YN's Admistrative Divisions

[Nordengrund]

What is your nation divided into? (eg. states, provinces, counties, departments, etc.) and how many are there? How are the divisions governed? How are they created (were they pre-existing entities that united under one national government, or were they drawn up by the government itself?)

Nordengrund consists of eight counties. Each county has its own parliament, though unlike the national government, the head of state and government are not separate offices. Each county has its own premier that serves as the head of the county parliament as well as serving as the symbol of the county. Officially and legally, the county boundaries were drawn by the national government, though the borders were often based on borders of old, now extinct kingdoms.

Kenmoria is split into nine districts all of which have no autonomy and are mainly for use in administration. They were previously ten kingdoms but one was destroyed during a war with Spain.

Our Holy Empire consists of estates that are mostly Kingdoms, Princedoms, Dioceses and Duchys, and some of those are electorships whose prince electors are electing H. T. R.'s Emperor.

Pilarcraft is made of Eleven Autonomous states that have made a confederation and share a small set of rules (The Common Code).
These States are Dalaran, Skyrim, Resdayn, High Rock, Greater Reach, Cyrodiil, Argonia, Elsweyr, Valenwood, Hammerfell and Alinor.

Valentine Z primarily occupies Myanmar, and parts of Africa. Ultimately, we ran the whole world.

Alanis Star takes up South America, Southern Africa, and Canada. They ran the Information System and Cyber-related matters.

Voorzichtigheid is our Earth's defense force. They ran the military installations, and ensure that Valentine Z is safe from invasions. We don't invade, but it's good to have weapons to defend yourself.

Victoriaans Nederlands runs our Healthcare system. They provide free healthcare and research on further improvements.

Vostrov is our secondary Environment division. They research on new materials and energy systems that are eco-friendly, and as efficient.

Mathematik and Natuurkunde - not in the map yet, runs the education system. They provide top-notch education.

Vidunderlige Nye Verden is an interesting case. They are technically under us, but they are not exactly fond of governments, so we kind of left them alone. Feels like something out of Mad Max, but more advanced. They have some sort of control and honor system not to kill each other too often.

South Vietnam consists of 31 provinces and 3 municipalities (Saigon, Da Nang and Can Tho)

The empire is divided into 36 federated states
The states are autonomous and have some power, especially over local affairs. Some states have their own monarchies, some are the same as the Empire, and the imperial city-states are republics.

[Vodkaslavia]

The United Socialist States of Vodkaslavia are divided into 133 States and 340 Districts. States are single Solar Systems that have met the requirement for population and productivity, whereas Districts are collections of Solar Systems that meet the same requirements.

States can still have multiple inhabited planets, as States will not divide among planets, so as such many of the States are typically well-developed, modernized planets or a collection of multiple planets in the same system that help to reach that goal. Districts typically also encompass non-inhabitable planets, so that way they're under an administrative rule even if they don't have a population.

Alinghi Federal-Democratic Repubblic is suddvided in 43 cantons:




Every canton eventually are suddivided in districts (thier powers and thier existece depens from canton. Some canton doesn't have disctricts). The near to citizen administrative unit is the lander (an equivalent of municipality), their organisation and powers are determined by cantonal laws.

[Shwe Tu Colony]

The Demon Empire that Shwe Tu Colony/Parfuhmerie is a part of divides itself into several provinces, which were created by the Demon Sovereign based on where the provinces are located in the world of Shwe Tu Colony, with the exception of Urgash's Domain of Ashan. These regions are generally governed by the leader of the most major city, who wields influence over the other more minor cities, if any. Currently the regions & areas are named:

3. Subtropical Seafarers of the Thallian Region
4. Dusty Explorers of the Shurmian Region

[Gandoor]

Gandoor is divided into eight yons (which can translate to English as 'regions') and one capital district, which is located within Icpo Yon.

The eight yons and capital district were created during the two year period between the dissolution of the Gandoorese monarchy and the establishment of the modern Democratic Republic, replacing the former twenty-two yons. The Gandoorese government has the authority to create, abolish, or merge administrative divisions at will, although there have not been any changes since the current ones were created.

As a unitary state, the central government is supreme but has delegated certain powers and authorities to the yons, which are all government by a House, a unicameral legislature of 150, and led by a Governor. Yons cannot create their own laws, but they do have the authority to manage their local police forces (despite all police forces officially being part of the national police), educational standards (provided they still meet the national minimum), waste management services, among other things.

The Gandoor City Capital District does not have a House nor a Governor and is instead considered to be led by the Mayor of Gandoor City and the City Council of Gandoor City, who have authority over the other towns located within the Capital District as well.

[Darmen]

Darmen is split into 32 counties and 4 municipalities. Each is governed by a Local Governing Authority.

In Carriebean there are two types of administrative Divisions, Regions and States. Regions are made up of states, with the number of states in a region being the number of representatives it's fixed to get every 20 years since the introduction of Regions in the year 1860. After twenty years, these divisions in states can be altered through actions with the consent of the governor of the state and the Regional Representative that sits on the Council. A way to sort of compare it would be redistricting every 10 years in the United States. The total number of States is 75, with five states being equally granted in each of the 15 regions.

