Hmm. Inesea's posts would be a bad starting point, but I can summarize briefly. Our history hasn't involved Greek much, amusingly, despite its position in the cradle of humanity. The only real differences you'll see from OTL Neolithic Greece are the influences of traders from the nearby nations, the Imperium and the Confederation of Helios, and probably a growing Christian presence. Also, the proliferation of bronze and iron tools, as compared to antiquity.

Looks like I have a lot to catch up on. I'll try backreading from your previous threads, but I guess I'll just ask questions when I need answers.

So, first things first: Christians?!

I've got a small civilization centered around Argos established. While it's largely still a primitive pantheonic system, Jesus Christ has been accepted as a God of Medicine. For a small minority, but a rapidly growing one, proper modern Christianity has been embraced in two forms. In the north, Imperial Christians spread ever more and in the south, Josephine Christians are a swelling faction.

The whole of Greece is relatively undeveloped. The largest settlements probably cap out at 800-1,000 pre-Author intervention.

I’ll let you in on a dirty secret of geology; copper and iron are everywhere. The better question is: can the locals identify iron deposits? Do the locals have the resources and inclination to spend time on concentrating low-grade iron ores/sands into useful quantities of metal?

Building on that

Tin is the major limiting factor in making bronze, not copper. Copper on its own is an okay metal to use, especially if you have no other metals. Iron is pretty shit until you get better forging and smelting techniques. Bronze is probably the best early era metal, but without tin its hard to make and expensive to acquire.

To add some bonus context to this:

Ye olde Monotheists are very much in evidence in Europe, because Viktor reintroduced the idea to the Neolithic world, specifically in the form of Christianity. Another Author, Isaac Duringer, also introduced a vaguely Papal Christianity to Scythia in the Caucasus/southern Russia.

They’re an insidious plague upon the verdant untouched world of animists and hentotheists.

Full Name: Cameron Lawrence McCabe
Age: 17
Appearance: Heavy build, dark brown hair, light brown eyes. A remarkably unremarkable face with a nice, greek nose. Of mixed European, mainly Civilized (hellenic) heritage.
Height and Weight: 5'10, 185lb
Religion: Atheist, born Jewish though never practiced the faith beyond the occasional mitzvah
Field of Expertise: (Optional- Please only fill out if you, IRL, are extremely knowledgeable about the area. Working with limitations and strengths of you in reality is part of the purpose of this RP. Most writers will leave this blank.)
Skills and Strengths: Pretty good geography skills and decent knowledge of history, would like to think of himself as an above-average tactician (though he hasn't exactly had much practical experience beyond video games and some knowledge of a few historical battles), mediocre marksman (bow & very small caliber rifle), quick learner (when interested), some leadership (can sound like he knows what he's talking about and make a lot of promises he probably can't keep), robust grasp on economics and the all important ability to deny and bury any depression he might be feeling.
Weaknesses: Bored easily, procrastinator/lazy, bad public speaker (closer to droning background noise than oratory), not exactly a social butterfly
Where in the world are you landing?: Manzanillo, Mexico
RP Sample:
Canton, Great Qing

Looking at Canton, one could barely tell China had just pulled itself out of a brutal, generation long civil war. The only city to allow Barbarian merchants to ply their wears and purchase superior Qing goods, Canton was largely spared from the White Lotus rebellion, it's people far too invested in trade to put their incomes at risk by taking sides in a revolution. Instead, Canton only grew richer as the conflict progressed, exacting it's considerable taxes and tariffs upon European weapons being imported by both sides, and diverting Porcelain, Silk and Tea taxes from the Imperial coffers into their own, knowing the Qing far too preoccupied with Xue Tiande and his peasants to try and root out corruption in their far southern provinces.

Whilst many would think the end of the war would result in a crack down on the corrupt government officials of Canton and a major loss of income as importation of European goods (and Indian opium) slowed down, the trade city has only gone to further thrive and grow thanks to new legislation pushed by the Guomin Dahui's mercantile plurality both lessening Imperial taxes and vastly increasing the tariffs on the West whilst too artificially inflating the prices of major Chinese exports. Though this has made an enriched Canton the Dahui's only major base of support, it too has, to say the least, greatly angered the Western merchants who, after traveling for months across countless miles of stormy seas, suddenly find themselves faced with skyrocketing prices. Nor will it likely sit well with the Western consumers, to whom the increased cost of these already expensive goods will no doubt prove quite an annoyance.

The most dangerous of the slighted factions, however, is likely the Imperial bureaucracy, and perhaps worse, the army. Faced with slumping or stagnating wages as a direct result of the massive tax cuts being instituted in Canton by self-serving merchants in the Dahui, many in the government and army are already grumbling about the widely hated Guomin Dahui and the cowed Jiaqing Emperor unwilling to stand up to them.
(If you'd rather a longer or character based RP sample I'll be happy to write a new one)

Ah, suddenly Mexico landings, das gut. The only note I would make is that the RPing here should be from the perspective (first, third, etc) of your character, but I’m sure you understand that. As such, accepted, and welcome.

The plague is Christianity for us Pagans have done nothing but sit idly by as they destroyed our way of life! Even if its monotheistic Paganism via the Night Owl, it will be the example that will stand against the Christian tide.

I will be exploring via the Skulk but it would take some time to reach beyond the Imperium.

I'm going to go with the maximum amount of people I can have in Athens, since - I'm assuming - the history of Athens isn't as fleshed out, so around a thousand people and it's already kind of a trading city with a small port village nearby.

Quite badly- the NE Passage ate ships for breakfast even in the era of steamships and clippers. Regardless, there’s no real IC reason for Ego to commit the resources and men for an expedition to Russia.
