Procedure:
1. Include your name while voting. Vote “Aye” or “Nay.”
2. Address “Mr/Madam Speaker”
3. Motions require a second
4. Speaker decides on which bill is considered
5. Bill is unveiled in “first reading.” Debate begins in “second reading.” Bill can only progress past this point with government support. After this, bill goes into committee stage; a group of maximum 10 MPs will be chosen by Speaker to go into committee about bill. They make amendments, or can scratch the complete bill. After this, the bill goes back to whole Commons, where third reading occurs. Final vote takes place; if it passes, bill will be sent to House Of Lords.
Schedule:
Sunday-Monday: First & Second Reading
Tuesdays: Committee
Wednesdays: Third Readings
Thursdays: Votes
Fridays: PMQs (can ask questions to any member of the cabinet, but you must specify who the question is going to).
Saturday: House of Lords debate & vote.
