KiHi-LEAGUE is the Hinodejin Empire's association football top tier, overseen in a joint effort by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association and the Hinodejin Football Union. Created to properly support the growing football industry at the country and to replace the Trophy of Eden (a small cup featuring the best amateur teams of the nation), it featured the eleven teams that took part in the 2037's edition of the Trophy of Eden (Alvinero Kawasuki, Atene Taleble, Cinébuti Monsu, Herarte Kyuminato, Konishima Niceverde, Morange Mii, Nakurusu Red Jewels, Reiku Wasserantis, Saturnica Montosuto, Solavista Nagisa and Usagi Semprehare) and three champions from previous editions (Ilumine Hikari, Mashu Hellowenia and Velechavant Nanto).

While at first peaking at featuring only the best twenty teams in the nation, it has changed towards the current format of twenty-six teams since the 2050 season. All twenty-six teams face each other twice, once at home and once away. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is declared champion while the bottom four teams are relegated to the second division, the KiHi-LEAGUE 2.

KiHi-LEAGUE 2

Postby Kita-Hinode » Wed Oct 11, 2017 7:02 pm

KiHi-LEAGUE 2 is the second tier of the Hinodejin Empire's association football pyramid, overseen in a joint effort by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association and the Hinodejin Football Union.

Founded at 2041, following complaints by then-Herarte Kyuminato's president Namine Nagatomo over the seemingly unstoppable increase in participants of the top tier (as the 2040 season had seen twenty-eight clubs face off, nine of those having just been admitted from the Trophy of Eden, its' first season saw twenty-two teams take part, eight of those having been relegated in 2040 (Ilumine Hikari, Konishima Niceverde, Montamare Maruiyu, Notigamusha Robine, Penagrine Mayane, Shinobi Ibuki, Sitrus Mayoidesu and Tserulin Hanada) and the other fourteen having played the 2041's edition of the Trophy of Eden (Antelope Serebizumi, Blessie Shukufuku, Canalemare Mio, Crisantema Kikushima, Felicité Kotobuki, Hollow Kurosaki, Honei Sabedor, Hylian Ninfu, Kashikoigai Liberdade, Kokohi Skullomania, Schmetterling Watari, Pascal Mashu, Vivaroar Hawai and Yoshino Flora) with the top two teams being promoted to the next season's KiHi-LEAGUE.

Currently, the tournament features twenty-six teams, four of those having been relegated from the previous season's top tier while other four came from that season's third tier. Those twenty-six teams face each other twice, once home and once away with the team with the most points being declared champions. The top four are then promoted to the following season's KiHi-LEAGUE while the bottom four are relegated to the KiHi-LEAGUE 3 next season.

KiHi-LEAGUE 4

Postby Kita-Hinode » Wed Oct 11, 2017 8:34 pm

KiHi-LEAGUE 4 is the fourth tier of the Hinodejin Empire's association football pyramid, overseen in a joint effort by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association and the Hinodejin Football Union.

The division was founded by the Hinodejin Football Union in 2053 as a tool to make sure each of the then existing three divisions has the same number of teams without properly kicking out any of the pro teams into amateur levels, ensuring fair competition in the lower leagues. Notably, its' first season featured only ten of the fourteen participants of the season's Trophy of Eden, by now considered a feeder tournament for the Hinodejin professional system, ended up taking the HFU's invite. The ten teams were Barutoromai Saints, Guridoru Wingball, Hanger Daian, Kawashimikado Glory, Kinokomura Rosalina, Kirikiri Xatu, Minamimachi Higashi, Mokujin Sadamitsu, Tropius Hiyoku and Voltaroady Kurisutaruda. As for the other four teams, Hinawa City Sports Club (2052 Himawari State League champions) and Naobe Transports (2052 Ainushima State League champions) were simply not invited, while Kurosaki City Sports Club (2052 Kameria State League champions) and Miishima Athletic Club (also from Himawari, qualified after winning a Repechage the previous season) chose to instead play another Repechage, with Miishima winning it again. By the end of the season, the top two teams in that division would play the next season's KiHi-LEAGUE 3.

Currently, the tournament features twenty-six teams, four of those having been relegated from the previous season's third tier while other four came from that season's fifth tier. Those twenty-six teams face each other twice, once home and once away with the team with the most points being declared champions. The top four are then promoted to the following season's KiHi-LEAGUE 3 while the bottom four are relegated to the KiHi-LEAGUE 5 next season.

KiHi-LEAGUE 5

Postby Kita-Hinode » Wed Oct 11, 2017 9:10 pm

KiHi-LEAGUE 5 is the fifth tier of the Hinodejin Empire's association football pyramid, overseen in a joint effort by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association and the Hinodejin Football Union.

