The term begins in the Fall Equinox (That's for you earthlings!).The ship leaves the transdimensional station at precisely 12:00 pm so come on time unless you plan on arriving by broom or carpet.
Attached to this letter are the university handbook, map, and a medallion so you won't be incinerated by the school dragon (just kidding!) Also attached are your room numbers and a scholarship covering tuition!

Welcome! This is a game about a bunch of apprentices (Freshmen) attending a university of magic.All students will major in a school of magic, both to advance the knowledge of magic and to find a magical career after your session as a student is complete.You'll be involved in a lot of adventuring, dueling, and shenanigans of all sorts, but remember this is a university, rather you skip classes, do projects, etc. or not is entirely on you as this is a sandbox, and anything goes (within reason).
Like I said you can do whatever you want, exploring the forbidden underground, romancing, occultist shiz anything goes. The tools to craft your own story tale are ultimately in your hands.There will be a central story arc going on though rather you join or not is entirely up to you but it will have powerful ramifications for the school.
The Arcane University was founded millennia ago when witches and wizards of all species across the Multiverse converged to find a school to further the cause and advancement of magic. You can see this diversity in all the halls of this ancient school from the run of the mill humans to High Elves, Dark Elves, Drow, the odd Orc and dwarf and even stranger alien species such as beings made of pure energy, and the rock-based Yarnek.
The School is famed for its advanced magical studies and has given way to many famous and powerful wizards and witches throughout its history.Yet it's reputation is a bit stained, over hundred years ago the powerful and evil Lich Lord Moloch a former student of the College of Necromancy once nearly destroyed the University and plunged the Multiverse into chaos.Fortunately, he was defeated but at a great cost, the College of Necromancy was abolished, and after the school recovered it seemed the threat was gone for good.Still, some believe the followers of Moloch are still out there scheming and committing all sorts of evils.
A cute and magical college town,where one can shop,play, and get into all sorts of mischief.Nearby is the Enchanted Forest, and Forgotten Mines, where one can forage for sorts of supplies for their adventuring.Daria was founded eons ago around the time the University was founded.Due to its status of hosting one of the most prestigious institutions of magic in the known cosmos, many empires have tried and failed to conquer the town due to all the mages who call this land home.

Mechanics
While this is a free-form roleplay I'll still have some simple mechanics to keeps things reasonable,there are three skills knowledge,dueling and artifice and you have 30 points to divy up the skills.Your character will also start with 200 coin that he/she can use to shop with.
Health:
You start with 50 points in health.Once your health reaches 0 Death whisks you away and your gone,unless a necromancer is able to revive you.Without your wand you do about 3 points of physical damage .Health can be replenished by eating,sleeping,or drinking a potion.You replenish your health every time you post and you have to post your health at all times.
Magicka
All wizards and witches start with 50 Magicka which is their pool to cast spells from.Replenished by sleeping,and drinking potions.Being near your familar also speeds up the rate of recovery.
Damage:
Damage is proportional to the wand you wield, and your skill in dueling.All students start with a apprentince wand which gives no bonus while teachers start with an adept wand to signify their higher starting level.
1-5: No buff.
5-9: +1 to damage.
10-14: +2 to damage.
15-20: +3 to damage.
Dueling has a sport
Dueling is when two or more mages compete in order to knock the other mage out.The mages start in a dueling circle, with the goal of knocking the opponent out or pushing the opponent outside the circle.Only wands are allowed, no physical weapons.All spells that are not forbidden are allowed in the match, as well as potions and enchantments to enhance the mages' ability.
A dice roll shall determine the success of your spell with buffers for enchantments and potions
You start with a Dueling HP of 30 if it reaches 0 you lose.
Dueling to the Death
Deathmatches where forbidden centuries ago by the Ministry of Magic but that hasn't stopped mages from duking it out to end.Basically works the same way except your fighting to the death.

You start with regular HP of 50 whoever reaches 0 dies.

Your character will start with 2 traits of your choosing to help define him/her.Has the roleplay progresses and you'll be able to gain secret traits through, committing certain actions quests, and exploring.
Necromancy (Secret):The necromantic arts are strictly forbidden, though rumors abound that a dark and evil society operates in the school, that is up to all sorts of nefarious and diabolical schemes.Of course, the school adamntly denies this but that hasn't stop the spread of conspiracy regarding the derelict ruins hidden beneath the school,and of nightmarish things that happen in the dark.
Sneaky: You're good at stealing and hiding especially in the dark.Good with illusion magic and swiftness.You're able to carry more and get away more than the average mage.
Swift: You're agile and quick and can dodge those spells better than most.
Attractive: Whoa mamma your one fine thang. Your good looks make it easier for others to fall for you and to get them to do what you want.You may even get away with things the normies couldn't even dream of.
Strong:Way stronger then your squishier peers who look at you with fear when you walk by.+5 to health and physical damage raised to 10.
Charismatic: Your very likable and always seem to know what to say.You have a higher chance of getting away with things and doing things your way
Expert Broom/Carpet Rider: Start with a free broomstick, or carpet .You're also an exceptional rider and can perform riding stunts for tips, or participate in the Tri-Wizard Races.
Alchemist: You're a natural at potion-making and can concoct all sorts of crazy potions from the start.You're less likely to have your brew explode in your face, or blow up the school.
Arcane Blessed: You have more magic flowing in your veins then the average mage, start with +5 to knowledge and +10 to Magicka
Wealthy: You where born with a silver spoon in your mouth, and had your entire education paid for by mommy and daddy, unlike other mages who either put themselves in debt or worked hard to attend this school.Start with 500 coins instead of 200.
-Has the name implies gives a negative trait that'll impair your character in some way.But it also gives them a bonus! So it sort of evens out.Do be warned that some of these deficiencies will earn the ire of most of the NPCs of this world.
Fugly: Oh god no, you are one ugly looking mage you know that? People look down on you due to your unattractiveness (Incompatible with Attractive)
Weak: You are weak individual even for a witch/wizard, and you can barely pick up your own wand, and you don't have the strongest immune system -5 Health,-5 Physical damage (incompatible with strong)
Awkward: Your not the best conversationist you have a hard time getting people to agree with you, and a hard time making friends (Incompatible with Charismatic)
Sluggish: Your very slow and more likely to be hit by spells.(Incompatible with Swift)
Squib In this world being a squib just means you were born with less Magicka,-10.Still, other witches and wizards look down on squibs and tend to discriminate. (Incompatible with Arcane Blessed)
Poor Felt left out that squibs where the only ones who dealt with prejudice? Will no need to fear!Having jack nothing is here! Yes, you come from a very poor family. Fortunately, the school paid for your education. Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped other mages from looking at you with disdain and extreme prejudice.Start with 0 Coin (Incompatible with Wealthy)

Shopping:Jorthars Magical Shop of Whimsy is a place where witches and wizards can buy and sell. Items that impart some type of advantage or helps make your character stronger can Only be brought in the store at the start of the game. This includes wands, potions, enchanted clothing, crafting materials etc.Deduct the item amount from the starting amount of coin which is 200, or 500 if you're wealthy.
Has the game progresses more items will be added, or you can ask Jorthar himself for a specific product you are seeking.

Butterbeer: Restores 5 health. 18 or older only, this being a university yes you can drink alcohol.Results may vary but usually leads to drunkness -Cost- 10 Coin