Each of these states elects five representatives to sit on the State Representative Council of 375 members. Each region has the five states send 100 representatives for each state to the Larger Regional Representational Council of 7,500 members who are in charge of the allocation of funds through various Regional committees. Each of these states are further divided down into 25 counties for each, with four county representatives from each county making up the RRC for each state.

The terms for these representatives vary, with each Regional Representative serving unlimited 3 year terms until death or retirement. The Governors of each state vary in their terms of governance, ranging from a bare minimum of 4 years as Governor to upwards of a double 12 year terms of office. Each county representative must serve no more than twice in 2 year terms of office as a means to bring fresh blood into the offices. The Governor of each state is in charge of collecting taxes,maintaining public services,educational development,spending the money with the consent of it's county representatives who also form up each state's congress of 75 members (3 from each county). The Powers of the state congresses include passing laws,overriding governor's vetoes on bills, allocating funds, mobilizing the state militias with the advice and consent of the Governor,Having the power to declare war on other states over disagreements in crime and human trafficking and more.

[Corindia]

The seven states of Corindia are not individual states in a federation, but rather just subdivisions of a unitary central government. They're only called states due to a desire to emulate the then recent American revolution.

Antarctica is a unitary state; it consists of 23 Cities and one Unorganized District, which covers the rural areas and has a population of less than 1,000.

Each division has certain powers devolved to it, however many powers such as defence and legislation on many social issues are centrally decided by the federal government

Kavagrad is split into 5 Republics (Central, Polish, Slovak, Crimean, and Caucasian) and 1 Special Administrative District (Neda).

[Astrolinium]

The only major administrative division is the municipality of the Town of Astrolinium. The town itself is further divided into four wards for purposes of electing members of the People's Assembly, a sort of town council: North Ward, South Ward, the Farm District, and the Old Town. The wards themselves will generally have ward meetings chaired by one of their three councilors once a month, shortly before that month's meeting of the People's Assembly -- while the wards have no power to self-administrate, these meetings do serve to originate the agenda items of the bulk of the month's Assembly meeting.

The Principality of Polata City is a unitary city state. And as such the city of Polata covers most of the nation. The nation is split into 23 districts, 1 autonomous state, and one territory.

The districts are apart of the city and each district elects a district board and a district president. The district president serves in the Grand Council as a Lord Temporal.

The autonomous state is not apart of the city and therefore is not subject to many government laws. The state elects the state congress and a governor, who serves as a Lord Temporal in the Grand Council.

Mountain territory is a territory of the government and as such follows all laws of the government and only gets one seat in the People's Assembly.

The Royal Republic has three tiers of government:

National
Provincial (divided into Local governments)
Local (County and City-County, City, Town)

There are three provinces: Prince Bruce, Metropolitan, Central
There are four City-County governments, which have the powers of a City and a County: Brukeville, Commodore, Dub, East Dub. They are in Prince Bruce, Central, and Metropolitan Provinces, respectively.
There is one County government: Wusite County, Central Province
There is one City government: Valley Heights, in Wusite County, Central Province
There is one Town government: Midway, in Wusite County, Central Province

The national government has exclusive power over national security, foreign relations, interprovincial and international commerce and trade.
Provinces have exclusive power over public morality, safety, and welfare, broad catch-all categories, which include everything from education to utilities to building codes.
Local governments have exclusive control over emergency services and traffic safety. Generally, Counties have a greater scope of power than Cities or Towns.

All levels of government have at least some input on all issues, and regularly consult with each other for this reason.

The Royal Republic is somewhat of a hybrid between a unitary state and a federation. Each province has substantial power, and local governments as well, but they are obliged to stay within the minimal or fundamental guidelines set by the national government.

Each level of government has a legislature and executive.
National: tricameral Parliament, Monarch, President, Prime Minister and Cabinet make up the executive
Provincial: unicameral Provincial Assembly, Governor as executive
Local: unicameral City, County, or City-County Council, Board of Commissioners or Supervisors as executive

New Transeurasia is divided into 38 Provinces, 1 District(Moscow District), and 1 Special Administrative District(Ostberlin Special Adminstrative District). There used to be 40 Provinces, 1 District, and 1 Territory(Tundra Territory), but Tundra Territory, Russia Province, and Siberia Province became 1 province, named Rossiya Province

[Socialist Union Of Deutschland]

The Socialist Union is in terms of administration, composed of Districts that are protected by the military. There are over 1,000 districts.

[Lux Pulchrae]

Lux Pulchrae is divided into 4 ethnical regions, 21 adminstrative provinces each headed by a duke. Then each province has about 8-10 counties. so roughly about 189 counties total.

There are nine havens that make up the Kedrian Confederation. Each one has a direct democracy, with the inhabitants of that haven sending members to the haven council to represent them. A commodore heads the council and represents the haven and loosely administers it.
