AirAfrica is the state owned flag carrier of the Islamic Republic of North Africa. The airline started in 1962 when independence was gained from Arthropol. The airline started by buying a Boeing 707, two Tupolev Tu-114’s and would later purchase two Ilyushin Il-62’s. With the growing demand of travel and tourism to North Africa, our airline steadily grew. Now AirAfrica is one of the biggest African airlines, and with the explosion of the aircraft manufacturing industry in North Africa, AirAfrica has an mostly African made fleet.

Fleet
Passengers on AirAfrica can enjoy a modern fleet of European and African built aircraft. Our fleet is one of the biggest in Africa. Our pilots are trained to the highest standard on simulators, and in older aircraft. The aircraft are painted in the 'Africa' livery, with the pan-African colours on the tail.

Services
AirAfrica planes have three service classes, Economy, Business and First.
Economy Class

Economy Class on the Mokrani M-160
Economy Class is the lowest seating class on AirAfrica jets. Economy class features IFE on widebodies, with overhead screens on narrowbodies, and with delicious African meals on longer flights. It is available on all aircraft.

Business Class

Business Class on the Mokrani M-120
Business Class is the middle seating class on AirAfrica jets. It features IFE on all seats, and offers a choice of gourmet African cuisine on longer flights. It is available on all aircraft.

First Class

First Class on the Mokrani M-120
First Class is the premium product of AirAfrica. It features IFE, with extensive choices of movies in Arabic, French, Spanish, English, German and Chinese. Multiple course gourmet African cuisine is served on longer flights, with an extensive menu to order from. It is available on A330, M-110ER and M-120 aircraft.

Meal Service

All AirAfrica meals are made by our professional chefs, and are to the best quality. AirAfrica offers a wide variety of African cuisine on its flights.

Africa Lounge

The Africa Lounge is the lounge of AirAfrica open to all business class and above passengers. It features a buffet, a library, and sleeping facilities.
