Nauchrten - Azen Talks [CLOSED]

It was a crisp spring morning on the island of Nauchrtenkapitell, the beating heart of Nauchrtenfield. The snow had melted, only the small remains of one big mountains of moved snow remained as slush. At the Nauchrtenkapitell State Military Air Force Base; the biggest military airfield on the island, as well as home to the central command and control for the Nauchrtenkapitell arial military area. It was a busy place at all times, with patrolling guards, airmen with flight suits on, mechanics, traffic controllers ect walking between the buildings, and it the hallways. On the tarmac outside service carts drove, either to transport men or material. On two of the runways stood Jagt/Attack/Aufkälrungz Flugzeug 03 ready for takeoff. The reason for this; they were to launch any moment to intercept and escort a Concorde, from Azenyanistan, carrying VIP's from the same nation, Aeveya the Chief Secretary of the Advocacy, and Ary; the Development Advocate Chief. Waiting to receive them was the Foreign Minister of Nauchrtenfield; Franzcich Fredinad. Together with a section of soldiers from the State Guard. He watched from a waiting room as the two aircraft took off, and flew out over the coast line. Not that anyone thought the planes would be needed, but it was tradition and protocol to escort foreign VIP's, as a way of showing respect.

Some more time passed, and before long three dots could be seen approaching, the fighters landing on runways further away to receive after flight maintenance, with the concorde landing on the closest runway to the control tower. As it came to a halt and service crew started to run and drive upon it to place down clamps, and start refueling and unloading. Everything done with military precision and efficiency. Franzcich had already walked down to the ground floor, and as the service crew placed a staircase to let the passengers out he and his guard, marching behind in two colons of 5, rifles on their backs. Walked up the the stair case, and when the passengers had walked down he saluted and spoke "Secretary Aeveya , Chief Ary, welcome to Nauchrtenkapitell, and Nauchrtenfield. I am Foreign Minister Franzcich Fredinad pleased to meet you. I hope your travel was eventless." he said, ending the salute and extending his hand as well to greet the two guests

The two women were so very different from each other. Ary was a mountain woman while Aeveya, the secretary of former Chief Advocate Tyena, was a woman of the valley. Ary had white skin while Aeveya had skin that was less white but it indeed seemed to look smoother than the skin of Ary. Both women though were of the same height, wore the same yellow cloches and carried the same symbols of the Advocacy. But the symbol of the Advocacy was more of a banner than of a symbol. It displayed the white star that had yellow borders around it. The white-yellow star had seven points and behind it, three horizontal bars. The central bar was red while the top and bottom bars were black. That was the banner of the Advocacy. And these two women carried it on the pins they put on the front pockets of their business suits.

Ary smiled at the man while the secretary nodded and said with no further expression on her face

"Franzcich Fredinad, I am glad to meet you. So is my companion. We are here on the behalf of the Chief Advocate. He wishes that his name and other details about him not be known. He is quite the secretive man. Moving on, though, I do hope that there is much to discuss today."

Then she nodded to Ary and Ary stepped forward and said to the minister

"I will assume that you know me and the secretary. Anyway, Mr. Franzcich, thank you for personally receiving us today."

Then she nodded to Ary and Ary stepped forward and said to the minister

"I will assume that you know me and the secretary. Anyway, Mr. Franzcich, thank you for personally receiving us today."

"Only by file, and the honor is mine to receive you on this day. I was thinking that we would start the day of by showing you where you shall reside in the State Palace Area" The minister replied, before stepping out of the way, the soldiers doing the same, creating a wide opening for the 3 civilians to walk past. "This way, your luggage is already on the way there as we speak". the minister said as made a motion towards a service truck carrying any and all of the Azen's luggage. Before turning around and slowly starting to walk towards the entrance of the airport. no doubt followed by the new arrivals. Behind them marched the soldiers in a steady pace. If the Azens where to look at the minister's legs they would see that he had unconsciously fallen into the same march that the soldiers kept.

