Rank: Jedi Apprentice
Background: Jeweuhl was born right in the middle of Imperial Rule, in 7 ABY. His parents seemingly disappeared, however, soon after he was born. As an infant, he was found by a Jedi Knight, who secretly kept him in his home. Yet when Jeweuhl was discovered, his adoptive father was forced to retire, as he could not keep a child and be a Knight. Nevertheless, he raised him, teaching him the ways of the Force, the arts, how to wield a saber, and how to defend himself without a Saber.
His father also disappeared, however, when Jeweuhl was 17. The young Miraluka awakened one day, and was told of the disappearance by a group of Jedi Knights. He was then placed in the Academy for his safety, as they feared that some hostile forces might be trying to attack him. Thus, he became a student, desiring to live his life mostly quietly and peacefully. In the meantime, his father's colleagues continue to search for him.
Jeweuhl is mostly a very studious, quiet student. He is very intelligent, and prefers to be studying instead of fighting or socializing. He has a tendency to feel lonely around others whom he does not know. Getting to know him is sometimes a challenge, as he is not very talkative, but he will take interest in anyone who seeks to know him. Jeweuhl can often be found wandering the Academy grounds and making observations as to his surroundings, despite his being blind. Being a Miraluka, he is very sensitive to the Force, and can often read another person simply by watching the Force on their bodies. When he is not in his battle-armor, he can oftentimes be seen wearing either bandages over his eyes, or a veil and cloak on cold days.
Equipment:
A Lightsaber
Skills: Force-Sight, excellent in fights with a Lightsaber, excellent concentration, good hearing, and good stamina.
Weaknesses: Hates the cold, has a phobia of "pure darkness" and "the void", is not incredibly strong, is claustrophobic.
RP Examples: Holy High and Mana Academy

To combat this he wears a loincloth kind of thing. He has a scar across one eye and another on his chest. He's quite tall and appears to be pretty fit. He has orange eyes.
Rank: Apprentice
Background (Two paragraphs):
Xi was born on a particularly cold scavenger planet in the outer rim. The cold would normally make scavenging much difficult, but the family of Shistavanens had been living in the same planet for lifetimes. Generation after generation, they had eventually evolved much thicker fur which made the cold bearable and removed the need of special clothes. Xi's parents would follow the same schedule every day; Get up early, eat a minuscule portion of food, scavenge until every scrap of daylight left the sky, eat, sleep. The only difference would be that once every week, they would sell the products they collected and buy the week's rations and hopefully have something left over. Eventually Xi would help after he turned 5, collecting the easy scraps lying around the outside of the wrecks. Their job was fairly easy, the area around where they lived was very treacherous and ships crashed at least once a fortnight.
Everything was fine, until Xi turned 13. His parents were killed as one of the more unstable wrecks succumbed to the elements and collapsed on them. Xi, who was looking outside, survived.
He managed to get to the nearest settlement and get help, but by the time they got back to the wreck, the whole thing had been swamped in snow. There was no way, even with their thick fur, that Xi's parents could have survived.
He collected everything he could hold from his house and journeyed to the nearest spaceport. Once he arrived, he tried to find a ship that would take him off the planet. He didn't care where, he just wanted to leave. However, even his family's life savings were not enough to board a ship. He waited at the spaceport for a few days, constantly checking for something he could afford.
Eventually, he found a ship that would take him, if he worked for them for a couple of months on the other side. It was the best offer he could find, and Xi unwillingly took it.
Bad Idea.
As soon as the ship took to the air, they gagged and bound him before locking him in one of the ships' rooms. Before they left Xi, they revealed that the ship was heading towards a Hutt-controlled outer rim planet. Or more specifically, a slave auction on the planet. When the ship landed, he was bundled out and delivered to the auction quickly.
The two pilots received a lot of credits for Xi. He spent about 2 months at the area, no one really wanted to purchase him. He had no particular skills, nothing that would help the owner. They would occasionally parade him round, trying to convince people to buy him. No one did.
For two months anyway.
Finally, a human brought him. Now, obviously not the best of situations, Xi felt hopeful, as he was lead away on a chain, that wherever he was going would be slightly better than where he just was. Once again, he was wrong.
On the journey, the human appeared to start up a conversation, making Xi believe that being a slave to this person wouldn't be too bad. But the conversation took a bad turn. As the vehicle stopped outside a building, almost identical to the others in the area, the human stated that 'he preferred slaves that didn't complain'. The human then dragged a horrified Xi inside. When they left, Xi could no longer talk. His tongue had been cut out.
