Lisander Rugby Calendar doesn't match the Seasogs Calendar, since it's annual. The teams for the first Seasogs of the year come from Campeonato Nacional de Clubes. The next teams will be indicated from Pro12.

The Lisander Qualifiers for the RUCT Seasogs Championship are:

Harlequins (Nacional de Clubes Champion, URSA representant)
Saracens (Nacional de Clubes Runner-up, SRU representant)
St. Helen's RFC (URSA representant)
Pines Athletic RFC (URPA representant)
The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

The Second Return of Apoxian Rugby

Apoxian Rugby Returns after the International Hiatus in a new form. The regional competition, which was only in place for a single season after the Super Sixteen, has been scrapped, with a return to a renamed Apox Rugby Ten, now called Apox Tier One. This is comprised of ten teams who have been adjudged by a complicated ranking formula to be the "best" currently in Apox. The top two teams will qualify for Seasogs competition while the bottom team will be relegated to the tier below.

The second tier, formerly called the Apox Premier League in the Super Sixteen days, has been expanded to twelve teams and renamed the Apox Tier Two. This comprises the rest of the teams from the regional format in the last season, except for Greenfields, the twenty-third ranked team in the coefficients, and Hudd Trolls, who have gone bust. There will be one promotion spot to the AT1 and one relegation spot.

Additionally, bonus points will be awarded for in both tiers for the first time ever, with one bonus point being awarded for scoring four or more tries in a match (judged to be 33 points or more scored) and one bonus point being awarded for losing by less than a bonus point.

Without further ado, here are the results from the 596 season:

I object. We must wait The Valhallan Union since TVU have the set coefficients and the experience for it. RUCT has been made by this nation since that long. Please be patient and respect all TVU's contribution to this sport in Nationstates.

But I agree waiting without any further notice is in fact annoying. I'll drop TVU a TG.

Bvrianian Rugby Championship

After 21 seasons and 21 years of semi-professional rugby, the Bvrianian rugby season was finally getting a shake up. A joint deal between the Bvrianian Rugby Board, Paddican Action News Network, and the Brian's Burger fast food chain, worth nearly $20 million annually, was set to professionalize the sport. Controversially, the number of teams was cut from 14 to 10. This resulted in a shorter season with less games, but more money for each team. As well, every team stadium is going have their minimum capacity raised to 15,000, in response to the ever increasing numbers of stadium goers.

Of the four cut teams, only one have completely vanished. The Dogs from the city of New Dublin have all but vanished from the country. Their tiny stadium was overtaken by the city's football clubs, all player contracts were cancelled, and all merchandise taken off the shelves. In one of the most unexpected moves of the year, the three other clubs cut, those being the Galway Warriors, Ironwind Eagles, and Paddican Hunters, have announced a code switch to Rugby League, and have plans to form the first ever competition for the sport. League has a rather bloody history in the country, and was actually banned for a 50 year period while professionalism was stamped out across all sports. The ban was lifted when Rugby went professional, but the sport only saw action from the odd Union team playing to keep fit during off season. This new competition might even lead to Bvriania fielding a national League team one day.

The Bvrianian Rugby Championship features the 10 teams playing each other home and away. Each team will earn 4 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 0 for a loss, as well as 1 bonus point for scoring 4 or more tries (scoring 31 or more), and a losing bonus point for coming within 7 points of the opposition. The top 4 teams at the end of the season will enter the semifinals, followed by the final to determine the winner for the season. The top 4 teams may also qualify for the international Seasogs competition, it's yet to be negotiated.

Table as of the final Matchday:

Bvrianian Rugby Championship Season 1 Pld W D L PF PA PD TBP LBP Pts

Since it seems like PIS isn't overly active again, in the spirit of reviving some form of international tournament, I would like to debut the Dwile International Tournament as a stop-gap of sorts until PIS is able to scorinate Seasogs again.

The entrance will be the same as for Seasogs, at two teams per league, and a maximum of two leagues per user. For multiassociational leagues, TG me.

You can post entrance in the same way as for Seasogs, by posting in league results in this thread. Should you wish to use teams posted for the last Seasogs, please TG me or contact me on IRC to let me know you want them considered for the inaugural Dwile International Tournament (DIT).

I will be cutting off entrants on Wednesday 20th September at midday UTC+1.

The Rugby Coalition is a brand new rugby union organization with teams and franchises based in the four nations of Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz, and Copper Cuprum, who are all loosely organized into the politico-economic organization known simply as the APOC Coalition (APOC standing for Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz, and Copper Cuprum). The sport of rugby union has a good and respectable following throughout the four nations of the APOC Coalition, but aside from Abanhfleft and probably Pridnestrovia, there aren't enough teams and support for individual leagues across all four countries. The solution to this particular problem was the establishment of the Rugby Coalition, in which all four countries would send forth four teams each to the competition to compete against each other.

These are the sixteen teams that make up the Rugby Coalition:
Abanhfleft
Bytuch Feld Dinosaurs
Haranguer Death Worms
Jasvirabad Titans
San Seriffe Bad Hombres

Copper Cuprum
Albatross Bed Gon
Ken Gon Rooks
Red Gon Red Bulls
Wa Gon Carabiners

Oontaz
Manitogoro Madness
Nineveh Whales
Sasmuan Supermen
Tikrit Oilers

Pridnestrovia
Bierburg Sentinels
Kesselburger Packers
Oshkosh Dnistrosh
Zheleznogorsk Atomsplitters

The Rugby Coalition was inaugurated on September 19, 2021, and its first season has just been concluded successfully with Pridnestrovia's Oshkosh Dnistrosh taking home the first ever Rugby Coalition champions title.

