We will also need new students.

Can Andrew join? He would be a little sad to see his bosses go, but find himself more welcome among this new band... Or he could become an assistant at the Academy and educational student...
Still like to continue ALAN...

As said, anything works. I am simply planning to give villain players an equal opportunity at having a somewhat organized RP instead of just dropping them into a massive sandbox and then having nobody RPing with them. And of course they would be the counter to whatever band of heroes we will have running around.

Would you be interested in having a separate villains thread and then having them come up against the heroes in 'events'? The reason I am suggesting this is because I think that quite often the villains get side-lined or expected to act as one-off antagonists for the heroes to beat up.
That way your villains can have their own story that focuses on them.
I think it could be successful but it would need someone other than me to OP it.

I'm doing it then if we are to set up separate villain and heroes threads.
But, of course there would need to be some sort of crossover every now and then when the two groups face each other for instance or villains and heroes of the threads clash. How would we go about that? It's not exactly optimal to keep reading both threads and then tell one of the guys from the other IC thread to come over to our IC for plot reasons or the other way around and then they return again to the other thread..
For the one up villains, I have a plethora of dudes that I created for that sole pupose. To appear once or several times for plots, arcs or just for the heroes to beat them up.

Why would you need to read both threads? The whole idea of splitting it out is so that stuff that you only need to read the bits that are relevant to your character. You CAN read both threads if you are interested but you should be able to come into a situation without knowing everything that has happened to the other characters before.
I was in no way implying that you should OP it. I was saying I don't have time to, though I take it from the large number of dots that you aren't keen on the idea.

Yes but as I asked, how will situations/arcs/plots that require characters from both threads be handled?
And the dots are...well I just didn't OP ever before...the couple regional RPs I OPed don't exactly count.

You'd do it as a cross-over event. Realistically, if the villains have hatched some dastardly plot that needs fixing, the heroes won't know everything that went on prior to them getting involved. Yes, they might have an IC reason to have some background on characters but that is what the apps are for.
If you don't want to OP then don't. If you do, it's actually pretty simple. You just have to make sure you move the plot on relatively quickly and make sure that when you post something that it has a 'hook' that gives other people an excuse to interact. A lot of your characters will become 'utility' characters who you use to bring players together and keep them on task with the story you are telling.

Definitely! The idea would be for a loosely aligned group, maybe with a shared hideout and without a leader.

Which was what I was planning post fall of the Knights.
Since the NYMD disbanded, and one year has passed, most of its members have gone off here and there but still know of each other's whereabouts should they need to be helped or to help around.
Plus, with the fact that the old NYMD HQ existed within a pocket dimension, the shared hideout is already fully furnished.
They just have to get some willing heroes again.