Over the next 3 years, Xi would always be busy doing, often life-threatening, jobs for the human. Who turned out to be one of the more popular choices in the black market. At night things got a little... Intimate to say the least. His owner would sometimes use him for personal pleasure. (I’m not going any further that way. You should probably get the idea.) When he was not doing anything, Xi would be consigned to the human’s gym, where he was allowed to use the equipment. Which he did.
One time when Xi’s master was taking him somewhere, Xi saw his chance. Sticking out of the human’s pocket was the keys for his restraints. To his surprise, the keys started to lift out the pocket and into his hands on their own.
Acting quickly, Xi undid his restraints. Just as we about to jump of the vehicle, his owner noticed. Turning around and stopping it, the human gave chase. Luckily, Xi managed to outrun him. The days in that gym had definitely paid off, it seemed.
He continued, a scared, mute Shistavanen with nothing but his clothes. He eventually sat on a street he considered safer than anywhere else and thought about what he should do. However, his thoughts were soon interrupted. A ship was hovering above him. Inside were a few people who were trying to bring him back to his ex-owner. As they landed the ship in a nearby area, Xi, guessing who they were started running again. However, he ended up turning into an alley with a wall at the end. Two humans ran into the alley, one holding the typical slave restraints. Xi… went a bit mad. He charged at the two, catching them by surprise.
A short(ish) fight later, Xi was standing over two unconscious bodies. He had got lucky. He had pushed them into a structure which collapsed on them. Having an idea, he ran off towards the ship they left and boarded it.
Sitting in the pilots ship, he felt confident that he wouldn’t kill himself. Sure, he hadn’t had any flight training but all you had to do was enter coordinates right? Praying that empty space didn’t have coordinates, Xi entered a completely random number.
3/4 quarters of the journey in, disaster struck. The faulty hyperdrive, which had been obtained through the black market, exploded, crippling the ship. It fell through space, the explosion knocking all the power offline. Xi was unconcious. The blast, although not strong enough to breach the hull, had caused quite a lot of destruction inside the ship.
Soon, a carrier orbiting a nearby planet, picked up an automatic distress signal. It left the orbit, readying itself to retrieve the doomed starship.
After a while, it did so successfully. Crew dragged Xi out the ship, somehow still alive. His unconcious body had somehow rolled into just the right place, protected from most of the damage. Still, he had suffered serious injuries. One arm had a large peice of shrapnel emmbedded in it, one of his legs were broken and there were burns covering patches around his chest. On top of that, he had smaller wounds as well. But Xi was still alive. He was taken back to the planet, which happened to be where the new Jedi academy was being set up and placed in the infirmary, about a month before the RP starts.

Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Appearance: A tall woman at six feet even, Jaina has a naturally thin physique that is difficult to fill out, even with an arduous exercise regime. At a hundred and sixty-five pounds comprised mostly of muscle, she isn't particularly lanky, but cannot be described as anything larger than a stick. With dark, bronze skin and sandy brown, immensely curly hair, she has been mistaken for beautiful before, though usually only from behind: her face is unfortunately scarred as a result of a near-fatal starship crash that also cost her a foot below the shin, now replaced by a cybernetic prosthetic.
Rank: Padawan
Background: Jaina was born to smuggler parents on the Smugglers Moon, and unlike most children from such a union, was not sold into Hutt slavery at earliest convenience: rather, she had the unique pleasure of a childhood few children could possibly imagine. Aboard their dilapidated YT-1250 freighter, endearingly named "the Gets-us-There," she enjoyed all the joys that spacefaring life had to offer, of which there where few. Every so often they would be forced to flee from some planet or station or another when security forces - or the local Hutt - decided they had overstayed their welcome. Still, it was a good life, if not a particularly honest one, and though it afforded them few luxuries, Jaina was loved and cared for in her youth.
Such a life is tumultuous, however, and few survive it for long. Jaina's parents met their end on a small smugglers outpost deep in the Outer Rim which bore no name, much like their gravestones. To the young girl, barely out of diapers and in her most formative years, the events of that day passed like a blur: she remembered fire, running, the screams of her parents as they rushed to close the airlock. She remembered them failing. And lastly, she remembered blackness as they shoved her in to their smallest smuggling compartment.
