Synopsis

Orsandia, a peaceful nation mired by a traumatic and war torn past, has seen the stability of its young democracy deteriorate in revelation of attempted election interference and apparent corruption by the past government from classified document leaks. Protests and demonstrations rise across Orsandia, signaling wide disdain towards the very institutions Orsandian blood was spilled for. Polarization and political tensions are heightened as rival factions clash on how to handle this issue. Reginald WIlliamson, a young and outspoken politician, is now Prime Minister, and must work to quell the communist sentiment from growing in Orsandia in reaction to these events. Little does he or others know, that this reincarnation of evil has been growing this whole time, ready once more to throw Orsandia and its neighbors into chaos.


This RP will also provide in-depth glimpses into the perspectives of various belligerents in this conflict, from the Prime Minister, Reginald Williamson, Communist rebel Renzin Lotsa, and a teenage civilian, Samuel Tang. Each will offer differing views of the conflict, highlighting the deep personal and historical prominence of this RP.
OOC Coordination
If the synopsis was confusing, this RP is a civil war/armed conflict between the Orsandian Government and Allies and militant far-left (communist) rebels who attempt to take control of the country, first seizing territory in the scarcely inhabited areas in Western Orsandia. Orsandia and Gael are relatively peaceful and quiet, so such an event would be certain to cause quite the stir. This roleplay will also cover extensive investigation into finding a potential outside nation being directly responsible for aiding the communists in Orsandia. So, where do you fit in ?

1. I need people to do some occasional news posts highlighting the concerns of the deteriorating situation, with frequency increasing as the Orsandian conflict unfolds.
2. I need nations willing or eager to provide intelligence services or military aid as it pertains to this conflicts development.
3. (Optional) I need a nation willing to serve in an antagonistic role, where they would be found to be aiding the rebels in some way for the RPs later storyline.

The Roleplay

A brief, tentative guide of the roleplay events

Part I : Tensions Rising
- Reginald Williamson is formally recognized as Prime Minister of Orsandia. Williamson is quickly hit with how the government intends to address the recent revelations from the Keverai Leaks via the the Guangfeng Times implicating former government members of insider trading in addition to allegations of attempting to entice foreign election interference. Williamson looks outside of his window, slightly perturbed towards the growing protest outside the Prime Minister's building.
- #OccupyOrsandia organizes massive protests across Orsandia, denounce capitalism, and urge for the "permanent impeachment" of the Orsandian Govt.
- News outlets across Gael release articles covering protests, PM Williamson urges calm
- Protests in Yang Kong and Lahpso Taha turn violent, protesters and civilians injured, large arrests, and extensive property damage.

Part II: Become Ungovernable
- PM Williamson condemns violence, vows to return order against "barbaric hooligans". Violent protests become more frequent as protesters clash with security forces.
- Orsandian Intelligence Agency, other nation's intelligence provides an urgent report to PM Williamson of a possible militant group operating in Urching SAR, Western Orsandia. The report is dismissed as a "low priority".
-Protests in other parts of Orsandia stop peacefully. Large demonstration in Lahpso Taha turn deadly, as security forces open fire on demonstrators in panic, several killed.
- News post about militant group becoming possible threat, foreshadows future events.
- Unrest in the Urching SAR boils over, separatist communists who call themselves "The People's Liberation Force" declare that the time for dialogue is "over" and that the only way to achieve their goals is through the collapse of the "Imperialist,Bourgeoisie" false government and re-establishment of a Communist state.

Part III : The Lahpso Offensive
- PLF launches surprise attacks throughout Western Orsandia, overwhelming security forces and unsuspecting Orsandian military with sheer numbers. Lahpso Taha, significant area falls to the PLF within 24 hours, catching Orsandia and others off guard. PLF hits Yang Kong Stock Exchange, the OSA with massive cyber-attacks, damaging crucial infrastructure. Renzin Lotsa describes taking control over the major city.
- PLF Captures Batarq Air Base, issues live broadcast across the TWI of their destruction, proceeds to execute captured Orsandian Soliders on live broadcast.
- News articles cover event, mass shock and outrage from across Isles. Emergency meeting convened in Orsandia between Williamson,Orsandian Joint Chiefs, and intelligence.
- PM Williamson issues the "Decree of Liberty" speech, vows to "sever the head of the communist devil that haunts Orsandia forever." Border with Bravo Rio closed to prevent PLF incursion. Entire Orsandian armed forces mobilize, and other nations follow suit.
- Williamson issues permission to allies to enter Orsandia and cooperate with Armed Forces operations, Dormill is the first to respond ?
- Allied Coalition begins counter attack to halt PLF from moving beyond W.Orsandia, Civilian Tang describes life in Lahpso Taha after the communists captured it.