Created in the season of 2080, it was established as the final additional KiHi-LEAGUE division by Min-Shu, King of the Hinodejin and, at the time, the President of the IHFA. At the time, the regional Hinodejin leagues had risen to popularity an acted as the official fifth tier, but he believed the prizes offered by the regional leagues didn't quite boost them to the levels of the major teams with few exceptions in between. The first official season featured seven Northern Hinode League teams (Chokoboshima Chokies, Girafarig Maruseppu, Kishimoto Scribble, Koryo Winning Eleven, Leona Hokori, Metronome Rimere, Princesiña Tikaru), seven Central Hinode League teams (Amitibiru Racoons, Hephaestus Minori, Honei Sabedor, Kuniohiko Pegasus, Morukawa Steppers, Mulan Dragonas, Purakentia Oceanz), seven Southern Hinode League teams (Athena Sirena, Irori Milkies, Izakita Voltron, Kawasobu Ransom [nowadays Kawasobu Rivermen], Minagi Tempesta, Satoshima Angel Kids, Sutekina Pidgeottos) and five Western Hinode League teams (Atami Jianshi, Maelstrom Syogame, Miruka Eevees, Nikai N-Force and Yarimakashi LaCura). In the end of the season, the best four teams would be promoted to the KiHi-LEAGUE 4 next season.

Currently, the tournament features twenty-six teams, four of those having been relegated from the previous season's fourth tier while other four came from that season's sixth tier. Those twenty-six teams face each other twice, once home and once away with the team with the most points being declared champions. The top four are then promoted to the following season's KiHi-LEAGUE 4 while the bottom four are relegated to the Hinodejin Challenge League next season.

JEWEL OF THE DÉESSES

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sat Oct 14, 2017 4:15 am

The Jewel of the Déesses is the domestic cup of the Hinodejin Empire, disputed by all KiHi-LEAGUE sides. The tournament was created in 2037, together with the KiHi-LEAGUE, in a bid to extend the professional teams' calendar. Although this only meant four games (for the finalists, Alvinero Kawasuki and Velechavant Nanto), the tournament fell in the graces of the population and has since become a "special tournament", one where teams that couldn't always keep up for a KiHi-LEAGUE title run could shine in short spurts.

The tournament's name, Jewel of the Déesses, is based after the inaugural trophy: a golden, ornate trophy covered in jewels, notably a set of seven (based after each of the Déesses) and one at the top that, as history tells, was created by the surviving Déesses with a lot of magic. In Tsutsuji, the state based after the Kitsunian part of the Eleven Tribes, the trophy has since been given mythical status because of its' design and the few opportunities Tsutsuji-based teams won the trophy are celebrated handsomely.

TROPHY OF EDEN

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sat Oct 14, 2017 4:44 am

The Trophy of Eden is officially the first ever national club tournament of Hinodejin football. Designed by one Nikolai Thorben, whose history now matches the evolution of the sport at the nation, the original plan behind the tournament was to have it created by 2025, one season after the experimental first edition of the Nations' Cup but, as Thorben himself famously stated "the game of Football is a tool for unification and character, and I will not have my tournament disputed by a select few" and since not every state was as quick to re-establish their football leagues, the Trophy of Eden only started out at 2031, after successful first seasons of the leagues of Sakurahana (whose delay was based out of sheer lack of interest, for the state preferred baseball) and Uchina (who loudly refused against any sort of league, citing that their state was the one responsible for war efforts, and the Hinodejin Empire at the time was a small state at the north of the "Mainland Island") but plans didn't work as well. The tournament was to be broadcast on television and games were to be hosted by the home teams themselves but in the end, the tournament was restricted to radio coverage and all games were hosted in the Royal Field, a grass pitch at the Castle of Hokuto, under the watchful eye of Queen Satomi and her advisors.

At first, the tournament was known as a tournament of principle, with said spirit being pushed up by Lassie Annui (the former Lassie Alcouin) who assumed the reigns of the tournament after being taught by Thorben himself as an intern. She refused participation of KiHi-LEAGUE teams as soon as that tournament started, citing unfairness over having pro teams face amateur sides. Instead, the tournament ended up becoming an unofficial passing grounds to teams wishing for KiHi-LEAGUE admission. She would, funnily enough, create rules that made it even easier for good teams to keep playing the Trophy of Eden if they failed on their bid to participate of the pro tournament.

Starting at 2064, the tournament serves as a smaller, domestic cup, featuring only teams from sixth tier Hinodejin Challenge League, seventh tier Hinodejin Advance League, and the eighth tier (and so on) Regional Leagues. The trophy for this tournament has been nicknamed "the Wheel", for the trophy itself is a golden Wheel of Arceus, a reference to the period where the Hinodejin lived at Eden with the Deity itself.

NATIONS' CUP

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sat Oct 14, 2017 5:19 am

The Nations' Cup (formerly Eleven Nations' Cup) is the first official football tournament overseen by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association. Established in the first ever Sports Congress of Hokuto of 2023, it was first overseen by Nikolai Thorben and a council of eleven former players from the days of the Sunrise Islands, each representing one of the states. The idea was to have a national tournament, hopefully raising up interest for organized sports, a thing that hadn't been around ever since the Sunrisians left the realm in 2021. Thanks to each player promptly representing one of the states and a lot of words from Thorben himself, the tournament was a success.

The first game, a seven-nil win for Tsutsuji as they hosted Kuroba, saw the tournament start off with a bang and by the end of the year, that same team that ran over Kuroba managed to hoist the title as they beat Somei-Yoshino (the state of former Sunrisians) by two-nil at the Royal Field at Hokuto. The early years of the Nations' Cup were disputed in a league format, usually at monthly breaks from professional leagues (whenever those were established) and the champions were awarded with a golden scepter with small flags (eleven, one of each state) tied to its' bottom, but the tournament soon saw changes after the establishment of the state of Himawari (former colony of Kazama), renaming the tournament the Twelve Nations' Cup and later on, the annexation of Anbanabira and Enkuruma, establishment of another colony that would later become the state of Rikuyoru, saw the tournament change even more, and with a faster pace as well.