Days passed before she was rescued, half-starved and desperately afraid. It was not, as she hoped, her parents: rather, it was shining white helmets, bearing blasters. Stormtroopers.
She was taken by them to their commanding officer, an admiral by the name of Caddus Cato. An eccentric personality, he explained to the young girl that he had found her parents ship adrift in space, and that she was the only survivor. Too young to question, Jaina looked to this man for comfort, which he readily gave: an old man, too invested in his work to ever marry, he looked at her as a chance to leave a legacy behind. An heir to mold in his image.
He adopted Jaina, and, as she grew to look at him as a father, he changed her name to Cori Cato, an act to cement her as his, and not the cretin-born orphan she was before. She forgot, after some time, that it had ever not been her name, the old washed away in the rigors of life. Though her adoptive father was intelligent, and in his way compassionate, life in his shadow was in no ways easy for the young girl: he demanded immense respect and deference from her, and failures to meet his expectations resulted in harsh punishments. Though cruel, these were not without their bizarre purpose. He hoped to mold her much in the way he had been molded by experience and pain. In many ways, he was successful: Jaina was, for a time, eliminated as an identity, in place of the obedient and powerful Cori.
Through his tutelage, Cori became a strong woman, though almost entirely subservient to his will, both as her father, and eventually as her commanding officer. She was enlisted with the Empire's Naval Intelligence branch, fast-tracked through its application process as a result of her parentage. She was placed aboard his Star Destroyer as NavInt liaison, effectively acting as his personal bodyguard and, at times, special agent. A peculiar man, Caddus sent the young Cori on all manner of missions across his sector of space, usually on seemingly pointless grab-and-go operations where there was often nothing to grab in the old Republic ruins long since abandoned since the rise of the Empire. Slowly, however, she plotted a line between these various, seemingly unrelated events: Caddus was searching for something, and Cori was to find it for him.
Her activities for him led them to a small, nameless moon near the Core Worlds. She was sent to reconnoiter it for her father, and though it was meant to be a simple task, it proved anything but. Immediately upon breaking atmosphere, her TIE fighter was shot down by surface artillery, and she was forced into an emergency landing. Crashing hard into the side of a mountain, were it not for expert piloting and a noticeable amount of luck, she would have surely died: fortunately for her, she did not, though her injuries were severe after a several hundred foot roll down the side of the mountain in her TIE's cockpit.
When she emerged at the bottom of the mountain, she was shocked to discover that her foot was twisted backwards, nearly hanging off due to a terrible breakage at the shin. Though delirious with pain and bleeding terribly from head wounds she could not see, Cori managed to crawl from the wreckage and ignite her signal beacon, the last thing she could do before collapsing into the dirt. Before sight left her and she slipped into unconsciousness, she thought she saw a robed figure walking towards her, and heard a strange crackle of energy before entering the darkness.
When she awoke, she was in a stone hut, and surrounded by children, who fled from her in the instant they realized she was stirring. Though she attempted to shout and chase after them, she could not, as she had been bound to her bed. Still, she did not panic, despite what her nerves and mind demanded of her: her wounds were bandaged, and the mangled mess that was once her foot cleanly removed. By the time she was calm enough to examine her surroundings, she took stock of a figure that had not fled with the children, one she had not seen at first glance around the room. A hooded man, wearing robes, as she had seen before passing out.
He introduced himself as Zel-Kai Johoro, the guardian of that place. He said he knew of her purpose here, and that he had saved her so that he might convince her to leave them in peace. He claimed to have once been a Jedi, hiding from the Empire, lest they come to take that peace from him. He also claimed to know her name, and that she was being led down a dark path, of which their was no hope of salvation.
They talked at length. Cori resisted him at first, but his knowledge of her life was so clear, that she was compelled to listen. He told her of her adoptive father's lies: he had not, as he claimed, saved her from a ship adrift in space. No, he had saved her from the same station upon which her parents had died. The same station he had attacked and purged of the smugglers who dwelt there. He detailed how he kept her not out of compassion, but greed, pride and cruelty: she was a prize, another conquest to add to his legacy.
Still, despite his knowledge, she did not believe him. She claimed she would still tell her father of this village when she returned to him. That he would prove to her that Johoro was a liar. That she was his daughter after all. She would never get that chance, however.
