I'm working on an anti-villain at the moment who should be finished by tomorrow. I have an interesting plot planned if he joins Young Blood at the beginning.

Why Not? Seems like they actually have pretty similar back stories, no?

Actually it is going to start at the end of the school year, I believe June 21st is the date used in the OP. We went with the end of the year as that will make it more plausible for the team to be able to use the summer to form rather than have to worry about school.

Okay thanks for answering, I guess I must of skimmed that part then in the OP when I was reading the lore. Knowing that, anyone want to create some sort of relationshipnon-romantic one between my character and theirs?

No problem, it's at the bottom of the time line for future reference

Casimir, right? I don't envision Icarus being too friendly with anyone else, but if you want them to get along, I don't mind. Maybe having friends in the YB can cause tension later.

Name: Angelica Simmons
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Race: Super Human
Appearance: Angelica/Frost Bite
Young Blood?:Yes
Bio:
In a poetic sense, Angelica was a girl born with everything and nothing. Being the daughter of the famous Captain Quake, you would think Angelica would live the dream life. Fame, fortune, popularity were all available to her. However Angelica learned fairly quickly that that life was a charade. Dwayne Maxin might have been a famous hero, but he was a second rate father at the best of times. He never even married Angelica's mother Diana, and that was unfortunately not uncommon for Maxin's children and spouses. Maxin was around most of the time when Angelica was very young, but soon after her birth he became absorbed with the party life of fame. Angelica grew up seeing her father vilified in the press, and when he was around he only seemed to focus on her abilities and his desire for her to be a famous hero as well. Captain Quake used his money and influence to give Angelica the greatest tutors, trainers and mentors available. For a few years, Angelica thought this was what love was, and desired to make her father proud. However by age ten or so that illusion started to shatter. By 13 she saw her father for who he really was, not an evil man but a shell of the hero people thought he was. He had all the money, power, and fame a person could want and for what? She saw man with no real family, few friends, and a legacy of corruption and disappointment. She made a promise to herself at that age that she wouldn't grow up to be like him, she would be better and show people what it actually meant to be a hero.

Angelica spent the next two years home schooled, using her father's team of tutors and specialists to her own end and becoming a fierce warrior in her own right. By fifteen Angelica used her father's money and influence to have her own costume and equipment made, and within weeks the vigilante hero known as frostbite was on the streets, Since child heroes are notoriously looked down upon and even hunted by the police at times, Angelica did the best to keep her double life a secret, but her emotional state was not stable. Her hero work became an outlet for her anger and disappointment and that led to some fairly brutal encounters with street thugs and criminals. After nearly a year her mother caught on to what she was doing and threatened to call the police if she didn't stop. Diana was horrified at what her daughter had become, and Angelica soon came to realize she was being just as selfish as her father in how she was acting. Her father tried to reconcile their relationship, even offering her an internship with the Stars, but it was too late for that. Angelica moved out of Los Angeles with her mother, seeking a fresh start in San Diego. Now she's attending Thomson High but is struggling to make friends and fit in with the other kids. Though she has become better at controlling her anger, she can't seem to stop the urge to fight crime, as she has an overwhelming desire to show the world what a real hero is like.
Powers:[/b
  • [b]Ice Manipulation: Angelica can use the vapor around her and convert it into ice, this can come in the various forms and can be used as projectiles as well an form of armor
  • Combat Training: Angelica is trained in multiple forms of martial arts and hand to hand combat. She is a near expert at par-core and gymnastics
  • Ice Healing: Angelica can heal herself and others using ice and moisture

Limitations:
  • Lack of moisture: If there is no water vapor in the air or any kind of liquid around Angelica, she's not going to be able to use her ice manipulation
  • Only human: Not only does Angelica have a human physiology outside of her ice manipulation, her healing powers only go so far. She can't cure cancer or serious internal bleeding, so she's only useful for minor wounds and injuries.

Weaknesses (\):
  • Dryness: A totally dry environment is devastating for Angelica, because her powers are going to be useless
  • Fire:: A classic weakness for an Ice user, fire makes it difficult for her to use her ice creations offensively.

Likes: Reading, training, dogs, the cold, ice skating
Dislikes: Fake heroes, her father, the Los Angeles Stars, heat, being famous

Additional Information-
Birthday: August 8th
Theme song:
Favorite food: Enchiladas
Greatest fear: Becoming her father

Also, since Cecil was missed, I'll go ahead and accept him and add him and Angelica to the archive now.

If anyone notices anything wrong in the archive, please bring it to my attention.