In 2071, qualifying was established with all seventeen states being divided into four groups: North (Ainushima, Burakuriri, Kurosawa, Nashihana, Rikuyoru and Sudachi), Central (Himawari, Kameria, Kuroba, Sakurahana, Uchina, Ume-Aburana), Southern (Anbanabira, Enkuruma, Somei-Yoshino, Shirobara, Tsutsuji) and Western (Himegono, Misashima, Mioku, Nikai, Okagane, Syogame) with the leaders of each group moving up to Play-offs, with Himawari winning the tournament over Tsutsuji after extra-time (AET 1-2).

These days, the tournament happens every four years, with the qualifying groups hosted throughout those three years in the middle. Champions are given the Royal Bastion, a scepter used by Queen Satomi, turning into the trophy after being donated by Queen Tomoyo.

HINODEJIN CHALLENGE LEAGUE

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sat Oct 14, 2017 1:22 pm

The Hinodejin Challenge League is the sixth tier of the Hinodejin association football pyramid, overseen by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association. Originally proposed by several regional league sides, the idea was to have a new division to serve as the gate of the KiHi-LEAGUE system, where costs were smaller and regulations were loosened, in order to help upcoming teams.

Currently, the tournament features thirty teams, four of those having been relegated from the previous season's fifth tier while other five came from the Hinodejin Advance League, the nation's seventh tier. Those thirty teams face each other twice, once home and once away with the team with the most points being declared champions. The top four are then promoted to the following season's KiHi-LEAGUE 5 while the bottom five are relegated to the Hinodejin Challenge League next season.

HINODEJIN HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sun Oct 15, 2017 8:21 am

The Hinodejin Hockey Championship is the top professional ice hockey league, overseen by the Hinodejin Ice Hockey Federation, with the winner being granted the respected Countess Mina Trophy. The league's origins come from the establishment of the Countess Mina Trophy that was disputed between several amateur leagues, although emphasis laid on the Ainushima Hockey League and the Kurosawa Territorial League with two teams from both leagues (the Ainushima Ainus and Taishinami Shamrocks from the earlier, the Kurosawa Natives and Kurosawa Wanderers from the latter) as ice hockey was very popular in the early northern regions of the country.

After efforts from "the Lady of Ice" Nina Mairi, these four teams agreed to play in a professional league, being joined afterwards by a third Kurosawa-based team (Bashi-Kumenikono Cobalts), two teams from recently conquered territories (Akira Comets out of Kaigane-sho and the Giishiga Kings out of Shiga) and a team owned by the court (Hokuto Courtmen) for the first-ever Hinodejin Hockey Championship. As time went on, however, the league saw teams drop almost regularly, while entrants were few and between. In 2094, the Taishinami Shamrocks bowed down, citing a lack of finances in the main league, returning to amateurism before closing down by the end of the century. The five teams that survived that period were the Kanshiro Tigers (the former Hokuto Courtmen, having moved to Kanshiro with the court), the Ainubyu Ainus, the Giishiga Snowflakes (the former Giishiga Kings) and the two Kurosawa teams (Wanderers and Natives).

Mairi would step down in 2097, leaving the president spot with Kurei Beriimon, a shrewd businessman that chose to use the old franchise system for the Northern Sunrisian days. At first, it came off as a success and the league saw their numbers rise once again, bringing up finances from sponsors as well. The wheels of that machine fell off as early as 2105 when, in a bid to corner the markets, two of the teams that had barely arrived (Kuresento Magic and Hinode Metropolitans) got their walking papers. The decision was universally panned, but Beriimon stuck to his choice, causing the league to suffer in the long run. He would repeat this strategy by killing off the Saishu Stallions and Nukutaki Tribe not too long after, as so as to guarantee dominance by the Kanshiro Blue Dragons (the former Tigers, renamed for flashiness) and the Kurosawa Natives (who had long since merged with the Wanderers, another decision influenced by Beriimon), causing the remaining teams to turn against him and have him flat out banned from the sport in 2113.

Nina Mairi was once again brought to the presidential position and thus loosened regulations, putting the league in a good light with the medium and lower classes of Hinodejin society as several teams returned (including the Shamrocks, who now revived under the name of the Taishinami Painters, while making a point of establishing one team for each state of the Mainland Island. This aim would be reached in 2124, although she had once again left the presidency of the league in 2120. The new president, one Kihito Saito, continued her work and eventually brought in teams from the Mido-Hinodejin Hockey League, thus truly creating a nation-wide league.

The current set-up was established in 2129, as the Mayako Flyers and the Tentai Capitals joined the league. All forty-two teams in the league are divided into two conferences, the Hinodejin Conference and the Imperial Conference. Each of these has three divisions: the Hinodejin Conference features the Continental, the Border and the Metropolitan Divisions, while the Imperial Conference features the Eastern, the Oceanic and the Western Divisions. Lower levels are not regulated, however, it isn't rare for teams to invest in their regional leagues as a sort of youth setup. Teams are extremely forbidden from moving out of their regions, a result of twenty years where, even for the weakest teams, fan support has been regularly massive. Divisions would be scraped by 2142.

