As long as you don't go too OP with it (e.g. - "Look. My character just turned into nuclear waste!"), I'm ok with this.

-Talc

Well, that wouldn't be fun. Unless nuclear waste is intelligent normally.

Hey Sahara. Good to see you back.

That's fine if you don't want to bring Hypoxia back. We would love to have you back if you're still interested.

-Talc

Uh...you know what, I'll still bring in hypoxia. Her ability to hold her breath will help in space.
But I'm making another character too, then.

You know? I have considered in this arc making things happen where only someone with the dumb, lame power of the particular characters in the RP could solve it, step up and use their gift and ability whereas no one else can, and they end up saving the day or continuing the plot or something. Hypoxia's ability to hold her breath would be invaluable if I do that.

So what do you guys say? Should we have some part of this major arc where each has to use their powers that only they can to either save the day or continue the plot? And I'd be open to suggestions as to how to bring this about.

I'm more than down for that. In fact, I think I'd prefer it.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

To be honest, this sounds pretty great, yeah.
I'd enjoy that.
Also, quick question, where could I put Hypoxia in again? Gotta jump back in somehow. Could just have her float on in from the outside of the spaceship, if you wanna be absurd

Ha! Actually, we're planetside now. We can go with the old standby that she was there the whole time of the RP, since post 1...

Hmm. We'll have to put our heads together for her, I think. When in doubt, the randomizer / luck of the draw / short straw falls to her, so she has to without knowing that she is capable of doing it...

Check the 1st page of the OOC. Should be about the 2nd or 3rd post. But there is a cast list, pretty extensive, I might say. You can click on the links and find whoever you want to.

I can think of a few places where we might need a living light. Like, if suddenly it gets dark. Or we might need Nikolay as a present for some mobster's daughter, to gain a favor.

Srsly, there are bunches of tangents we can take with this.

I say this entirely because I think that I personally have too many characters and finding creative ways to get rid of some of them will be useful.

Name: Grunt #231
Codename: ...Grunt
Age: 27
Sex: Male
Appearance: Okay, so, he looks like your normal, everyday grunt. You know, the stereotypical henchman that looks like every other henchman that's ever henched? So, he's got a scraggly beard, a black hat, some black gear that makes it look like he's going to rob a house, and he's also big and buff. He stands at about 5'10 and is fairly muscular.
Bio: Grunt #231 was just your average grunt. He was part of the grunt hivemind; the thing that causes all grunts to think and act the same. To always follow orders and to not have a personality and to also always have the same voice. One day, he was just chilling out with his buds, Grunt #115 and grunt #456. They were just doing some henchman stuff. Probably robbing a bank, when something clicked in his henchman mind. Something strange. A thought independent of the hive mind. His own actual thoughts. He though 'Hey, this is pretty bad. Robbing banks ain't cool.' That's when he beat up the other grunts and decided that he was going to be the best good guy a Grunt could be! ...he's not that good, but he's trying, alright?
Powers: He can take a beating, that's for sure. It takes forever for him to fall down and finally die. Also, he looks exactly like your normal, everyday grunt, so bad guys often just mistake him for working with them. Not...entirely useful when going up against non-humans, but he may still find a use yet.
RP sample: Uh...I roleplayed here once before...do I gotta?

Describe your abilities: "I mean, I'm tough an' all, but I also got the looks that everyone can't resist, y'know? Just look at me!T The bad guys don't even wanna hit me! They think I'm one of them. They'll never see the punch coming.
Why did you become a superhero: "I wanted to prove my worth, that I'm not just some average grunt. I'm a good one!"
What are your goals for the future: "Fight for grunt rights, and inspire grunts and tell them they don't all have to work for the same bad guys. It's truly a painful life we grunts live."
(Why is this character with the Minnesota Infinites. In other words, why do they kind of suck?): He's dressed like the bad guys, looks like the bad guys, and sounds like the bad guys. Odds are he's either going to scare you, or you're going to beat him up.
How would you describe your talents?: "I'm one of the strongest things you'll ever see, man! I come in like Mohammad Ali. Float like a butterfly sting like...uh...a butterfly, you know? Also, I'm pretty smart for a grunt, right? I know how to get past boxes and stuffs."
(What about your character's talents make them a D-lister?) He's not the smartest. Not by far, and he's...actually not that strong, but it's good to make him think it is.
What are your strengths?: "My strength, and my stealthy sneaking-up-behind-enemy-lines-ness"
What are your weaknesses?: "Being confused by my teammates as some lousy evil grunt, and then getting beaten up by my teammates. They're nice guys, though."
(Any other flaws? Maladjusted personality? Social issues? Unmarketable aspects?): He's still technically connected to the grunt hive mind. He may have grunt urges at random.
Why should you if given the opportunity be allowed to advance in the Infinites?: "Well, if we ever get lower guys, some grunts of our own, I'll take care of 'em. I'll show them the ropes. Grunts of a feather grunt together."
(Why does the press hate or ignore you?): He looks like a bad guy, the ones that cause trouble, except he doesn't cause trouble. People just see him as a potential troublemaker. The police often interrogate him on just about everything.

Nice. I like the idea of having a grunt hive mind. I may decide that since he looks like a grunt and is connected to the hivemind, he may be an easier target. You know? Like how Darth Vader can walk down a hallway with lasers blasting and not get hit, while stormtroopers are dying like flies? There's just something about grunts that makes them convenient cannon fodder. That may be an issue that Grunt #231 gets worried about...

As to your question: "RP sample: Uh...I roleplayed here once before...do I gotta? " The answer is "No." ACCEPTED. Welcome, Grunt #231, to the Infinites!

Join him up with everyone else. You know the drill. He's been there the whole time of the arc, since post 1. Even if you the player may not know what all is going on ( - and, do you want me to send a plot summary for you so far?)
The Clockwork Circus - Welcome to a steampunk RP rife with crime, gangs, beggars, and starting off as the lowest of the low, in the lowest socio-economic place there is.

The Assorted Saharan Outposts wrote:Name: Grunt #231

Awesome! Yeah, he's going to get shot a lot.
You don't have to if you don't want to. It'd add to the confusion, which is great.