EDIT: On second thought, Cecil's missing a bio, so I guess I won't be doing that after all.

Name: Nathan James (aka Zeus)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance (pics if possible):

Young Blood?: Yeah

Bio: Nathan was born to an upper class family, stark supporters of anti-super campaigns. They looked down on superhumans, magicians, and aliens alike as destroyers of human society. They were convinced that superheroes and villains alike were part of a complex scheme to normalize all non-humans (including magicians and aliens) before they took over. They used their vast expanses of money and influence to convince politicians and celebrities. They were dead set in their beliefs, and nothing could change that.

Nathan was always at odds with his parents over their beliefs. While they hated supers with a passion unrivaled, he had nothing but unending adoration for them. He was their biggest fan, following their movements and actions every day. He had a vast collection of action figures and comics based on these heroes, and he watched every movie about superheroes. Ever. His parents, of course, took personal offense to his love for them. They saw him as a troubled child, who had been brainwashed or something of the sort. The animosity between them as he grew up only increased with each new action figure or movie he "wasted" his money on.

Due to his parents malevolence towards him, Nathan grew up with the idea that putting an emotional brick wall between him and others is the best option. At school, he was known as the shy kid, isolated from everyone. His grades suffered, for he was too anxious to ask questions. He joined no extracurriculars or sports teams, and never even talked to teachers. He was worse than a nerd in the social ladder; he was one of the "emo kids". Kids were mean. Teachers kept pushing him. His only escape was his superhero idolization, which all ended after his parents had destroyed his vast collection.

Him and his parents never talked after that. He was basically independent already, relying on the maids and housekeepers while they were off on "business trips". They were almost never home, refusing to be in the presence of his hateful glares. He no longer had an allowance, and his trust fund had been put on hold. They had cars sent straight to the school to prevent him from doing anything. He was their prisoner, and he loathed it.

His powers first came to him in a dream, back in the summer before 9th grade. He'd had a recurring dream that he was running, running, but he couldn't tell from what. The space he was in had been encompassed by total darkness; there was no sound, no smells. Yet he could sense the rasping wheeze of death behind him as he ran, ran, until the end came. He usually woke up after he tripped and fell over the edge into the endless chasm. Not this time. This time, he did not trip. When death caught him in its clutches, it stepped back in horror as Nathan glowed with power. His mere touch dissociated its essence, and he woke up in a cold sweat. He could feel something new inside him, like a fire raging. Around him, his entire power grid was down.

Nathan's first instinct was to become like the heroes he idolized. Over the next year, he began sneaking away from his parents' iron rule and fighting off the classic "bad guys". Purse snatchers, drugstore robbers, the usual. He seemed unstoppable to their normal weapons. Knifes, bullets, fists, they all just bounced off of him. He started to call himself Zeus, after the god of lightning, law, order, and justice. It wasn't long before he was caught unawares. He had been trying to stop a normal purse snatcher when his partner snuck up behind Nathan, and shot him in the leg. This he wasn't prepared for. The bullet went clean through his leg, allowing them to escape. The minimal power he got from nearby streetlights was not enough to heal him. He had to drag himself home and feed off of his family's generators before he could finally heal himself.

That situation was, to say the least, eye-opening. Not just for him, but for his parents as well. They finally noticed that their son, the one who they had somehow gone wrong with, had become the one thing they hated most. That was enough for them. They couldn't simply throw him out on the streets; people would notice. So they did what they thought was "right", saving their one child from his corrupted mind and body. They staged his death. Or, at least, they tried.

When he saw the truck coming for his limo, he jumped out just in time, letting the truck crash into him so he could absorb its kinetic energy. He used it to heal the extensive damage as it came, using the extra energy boost to fuel his leg muscles as he ran away from the horrific scene. He went into shock; he knew his parents hated him, but he never thought they'd try to kill him. As he ran from the bloody scene, the front of the truck smashed in, he simply snapped. He didn't lose his sanity, although he came very close. He was simply forced to realize the reality of his life, and the world he lived in. He made it his mission to end all anti-super missions, no matter what.

His first victims: his parents. His presence in their house surprised them, but his resolve did more. Standing firm in their anti-super beliefs, even after his numerous attempts to convince them, led to him throwing them out of their own house while he demolished it. Over the next few years, he began to demolish other organizations against supers, considering them terrorists and criminals. His worst foe, and one he has never fully defeated, is Lycan and it’s subsidiary, Warwolf, the organizations which, according to Nathan, drove his parents mad.