HINODEJIN V-LEAGUE

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sun Oct 15, 2017 3:46 pm

The Hinodejin V-League is the top league of volleyball in the Hinodejin Empire, overseen by the Hinodejin Volleyball Association, the Imperial Ministry of Sports and the Association of Volleyball Teams of Hinode. Originally, volleyball was mostly played at the state of Nashihana, acting as attractions to their hotels, most notably creating the amateur-only Kawa-no-Ichitsuki Open in the late 2020s, later being renamed the Kawasuki Open. At the time, however, it remained as a sideshow and players weren't paid enough to justify professionalism.

Things would only change in Queen Mai's final year as she left her daughter, Princess Taki, to assume power in her stead. Taki, a big fan of Volleyball from her infancy years at Kawasuki had already established a team playing at the current Royal Castle but lacking actual competition. Eventually, she'd start the Hinodejin V-League inviting other twelve teams that would play her Royal Team and the champion was gifted the Shield of the Asakawa, a shield used by the first queen of the nation, Queen Satomi, during the trials.

2131 saw the members of the league form a second division, named National Volleyball League that would be overseen by an association of all Hinodejin volleyball teams, with the intention of forming a pyramid, not unlike the association football league. In 2134, the teams voted for a re-branding process, in an effort to drive the sport away from the status of a sideshow. 2137 saw the formation of a male-only league composed of counterparts of Hinodejin V-League sides.

HINODEJIN CRICKET LEAGUE

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:39 pm

A young man sat on a comfortable chair made of the most illustrious mahogany one could find in Marikonanta, one of the Hinodejin Empire's colonies, sitting behind a very large desk made of what seemed to be iron. He was Kyo Aasakawa, the youngest brother of Queen Taki... and clearly bored. He currently acted as the Empire's Sports Minister at Koneshi.

However, so far his day had been mostly watching life outside through the window. This after many, many days of doing nothing. His boredom seemed endless until a voice called him on through a box. "Sir, a man called McStereotaipe wants to meet you." The young royal sighed. "Sure, sent him in."

The man looked... odd. A black top hat together with a dark, buttoned jacket. He wore glasses that resembled the bottom of two bottles of beverage glued together. On his feet, spats over black shoes. He also held a cane. "You'd be..." Kyo started to talk before being stopped abruptly by the man. "Jenson McStereotaipe, young sir!" he said, with a grin on his face. "Entrepreneur, taxidermist, composer, bullfighter and quite the rapscallion in my youth at the 1900s." Kyo looked alarmed. "...1900s!? B-b-but that was-" He was shushed, rather unpolite, by Jenson.

"I'm here, young sir..." He noted, pulling out papers out of a suitcase he apparently pulled out of nowhere. "To present you with an opportunity. I'm aware of your current standing in the Royal Court and as such, would like to request you officially allows us to have a league for one of the most important sports of the world. I, of course, refer to cricket."

Kyo rose an eyebrow. "Oh, I used to have some of those back in the day." Jenson was confused. "What?" Kyo got up from his chair and smiled. "Yeah, I used to have them battle with the children of the court. Although we called them beetles here-" The gentleman rose up. "B-but sir, I mean the sport where people play with bats and throw balls and-"

Kyo sighed. "Fine. I'll sign the papers, but I believe we need to give the league a name so nobody gets confused in the Empire. It's what good royals do, after all."

Jenson left triumphantly with the papers confirming his league's status as the official league of the nation... at least, until he realized the name of the league.

Welcome to the first season of the Hinodejin Cricket League for the Inept and/or Doped. The league is disputed by twelve teams, all of those from the state of Nashihana.

HINODEJIN BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Postby Kita-Hinode » Thu Nov 02, 2017 7:18 pm

The Hinodejin Basketball League is the top basketball league of the Hinodejin Empire, overseen by the Imperial Basketball Federation. The league's origins go back to the year of 2085 as an effort to help out a growing Somei-Yoshino basketball scene.

Unlike other leagues, the Hinodejin Basketball League took to expanding slowly, usually focusing towards their original state: eight Somei-Yoshino teams remain in the league. Infamously, however, the league dreams of having a new team in the former capital of Hokuto City. In the past, the Hokuto Bullets were a fairly successful team until the team got swallowed up on the city's crisis after being demoted from its' national capital spot and later reformed as the Hinode Bullets while the players from that squad would join the Hapurona Tropics and never quite reach the same skill that helped the former Bullets.

HINODEJIN RUGBY LEAGUE LEAGUE

Postby Kita-Hinode » Sun Nov 12, 2017 4:00 pm

The Hinodejin League Class A is the top rugby league competition in the Hinodejin Empire. Founded in 2098 by the Honorable Company for Health of the Body and the Mind (based out of Jinmachi, Somei-Yoshino) and featuring the finest teams of Somei-Yoshino until 2115, when Uranai (out of Tsutsuji) and Miruka (out of Nikai) joined the competition. The league is notorious for introducing the concept of team mergers out of the desire for competition firepower as, in the year of 2116, two merger sides were created as Victory Road (the former sides of Kawasobu, Tokiwa and Yamabuki) and Raiden Valley (Raimunejima and Sirena) took the rugby pitch. Ironically, the other team to form out of a merger included the Jinmachi team that merged with neighbours Daiyawayasu to form Metro Hinode.

