The problem is, if you're scrolling posts down, that would register as still alive initally. At least to me. Hopefully without being too jarring, it should be easy to recognize that that poster no longer exists.

Partly inspired by the flag of Lombardy:

The poppy (sanguine quatrefoil), in heraldry, symbolizes sleep and death, sacrifice, remembrance, hope and joy.

That looks really good, maybe the writing should be slightly darker grey, but it is obvious what it means.