Below is the final results table of the first ever season of the Rugby Coalition, as well as rules for the allocation of points to the teams.
4 points for a win
2 points for a draw
0 points for a loss
1 bonus point for a team scoring at least 4 or more tries in a game
1 bonus point for a team that lost by less than or equal to a converted try (7 points)

The APOC Coalition: a loose politico-economic union between
Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum,
although it's only ever useful for international rugby and now ice hockey.

Organizers of the Rugby Coalition, the Coalition Rugby League, and the Koalition Hockey League
Obvious puppet of Abanhfleft is obvious

The Lisander Qualifiers for the RUCT Seasogs Championship are:

Harlequins (Nacional de Clubes Champion, URSA representant)
Saracens (Nacional de Clubes Runner-up, SRU representant)
St. Helen's RFC (URSA representant)
Pines Athletic RFC (URPA representant)

Since the number was reduced to 2 per nation and not 4 (as permitted by TPI), consider only Harlequins and Saracens as Lisander qualifiers.

Alice Bay, my puppet, keeps the same two.

Final
APX Dwile Jerseys 7–17 Oshosh Dnistrosh COA

Therefore Oshosh Dnistrosh of the APOC is the inaugural winner of the Dwile International Tournament!

Should PIS not return from hiatus within in the next few months, then I'll run another one of these, for which I would schedule a provisional cut-off of 20th November 2017. I'll post a one week warning should PIS not have re-emerged and we're getting close to the date. The entry criteria would be the same as for this one, and I suppose should I run another I'll introduce ranks based of the UICA coefficients rather than just running it with RP bonus like I did with this one.

Dwile International Tournament

With no return of PIS, I guess I can run another one of these then. This is your two week warning for entries, with the cut-off for entries being:

Tuesday 21st November at midday UTC

Seeing as this is now more than a one-off, I will create ranks and a logo in time for the tournament to begin. Get those entries in!

EDIT: Ranks edited into post.

Pos  Team                     Ass  Rank  DIT1
1 Oshosh Dnistrosh COA 17.00 17.00
2 Dwile Jerseys APX 14.00 14.00
3= The Northern Blue Lions NTN 10.00 10.00
3= Harlequins LIS 10.00 10.00
5 Newport Rugby ALB 8.00 8.00
6 Osea Rugby ALB 7.00 7.00
7= Saracens LIS 4.00 4.00
7= San Seriffe Bad Hombres COA 4.00 4.00
7= S.C N-City NTN 4.00 4.00
7= Southwestern Blue Tigers DAR 4.00 4.00
11= Coastal Golden Chiefs DAR 2.00 2.00
11= JK Memorial Squad APX 2.00 2.00

Pos Association Rank DIT1
1 APOC Coalition 9.50 9.50
2 Apox 8.00 8.00
3 Alice Bay 7.50 7.50
4= Lisander 7.00 7.00
4= Natanians and Nosts 7.00 7.00
6 Darmen 3.00 3.00

Ranks were applied as follows: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. If the tournament should grow large enough to have qualifying rounds, then provision for those along with provision for extra points for reaching certain rounds will be made. The association rankings were created by adding together the tournament contributions from that associations team and dividing by the number of teams participating by that association. Teams entered from an association with no existing rank will have 20% of their association rank.

The never-ending drama of Rugby Union Champions Trophy
Mélanie Cavalera, to therugbyzone.ls

With another edition of Dwile Tournament approaching, we start again to receive many doubts of our readers:

"So, another Dwile Tournament? When we'll have a Seasogs?"

We don't know, people. We'd love to know, but there's no update from Seasogs organization, currently based in The Valhallan Union. What we know? What we said. Lisanderian executive members of NationStates Rugby Board contacted the Seasogs organization. And were promised to have a new edition about June. This edition never happened. The Lisanderian NSRB executives " keep beholding the state of Domestic Rugby and searching opportunity to bring back the Champions Trophy, under Seasogs or under another Sponsor", this is the official answer.

On the other side, Andreas Vins, president of Lisander Rugby Union, and Alejandro Adurtza, CEO of Imperan Rugby Union, are a lot more positive than it. They want to bring the organization of the tournament for a committee based in Lisander. In a previous interview, Adurtza said to TV5 Sports:

"We have great things in mind, yes. We think about bring the Rugby World Cup 27 to Lisander? Yes! We think about bring the Champions Trophy to Lisander? Of course yes. But we can't do this in this moment. Lisanderian rugby is currently in a moment of renovation. The PRO12 is on a nice pace and we can't risk this. We are now working to strengthen rugby in Imperan League at the same time we fix the last glitches in Lisander Rugby."

Other problem is the Calendar. Lisander Rugby Union Calendar doesn't match the Seasogs/Dwile Tournament Calendar. The PRO12 only started in early september. It won't end before the next Dwile Tournament. Send main squads to the international tournament could prejudice the clubs. And there is the lack of proper qualifiers. For the first Dwile tournament, winners of Nacional de Clubes were sent (as automatic qualifiers for Winter Seasogs). LRU doesn't know if "best placed teams at the sign-ups cutoff" will be accepted as fair entrants.
