The Cassadaigua/Free Republics bid for Cup of Harmony 71
The Matriarchy of Cassadaigua and The Federation of Free Republics submit the following bid for the consideration of the World Cup Committee:
I. Introduction
The nations of Cassadaigua and Free Republics thank the World Cup Committee for their attention and consideration towards this bid. We would be honored if the WCC would select the bid for the distinction of hosting of Cup Of Harmony 71. Both nations have proven themselves to be reliable hosts, and are eager to join forces to make this tournament a success.
Cassadaigua is the only nation in the world that has completed the “five sport sweep” in NS Sports. That is, winning the World Cup, World Bowl (Gridiron), World Cup of Hockey, World Baseball Classic, and International Basketball Championships. This feat, accomplished in 2014 (real time), still holds true today. Therefore, it goes without saying that the nation is sports-crazed.
Cassadaigua’s society is different then what is seen throughout most of the world. In Cassadaigua, the female is the dominant gender and is superior to the male. There are some groups who feel that men are greatly oppressed in our nation, but that is not really the case (they’re only slightly oppressed, but do have the same amount of freedoms). Ruled by Queen Cassie II, it is an economically powerful nation. Cars are very much a way of life, and our taxes aren’t anything out of the ordinary, and if anything are a little lower then average. There are no unusual factors associated with the country, other then the gender differences.
The Free Republics are a vast federation of Republics, spanning 3 continents, that pride themselves on being, from their perspective, the freest nation in the multiverse. In most of the Free Republics, you are free to do almost anything, so long as you have the money to pay your own way. Laws do very greatly between Republics, so be sure to read up on the local laws before entering a Republic. Republics are forbidden from restricting a number of basic freedoms, such as the absolute freedom of speech, the right to carry open or concealed firearms in public and the right to due process. Laws do exist against crimes such as theft and murder and there are laws against non-consensual assault, but one should keep in mind that the Free Republics defines consent in a broad manner. The Free Republics has faced political turmoil in recent years, with two administrations coming to power that ignored the federation's Constitution and violated many fundamental rights but under the leadership of Consul Nicholls and Consul Bolton, most of those laws have been repealed. The Free Republics also faced a recent rebellion by a handful of Republics which was put down by the Republican military. In order to address its chronic political extremism problem, the Free Republics is currently in the process of creating "charter societies" within its territory that are autonomous entities under the Republican banner.
The Free Republics have participated, in some form, in 13 World Cups, including this one, and have appeared in 6 World Cup finals. Their best performances in the World Cup were a 2nd place finish in World Cup 68 and a 3rd place finish in World Cup 71. The Republican National Team, representing the then-independent Republic of Falatulu, also won Cup of Harmony 66. Republican National Team owner/manager Soccer General Rule Theriault has played a major role in the history of the World Cup over the past 15 cycles, managing 4 different teams at various times and Consul Kyle Bolton was a star striker for the Republican National Team during their glory days. The Free Republics have also sponsored international youth assiciation football over the years as the home base of the Sporting World Cup.
II. Format
Our preference will be for 32 teams and eight groups of four. However, we will be very willing to take on 40 nations and eight groups of five, if we feel that number more accurately reflects the amount of nations who have met our standards for inclusion in the tournament. A 48-nation format could be considered as well, but 32 or 40 are the most probable numbers.
The tiebreakers used will be: H2H results, H2H goal differential, goal differential, and goals for (in that order). If still tied, we will utilize a "coin flip" to break the tie which will be either RP bonus or (if RP bonus is equal) the scorination of match(es) until the tie is broken.
The final will be held in Cassadaigua, with the 3rd place game in the Free Republics. Should one, or both, of the co-hosts also participate in the Cup of Harmony, the other co-host will scorinate the games involving that nation. (In other words, at no time, would one of us scorinate our own games). Our own nations will be treated no differently from any other nation for the sake of awarding invites or RP bonus.
III. Scorination & RP Bonus
Xkoranate will be used with the SQIS formula. RP bonus is cumulative throughout the tournament.
When it comes to evaluating RP’s, we respect that everyone has their own unique styles. But whatever style you prefer, we are looking for: originality, creativity and usage of all information in which you have at your disposal. In other words, if you provide a game report with an opponent that has provided a roster, but you use none of their player names, don’t expect a high grade. Quality > Quantity.
IV. Experience
The two nations have accumulated a significant amount of experience. Individual Experiences are:
Cassadaigua: Cassadaigua recently returned from a hiatus and successfully hosted World Baseball Classic 40, to the same efficient level as was seen in other tournaments prior to the hiatus which include: World Cups 54 and 67, Cup Of Harmony 57, Baptism Of Fire 47, World Baseball Classics 18 and 26, World Bowl 16, International Basketball Championships 14, NSCAA 4 and 5 (co-host), and other smaller events.
Free Republics: Hosted or co-hosted World Cup 68, Cup of Harmony 58, Baptism of Fire 59, World Baseball Classics 27, 34 and 37, World Bowls XXII and XXXI, International Basketball Championships 17, World Cup of Hockey 23, Rugby Union World Cup 25, NSCF 10, 11 and 12 (Commissioner) and the X Winter Olympics plus many other events. Most recently hosted World Softball Classic 3 and NS College Baseball, both of which used a new self-written scorinator called Baseinator. Has also written a quidditch scorinator (MALFFR Quiddinator) and a boxing/MMA scorinator (Must10inator).
