A Meeting of Allies (Closed) (MenaKlent)

[East Klent]

President Jupoi was in the Senior Staff meeting when Laura Bennet, the Executive Secretary, came into the President's Office, "Sir, Secretary Rienburg is here to see you." The President looked at his watch and then back at Mrs. Bennet, "Send him in." He turns back to the staff, "Allright, we push the Labor Secretary to five, and move up Senator Jones to three, correct?" "Yes, Sir, and Dinero (The Campaign Manager) wants a word at two." Sam McPatrick, the Deputy Chief of Staff, answered. "Good. That's all?" the President asked. "Yes, Sir." Will Saunders, the Communications Director, answered. "Okay, dismissed." the President said as Secretary Rienburg walked into the room.

The staff stood up and left the room. President Jupoi shook Secretary Rienburg's hand, "Mr. President, we have been communicating with The Kingdom of Menassa through diplomatic channels for about a week now, and their King seems very interested in forming an alliance with us, and speaking on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Department, I think we should invite them to talks about forming such an alliance." "Interesting; is there anything suspicious about them?" the President asked. "No there isn't, Sir." the Secretary responded. "Okay, invite them to the talks, and have them in the Williams Room." the President accepted. "Yes, Sir. Thank you Mr. President." the Secretary thyanked the President and left the room.

Once Secretary Rienburg was back at his office at the Foreign Affairs building, he himself sent the invitation to the King of Menassa. It read,

You are invited to talks involving such matters as forming an alliance between the nations of East Klent and Menassa at the Executive House in our capitol city Williamsburg, D.K at a date of your choosing. I strongly urge you to accept this invitation for we believe such an alliance would be beneficial to both of our nations.

Upon receiving the message King Gideon and his Holiness Shimon HaKohen Gadol made there way to East Klent hping to pursue peace and alliance between these two nations. "This is Sinai one to tower are we cleared to land?" The pilot said into the mic.

[East Klent]

Williamsburg, D.K. International Airport

The air-traffic controller picked up his receiver and answered the approching plane, "Sianai One, this is Tower, you are cleared to land, repeat you are cleared to land." He put down the receiver for a moment to call down to the Terminal Supervisor, "Hey Mitch, is Gate C-10 open?" "Yes it is. Is this the King?" the Supervisor asked. "Yeah, it is. You might want to direct the Secretary there, they're coming in." the controller suggested. "Roger that." the Supervisor said in response. The controller put the phone down and picked up the receiver again, "Sianai One, Gate C-10 is open for use, repeat Gate C-10 is open for use."

Leading a small procession of Presidential Guard agents, Under Secretaries and staff, Secretary Rienburg walked down Terminal C to Gate 10, where the Terminal Supervisor told him where the King's plane was going to come in. One of the staffers noticed that there wasn't anyone exept for themselves at the gate, "Are you sure this is the right gate, Mr. Secretary?" she asked. "Yes," the Secretary answered, somewhat annoyed, "I am certain that it is."

[Menassa]

"The plane landed with a much unneeded thud that bounced its two passengers "Sires we are here." The pilot said. As the door opened the first to step out was Shimon Of course he was wearing his priestly garments as was required. And after him came King Gideon wearing his royal leather grieves and armor. They stepped off the plane to greet the people waiting for them. "Hello I am King Gideon of Menassa". Gideon said wit ha bow. "And I am Shimon HaKohen Gadol High priest of Menassa pleasure to meet you sirs". Shimon finished.

[East Klent]

Secretary Rienburg greeted King Gideon and Shimon with a bow, "Greetings, your Highnesses, and welcome to East Klent. Presidential Gaurd agents Gram Conner and Joyce Finnick have been assigned as your protection detail for the duration of you visit. President Jupoi will meet us at the Executive House. We have a car waiting at the enterance to the airport, and my secretary may take any luggage you might have brought with you. Once again, welcome to East Klent."

[Menassa]

"Thank you for the honorable invite." Gideon saod. "We are happy to be here and thank you for your escort." He finished before getting into the car. "So" Shimon said trying to make a casual conversation. "How long have you lived here is east Klent?"

