That was something I wanted to talk with you two about anyway.
My idea was, that Re does know about most of the bases (the inland airfields for example are not known to her), but she can point out most supply depots on the map. She has also very intimate knowledge about the Anchorage Water Demon on the Shipwreck Islands, as she helped setting it up (with Armoured Cruiser Hime and the rest of the battlegroup).
She should know the composition of Armoured Cruiser Hime's force, as well as a few patrol routes and other squadrons, but the most important piece would be the Harbour Water Demon in charge of the whole sector on the Abyssal-side - and where she sits.
How much should she be willing to share, though? I mean, if we get all of her information from the start, she has no use to us anymore and we can scrap her, which would be sad, if you ask me.
I would also like to bring this onto the table, as this is a very important change to everything and it kind of went under a bit.

In respect for her for now I won't scrap her, but knowledge about the southern islands will be incredibly useful as they're our first target. I'll go off that for now and further discussion regarding Re can happen later.

Role: Escort ship, sub hunter
Nation of origin: Higher Japan
Year commissioned: 1935
Image or description of the ship girl/boy: Much similar to that of Higashikawa, although just much younger and with a pair of glasses without the piercing.
Gender: Male
Character: Almost an exact copy of Higashikawa, despite his young age Kaifu is still almost on the same level of experience with his brother, and is almost a near exact copy save that he's much purer and more innocent than Higashikawa
Special abilities: His main battle specialty is in anti-sub warfare, but it is believed that he can feel whenever one of his brothers are in danger.
Technical Description of the vessel:
Created 5 years after Higashikawa's launch, Kaifu was the third class in the Kokai class heavy cruisers, or rather a sub variant. Despite official records listing him as part of the class, he is more suited as an indivudal ship, due to him being built as a light cruiser to fit with naval treaties at the time. When he was first laid down, he was designed primarily as an anti-submarine war vessel, armed with heavy ASW oriented equipment, along with receiving newer sonars at the time.
With his status as a light cruiser, he was armed with 3 155 mm triple barrel cannons, and unlike his brothers they would not be switched out. As for Anti-Air, he was weakly armed with only 2 10 cm turrets and 20 x 20 mm anti air cannons, making him one of the weakest cruisers in terms of anti air despite him being part of a line of anti air cruisers. However, in exchange he got a deadly ASW armament with 40 depth charges, along with sonars to scout the enemy out accompanied by a skilled spotting and reloading crew.
During his service, he would patrol the coast and act as escorts for Himito but had once ended up crashing into Tokai, and somehow coming out alive, making him known as the 'Ram of carriers'. He would see the end of his service by being scrapped and stripped down for materials, but under the Cultural Preservation Act a part of his bridge greets visitors as the naval museum.Officially and through all records, he is still the biological brother of HigashikawaTechnical Data

I’ve never heard him complain once about back-to-back shipments or extended long hauls, and even when a mission might be dangerous he just presses on regardless. - Mr. Jeffrey Victors, Dock Director, North Sea Sector.
“He’s a reliable worker and a good friend. If someone is in trouble, Cook will do everything that he can to help – even if he doesn’t necessarily think everything through before he dives straight in. He tends to make up a plan as he goes, and by his own damn good luck they usually wind up working out. I can’t even tell you how many times he’s left on shipments without only the barest of fuel margins but somehow has managed to make do.”
- HMS Florence, Supply Ship, North Sea Sector
“You’ve got to be kidding me? I’ll tell you what I think: it’s a stupid idea. You can’t just throw some fancy tech on a freighter and start calling him a warship. A Merchant Navy vessel has no place in a warzone and will just wind up getting in the way when the brown hits the fan. There’s no chance in hell that I’d want him sailing with me against an Abyssal battlegroup – let alone telling me how to use my own guns.
The poor bastard’s just going to get himself killed. All I can hope for is that he won’t take someone else down with him.”
- HMAS Canberra , Heavy Cruiser, North Sea Sector
Special abilities:
Straight and True – The advanced radar system onboard Cook is accompanied by entire rooms of dedicated computing equipment for outputting firing solutions. This allows for Cook to aggressively and accurately target fast aircraft with his anti-air weaponry, making him an effective screen for any larger ships he may be accompanying. He can also transmit computed firing solutions to the gunnery stations of allied vessels, improving their own accuracy and range.
A Helping Hand –[i] Although [i]Cook has been heavily refitted, a number of his cargo holds (both dry and wet) were maintained from his Merchant Navy days. This allows him to haul a not-insignificant amount of supplies and perform Underway Replenishment for allied vessels. While he can support smaller escort vessels, he is more well equipped to provide for larger capital ships which are better able to take advantage of his firing computers.

