We'll have power intermittently this week, with possibly none tomorrow or the next day. Weather coupled with the rising water/flooding, mixed with a dash of "the power lines were falling apart already!" have brought the utility company out to fix things.

While I have power, I need to launder towels and suck up water with the shop vac. Our basement was a wading pool over the weekend.

Yikes! Hopefully the company will cobble together something more stable. Be careful with that flooding, it can have all kinds of nasty surprises. Be safe.

Zan Kraken would consider his short term goals as completing the experiments he started before being taken to Bielefeld; primarily creating a portable fast-healing serum that can fix bones and repair tissue damage. He would also like to become comfortable with being subservient to gods (which he's still coming to terms with existing), learning to interact with people better, and learn more about the future of the Rebellion from Maghrl. He'd like to find his purpose in the Agency properly instead of completing selfish tasks. Success, to Zan, would essentially be getting all of this done and earning himself a respected niche in the Agency while contributing to advancing science in the world.

Long-term, he wants to be able to leave a legacy of positive scientific contributions. He wants to be the guy that certain chemical reactions or reagents are named after. He wants to be the first guy to discover a new type of starship fuel, or find out how to recycle the Building's trash into energy cells. And through all of this, he wants the people around him to just appreciate his work. That's what would make him happy in the long run.

BIOGRAPHY (written in first person): Devine never asked for this gig, boo, just so we clear. No, Devine just had to be babysitter to a bunch of vagabonds and because one of those bozos got us lost in a dust storm, here came the motherfucking neighborhood telling Devine this weren’t Rigel no more. Thank goodness Calani is still with me or my looks would have devolved into those tasteless meatbags I’m still babysitting.

But I digress. Anyways!

All this fabulous is Devine; the one, the only. How Devine came to be is part shit storm, part charm, and keen intellect. And you don’t survive Rigel without chipping a few nails and dirtying a some high heels if a hooker knows what I mean.

How we met?

Well… I was on a job. High profile target, high value painting; I entered into negotiations on “behalf” of Archaeologist Association. Simple really, make a high enough offer, pay the bill and come back with the painting. Oh and honey, I negotiated a fine deal that saw my account sweetened by some six figures. And the painting? I swapped it for a fake. Needless to say, I got what I wanted and got the hell on out.

I was just there to rub shoulders (and sheets) with the other side of the negotiation. The Lodge itself wanted something from AA. Enter one of its people to drive AA’s price up. Artifact accompanied by a week’s services from yours truly. One very happy AA client, one favor done for AA, redeemable whenever, and one whole lot of extra cash for Devine. Not that it was intended at the time, but that’s how the dice rolled.

Covering Devine’s exit was worth the entertainment of the Head of House Fenollosa not realizing it was a fake. I may not be a painter myself, but I know what rings false. Fourteen years of training and work opens your eyes.

With Cer on a business trip, it's been just me at home to make a stand against The Sewer of Nonsense. (Long story short, minor flooding knocked out power, which meant the city couldn't pump. Excess water filled things up and, as we're at the very bottom of the slope right near the river's edge, all the debris and other things backed up. I've spend the weekend armed with waders and a shop vac, purging waste from my basement. We can't flush or shower, either.) Anyway, I haven't been on NS or even had a chance to RP IRL. I'll do my best to get more active again once Cer gets back (Wednesday night). Until then, I'm on catnaps when not driving home from my cousin's (in order to suck up filth... which is pretty much every 2 hours). She has spotty connection which is why I haven't been on.

I've also decided being an adult is no longer fun, and wish to put in a transfer back to childhood.