A second tier was formed in 2133. Promotion and relegation work with the two worst teams getting relegated from Class A to Class B, being replaced by the two best teams out of Class B.

2136 SEASON

Team News:
- The Jokoryotai Spearmen renamed themselves as the Jokoryotai Lakers after the prefecture of Jokoryotai offered a hefty sum of money as sponsoring the squad. It's the first-ever team to be sponsored by their own city. The team's new name is based on the Jokoryo Lake, one of the city's main tourist spots.
- The Yujin Windbearers, after much mockery, renamed themselves as the Yujin Windbenders, based after the legendary tribe of "Air Elementals" that lived in the province of Kankyo before current civilization arrived.
- The Hinode Bullets finalized discussions with an amateur basketball team from the city of Hokuto, their former hometown, to form a new version of famed Hinodejin basketball team Hokuto Bullets. This is the third team created with the said name, the first one having spent a couple of years at the regional leagues before moving to Hinode and returning to the HBL and the second one having lasted a mere two years in the Central Yoshino Basketball League before folding. The new Hokuto Bullets will play out of the Central Hokuto Museum Park, taking part in the Somei-Yoshino State Basketball League.

League News:
- The Street Hoops Invitational was hosted successfully by the Mashu Wolves, the Sirena Cavaliers and the Daiyawayasu Kings last summer. This marked the first time this 5-on-5 tournament was hosted by three different teams, while also the first time this decade where all games happened at the league's stomping grounds in Somei-Yoshino. Notable names included Min-Su Yi (a mere fifteen-year-old girl travelling from Na'eshu, Minakoku), Agito Takayama ("The Speed Devil"
small forward out of downtown Mashu) and William Linfield (a former Kanteshiman nobleman plying his trade as an English teacher).
- The All-Hinode University Tournament saw underdogs Basque University top Zeppelin University in the finals. The Nashihana-based school's trip made them fairly used to beat Somei-Yoshino schools such as Somei-Yoshino, Somei-Yoshino State and the Somei-Yoshino Battle Institute while Zeppelin faced local rivals Speedwagon in the semis, having passed through the Naval Dragons and Kurosawa. This season's MVP was Kyoji Kisumu, Basque University's power forward.
- The National High School Trophy, the nation's major tournament between lower league sides saw another win by the Senso-Shukujo Ladies' High School as they squashed the Suzonoshima United School Team by 92 to 71 in the tournament's final. This is the seventh time this program claims the title.

HINODEJIN ADVANCE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
Catalle Goshirama (1st title)

LOWER LEAGUES
- The Northern Hinode Top League saw a surprise finish as the Yosuga Blisseys claimed the title and the promotion slot in the final matchday, beating LaRouge Kawashima by 2-1, thus taking the top over Andoha Risu-Purara by a single point (as Andoha themselves drew against Popplio Ikki) and thus ensuring the team's first ever season as a Hinodejin Advance League side.
- The Central Hinode Premier League saw Praumai Raruse comfortably top the division. Praumai will also be debuting at the Advance League following a run that saw them lose only three games and draw another three with competition that featured former regulars in the KiHi-League lower tiers such as Azara Rosadora, Tempo Marion, Dynamo Kinsetsu, Kirikiri Xatu, Hollow Kurosaki and Usagi MoonStars.-
- The Southern Hinode Top League ended in the hands of Shion Haunters. The Somei-Yoshino side dominated a lacklustre division and also can claim their first-ever season as an Advance League team. Among the latest regional champions, the Haunters probably claim the most alarming record of them all, only dropping points once in the entire season, a record in the usually crowded Southern Hinode League ranks.
- The Western Hinode Premier League saw another first-ever champion as Primaverdi Fujisaka claimed the trophy in a very competitive affair with clubs like Shekiti Bluestar, Durugobi Monasterians and Matsubara Algodoneros all in title range. While football in the Western portion of the Empire has often being considered bleak, in opposition to the crowds that rugby has drawn in that side of the land, Primaverdi might've ignited something in this region with crowds overflowing their venue, the respectable Fujisaka City Stadium.
- The Golden Road Football League One, in their final season before the expected expansion in numbers take part (a result of many of the last territories taken by the empire being near the original Golden Road), saw Luna-Saria state team Kokiri Saria claim the first ever piece of silverware for that state. With a team of former nobles of conquered nations taking the field, this plucky side impressed the more traditional Mido-Hinode teams and now prepare for the expensive trips that teams from this region usually face.

YOUTH FOOTBALL
Olimpo is rebuilt, Kazama wants a double - Hinodejin Youth Football Preview
Article written by Grand Royal High School student Aiko Sakuraba

The cherries blossom, the Pelippers flock to Ainushima... You can almost feel it in the air, the start of the second ever All-Hinodejin Youth Football League. Twenty teams from all parts of the Hinodejin Empire take to the fields for the prize of being the top under-21 football team in the nation. Unsurprisingly, all twenty teams that participated in last season's tournament returned, although clearly, some did evolve throughout the off-season. Here's a preview of all twenty sides.