Locked on to the location of her beacon, Caddus's ship began to fire upon the moon, hoping to achieve his ultimate goal: to claim the title of Jedi killer for himself, a final accolade to finish a successful military career. Compared to this, his heir that he saw in Cori was expendable. The bombardment turned the small settlements to ash. Were it not for Johoro, Cori would have as well: using all his strength, he brought her from the village to his old fighter, long abandoned in a cave and hidden beneath the planet's surface. Safe enough for her to hide until the chaos ended. But Johoro would not stay with her: it was his duty to protect the people he cared for, and he had failed them. It was now his mission to save as many as he could. He left her there to mount a desperate rescue. It was the last time she would see him alive.
After the deafening sound of the orbital bombardment ended, Cori felt brave enough to venture from the cave, only to find that its entrance had collapsed: inside, half-crushed by the boulders he had brought down, was Johoro, along with some dozen Stormtroopers he had taken with him before his end. He had collapsed the tunnel in a last effort to save her, the one who heralded his apocalypse.
Stuck and desperate for an escape, Cori attempted to use the fighter's meager weapons to blast herself free, but found herself wanting. She tried to use Zohoro's twin-bladed lightsaber, whose bottom emitter was damaged in the collapse, but it would not cut deep enough to free her. It was not until her fifth night, after the last of her water had dried up, that she received the aid she most desperately needed. Johoro's voice spoke to her, woke her from her delirious, thirst-driven sleep. Like a wind, it blew her, pushed her back through the cave, and eventually, through a passage that led to the surface, and to her freedom.
The moon was devastated, its ecosystems damaged beyond repair by Caddus's attack. He must have thought her dead, for no further exploration seemed to take place upon the planet's surface. It was some time before she managed to free Johoro's starfighter from the cave, but when she finally did, she left the moon with new purpose, and a burning desire to see the crimes of her father brought to justice.
She would never get the chance to do it herself. Shortly after escaping the confines of that moon, she was picked up by a Rebel cruiser, who identified her by name as the child of Caddus. She was sent to face justice as a war criminal, but the bureaucratic forces moved slowly, and by the time her trial was set, the Emperor had been killed and the Empire forcibly dissolved with the destruction of the Death Star II. For his part, Caddus disappeared into the background, another escaped Imperial figure lost to the currents of the galaxy.
Still, it was only the intervention of Skywalker, and the New Jedi Order, that saved her: recognizing her abilities, they lobbied for her pardon, which was achieved on the condition that she remain in his custody as a student until he deem her ready to leave his side as a free and reformed woman. How long that would take, and in what form she would leave him, was a question that would not soon be answered...
Lightsaber: Johoro's lightsaber; though a twin-bladed saber, one emitter was broken in his final battle, a problem that Cori has yet to rectify due to lack of experience with the weapon. It is green in color.
Equipment: As all she owns was given to her upon her release from a Republic corrections facility, her equipment is limited to a small wardrobe of clothing, Johoro's lightsaber, and a commlink that she has been told is being monitored by Republic intelligence.
Skills: Cori is an expert fighter-pilot and has training related to intelligence gathering and special forces operations, particularly focused on reconnaissance. As a result, she is a polyglot, able to understand many galactic languages, including Huttese. She is an accomplished marksman, though unpracticed.
Weakness: Little skill with a saber, and even less skill with the Force. Cori is haunted by the things she did in service to Caddus, and has had something of a crisis of identity: she no longer feels attached to the name Cori Cato, and yet equally feels nothing resembling an attachment to her old name, Jaina Baize. She has some trouble adapting to life since leaving Imperial service, and though she puts effort into understanding the new order of the galaxy, has some starkly Imperial ways of looking at the world around her. Think less "peaceful lightsaber negotiations" and more "why don't we just bombard them from orbit."
RP sample: I haven't been on NS in a minute. Will my bio suffice? I can always dig something up if not.

Alright, so the only issue that me and Theyra see is that concerning his escape. While it's understandable that the Force would allow one to find his freedom, and maybe keep them from mortal danger, I think it's unrealistic that someone with no previous training would go on a successful rampage killing goons and what I assume would be the usual mercs and bounty hunters that typically hang around the Hutts. A suggestion would be to tie in the Jedi that rescued you. Maybe they were looking to cause some issues at the zoo and the timing was just perfect? Tone it back a small bit if you would just so he doesn't come across as a one man army that can't be stopped. I would also think his aim with a blaster would be a bit shoddy given he'd never held one until his escape. Food for thought.