[East Klent]

As Special Agent Conner walked to the other side of the car and into the driver's seat, Secretary Rienburg answered Shimon's question, "Since I was born here in 1960, but back then all of Klent was still ruled by The Badinians Monarchy," He got into the front passenger's seat, "The late President Morris Williams successfuly overthrew them in 1980, but in 2008, the last living decendent of the Badinians lead an uprising that was quickly defeated." he finished.

Agent Conner started the car, which was actually a limo, and they drove off towards the Executive House. During the ride, Secretary Rienburg pointed out the many landmarks and monuments that were in the District, "That obelisk is the Williams Monument, and that long wall where the workers are, is the soon to be Those Lost in Battle Memorial Wall which will be unveiled on the twentieth of this month," he turned back to the front and finished, "And that coming up is the Executive House."

[Menassa]

"It is and outstanding building" Gideon said. "So" Shimon said again "You have been working here a long time no?" He said thinking "I have been the high priest since I was 20." He was now 65.

[East Klent]

Executive House,
Williamsburg, D.K.

"I have held the position of Foreign Affairs Secretary since 2008, when President Jupoi became President following the death of President Henry McCurter in the Battle of the Bunker during the Independence War when we were fighting against Mostrov for sovreign control over East Klent," Secretary Rienburg answered, "Ah, we're here." he said as they were pulling into the front drive of the Executive house.

Agents Conner and Finnick got out of the car and opened the King, Shimon, and Secretary Rienburg's doors. They went inside and walked towards the Williams Room. When they entered, Secretary Rienburg and his staff placed their briefcases, papers, and laptop computers onto the table and sat down, prepared to talk.

[Menassa]

The King and The Kohen Gadol walked in the room and waited for every one to be seated. As a sign of respect they waited for the president standing up. It was his domain and they were only guests and they had to be respectful. For they needed this alliance. And they needed the old customs to. They needed a perfect balance in between there had to be a time and a place.

[East Klent]

Agent Conner listened to his ear-peice, "Tiger is approaching." he told delegates. Secretary Rienburg and his staff stood up at attention as President Jupoi walked into the room, "well, this is the saddest looking delegation I have ever seen; I have a Foreign Affairs Sectretary that is neither foreign nor has he ever had an affair." he joked. The Secretary and his staff laughed. "It's time to get serious now, everyone sit." The President ordered.

"Welcome, your Highnesses. I'm sure you got the tour of our beutiful capitol." he said sarcastically as he turned towards Secretary Rienburg, who again laughed, along with his staff. "Oops, there I go again, I said it was time to be serious and I said a joke. This is a place for serious matters to be discussed in a serious manner. Many alliances and treaties have been made in this room, as well as many tri-partisian deals, so you all know what to do here. Now for some unknown reason, I have a meeting with the Official National UFO Welcoming Committee right now, so I won't be here for the next hour, that is if security does their job soon enough." The President sat up again, as did the Secretary and staff, and he left the room along with his protection detail.

Secretary Rienburg and his staff sat back down, "So, where shall we start?" he asked Menassan Diplomats.

[Menassa]

"It is a pleasure to meet you Mr President." Gideon said. " I have come to with the permission of the president to discuss matters of trade piece and an alliance cause in this world now a days the more allies you have the stronger you are". He finished "Yes yes" Shimon said "Like my partner said we would like to trade some of our natural resources for some of your resources."

[East Klent]

Hearing his name being called, The President went back into the room and spoke to the King and Shimon, "We're also interested in tradeing resources with Menassa and we also share your idea that the more allies one nation has the stronger they are, but I'm terribly sorry, but for the next hour, Secretary Rienburg will be the main speaker on the behalf of the Klentian Delegation, because I have a meeting with O.N.U.F.O.W.C, but I will be back, hopefully, after that, and I'll speak. But at this moment I must fulfill my unwritten duty to talk to the crazy people of East Klent." With that, the President left the room.

Secretary Rienburg took that moment to speak, "As the President said, we share your idea that the strongest nations have the most allies, and we are very interested in trade with Menassa. What would your terms be for such a trade agreement with East Klent?" he finished with a question.

