Electricity supply
The electric power grid operates at a de facto 110 Volts, descending from the first imported General Electric generators.
All grid power is Alternating Current (AC) set at 60 Hertz.

Electric plug socket type
Two parallel flat pins on a horizontal plug, 6.3 mm wide and spaced 12.7 mm apart. This plug is rated at up 15 A,and is also known as a type "A" plug or NEMA 1-15.
Special sockets exist for special purposes. F.ex. is Type "I" encountered for multi-phase 220 volt connection, while "D" and "M" are found in dedicated 220 volt outlets.

Analogue television
Broadcast with a resolution of 525 scanning lines at 29.97 frames per second.
Color is encoded through the NTSC standard.

Digital television
Due to the increasing nmber of imported TV sets with ISDB capability, the TV station in the MI has started to simulcast in ISDB

Document format
While there are no official standards, these are the standard most people exchange their documents in:
Word Binary File Format (.doc)
Portable Document Format aka PDF (.pdf)

In the format war between Opendocument (.odt) and Office Open XML (.docx), the governemnt has expressed support for. ODT

Electricity supply: AC 120 V, 60 Hz*
Plug socket type: Type I (incl. mandatory switches)
Digital television: ISDB **
Document format: .uof

*240 V is delivered, energy-demanding appliances receive 240 V via special safety outlets, the rest receives 120 V for safety reasons.
** In the era of analogue TV, the country used the PAL system between 1971 and 2012 (replacing NTSC, which had been in use since 1956), by 2012, the country had begun changing over to ISDB and by March 2014, the analog shutdown had been completed.