Image
ALOHA HEIWASHIMA
Honoshima, Heiwashima
The first ever professional youth football club to ever be created in the Hinodejin Empire has yet to show off its' tradition in the Youth Football League, although a respectable seventh place last season was enough to show this team has something to bring to the league. Aloha's most notable recruit, keeper Odo Cazal out of Chromatik City, Chromatika has been recruited to complement the already solid defence of Shimizu, Maki and Hitomi, while forward Nitta has certainly caught the attention of a couple of professional teams recently. Fans of the Heiwashima outfit expect the side to retain the defensive football while depending more on Nitta himself.
Image
CHAOLAN ZAIBATSU
Hiun, Kameria
A middling season saw the Kameria side invest in recruitment both inside and outside of the Hinodejin Empire, including a (potentially) transcendent talent in Heldeburgis Moitessier, a goalkeeper that was apparently rejected by Project Olimpo over budget and play time. Other notable recruits include Chromatik left-winger Bossu Piaget, offensive midfielder Lala Safari and playmaker midfielder Keita Kuremaru. According to scouts and financial advisors, Chaolan Zaibatsu's efforts toward recruitment are actually related to the Zaibatsu's owned side La Isla Bassa, although the team's choice of scrapping a fairly competent squad with some of these recruits is still odd for a team owned by such a prolific company.
Image
GERUDO TRADING COMPANY FC
Mui, Tentai
Getruco's pet side was fairly underwhelming last season, although many have been eager to point out that this team's faults laid mostly on the team's officials and that the squad itself was fairly competent on the ball, although not quite as good at aiming at the net as it was believed they would. Then again, the same team officials have done nothing to remediate problems, only recruiting Yesopalithan right back Linkan Pihanka. Although the team's choice of fielding what amounts to a bunch of Gerudo girls with a single werewolf boy sounds way more like the plot to a harem manga instead of an actual talented football team, looks can be deceiving, as far as Gerudo are involved.
Image
GET WELL SOON UNITED NAITOGARU NURSERY
Hinode, Somei-Yoshino
Mirroring the team that played the first ever football league game in the Hinodejin Empire, GWSU Naitogaru Nursery performed admirably for a team of in-training nurses, although maybe a bit too physical for their own good, with many a critic pondering whether or not the team was aware of fair play and whether or not they were able to keep up with the competition without relying on cheap tackles. Still, the Hinode based squad managed to recruit up left-back Murielis Burgeois from Yesopalitha in hopes that she'd be able to put the criticism to rest. Even then, this was shrouded in questionableness as the girl was actually looking into joining a proper high school, ensuring bad blood between GWSU and Hinode Sunrise High, the school she now attends.
Image
GRAND ROYAL HS
Kanshiro, Nishikoku
Barely avoiding the move to Tentai City, the school that had been established during the days in which the Empire placed their capital at the Korean peninsula now has the opportunity to focus on the league. Unlike most teams and schools, we focused on recruiting inside the Empire and our results are interesting, although it's hard to say whether or not these players will actually result in something inside the field. Names like centre back Makoto Nanaya and left midfielder Tarou Sega do happen to be the best players of this batch by a landslide, though even then the team still feels like the fairly weak team from the previous season.
I like to imagine we're favourites, though.
Image
HANADA CITY HS
Hanada, Somei-Yoshino
One of the worst teams in the league last season, you'd think Hanada City would've looked into recruiting new players. Instead, the team retains the same look, switching around one or two players due to injury. The team once again relies on a 4-3-3 system featuring the fabled Beautiful Sisters: Mishi, Misha and Mashi Nishigawa. Sadly, the actual good player from this family, one Nina Nishigawa is still an elementary schooler, which means Hanada might be looking into relegation if things don't change around. This would hardly be a devastating blow to the school's athletics, as its' swimming team remains one of the top sides of the nation, but you clearly can't win in football through splashing in a pool. Diving notwithstanding.
Image
KAZAMA ALL-SCHOOLS FC
Kazama, Himawari
Last season's surprise champions chose stability over new pieces, this Kazama All-Schools team remains pretty much the same,
only a single year older and a single year more experienced. Starred by pint-sized forward Momoko Ichibonji and captained by determined goalkeeper Ken Wakamaruichi, last season's plucky side started to show its' fangs, spending the off-season practicing against several Universities, most notably trashing the traditional Burakuriri State University by three-nil and rolling over Di Bradini Champion side-backbone Mido-Hinode University by five-one. This is the team to beat and every side is very much aware of that.
Image
KOHEI CHERRY VILLA HS
Kohei, Nekori
Cherry Villa's season was fairly uneventful, its' bright light happened to be one of the finest matches of the league in a local derby against Koshu Dragon Guard HS, where the Cherries barely lost by the impressive result of four-three. This team, however,
didn't spend much on reforming their squad and as a result, should dream low. The notable story in this squad is of offensive midfielder Seong Mi-Na, a walk-on that chose to attend the school over her recommendation to rivals Koshu Dragon Guard. Maybe out of glee, the team chose to play her as a starter, her skills being something yet to be seen.
Image
KOSHU DRAGON GUARD HS
Koshu, Nishikoku
For a team with the nickname of "the Dragonborn", Koshu didn't amount to much beyond their effective offensive game. Their very effective offensive game, however, proves that you don't need a fantastic squad to finish in a respectable position in the league and while the Dragon Guard HS still wants to fancy themselves as a title contender, students and alumni noted they'd be content if the team finished above their bitter rivals in Kohei. Defensively, the Dragonborn earned new weaponry in the Kim brothers, Kim Dong-Hwan and Kim Jae-Hoon. Although the brothers aren't exactly ones to agree on anything, they are the first players this squad has seen that actually do bring some defensiveness to the table.
