WGP2 Season One - Driver Signups (Open)/OOC Thread

This season has been enjoyable for me, at least, even after everything regarding scorination - I suppose that it's nice sometimes not to have to worry about the competition and just let the story flow! After the race I'll probably write an evaluation of my roleplaying over both this season and the last WGPC season, since I never got round to the one I had planned when the latter finished.

(Also, Vangaziland, would you mind replying to the post about Timothy Guard's plan being outlined at the Royal Olympia Hotel? Jessica Franssen did say that she would be there...)

Thank you! I will respond but I'd like to check that neither Audioslavia nor Aboveland, whose characters I invited along to the meeting (Esmerel seems to be taking a bit of time off all of this), don't want to post anything first.

I'll be honest, I'm disappointed in myself for my complete desertion of the RP after Novikov's lackluster season. I made mistake after mistake; I didn't have the courage to kill off Axel at the end of last season so I put him in a hardly believable team manager position, for starters. If I could I'd start all over again with new characters, but that's this done. I don't want to retcon anything either.

As for your invitation, Nexus, I likely wasn't clear enough with my half assed posts, but Axel got kicked out of his own team a few races ago. A horrible decision, a feeble attempt at removing him from my timeline. Regardless, I plan on bringing him back someday for something. I'll have him go to your meeting, but if the subject has to do with team stuff I'll find a way to involve Edvin and Terho.

Well, it's been a fun season guys. Especially having to judge so many top notch RPs over the past few months, and all the twists and turns. We've crowned the inaugural set of WGP2 champions, and let's hope this springboards the best drivers into future success.

Thanks for hosting such a great season. I paid more attention to what happened here than any other RL sports. It made for a great story overall, and I'd say it looks like the WGP2 can sustain future editions... I had fun and really did a bit of writing. Looking forward to the WGPC proper...

I won't lecture you on what you should or shouldn't do Somers, but I want to remind you of one thing. Your favorite driver is cool. But here, you can create your own driver. Someone like you with a fake name even. Or some celebrity you like mixed with like 4 other people. Imagination rules the day. It's not about rules, but about being creative and unique. Trust me, it'll be more fun. Take what you like about Kyle and mix him with other cool people you know, maybe even in real life. You could give him a name like Bush to represent your driver symbolically. It's not about what we do or don't like, but about expanding and creating our own world together. You know? It's all good.

Hmm... Axel's experience as both a team manager and racing driver was why Timothy Guard invited him to the meeting in the first place; leaving it, I suppose, doesn't affect that. In fact...

I haven't felt so inspired in months! I began writing, downbeat, some dumb idea over how to conclude and pull out of this trainwreck of a narrative, and I just caught on to the current and let myself get carried away by my ideas. What surprises does the future hold? I'm dying to find out!

Nice job, Vangaziland! I look forward to next season; hopefully Nexus Racing will be back on their game by that point. Ryker, I have no doubt, is looking forward to seeing precisely what all the fuss over Jessica Franssen was about...

Nice season all... I was sure Jack Kelly was going to take the Driver's Cup. Definitely a top notch driver. I'm also looking forward to seeing how things go against the defending champs in Nexus, plus all the others. Nice article by Aboveland in the end and it looks like there's even more talk of that meeting, so who knows... Maybe we could form the driver's association the Nimbans proposed..

Had quite a bit of fun writing my last post. Still conflicted over which verb tense to use for this kind of writing... I'm trying to navigate Axel's thoughts in the present but tell them in the past... it feels complicated.

Also, it's exciting to me that I'm finally writing Axel how I had intended to when I enrolled him in WGPC: a reserved, quirky and imperfect character who thinks he can do everything but knows he can't.

Your characters have always seemed dynamic and alive. Glad you found a second wind and can't wait to see everyone in the WGPC... No quitsies... It's all just a big storyboard...
