Dialectical and historical materialism are scientific methods with which to analyse and understand the workings of human society.
That is in no way contradictory to the possibility of there being a higher Creator who created the universe in the first place.

Many people also misunderstand Marx's often-quoted reference to religion being the opium (or opiate) of the masses. Marx was making the simple observation of how religion can be used by the bourgeoisie to pacify the masses and and discourage them from developing class consciousness and staging a revolution. Jihad (Arabic, جِهَاد, Ǧihād) is to struggle or strive. My personal ǧihād is always to struggle for self-improvement and to subdue my nafs (lower nature or ego). There is also a lower military ǧihād. However, that is only used as a defensive maneuver.

ironically, the majority of Muslim Scholars don't see the early Muslim Consquests (under the Rashidun, Abbasid, or Umavid Caliphates) as Jihad, and there's no debate on whether the Ottoman Conquests were Jihad or not (seeing as the Emperor wasn't, in any way, a Caliph or leader of Faith).
Like, most Lesser Jihadi Movements aren't even militant. see: Persian Tobacco Protest, a Jihadi Movement in Qajarid Iran that appeared, mostly, as the people refusing to sell or buy tobacco.

You're a Marxist though right? How do you personally reconcile your religion with Marx's Materialism?
I've gotten a few interesting answers from Marxists about that. From claiming God is the Material world in it's totality to claiming there is a God but he rises from nature/the material.
