Weakness is never degenerate. Pathetic, perhaps, but never degenerate. Degeneracy is when you take the power you have and use it to spite your fellow man. Debauchery is only degenerate, for example, insofar as it is done to reinforce one's 'superiority' over those who cannot engage in blind hedonism.
