Second Atkemrian War (IC)

[Aureumterra]

During the conflict in Katsur, a secret Atkemrian military base was found in Aureumterra. The base was obliterated, but Atkemri, taking it as a sign of war, invaded all Aureumterrese African colonies bordering them. The war has begun. You may send support to either side, but not directly be part of conflict unless otherwise specified.

Chad
Aureumterrese soldiers rolled out battle tanks and desert jeeps armed with rapid firing MG’s. A division of men were sent to push Atkemri out of Chad. The soldiers started firing at the Atkemrian troops while the tanks bombed them.

"Greetings, those of Aureumterra. Atkemri has become quite the menace, so we wish to assist you in full in this war. Will you grant us military access within your lands and access through your waters?"

Letheny has began to secretly mobilizing once more. It is beginning to piece together an army of 370,000 men, and a fleet is being readied. The fleet, numbering 8 aircraft carriers (stocked with 70 to 75 fighters), 25 frigates, 36 destroyers, 32 corvettes, 28 nuclear submarines, and 150 patrol ships is meeting up at the Cape of Good Hope.

Luka is continuing his campaign of denouncing Atkemri, and so far has secretly acquired military access through Morocco and Libya, albeit in limited numbers. So far, Letheny has not declared war, at least.

The airforce would bomb the tanks in the back lines as tanks with infantry close behind began attacking the jeeps in front. Two infantry divisions would go around and form a pincer maneuver around the jeeps attacking.

Across Atkemri

Defences were set up across the nation taking particular importance on the coasts. The borders around Atkemri were also fortified. Atkemri had military access though Libya and Morocco and had multiple bases in Libya to ensure peace. The Lethen build-up going to Cape Town and sent this message to see their intentions

With war now raging on the doorsteps of the colonies, Aureumterrese people are extremely determined to finally get rid of those Atkemrian idiots once and for all. The Emperor started a new campaign in which millions of propaganda posters were put up around the entire empire, especially Africa. This got many new enlistments to win the war. Imperial orders were given to the media and all TV channels to air propogandic commercials around the Empire. The Emperor was to make a public appearance soon.

The Lethen response came back as such.

"We have no clue why our ships moving around in our own waters is any reason for alarm. We assure you we are not preparing to attack anyone, for that matter, and are merely dividing up the navy's fleets. The only reason you would now that our armies were moving around as such would be that you are spying on us, which we demand you cease immediately!"

The Lethen preparations were almost complete, and the incompleted fleet docked. The armies began conducting large military exercises in the desert areas of South Africa. Letheny has sent their best Köningsgroeppe agents to go spy on Atkemri under the guise of being German immigrants, who would slowly work their way into snatching Atkemrian secrets. Lethen spy satellites got a nice, close look at them as well.

With Lethen military access into Aureumterra, the plan was very close the being set up.

Lord Inquisitor Quilljoy took a look at the map. "Looks like Atkemri needs another spanking. Drusus, get the Baltic fleet up and ready. Anne, tell your troops that we're going back down there to paddle them again."

Drusus chuckled, while Quilljoy grinned. "Bring me back something to hang on the wall, Anne."

The men flanking would get low and begin firing at the jeep with the weapons they had as well as throwing grenades. A massive propaganda campaign is launched throughout Aurrenmenta's African colonies encouraging them to free themselves from European rule and lead their own countries. The idea of African brotherhood is also highly pressed. Pamphlets with these messages are dropped all throughout the colonies in Africa.

Across Atkemri

Sea mines are set up all along the nations naval space as what was left of the Atkemrian navy was mobilized. The Koningsgroeppe agents would be denied any position in government as after the first Lethen-Atkemrian war anti-German sentiment spread across the nation leading to racism.

It would take hours for a proper line of defence to be established by police,and there was no way the BSP (Black supremacy party) would remain peaceful.

Every single TV channel was required to air this speech, and it would air in all of the thousands of languages spoken in the Empire.

“Atkemri is a compelete idiot to attack us again. Now, they’re spreading false rumors of African brotherhood throughout our colonies. African brotherhood SHOULD exist, but not with Atkemri. If I was African, I would be ashamed that such idiots like Atkemrians are from my continent! I encourage all of you fine people to tell the Atkermian the truth about what’s happening. I strongly suspect that they aren’t telling the full truth in their oppressive “democracy”, the populace should know what nation they live in! That’s why Aureumterra and the Jupiter Pact are fighting this evil menace to world peace.