Image
LUNA WANDERERS FC
Shintomara, Luna-Saria
The Mara Shijo show remains a constant in the All-Hinodejin Youth Football League, as the now eighteen-year older remains one of the deadliest players of the entire league, even if her squad still doesn't quite complement her actual talents. Chromatik recruit Eufemma Joubert seems to be fairly enthusiastic to side with her, although whether or not this team can actually accomplish something higher than a fifth place has yet to be seen. In the end, however, it all depends on Mara Shijo as to whether she'll be able to cope with a talented teammate or not.
Image
MAKU TRADING GUILD FC
Maku, Mikashu
Self-proclaimed rivals of Getruco, MTG's stance on taking to the football fields has consisted mostly of mirroring their competition. Getruco hired a wolf boy from Yesopalitha? MTG hired Hangest Braseur, a central midfielder from Chromatika. Getruco fields a team consisting of ten girls and one boy? MTG does the same. It's a war between two companies and only one can leave on top. One has to ponder whether or not such matters should be solved on a football field, although it has to be admitted it is way better than to solve it in a justice court or a battlefield.
Image
MASHU ELITE HS
Mashu, Somei-Yoshino
Mashu's practice of playing against nearby rivals before actually playing league games proved very problematic: a depleted and often injured side found the bottom of the league before briefly improving their position to a still pretty bad seventeenth place.
After listening to critics that the school actually had a fairly solid squad that was just overworked, they chose to honour their games against local rivals during the off-season. What you get, instead, is a team of notable players, oiled up like a proper machine. Names like Nagasaki, Namezono, Ichida and Tokei have a good shot of popping up during the season and that can't be overlooked.
Image
MIISHIMA POLYTECHNICAL HS
Miishima, Himawari
Last season's wooden spoon is... still embarrassingly bad. Things just simply didn't change at Miishima, potential players refused to join the football side, instead opting for squads such as Rugby, Tennis, Judo, Karate and Kempo; all sports Miishima has some notability for. Things are still fairly bleak for the football side, although some do think that Tentai-born Mii Sadaharu could be this team's saviour. A surprisingly good midfield piece, she is clearly above the team's level, but odds are that the team does face relegation at the end of this season, unfortunately for this talented girl.
Image
PROJECT OLIMPO JUTSII
Athena, Jutsii
The talk of the league has to be Project Olimpo, a team that wants to do what Project +90 did for the Sunrisians in the far away past with the addition of one of the finest venues of the league, the Pantheon Park at Athena. Backed by TomoyoWear, very much like Vulpine Sportif in the past, this squad already has some promising talents that could make waves in international football, such as Schottian Adam Keill, Chromatik Gilbert Crotot and the three forwards Gitonga Kahara. M'aka Antoine and Athena Inagusame. If all of this promise does pay off, Olimpo will be the team to fear. That said, this is a brand new squad and most of them aren't very used to Hinode. It can end either way, though odds do say they won't finish in the bottom four like last time around.
Image
ROYAL MUSIC YOUTH ACADEMY
Linshu, Hiyena
One of the western-most teams in the league, it still boggles the mind how a team that clearly prefers music classes has actually gathered some footballing talent among themselves. Kai Suboii, Yuna Mishikaji, Daei Matsuda, Lorelei Komatsu and Miyami Teska formed the finest midfield of the league and still have enough on their tank to strike against any side that isn't able to figure out this unassuming side can mean business.
Image
ROYAL THEATER PREPARATORY HS
Kaito, Mikashu
The famed Kaito Royal Theater didn't sound like the place where one could find a solid football team until this team showed up to play. A team trained in kung fu and theatrics ended up showing massive skill in the field. It's hard to even point a single player here that doesn't impress. The downside is that many of these are certain that they won't continue in the sport, but they're still going to play in this league, which should be enough of a problem for the actual future football players this league has.
Image
SARIA GREENS FC
Saria, Luna-Saria
The Greens' poor season saw them return with fifteen-year-old right winger Cienne Wu out of Etoile, Yesopalitha. Once again, Saria welcomed her as the plucky, cheerful city it is, but the team itself already show signs that they might end up depending way too much on the Yesopalithan. The season will be a battle to stay in the top tier, though it's hard to see this side staying around for too long as is.
Image
SENSO-SHUKUJO LADIES HS
Senso-Shukujo, Tsutsuji
Known for their impressive basketball team, Senso-Shukujo Ladies HS team isn't very good. To be fair, the school fielded their first team ever last season and the results weren't exactly surprising. That said, SSLHS legendary eye for talent might be starting to work, as twin sister Yuki and Yami Takashima have been recruited from a scouting session at nearby Uranai. The two girls were deemed promising by the scouts at Olimpo, but both refused to join the Project out of the desire to remain near home. If more of these talents show up, the Ladies of War could, at last, add another team to their list of dominating sports clubs.
Image
SOUTHERN IRONWORKS GIRLS
Tamani, Turanitai
The All-Goblin side overperformed last season, finishing at the top four and even bordering the top of the league at some points. In order to grow over their previous result, the squad finally broke down the species barrier and brought in Chromatikan center-midfielder Delicata Allaire and Hinodejin center-forward Kira Nishigakira. Hopefully, this is the boost that could help the Goblins to the top.
Image
ZORA YOUTH FC
Kamitenabaru, Burakuriri
To the Zora Kingdom, last season's successful run by the Zora Youth meant (water) buckets towards their cause of respect. This season sees an even better funded Zora Youth take the seaside grassy pitch of Kamitenabaru, an even more refreshed team ready to surf the competition with rages that only Neptune could pull and... Fine, overdone the water jokes a bit, my bad.