Inside the airport the collection of humans would walk for some short time, before finding themselves underground in a train station. In it a train painted in the Blue, black and white that designated it as a special purpose state train, in this case, the transportation of VIP's. The minister entered the front cart, and the soldiers entered another cart. Inside the first cart the dignitaries would be treated to what could be described as spartan luxury. Metal, glass and angled shapes, chairs with black leather and so on. As well as a well stocked bar disk. The minister sat down in one of the leather chairs and took up a prepared glass filled with alcohol free red wine. "Feel free to help yourself to anything your hearts wants in the bar, it also has snacks and lighter meals if that is to your taste. We should be at the Place in around ten minutes" he said, at the same time the train left the platform, smoothly, almost so one would not even notice.

Only the Secretary was able to notice how the minister moved as the soldiers moved. She smiled to herself as she shook her head and whispered to herself

"Foreigners, they are so interesting."

But once the two Azens reached the carts, the Secretary smiled to herself again while Ary nodded at the arrangements and said to the Minister as they got onto the cart with him

"I must say, this is such a flattery. I cannot thank you enough. But I must then. Thank you."

Meanwhile, the Secretary attended to herself via the bar. Ary sat down on one of the black leather chairs and sighed as she said

"This chair...I love it. Tell me, Mr. Franzcich, how well does your nations furniture industry do? If such a chair can exist in this nation then that must mean it was made by highly skilled crafters...or by careful machines and experts in a factory."

Ary also took a glass of red wine for herself and tasted it a little before putting it away and continuing

"It's a really good chair."

The minister chuckled internally at the question, fair as it was, he was no prepared to be questioned about the chairs in the trains. Nevertheless he was quick on the reply "Our furniture sector is nationally a large and healthy sector, but smaller on the international stage. But healthy nonetheless. For theses chairs..." he spoke, thinking for a moment, trying to remember if he knew where these particular chairs were made. then he spoke again "they were made in a factory staffed by machines. But the art of producing with your own hands is still very much alive here in Nauchtenfield. Both here in the capitol and on the mainland." he said. Sipping from his glass, he leaned back a bit into his chair. The minister had always had a love for traveling with trains, they were so smooth, like you were not moving at all, except the ever so slight sway from the high speed turns

Ary nodded at what he said. Then she said to him after a little sip of wine

"That is good to know. In Azenyanistan, because of the peace and because we are safe again, the art of making things by hand and also by machine has come again. Business is booming or not. But one thing is very clear: Azenyanistan is developing. It's building up. Things are quiet so things are allowed to rise. To climb."

She then sighed and continued

"There is so much work to do, isn't there?"

She sipped some wine and put her glass away and said, leaning forward

"Mr. Franzcich, if there is anything I want that you might want, it is a fair and good deal. I hope to talk concerning any possible deal your nation and my nation can make that will make the both of our nations prosper. If not a deal, then perhaps an agreement. If not an agreement, then perhaps a nod."

She the nods to the Secretary. The Secretary then said

"She means to get to the point: Azenyanistan is interested in befriending this nation. Your nation, Mr. Franzcich."

"Indeed there is much to be done, for both of us. I too seek a fair deal between our nations, for i also seek continued good relations with our allies and friends." the minister replied, raising his glass in a combined toast and nod in agreement. "So tell me Chief Ary, what, in the best of worlds do you wish to see in these talks? I shall do my best to give that to you, as far as i am allowed. As allies, and hopefully friends." he then said, placing down the glass and instead reaching for a small biscuit; a small gingerbread looking and tasting thing popular and native to the nation; known as "Pepparkaka" litteraly meaning "pepper cake". Even if most of the taste came from other species. The minister made a small nod towards the table, inviting the Chief and Secretary to the small sweets on the table once again.

The two politely shook their heads and remained as they were with the Minister. Chief Ary replied after she made sure that nothing was in her hands

"Thank you, Mr. Franzcich. I hope you are informed of what is happening in Donnerland. I did not expect to see that country, which was one of the many countries that tried to help us in the past and in our past conflicts, go into flames that quickly. I am sorry for the Azulnish and my fellow Azens who are there but I know I cannot do anything except do what I can for my country, Azenyanistan, and for myself and for the people of my country. The ones in Donnerland are beyond my reach.