Lethen forces begin to finish up the training exercises, and start to secretly amass transport crafts. A variety of artillery and combat vehicles were stocked up in the region very subtly and carefully. Lethen generals began to map out their initial attack and a variety of naval invasions.

Atkemri forces would rush into Cameroon with paratroopers being dropped into multiple major cities of the colony.

3 Lethen divisions each have been secretly deposited in Libya and Morocco and set up camp, preparing to make their moves. The Lethen fleet in South Africa has entered the Atlantic and moves northwards, escorting what seems to be some soldiers and vehicles. When asked, they note that they're transferring to Guiana. Paratroopers load up into transport planes and scream off of runways, and fighter jets move in to escort them as well. The remaining 290,000-300,000 Lethen forces have begun to move through Aureumterran Africa

Letheny has made sure to keep all of this quiet and subtle, and will also wait to declare war after they attack.

Atkemrian informants in the Libyan and Moroccan governments have discovered Lethen forces in the country. Though their purpose is not known yet defences to stop mechanized assaults and infantry are put on the border and 10% more men.

Fighter jets, and CAS planes with huge miniguns, rush in with hit-and-runs, and the Lethen forces charged with their tanks and attack vehicles. The Lethen armies in Libya and Morocco have began to attack fiercely. Infantry wait for artillery strikes on Atkemrian bases and then rush in and attempt to clear the bases out, employing their bayonets when necessary.

The Lethen Navy has sent in minesweeper ships and mine-sweeping drones to slowly push towards the Atkemrian coastline. The submarines of the fleet have submerged deeply and have begun to attack Atkemrian ships in their ports.

The element of surprise is in Letheny's favor.

The Aureumterrese took advantage of the Lethen strike and kept shooting barrages of artillery and bombs at the Atkemrians. They brought in planes that bombed the Atkemrians with powerful explosions, and the infantry attempted to single out Atkemrian vehicles and bomb them with grenades.

In the baltic sea Northern Poland was listening to the Aureumterra military radio broadcasts. The Polish wanted to know what was going on because it might effect their protectorate Sparagus. They Ordered the Sparagan Government to intercept all the ships that Aureumterra was sending on "The security of Sparagus." They were also ordered to have the right to search ships that entered their waters. on the island of Wolin they built powerful Satellites and Signal interseptors and tried to decode the messages. They where having little to no success in cracking the code. They Also Started using the Sparagan Islands as FOBs. They started to try to sell info to the other side for a high price when they found something.

Moroccan and Libyan front

The Western Sahara is seized by Atkemri and would try to keep the Lethens in Morroco. In Libya airstrikes would target Lethen artillery positions as the men inside the bases would go out and face the Lethen lines. Any attempt at bayonet charges would be returned with gunfire and the eventual melee,in which Atkemrian soldiers are trained extensively. On both fronts they would fight fanatically against the nation they see as their sworn enemy.

Chad

More men would be contributed as the airforce fought the Lethen and Aurrementese planes. MLR'S would continue to pound the area though Atkemrian infantry losses were growing.

Cameroon

The AAF (Atkemrian air force) would fight the Lethen invasion the best they could as Anti-air support was called in. Cameroon's jungle or what was left of it may pose some trouble to Lethen attack vehicles and tanks,while Atkemrian vehicles while still may be delayed were made more for the African environments and desert and should have less trouble.

At sea

Naval bombers and submarines would harass Lethen mine sweepers. They would also attack the Lethen submarines with depth charges and torpedoes as the drones crashed into the Lethen drones to crash them.

In Morocco and Libya, Lethen forces remained strong and dangerously aggressive. Lethen soldiers and their tacticians were great at figuring out how and when to close in at the right time for melee and avoided melee when it was unapplicable or impossible, minimizing casualties.

The Lethen land invasion remained unfaltering and fierce, like waves. Artillery and MLRS would pound the Atkemrian positions, and then the Lethens would arrive and open fire fiercely like a gale force wind with tanks, combat vehicles, and infantry in a right proper combined arms assault. Lethen forces continued to push, seeming to not mind casualties.

