The Alpine Skiing World Tour kicks off this week with two technical races in Melbergia and Azadeshia for both genders! The IC thread is live here. First cutoff will be slightly on the later side to make enough time to RP.

The first results are in! In light of the relatively small fields of the first races, I decided to increase the limit for entrants per nation and race to 5, with 6 entrants for the four best nations on the general standings. Please feel free to sign up more skiers at any time of the Tour, but please use a new post for it to make sure I see it (or shoot me a TG) - there is no limit to how many athletes your team as a whole has, as long as you don't nominate more than 5/6 per individual race. The key to doing well as a team is to increase your standing in the Nation's Cup (which gives you bonus points), which is best achieved with competing with many racers in many races, and consistent RP. If you are confused about races and teams, see below:

A Team is the entirety of your skiers. In the example signup below (my own), the team refers to all the 20-something skiers of Savojarna. There is no limitation about the numbers of athletes on your team!

A Race is every individual scorination. One event (equals a Matchday in other sports) consists of multiple races - for example the just passed Event 1 had four races: the two slaloms in Halsrath and the GS/SL in Azadeshia. For each race, you can submit up to five athletes.

A Start List determines which 5/6 athletes of your team start in a given race. In my example signup below, the start lists are the names under the team (the ones labelled "default starters"). You can change them as often as you like, but have no more than five (or six) starters per race. Shall you have more, the first five/six will be used.

Men
Anders Bergman (9/1)
Victor Leifsson (8/2)
Petteri Urkkanen (7/3)
Marcus Rynneberg (7/3)
Jussi Urvalainen (6/4)
Sergey Ruvakov (5/5)
Michal Zedberg (4/6)
Kjetil Sandström (4/6)
Gudmundur Jonsson (3/7)
Kristjan Maersk (2/8)
Mattias Rudd (2/8)
Ville Uutama (1/9)

Women
Mikaela Rank (9/1)
Frida Sjae (9/1)
Linne Pahlqvist (7/3)
Kristina Ripanen (7/3)
Delia Arselius (7/3)
Vanja Ericsson (6/4)
Alexandra Nemanyuk (5/5)
Helga Birkasdotter (5/5)
Maria Andersson (4/6)
Kirsti Turkarainen (4/6)
Laura Mikaelsson (3/7)
Ragnhild Holman (2/8)
Ekatarina Nemtsova (1/9)

Default Starters:
Men's DH: Bergman, Leifsson, Urkkanen, Rynneberg
Men's SG: Leifsson, Urkkanen, Rynneberg, Urvalainen
Men's GS: Ruvakov, Zedberg, Sandström, Jonsson

New rankings are up! The nations granted six starting spots in the next races are the top 4, namely Dunnes, Savojarna, Melbergia and NW Kalactin. Everyone else is granted their customary five starting spots. The OP of the IC thread was also updated with an overview of the ranking system.

Question.

Does a nation receive medals for 1,2 and 3 for each location event. Or just at the last event finals. Where throughout the events the points continue to be tallied?

The ASWT does not officially give out medals, even though individual races are free to give out trophies as they see fit. The Top 15 of each race (NOT each event) receive points towards the standings of the specific discipline, the overall individual standings and the country standings. Official trophies are given out to the winners of each of those standings at the end of the season.

Looked through new signups, everyone seems to be okay at first glance. Cosumar, you are free to sign up more athletes if you wish as long as you don't have more than five or six athletes per discipline (but the way you did it now is also perfectly fine)

No problem, it was never explicitly requested either! I generally don't publish them mainly because the formatting takes loads of time, but I may do it next week if there is demand. If you just wanna know about your skiers - say, for Olympic selection purposes - you can also TG me.

The next results are up. I intend to post individual standings today or tomorrow, but it's annoying to format so I can't promise you much. If you need to know, send me a TG!

I can't get a good formatting for the Individual Standings that doesn't take ages to work properly, so here's a link to watch the doc I use. If the link permits you to edit it, just in case any of you get tempted, 1) please don't because fairplay and 2) it's useless anyway as this is not my working doc.