Armour: < 10mm added on top of the existing hull during refit
Notes:
Designed and built during the Second World War, the Triumph class was designed to transport men and material to the front line and between Allied powers. Similar to the American Victory ships, the Triumph were built with slightly smaller cargo holds but instead had more powerful engines equipped in order to better keep their escorts and run the occasional blockade. However, their first and foremost design feature was the ease and speed with which they could be built and deployed. Although dozens of the class were sunk in the Battle for the Atlantic, the surface and subsurface fleets of the Axis powers simply could not eliminate them faster than allied shipyards could produce them. This ultimately ensured that supply lines between Europe and America remained open and helped keep the United Kingdom in fighting shape.
Following a distinguished and reliable career, the James Cook was selected to undergo a refit that sought to take advantage of Britain’s expertise in radar and computation technology. Exploiting the large cargo holds built into Cook’s superstructure, he was fitted out with advanced telemetry equipment and even a Turing machine to rapidly produce accurate firing formulas for allied vessels. Operating in the English Channel, the Cook proved highly effective at detecting hostile bomber formations during the Battle for Britain and helped augment the existing radar grid. As the naval war in Europe wound down, he was redeployed to the Pacific where he was able to help guide shells from the Iowa reliably to their maximum range.
Ultimately serving with distinction, Cook would eventually be sunk near the end of the war. While performing an emergency replenishment of a stricken allied vessel, poor weather prevented him from sailing with an aerial escort. After being stumbled upon by a wolf pack of Japanese destroyers, the lightly armed vessel stood little chance of fending them off on its own. A shell eventually struck its cargo hold – filled with fuel and ammunition – and the ship went down with all hands.

And I have brought a light cruiser with me.Personnel file - Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West
Name: HMBS Spartan
Type: Light Cruiser
Class: Spartan-class
Role: Dual-Purpose Cruiser
Nation of origin: Dominion of Bermuda
Year commissioned: 1948
Image or description of the ship girl/boy: It was really hard to find a picture that wasn't way too sexualized, too garish, and/or too srs business.
Gender: Female
Character: Spartan very much lives up to her name. Or, at least, she tries to. She tries to live on the absolute minimum, and devotes herself to the ideal of never surrendering and fighting to the death. Inexperienced, but confident in her abilities, she is practically dying to fight in a real battle. This is partly to compensate for her percieved lack of a true national identity, being the result of the Bermudians modifying a British design with American guns and IJN torpedo tubes.
Special abilities:[/b] While she may lack the sheer volume of fire of certain other light cruisers, she does mount powerful 6-inch dual-purpose guns that can fire up to 12 rounds per minute.
Technical Description of the vessel: The Spartan-class is an oddity in Bermudian naval history, a multinational effort without multinational cooperation. In the wake of the Second World War, Bermuda's navy had been bolstered with all sorts of ships, overwhelmingly cast-offs from the Allied navies or captured Axis ships. This made Bermudian naval logistics something of a nightmare, as ships such as the Portland-class and the Hipper-class did not use remotely the same parts or guns. It did, however, inadvertently give Bermudian naval engineers a large surplus of foreign designs. While the Spartan-class's only direct gain from this was her 24-inch torpedo tubes from ships from the Pacific, indirectly it is the very essence of the Spartan's design. Her class was intended to standardize the mess that was Bermuda's cruisers into a powerful but easy-on-logistics cruiser design. To this end, the British Neptune-class design, canceled at the end of WW2, was taken and modified. She was to be armed with the 6"/47 caliber guns from the latest American light cruisers, as well as the upgraded 5"/54 caliber Mark 16 intended to be used as secondaries on the canceled Montana-class super battleship. She was equipped with the latest fire control systems and RADAR, and even came with sonar despite her lack of ASW weapons. 2 ships of the type were ordered: Spartan and Amazon.
Spartan was commissioned in 1948, Amazon in 1949. Her first battle came when the Bermudian Revolution suddenly broke out. The crews of the light cruisers mutinied and joined the revolutionaries. Spartan served as then-Rear Admiral Lyle Eden's (later promoted to Grand Admiral before becoming Supreme Leader) flagship during the Revolution. The Spartan-classes were instrumental in crippling the British task force sent to reinforce the colonial loyalists on the small island, and thus proved vital in securing the new Republic of Bermuda's independence. She would later serve as Admiral Eden's flagship during the Civil War and later the Invasion of Hispaniola. She was decommissioned in 1979 and became a museum ship in Port Au Prince.Technical Data