[Menassa]

"All the basics an open market between the nations and low tariffs" He said "I think it is a very reasonable agreement." He finished. He noticed shimon who just sat there he usually had something to say but today he did not.

[East Klent]

"I also think it is a reasonable agreement. So we agree on trade. I want to bring up the issue of defense. I think that one of the most vital parts of an alliance is each nation defending one another when they need to. I would say it is an obligation of any nation in any alliance. Wouldn't you King Gideon?" Secretary Rienburg asked the King.

[Menassa]

"I also think it is a reasonable agreement. So we agree on trade. I want to bring up the issue of defense. I think that one of the most vital parts of an alliance is each nation defending one another when they need to. I would say it is an obligation of any nation in any alliance. Wouldn't you King Gideon?" Secretary Rienburg asked the King.

"Yes I would a mutual defence pact? Which entails if you are attacked I defend you and vice versa?"

[East Klent]

"Yes, that is exactly what I mean. We could also saend aid to one another in times of need, such as droughts, floods, earthquakes, ecetera, ecetera. It would be very benificial to both of our nations, and such an arrangement would realy streangthen the ties of the alliance." Secretary Reinburg added.

"Tiger is approaching." Agent Conner said once again. The Klentian Delegation stood up and President Jupoi entered the room. "Well, that was one of my more, unique meetings. So, I'm here to stay now, what did I miss?" The President asked the King.

[Menassa]

"Oh the senator was talking of peace and aid and trade and things but will you the great leader of this glorious nation accept?"

[East Klent]

"Well I do accept, especially now that I know your opinion of me is greater than that of forty-eight percent of registered voters in this country. But, seriously, I do accept the terms of agreement. Now, I'd like to bring up one thing. How would you feel about establishing an embassy here in East Klent?" The President asked. "Before you answer, how's about we all sit down." he suggested and he and the rest of the delegates did so.

[Menassa]

"Well I do accept, especially now that I know your opinion of me is greater than that of forty-eight percent of registered voters in this country. But, seriously, I do accept the terms of agreement. "Before you answer, how's about we all sit down." he suggested and he and the rest of the delegates did so.

"An embassy you say?" He said sitting down after every one "I think this is a possibility and can happen so what will I need to do?"

[East Klent]

"Joseph, I think you can answer this one." the President handed the question over to Secretary Rienburg. "Yes, Sir. King Gideon, you would have to send an application through our Embassy Program. I suggest that you read the Rules & Regulations section very, very carefully." the Secretary answered.

"Oh, also, you'll se that one of the available cities to establish our embassy in is Williamsburg, D.K. which is now full and can no longer take any more embassies untill further notice." the President added.

[Menassa]

"Yes well I will get on that ASAP. Now is there anything more that is in need of discussion?"

[East Klent]

"Perhaps a name for the alliance should be discussed." Cathy Manning, one of the staffers suggested. Both Secreatry Rienburg and President Jupoi raised their eyebrows as they turned towards Cathy. "That, is not a bad idea, Miss Manning," the Secretary agreed, "Yes, most alliances do have names, so why not have a name for this alliance?" he asked in finishing.

[Menassa]

"Perhaps a name for the alliance should be discussed." Cathy Manning, one of the staffers suggested. Both Secreatry Rienburg and President Jupoi raised their eyebrows as they turned towards Cathy. "That, is not a bad idea, Miss Manning," the Secretary agreed, "Yes, most alliances do have names, so why not have a name for this alliance?" he asked in finishing.

"Hmm yes an name for our alliance. But what could it be?" Gideon questioned "There are many possibility's".

[East Klent]

While in thought, Secretary Rienburg looked over and say one of his staff jotting something down on his notepad, "Jim, let me see that." "O...Okay." Jim passed his notepad over to the Secretary, who read it aloud, "MenaKlent. I like that. All those in favor in naming this alliance MenaKlent say aye." "Aye." the Klentian Delegation all said in unison.

President Jupoi turned to the King and Shimon, "Well, Your Highnesses, what do you think?" he asked them.
