent him to manage the Hub office and handle all administrative tasks from the city. He gladly accepted the position, knowing he could successfully prove his worth to his father.

Although he did well, he turned to booze and chems. With the generous monthly stipend his father sent him, he spent countless hours and numerous caps on "social" gatherings in the name of company PR. These would usually end with a jet-fueled incapacitation or an orgy with company secretaries and local woman. During this time, Thomas also gained some connections with crime families out of Vendetta through his chem dealings and gambling addiction. He soon worked his own side deals, using his father's caravans to secretly move chems.

When his father took ill, he returned to the Company Compound. He knew his father was not going to pull through the fever so he made arrangements for the company re-management. He announced that he and his sister would now be the new CEO's of the company. They have now been in charge for a year, profits have soared and company enthusiasm is through the roof... Thomas is going to try to lead the company into greatness using his charisma and unlawful contacts. He will, do whatever it takes for the Nouvelles Routes Trading Company to succeed. Although Thomas has taken to the chem business and began brewing and whole-selling jet & psycho as well as weaponry.

Character Name: Rachel DePaul

Image

Karma: Neutral

Equipment: WIP

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

S: 3
P: 9
E: 4
C: 7
I: 9
A: 4
L: 5

Personality: More methodological than her twin brother; she is the brains of the operation while he is the face. She has a brilliant intellect, which makes her a dangerous woman. She is also slightly more caring than her brother, often going out of her way to protect their employees. She spends hours reading, garnering knowledge on anything she can. She can read people very well, often playing on that to figure out their true motives.

Motives: Prestige of the company and the DePaul name, the general welfare of her brother, and profit.

Backstory: The twin sister of Thomas. Once again she grew up in the wealthy merchant family; being spoiled with every amenity the family could afford in the waste. Yet instead of 'spoiled' personality wise, she understood that everything she was given was worked hard for by her ancestors. Her father simply wanted his princess to be raised as the perfect trophy wife, yet she wanted more. While her brother went to work with their father, she stole books from the library and began educating herself. Even as her mother scolded her, she continued to be independent and attempted to win over her father's trust to allow her to accompany him on business. This never happened, she was constantly caged in the sphere of lady-like elegance. Over and over she would fix her brothers mess ups and he would get the credit. As angry as she was with this, she loved her brother. He was the only person she truly cared about, the two became almost inseparable their teenage years.

Thomas was sent away, father decided he should manage the company chapter in the hub. This hurt her heart; one she couldn't live without her brother and two she wanted to be able to run her own chapter as well! Her mother began prepping her for a life of marriage, she constantly refused. Their father wanted her to marry one of the sons of the more powerful merchant families, yet Rachel attempted her best to screw the courtships up. She heard rumors about her brothers mismanagement of funds through father and his associates whispers. She prayed for his return; this soon came but under bad circumstances. Her father became gravely ill and Thomas returned, different this time. She knew he would take control of the company soon enough, she quickly convinced him to name her his partner in running the company. She is known the brains of the operation and keeps Thomas in line... she will do anything to see the company succeed and see control of Midway to the DePaul family. Rachel dislikes Thomas's turn towards Illicit dealings and tries to keep company resources on delivering trade goods; not weapons and chems.

Anything else we should know?:

Yes, Lannisteresque taboo affair.

Age: Him - 36

Appearance: (I would appreciate a nice picture)

Karma: Him - Chaotic Neutral

Equipment: Him:
"Lucile" a 23mm (6.27 gauge) Stopping shotgun (Insert reference picture of a KS-23 here)
.45 Auto pistol
"Reason" and "Persuasion" a pair of finely made, engraved Tomahawks.

SPECIAL: (40 Points)

Personality: Joe is a...strange man. An eccentric man. Having traveled all across the ruined united states, he has developed an armored shell not unlike that of many others who need to fight just to survive from day to day. When "on the trail" (his term for hunting, or traveling long distances) he is cold, calculating and hard, often not hesitating to put a 6 gauge slug through what ever passes for a Raider's armor. When off the trail he is more...jovel, more mellow type of person. When around his daughter, he softens noticeably trying to rather...fatherly when he can.

Motives: To find some peace in his life and in his daughter's.

1. Yes, just don't go overboard.

2. No one liners. Period. Otherwise the longer the better basically. I would appreciate several paragraphs, but if you can only do a couple I understand.

300 caps is quite a bit of money for that merchant to release Duke after only two years. That's a fairly minor gripe, but overall it was very good. I'd like to know what the distribution of your employees looks like, if you could. Because Midway only has a few thousand people and if most of your employees were based there then you would employ quite a large portion of the population, which I would prefer you didn't. And lastly, I'm curious what sort of goods are manufactured in your company compound?

The characters on the other hand look just fine, so I'll accept those contingent upon finishing your equipment section. Also, Thomas' choice in friends may very well land him in hot water in the near future.

Their employees are distributed throughout Lousiana. Many are located in the various corporate chapters in the other factions, the trade posts, traveling along the roads in caravans, and or working on the steamboat crew delivering goods. If need be, I can lower their employment! In the compound they produce smalls arms and munitions such as 10mm pistols and their ammo as well as makeshift explosives and a wide variety of chems. They are in no means close to the Gunrunners but can produce cheap weaponry to sell to desperate farmers.

If need be, I can lower their employment! In the compound they produce smalls arms and munitions such as 10mm pistols and their ammo as well as makeshift explosives and a wide variety of chems. They are in no means close to the Gunrunners but can produce cheap weaponry to sell to desperate farmers.

Lowering your number of employees a tad would be nice.

As for the compound, could you live with just producing ammunition? Producing weaponry, unless its like basic pipe weaponry, would probably be too much.

1. Yes, just don't go overboard.

2. No one liners. Period. Otherwise the longer the better basically. I would appreciate several paragraphs, but if you can only do a couple I understand.

Edited my app.
