Halló and welcome to the Valgoran Embassy Program.

The government of the Derpy Technocratic Democracy of Valgora has decided to create an actual embassy program. This program is open to almost any nation as long as they have a fair amount of personal freedoms and civil rights.

Nations that already have a Valgoran embassy, will be treated as a priority (especially if the Ministry of International Relations is dealing with a large amount of applications).

Apply below if you wish to establish diplomatic ties with Valgora.

Basic Information About Valgora for Those who Want to Know:

The Derpy Technocratic Democracy of Valgora is a syndicalist/socialist/communist technocratic democracy. The capital and largest city is Martröð Tunglið (which translates to "Nightmare Moon"), it is located on the northern coast of Valgora.

Many of people will read the word socialist and have a fit over Valgora "lacking in freedom" or "is oppressive" or any variation over how it's bad that we are a socialist state. However, those assumptions are incorrect. Valgora places a high value on individual freedoms/personal freedoms, civil rights, and democracy. We are not a one-party state; in fact, what many call "political parties" work very differently over here.

The government does not own the means of production (we didn't say we were state socialist or state capitalist). The government only owns vital industries such as water, power, and other essential things. The workers own the means of production through labor unions and industrial democracy. The economy of Valgora revolves around the fishing industry, mining industry, and manufacturing.

Valgora is home to three main species: humans (35%), furries/anthro-beings (33%), and ponies (32% - this includes the Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and the Pegasi).

Martröð Tunglið -

Sendiráðið (Embassy Road)
This area has been set aside and designed for multiple embassies. It is very close to the Althing and other government buildings; it is also situated close to any necessities and places that provide leisure activities.

Kuutamø Katu (Moonlight Avenue)
This is another area that has been set aside and designed for embassies. The area is smaller and it is located further away from the Althing; however, it is much closer to the cultural and entertainment hub of Martröð Tunglið.

Kópavogur -

Located just north of Martröð Tunglið on the actual coast. Mostly an industrial city, the part of the city on the coast is its entertainment hub. The location of the embassy will be on Innsigla Götu (Seal Street). This is the furthest away an embassy will be from the legal district of the capital; however, it is still close enough to fulfill all diplomatic needs.

Rules:
- Personal/civil rights are going to be a deciding factor in your embassies acceptance. Being a socialist doesn't guarantee acceptance and being capitalist doesn't mean your embassy won't be accepted.
- Valgora's rules for embassies regarding weaponry is more strict than the laws that govern firearm ownership. There is no limit to the number of firearms your embassy can have; however, no machine guns or any firearm that is larger than a standard assault rifle is allowed. Of course, any staff you bring can have guns that break that rule if it is for personal use and they follow the "firearms laws".
- There is no limit to the number of vehicles that the embassy can have; however, they can not be armed, but they can be armored. Same rules apply to flying vehicles and boats, those will be stored at the harbor or airport; one helicopter is allowed to be stored at the embassy if you choose to do so.
- Maximum of 25 diplomatic staff, max. of 25 service staff, and max. of 25 security staff (we do recommend arming your diplomatic staff).
- If hiring locally: Please review the Foreign Embassy Labor Laws of Valgora, that will be attached in the acceptance message if your embassy is accepted. We also ask that you allow locally hired staff to be allowed to carry their personal weaponry with them.
- All food, drugs, animals, etc. must be declared.
- Standard procedure for diplomatic immunity will be established for certain staff, except in the event that the crime committed directly harmed a citizen (or non-citizen) without good reason (self-defense would be considered a pretty damn good reason).
- Please familiarize the staff on Valgoran laws and maybe even cultural/social things. Ask in your application if you have any questions.

Both an OOC Rule and an IC Rule:
When applying to establish an embassy in Valgora, please do so in letter format. Create an IC email about applying for an embassy and maybe adding some info if you choose to do so - have the application as an attachment to the email or just have it on the same post as your message. I would like it if y'all include information on your nation such as personal freedoms/civil rights and etc. That way I won't need to spend a large amount of time researching your nation.

When making the message: it should be from either your nation's Minister of Foreign Affairs (or equivalent) or the leader of your nation. The email should be addressed to Pörröinen Eyvindursdottir, who is the Valgoran Minister of International Relations.

Applications without a message/email will be automatically rejected until a message is sent.

However, the location of embassy only says "anywhere that is south facing". Unfortunately, we are not sure what that means; our best guess is that the entrance needs to be facing south. If so, then it can be built that way. However, you have not given which location you want the embassy to be. Is it in Martröð Tunglið on either Sendiráðið (Embassy Road) or Kuutamø Katu (Moonlight Avenue), or is it in Kópavogur on Innsigla Götu (Seal Street)?

As for the choice of site, we have decided that Kópavogur on Innsigla Götu is the most agreeable location.

I would also like to give a warning to ambassador Dennis Crocker. Since the area of California is known for having a fairly warm climate in most parts, I would like to warn Dennis of the extreme cold that he will face in the Winter and that it doesn't get very hot during the Summer. The building is requested to have an Art Deco facade, or elements consisting of Art Nouveau movements. The exterior of the building should have ornaments protruding from the corners similar to gargoyles on Gothic cathedrals. The corners of the interior wall trim should be graced with eagles with replicas of early-20th-century hood ornaments at its corners. Walls should be made of African Red Granite, and floors must be made of Italian travertine. The partitions between rooms should be soundproofed for comfort and privacy.
