There has been a massive fallout over allegations about film producer Harvey Weinstein. A number of high-profile actresses have come forward with evidence that Weinstein had committed sexual assault and harassment. Consequently, his wife Georgina Chapman is leaving him. Not only that, but his film company has fired him, and BAFTA has suspended his membership.

I think this is a very serious betrayal of trust that could have massive repercussions on Hollywood, in a similar way to how Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall betrayed the trust of the BBC with their sexual assault shenanigans, and the BBC had to take as much the blame as Savile, Harris and Hall.

Most likely scenario is he will go to jail for a few months if not a couple of years then get out on probatio/parole and be required community service or classes to avoid further time or even a massive fine all together to avoid jail

It's not just Hollywood. The screenjunkies exec was sacked this week for similar allegations. Joss whedon was embarrassed over some revelations over his private life +albeit not to the same scale).

I did like how several prominent actors and actresses are coming out saying they heard the rumours, but still was happy to go along with working with him and appearing with him. Take Lena Dunham for example, outspoken feminist, heard the rumours about weinstein,but put it all to one side for "the greater good."

Makes you wonder how many of these virtue signallers are either complete douchebags, or complicit in their douchebaggery.