Part IV: Beat them Back !
- Military Operations are showing success, coalition forces begin to slowly retake and battle for territory in W.Orsandia.
- Tip to Intelligence gives new lead into foreign involvement, work begins to uncover it.
- [Lotsa] Describes conditions on the front, laments on decision to join the PLF.
-PM Williamson meets with allied nation leaders, thanks them for their aid. Cyber-Ops conducted against PLF forces
- Coalition re-captures Batarq Air Base amid fierce fighting. Insurgency pockets in certain areas of Orsandia

Interested in further suggestions, ideas etc. This is not a final product, but rather an outline of how the RP should likely unfold. I am open to direction shifts, and would like to see this RP develop into something flexible and serious.

I can do that - I'm well known in the region for my intelligence capabilities, and since you're a neighbor it makes sense that I would have a lot of information on your nation and stuff in it, and that I'd be able to quickly develop intelligence sources around your nation. Military aid as well - as we already agreed.

Starting from this stage, my government would be all over this issue. I would probably start investigating whether or not these people are supported by any foreign power.

I'd be interested in sending advisors, materiel, intelligence reports, maybbbbbe even some air support to help fight off the PLF, but much of the Corindi military is going to be diverted to Charbtown soon so I can't get too involved without overextending

So my plan regarding being the "big bad" of this RP is this: My nation, which has a long history of doing this kind of thing, will have been working through third party arms dealers. In all, there will be one Spec Ops team there as the "problem solvers" and 4 intelligence guys from my yet-to-be-named intelligence agency (I really don't want them to have a name tbh, just a collective called the "thuzbek intelligence Services" that covers the departments). So, the way I actually get found out is simple: You guys capture some members of my team and are able to extract at least enough info to identify the Nation of Origin, plus maybe some compromising info on our ops on the island before my spec ops team is able to kill him at some point. How does this sound?

The issue will be refugees. Aruia will set a temperorly refugee camp which will involve moving the refugees to another country that take them in, some time after i'd expect a refugee crisis to occur on either side of the border with some violent escelation, where the next step could be Aruias defense unit getting involve closing the border and eiter backing opposing forces or other nations in their efforts in an indirect effort.

I would like to remind you if you have not already known via discord, etc. that my original goal of the antagonist role in being behind this, is that towards the end of this conflict, a potential for a new one arises as tensions will be sky high, many on edge. It was my desire to enter a military conflict/war with this hypothetical "big bad" nation after this in "retaliation" for their aid in Orsandia's attempted destablization. I would be enamored if you are open to this, understand if not.

Borders will be a prominent topic in this RP. It is likely at the offset of armed conflict, the govt will direct all borders to be shut down/secured, and willing to cooperate with neighbors to ensure the conflict, and humanitarian crisis that may occur, doesn't spill over into any other Gaelian nations.

I'm open to it. It would be a naval confrontation mostly. But it might take us a bit after your civil war to do any fighting. Lots of diplomatic fighting we could have between point a and b totally open to fighting and even losing the war tho. However it mostly comes down to what position your government is in, what the goals the war would be, and how you go about it. This rp will take a bit, so I've got time to make my military factbooks. However, while we will have a nice navy, we aren't going to have much else. So we woul dnt try to invade.

Alright, let me establish my plans for this RP.

1. As the protests begin to mount and tensions reach their limits, the BRS/SI will begin to send agents to investigate the situation and make a plan for a possible Dormill-Stiuraian Intervention
2. The moment the rebellion begins, the Dormill-Stiuraian Federal Armed Forces begins to build up along our border, waiting for the moment to step in and intervene when the call to arms is made. If you would allow it, it would even begin airstrikes on rebel positions.
3. If Oste is for it, the BRS/SI and OVAST will work together on an even greater scale than currently in an attempt to shut down the rebellion. Cutting off their aid would be a priority to reduce potential casualties and the cost of the conflict.
4. As the conflict winds down, President Dyson will approach PM Williamson with an offer where Dormill and Stiura leads reconstruction efforts in Orsandia in exchange for his support to work on building a new international organization aimed at opening up trade in the Southern Sea, and enhancing cooperation between the nations that rely on the Southern Sea for trade, defense, and so on.

If there is anything else I could be doing or anything I should avoid, I would like to know.
