Speaking as an immigrant to the states myself, as far as I'm aware that is not what is being proposed.

What's being proposed is a crackdown on illegal immigrants. Mexican citizens who choose to enter the country legally through designated entry points with due process will still be allowed to enter the US.

I know we're supposed to assume both are feasible, but I honestly don't think Mars is until terraforming is invented, which I don't think we'll truly have for a few centuries or more yet.

Though either way I say Border Wall, just so we can have a Great Wall of America.

And then we'll build a wall around Earth and make the Martians pay for it!

If all the Perot '96 bumper stickers I see on cars today were any less depressing, he would be the 2nd richest, but only by about two and a half Mitt Romneys.

If he really needs to meet Elon Musk on the way up he can just skim money from the federal budget or something through tax breaks for small fingered people who like gold and sexual assault.

What makes you think the proposition of a border wall comes with the proposition of a Mexican ban? It won't ban them from coming here.

Well, probably not rich enough to fund a Mars colony.

But seriously, I'm all for Mars colonization and increased attention on space exploration. Divert the entire wall budget, raise taxes, gouge the defense budget if you have to. Leaving humanity's cradle that is Earth may be a tad more important than having the means to fight the entire world and nuke it into oblivion several times.