Upon hearing about the "Superhero High", as Thomsen was called, a spark of Nathan's old superhero idolization popped up again. It stayed throughout all his attempts to quash it, before he finally forged a fake identity and started attending the school, nervous and giddy about the prospect of meeting other "superheroes".

Powers:
  • Energy Transferal: Nathan has the ability to absorb any and all types of energy that he crosses into an internal 'energy tank', and he must empty that tank somehow in order to survive. For example, he can absorb the kinetic energy of punches or bullets, rendering him effectively invulnerable. Similarly for electrical systems, he can absorb the energy from there whenever he needs a fill-up. He can also absorb the life-force of a human (whether he can absorb an alien's has yet to be tested). If need be, he can absorb sunlight or other light for energy (although it takes a while for him to be able to do anything effective considering the little amount of energy he receives from it). As for emptying the tank, he can reroute excess energy in his body. When he's sick, he can push some of the energy towards his white-blood cells, helping them fight off the infection. If he needs to heal an injury, he can push more energy into the healing parts of the tissue. If he needs to really think faster or smarter, he can push more energy into his brain cells. If he needs to punch harder of jump higher, energy goes into his muscles, which enhances their power to a great degree. Nathan can also reroute the energy outside of his body. Not through force fields or energy beams or anything flashy like that, but he can pump energy into lights, electrical systems, people, etc. His most effective way of getting rid of excess energy is to simply discharge it into air particles around him, heating up a room.

Limitations:
  • In order for Nathan to absorb ANY kind of energy, he must be VERY close to it. It is harder and takes more time the farther away from an energy source he is. The farthest he can absorb energy from is 30 feet away, and even then he only gets a trickle of energy. In a dark room, he can't absorb any sunlight from outside.
  • For life force; he must be touching a human with a life force in order to absorb it, the one exception. However, due to the enormous amounts of energy in life forces, attempting to absorb it all at once would severely overload Nathan’s tank. At worst, Nathan can only absorb enough to make the person faint, and even that would fill up an empty tank. Life force also takes an extremely long time to absorb, and, since he must be in physical contact with someone to absorb their life force, this ability can only be normally used in non-combat situations.
  • Everything about his power must be consciously operated. If he doesn't see bullets coming, there's no way he can absorb their kinetic energy before they hit him. Same for everything else.
  • The last and probably one of his worst limitations, Nathan has a finite amount he can keep stored in his body. The tank can only hold so much before it explodes. There is no "physical" damage to his body per se, but it usually renders him powerless for a few days, and, depending on energy levels, results in him going into a coma. So yeah, he really should empty the tank.

Weaknesses:
  • Magic: You know how magic is the use of other-dimensional energy? Well Nathan's ability is limited to energy from this dimension and his power is largely ineffective against it. For example: a magic energy blast? He can't absorb it, can't transfer it, and will definitely get damaged by it if he doesn't have energy to heal himself. Sometimes, if its powerful enough, magic can also "overload his circuits"; even though he can't refill the tank with magic, magic can blow the tank up (which will have similar effects as to when he overloads the tank).
  • Telepathy/Telekinesis/Other: Nathan has no defense against some super/alien attacks as well. His power works better with physical attacks, like with guns, or even fistfights. If someone were to telepathically control him, he would have no defense. Same for telekinesis. Someone can pick him up and trap him inside something, and he wouldn't be able to defend himself without anything in the tank. Picking him up and throwing him around to hurt him probably would only fill the tank, depending on what he hits.

Likes: Superheroes (whether they are superhumans, magicians, aliens, etc.)

Dislikes: Being the center of attention, his parents, anti-super people

Additional Information

Birthday: July 1

Greatest fear: Being rejected by his superhero idols.

No, I'm pretty sure the idea hasn't been taken yet, so go ahead and plan for your character.

I can edit out the life force part. I only included it for last resort things, but I can definitely see how that can be an issue. I haven’t read through all the apps (I’m working on it, sorry), but who is Lucan? I might be able to add that in. And I included that little bit about “Superhero High” because I figured it would at least have a similar reputation.

Hm, well, maybe if you add some additional limitation it would be balanced. Like perhaps he can only absorb enough to weaken and cause people to faint, and not killing them?

Regarding Thomsen High, I suppose it could have that sort of reputation, though I didn't think of it that way myself :P But it should be fine for you to leave that bit as is.

I’ll add a limitation preventing him from absorbing too much. I’ll say there is too much energy in a life force for him to absorb it all at once, and the worst he can do to someone is make them faint (he usually just makes them feel weak, like when blood is donated).