But yes, the point is, Azenyanistan has changed. Two years have passed, allowing us to recover. We have crushed the bandits. We have eliminated many criminal organizations. And we have survived. I never thought my country would. But we did. We did the impossible thanks to so many of our friends and to our own. It is a shame though that things no longer feel the same as before. But it could be for the better.

And because of this change, Mr. Franzcich, we want to conserve, to protect, to keep the peace. To remain stable and strong and safe. I will not allow my country to go down in flames as Donnerland did and I will not allow another nightmare to consume us again. So, Mr. Franzcich, let me be blunt: I need the allies, the power, the manpower and the supplies, the funding and the support to continue to uphold order and to keep Azenyanistan safe and sound and quiet for as long as it can. And in return, for you and your nation, my country promises to give you and your nation our friendship. If you need the same thing we ask, we will supply you with as much help as we can. Our country is also rich in resources so please don't let the deserts fool you. We can sell glass, oil, natural gas, minerals, carpets, some lumber, materials for construction and of course, workers. Workers are important and our Azen Overseas Workers are important to everyone. From the almighty janitor to the highest professions, AOWs have taken to a lot of careers and occupations. Yes, our population has been cut to a point but that is not stopping Azens from giving to the world even when the world becomes silent when an Azen speaks to them. Mr. Franzcich, I believe you and I are both loyal to our own nations but since we are talking about friendship, let us discuss being loyal to each other as well."

After that, she took her cup and sipped from it before putting it down again. The Secretary then said

"We thank you very much for the military equipment you have given to our country. And we would like to ask the same of your country again in return for our own assistance should you need our assistance."

"Indeed, the recent developments in Donnerland, DEN and the rest of the region are worrying. I am well versed in them, as is my duty as Foreign Minister to my nation." Franzcich replied quickly, taking some more time before continuing to speak; "You had the curtesy to be blunt, so i shall repay you in kind; Nauchrtenfield is ready to assist Azenyanistan with funds, material, manpower and friendship that you so seek, you need just specify what you need. We stand ready to supply you with materials you need to continue prosper, and the means to enforce the peace your nation have fought so hard for. We strive to act as a force of peace and stability, by force if necessary. Like those units recently deployed to the United Socialist States to stabilize the country. If you and your nation so wish Nauchrtenfield will gladly send forces to Azenyanistan, either to keep the peace or train your nation." he said. thinking for a second.

"It is true that we speak as the voice of our respective nations, but in the eyes of Nauchrtenfield, Friendship and loyalty are much the same. We stand and die with our friends and brethren, that is the Nauchrten way." he said slowly, sipping from his glass once he had finished speaking.

Ary nodded to what he said and said in return

"Thank you, Mr. Franzcich. It seems that you and I have some common ground, our nations sharing in it as well." She then sighed and said further

"I shall later provide the materials, the equipment and whatever necessities we wish to obtain in a list. With that list, you may do as you wish in giving us these things. We will work out everything in the process and in the end, this will benefit our two nations. In five years time, this connection between my nation and yours may be the first step in our friendship to each other."

Ary then stood up and said

"Again I thank you. You are most kind."

The light talks continued for another few minutes under the speedy trip, and if the occupants looked out the winds they would see how the underground soon was replaced by light coming in, they where now high above the sea, and could only see it far off in the distance. Hardly uprising, seeing as the train was zooming forward in around two-hundred kph. Before long it softly slowed down, and came to a halt above ground. Franzcich rose from his chair, and spoke "We have arrived" he said before walking up to the door, and pressing the button to open it. He made a motion for the two guests to exit. As they did and looked around they would see that they where now in the small Nauchrten alps, inside a old resort from when the nation still had nobility, a large nineteenth century estate. it's grey granite walls in contrast to the prestine train that brought them there.

