Hello and welcome to the Best of P2TM 2017 Awards, a tradition started by Sentinel XV in 2013. It is our great pleasure to continue this tradition. May it inspire you as readers, writers, conworlders and gamers.
It's been several years since the founding of P2TM, when Our Lords and Saviors (a.k.a., Admin and the Mods) took us from the deserts of F7 and brought us here, to the Promised Land. Since that time, around early June of 2012, we have grown into a sizable, thriving RP community. Through hard work, best practices, and general stubborness, we earned the privledge of breaking from "General" to be clustered in our own category (named by Cerillium): The Fifth Dimension. Forum 7 remained part of us, for we will not leave our beloved history behind. Couldn't have done any of this without you! Take a bow!
These accomplishments are more than respectable. They are amazing. They are awesome. And it requires an awards ceremony, something to memorialize the greatest threads and the greatest moments of 2017, and to serve as a reminder as we go on through the years as to how phenomenal our talented roleplayers are.
What this is not is a popularity contest. We've seen them used in this manner. Talent and popularity are not the same thing. You are welcome to run your own popularity contest to feature categories such as "cutest P2TMer" or "favorite roleplayer". The "Best Of P2TM" recognizes talent, dedication, excellence, and creativity in the hope of inspiring the next generation of denizens to strive on in style.
All entries must use the nomination form. You don't have to answer every category however. You may not nominate yourself for individual awards, though you may nominate your roleplay as OP/GM.
Cheating and Puppet Wanking will not be tolerated.
Please do not clutter this thread with off topic, casual conversations. If people want to discuss a nomination's merits or flaws, sure, people can weigh in. That includes the person nominated. Be respectful. "Vote for Me/This Person" promotion doesn't belong here. Take it to your OOC or Group threads.
The NOMINATION DEADLINE is 12 JANUARY, 2018, 1800 UTC (6 PM UTC; convert to your local time here). Any nominations after that deadline will not be accepted.
Nominations must be for things done in P2TM in 2017.
You may not self-nominate nor use puppets to nominate yourself or vote. Puppet wankers will be disqualified (their entire nomination form will be as well).
A note on "NOMINATE ME!" incessant solicitation: This will be taboo again this year. If your stuff is good, peeps will nominate you for it. Don't beg for nominations/votes in the Awards thread or Awards Discussion thread, please.

The Best of P2TM 2017 awards are broken down into two groups.
- Recognition of Excellence
A person or game can only be nominated once until the 12 JANUARY, 2018, 1800 UTC deadline (meaning future nominations from other players won't "add up"). The judges will then be asked to pick the top three based upon the reasons given by the nominator. All nominations receive equal recognition - only one person or game is awarded that category. Of course, self-nominations are still not allowed. Players that publicly pester/beg judges to vote for them, or acts of puppet voting, may disqualify the nomination. Please review the nomination criteria.
Once the judges have chosen the top three, the community will be asked to vote.
Year after year, the same people seem to sweep these awards. What we ask is that those who have won more than once kindly bow out. We know you're awesome already. We'd like to give others a chance to shine.
The Writing Portion
The Writing Portion showcases the writer and their work. Each nomination is judged via a panel. Points are awarded and tallied. Everything is kept transparent. For an example of a judge score sheet, please see http://madhouseproductions.boards.net/thread/126/blank-scoring-form
NOMINATION DEADLINE is 12 JANUARY, 2018, 1800 UTC. Nominations are tracked via Google Excel, and copied to the forum. Only contest organizers know who the writer/s are. This helps prevent judges from making biased decisions.
There are three main categories:
Scene - this is a series of IC posts written by more than one writer or by one writer.
Single Post - this is one IC post written by one writer.
Collaborated Post - this is one post written by two or more writers but published as a single IC post.
Posts must be part of the RP's IC thread.