Aside from these twenty teams, another group of sixty-four teams square off in a lower division simply called the Access Division. This Division isn't meant to be a regular feature, however, as this set-up is actually intended to form three new divisions, thus forming a proper pyramid for Hinodejin football at the youth level. These sixty-four teams were divided into four sections as follows.

DIVISION 1A
An interesting set of teams, spearheaded by organizations that originated some of Hinodejin football's clubs, such as Hawai Surfing Club, Senatori Social CLub and Ainushima Surfing Club but also notable institutions such as the So-Nya Nekojin Academy, the Myanikaji Cavalier Academy and the Wuyon Wind Leaf Leg Academy. Foreign recruits of this division are Erard Jeannin (Ainushima Surfing Club, CB, 15 y/o, CMT), Patrice Irone (Mui Cosmetics, CM, 15 y/o, YSP) and Rwana Qet (Keijo Dairy, LM, 15 y/o, YSP).
DIVISION 1B
A Division featuring several schools of all sorts, from regular school sides such as Sanijina Sant-Joan HS; teams based themselves out of several schools like Tentai All-Schools FC to a team based out of a Foundation that works with education (Zeppelin Foundation) and the Royal Dragontamer Academy, the division's only Royal institute involved. It features two foreigners in Huguelin Leavitt (Marine Shipping and Travel, RW, 15 y/o, CMT) and Phelippon Lambert (Arctic Dream Shopping Mall YFC, LM, 15 y/o, CMT).
DIVISION 1C
A more corporate division, mostly based out of teams backed up by proper companies although it still features a couple of high schools and a Manashima unified team. It also features an actual rival of a top tier team, Northern Ironwork Girls. Foreigners include Mariota Gachet (Toadstool Enterprises, RW, 15 y/o, CMT), Hahewisa Ballesdens (Berinii Steelworks, RB, 15 y/o, CMT), Hersent Bernier (Hikata Media Group, LM, 15 y/o, CMT) and Thimiscles Seanclair (Misutikku-Iseki Diamond Miners, GK, 15 y/o, YSP).
DIVISION 1D
The final division, this one featuring teams that, according to scouts, have been featuring some inspiring talent. Beibei Shopping Mall's Nekojin YFC has reached for the reputation of being the finest Nekojin football team around while Bolt Travelling has the honour of being supported by the same company that formed one Kokohi Skullomania. Foreign recruits of this division are Gautier Plantier (Bolt Travelling, RB, 15 y/o, CMT), Mikhail Istanhil (Kodoryo Underground Metroway, ST, 15 y/o, YSP), Iuetta Robillard (Lady Shinagayama Delicacies & Deliveries, CB, 15 y/o, CMT) and Tana Kiln (Lady Shinagayama Delicacies & Deliveries, CB, 15 y/o, YSP).

With all that football, this season promises a lot of opportunities for you to catch some of the players the future will bring. I guarantee you'll love it!

The Kenaki Professional League is Kenaki's top association football league. Formed in 2115 by the Kenaki City Council in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the discovery of the Kenaki Territory, the tournament ended up becoming the Kenaki National League after teams from Aretsu and Konamikawa joined. The league would, not too long later, be ordered by the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association to move towards professionalism. The move has yet to bear any fruits, although the league reached stability and nowadays sees sixteen teams take part in the tournament.

The Kenaki season is usually played during Summer, as thanks to Kenaki's position in the globe, the territory's football fields are normally unusable and indoor venues have been deemed too expensive to the diminutive teams' budgets.

The Karinode Football League is the top competition of association football in the Hinodejin Territory of Karinode. Due to its' geological formation, Karinode teams chose to organize their competitions in Northern and Southern Divisions. Under an agreement between both original leagues (the Karinode Northern Football League and the Karinode Southern Football League), the Karinode Football Association and the Imperial Hinodejin Football Association, the champions of both divisions were crowned national champions until both divisions merged upon the completion of the Royal Tunnels, guaranteeing free travel under the Silver Mountains.

One major note was that local tribes found in football an outlet to rebel, albeit peacefully, against the Hinodejin society. The Five Karinode Tribes, Chinook, Shoshone, Pueblo, Navajo and Salish fielded teams after the 2119 season and became a regular feature, when not flat out winning the leagues. At last, however, under pressure for professionalization by the IHFA, these teams saw their usual dominance fall back. The Salishi, seeing the writing on the wall, formed the colony's sole tribe-backed pro team, Lapras Sashiki. Other tribes, however, weren't so lucky and soon found themselves merging with local teams, who now inherited the legacy of the tribe sides. This moment also saw the end of hostilities between both sides of the populace, overseen by the Hinodejin Empire's new Karinode Colonial Leader Myo Purrington.