The Atkemrian submarines were rabidly swarmed by Lethen destroyers, and the bombers and drones would be pelted by missiles, ship guns, and Lethen fighters. The depth charges and torpedoes seemed ineffective against the Lethen submarines. The mines began to dwindle and Lethen ships moved close and closer to the coast.

Lethen fighter jets began swarming in from the 8 carriers in the hundreds, and a few hundred more together came from mainland Letheny and Lethen South Africa. They fought fiercely for aerial superiority over the Atkemrian seas and harassed the few Atkemrian ships they could find with super long-distance missile attacks.

Off the coast of Algeria, 2359 hours

The RoC fleet lay there, silently.
Admiral Spire checked his clock, and then his orders.
The clock chimed midnight.
It was time.
At that moment, all elements of the fleet opened fire, while aircraft took off and made strafing/bombing runs against Atkemrian shore defenses. This continued on until 0230 hours, when he gave the order to cease.
At 0235 hours the first wave of troops began landing, supported by more targeted naval barrages and the occasional F-4 strafing run.

Background

Months ago in Hinomoto, in Shinra, in Takasago, there had been joy, jubilation, and song when the good news was finally set free unto the world. The Federation of Atkemri, the worst band of liars and moralizing bastards that the West had ever known, who had supported terrorism and the outright murder of the peace loving Emperor Han’ei and countless innocents in Taihoku, the breakers of international law who gassed other countries and their own cities in the name of false democracy, the fools who would not accept peace, had finally been broken by the Lethen Empire and put in their rightful place.

Revenge had been rightfully exacted by the Imperial blade, and for the first time in many years citizens of the Empire believed that they had finally been able to achieve peace. Mothers and fathers slept soundly once more, thinking to themselves that it would be a great many years before their sons or daughters would be sent off to war again. Things had looked bright for the Imperials, who thought they would no longer need to fear for the next time they would again need to take up arms.

Yet as fate would have it, Atkemri’s arrogance and blinding hubris got the better of it once more. Boasting to the world of a new nuclear weapon to rival the Czar Bomba, and violating allied territorial sovereignty in Aureumterra, the Imperial Federation had once more been pulled into the raging storm of war. However, against a backdrop of increasing national pride regarding Hinodia’s recent victories and the numerous war crimes committed by Atkemri during the last conflict, public opinion is still greatly supportive of military intervention, with the general sentiment being that this conflict will be the nail in the coffin for Atkemrian ambition.

Imperial Strike Force Sigma

Weeks in advance of the formal declaration of war by the Lethen Empire, Carrier Groups Secunda, Tetra, Decima, and Septima were detached from the Greater Pacific Imperial Fleet and organized into a new independent strike force under the command of Admiral Shisero Ukita, commanding from the flagship IDN Santa Aurea, the same carrier which had served as the flagship of the victorious Septima group in the last war. In total, the new Imperial Strike Force consisted of 4 supercarriers carrying 240 fighter jets and 100 attack helicopters, escorted by 16 guided missile mestroyers, 12 guided missile cruisers, and 4 replenishment ships, manned by a combined 33,000 Imperial airmen and naval personnel.

One week before the war was officially declared and the first shots rang out, the Imperial Strike Force quickly weighed anchor and set out once again, refueling and replenishing vital supplies at Lethen colonial ports as needed during the journey. Thanks to Lethen military access, the Imperial Navy ships were able to both keep supply lines open and take a direct path to the southern Atkemrian coast, a convenience that allowed them to arrive just off the coast of Aureumterrese Congo by the time the Lethen Navy made its first move in the northern reaches.

Their arrival into the war had been a quiet one, thanks in part to the limited stealth capabilities of the fleet and their lack of any compromising actions up to this point in time. However, they currently lacked both proximity to the Atkemrian fleet and the element of surprise that would have been required for them to get an edge against the numerically superior force, thus naval engagement was out of the question for now.

However, with a pitched air battle beginning over Cameroon between Lethen and Atkemrian forces they did still have the opportunity to assist in the beginning of the conflict. From the decks of Strike Force’s aircraft carriers, three full squadrons of FA-44 Hiryū’s were sortied and launched north to the combat zone. Fully armed with AMRAAM and Sidewinder missiles, their debut over the smoke filled skies would prove helpful in deciding the ultimate victor in the furball, and thus the initial stage of the war.