"This way" Franzcich said as he started to walk up towards the doors of the estate, them opening automatically as he approached, inside a man dressed in naval dress uniform stood, but colored white instead of black. The man introduced himself as the head servant and caretake of the estate, before showing the two guests to their rooms. Located wall to wall. The rooms where large and spacious, with fully equipped toilets and baths in a smaller separate room. It to in the same spartan luxury that the train had been in. After having ensured that the two guests lacked nothing, including their belongings that had been transported as well to the rooms, the head servant let them know that dinner would be served in little over a hour, and that Minister Franzcich would join them by that time. Before finally adding that He and his staff stood at their disposal

"Of course, one moment please" the servant said, before muttering something low below his breath, a few seconds later uniformed staff started to arrive. all wearing similar uniforms as to the head servant. they lined up, and the head servant spoke "I am Carston, Head servant and administrative operations chief for this estate" he moved his hand and gestured to the servant standing next to him, a older lady, "This is Hanna, Head maid", then his hand moved to a younger man, no older then thirty "This is Baxter, Head Chef" finally it moved to a younger woman, "And this is Adriana, Head Gardener, and in charge of security. Unfortunately the rest of the staff is currently occupied, but i had Hanna bring folders containing their, and our files. Your personal Maids will be with your shorty, they are finishing preparations on another site in the estate right now. I do apologize for their delay." Carston said, at the same time Hanna walked up to Aneytand extended two relatively thick folders, both labeled "Sonderbear Estate employer personnel file - Not Classified" containing, like stated, full personnel files of all the thirty-three members of staff. Carston gave Aneyt some time to look at the folders before speaking again "My ladies, what more can we do for you?"

She smiled and patiently and interestingly listened to each of the introductions made by Carston to each of the heads of the servants. Once all the introductions were made and the folders were looked through, Aneyt returned the folders to Carston and then said to him "Thank you, Mr. Carston. My name is Aneyt, I am the Devil's Advocate for the Azen government. My companion here is my secretary and aide." When asked about what more they could do for them, she shook her head and said "Well, if I may so ask, I wish to know what food would come our way and if it would be a pleasure and a convenience for the staff if I and my companion could have some non-alcoholic drinks for the coming meal. And perhaps I could be told more about this place, yes?"

Lobster and potato pies, and for desert ostkaka" Carston said, and unless the two guests payed attestation, they might have missed that in the time he spoke the rest of the staff had left the room, no doubt to work on their own areas of the estate. Carston contained speaking "I will have more detailed nutritional information prepared for your convenience at once. It is our pleasure and duty to satisfy your needs, a range of non-alcoholic beverages will be available, both when food is served and outside of it. I can give a breif summary of the history of this estate, then i am afraid i must leave, your maids should be here soon" he spoke, and he had not more then finished the sentenced before the door opened and two maids, dressed in typical 19th century style. Carston looked them up quickly, no doubt inspecting them for any failures in appearance.

With that, i must bid my farewell, the maids will see to all yours needs " he said, before bowing and leaving the room. As he did the two maids bowed and int reduced themselves both as Amanda. If the two Azen where to pay attention, they would be hard to see that they two maids look very similar, the major difference being a light height discrepancy

Do not hesitate to ask for anything" she said. Once she was done the slightly shorter one took to words as well "I am Karin, i have been assigned as the personal maid and servant of Lady Ary. It will be my duty, and honor to tend to your every wish and need for the duration of your stay. Do not hesitate to ask for anything" she said. Once both of them had introduced themselves they stood to attention, awaiting further instructions and orders from their new masters. Yet they had time before the dinner was to come, and only time would tell how the two Azen officials would take to the martial society of Nauchrtenfield, and it's interesting social codes and rules.

After all, it is not without reason that the famous proverb "States have a military, The Nauchrten military have a state" exsisted

Aneyt smiled and nodded. Even Ary was impressed and nodded. Then Aneyt requested "If that is so, Katarina, may I please ask for some tea?" And Ary said "I have nothing I wish to ask of you for now, but I do wish for you to help me learn more about this place."

After saying such things, the two looked at each other and awkwardly smiled. They were not used to having servants. But since they would be around here for quite some time, they decided to make the best of it.

Aneyt smiled and nodded. Even Ary was impressed and nodded. Then Aneyt requested "If that is so, Katarina, may I please ask for some tea?" And Ary said "I have nothing I wish to ask of you for now, but I do wish for you to help me learn more about this place."

After saying such things, the two looked at each other and awkwardly smiled. They were not used to having servants. But since they would be around here for quite some time, they decided to make the best of it.
