Biography:
Born in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Jules was born to Amélie and Cédric Trouvé on August 8th, 1990. His father was a lawyer, and his mother a home maker. Jules was the middle child of three kids. His older brother was athletic, his little sister was smart, and he was creative. Jules was an odd child, always hanging out with the girls, taking an interest in fashion, cosmetics, and art. Certainly out of place, he was happy though. His father not so much, which when he was 13 his father signed him up for the Army Cadet Corps. The 743 St-Jérôme, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps was just down the street. He continued this through to the first year of university. This didn't straighten him out as his father expected, but it did make him appreciate the outdoors, physical activity, and national pride.

In Secondary School it was much the same as elementary, except now people identified each other with tags. He studied marketing, biology, chemistry, and languages. He really wanted to focus down on the human image. After High School he attended McGill University for practical translation and marketing, while working on the side to get his college certificate for cosmetics and aesthetics.

With the help of social media, networking, and a few good friends Jules was able to get into the world of cosmetology. He built up a solid portfolio working in numerous fashion shows and magazines. While not quite famous enough to launch his own make up line, he was known well enough to stay relevant. Jules was working on a high profile wedding in Rochester when the infection hit. From there it's a blur for Jules as he lost track of those who he was with in the first place. In all the chaos he hopes that his family is all right as he makes his way to the last evacuation site in the area.

Biography:
Born on November 21, 2002, Elijah grew up with a very unordinary life, being abandoned by his parents and under custody of his grandparents, but aside from that, he had a very normal life up until the virus arrived. When it did, it hit his hometown particularly hard, infecting everyone except him, and was forced to kill the people who he loved greatly when they became bitten, as well as watching his former squad mates being mutilated in the outbreak in his high school, leaving him severely traumatized.

Fighting off infected and running like hell, Elijah was able to reach and further fortify his home, making it near impenetrable, allowing him time not only to cope and figure out what was going on, but to also make some observations about the virus's effects on the infected, and even trying to see if masking his smell with rotting flesh will make the infected leave him alone. It failed, as the stench nearly made him faint, forcing him to run back to his home, attracting more than the amount of infected he wanted to deal with, compromising the shelter's safety. He remained stuck, surviving in the shelter as long as he could, staving off hunger as infected prevented him from leaving, as well as facing sleepless nights, as nightmares of the traumatic events haunted him, causing him to become paranoid. Chipping away at his roof, he accessed the top of his house, with infected covering the streets.

He decided to leave, fashioning a plastic zip line allowing him to hop to and from nearby telephone poles, collecting what he deemed was needed for his survival. Utilizing the survival skills he learned, he was able to escape in a car from the infested town, eventually becoming a lone wanderer, hoping for anyone that he could stand beside that won't end up stabbing him in the back. After several weeks of jumping in between groups of traders, gangs, and others who's sanity could be easily questioned, Elijah ended up in the evac zone in Rouchester, New York, much to his own relief, though unsettled with the thought of an outbreak as strong as the one in his hometown.

Biography: Born to a South Vietnamese Air Force pilot who escaped to the United States in 1978, Jack Nguyen is the third of seven children. He was born in June 1985. His father told Jack of his stories of flying A-37 Dragonfly attack jets and later, F-5E Tiger II light fighters. This got young Jack hooked into aviation. When he entered middle school, he discovered the Civil Air Patrol when it set up a STEM program at his school. This got him into the Civil Air Patrol squadron as a cadet at Edwards AFB. His successful CAP cadet career ended in 2004 when he left for San Jose State University, its AFROTC detachment, and the aviation program there. At San Jose, he met his future wife. After graduating with a degree in aviation, Jack was assigned to the 43rd FTS at Columbus AFB, Mississippi flying T-37B Tweet trainers and then T-38C Talon advanced jet trainers. He earned his pilot wings in 2008 and was assigned home to Edwards AFB flying F-16s with the 416th Flight Test Squadron. He married his girlfriend in later that year.

In 2009, Nguyen deployed to Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar for his first six-month deployment. Though he found his deployment most unusual because of his assignment, he nevertheless carried it out dutifully. When he returned in 2010, he found that his father was suffering from cancer. Jack suspected Agent Orange exposure. Though his father was given the best treatment available, he sadly passed away in 2011. Later that year, Jack and his wife conceived a healthy son, and Jack did everything he could to stay stateside. Unfortunately, with the fight against ISIS in 2015, Jack was once more deployed, this time to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

While returning to base in his F-16C on a routine close air support mission, Jack received a distress call from an Afghan National Army Commando unit that was ambushed by the Taliban rescuing a shot-down Afghan Air Force Mi-17 transport helicopter. Though he was aware that he had no weapons left to engage the Taliban with, he nevertheless flew off to help provide cover after tanking up. As the first wave of Taliban encroached on the downed helicopter and ANA commandos, Jack flew his F-16 in low at approximately 500 knots 200 feet off the deck, afterburners in kick. A nearby MQ-9 reported that some of the insurgents were retreating.

However, they were wrong; the Taliban merely regrouped and began making a second attack, this time with heavier weapons like mortars and heavy machine guns. Jack looped around and made a second pass, attracting small-arms fire below. This time, the Taliban understood that Jack had no weapons left and began engaging him instead of the ANA Commandos. At least five 12.7mm antiaircraft rounds hit his wing,
but that did not deter him from drawing attention away from the commandos. Once more, Jack made a third pass, this time at 300 knots.
He also had lethal intentions this time; approximately half a mile away from the Taliban, he fired a burst from his F-16C's M-61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon. The targeting pod mounted on the centerline of his bird confirmed two technicals destroyed and one mortar team killed.
Despite leaking fuel, Jack stuck around until US Army helicopters arrived under the cover of an AC-130U Spooky II fixed-wing gunship and two AH-64D Apache helicopter gunships.

When the last helicopters left the site, Jack observed the AC-130 destroy the remains of the Mi-17 with its howitzer before departing and escorting the AC-130 away. Jack's fuel load reached critical on final approach towards Bagram; in fact, his engine flamed out just 20 feet above the runway. He skillfully landed his glider of an F-16 onto the runway before being pulled into one of the hangars.

For his selfless act of drawing the Taliban's attention away from the downed helicopter and then covering US aerial elements, Jack was awarded the Air Medal; the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the Secretary of the Air Force overruled it, however, and upgraded it to the Distinguished Flying Cross. The Secretary of Defense was dissatisfied with Jack's award and upgraded it yet again to the Air Force Cross, the second-highest award in the Air Force.

When the outbreak occurred, Jack was temporarily reassigned towards the New York Air National Guard, flying observation missions from Rochester to find potential sites to expand to. Sadly, his wife and young son fell victim to the virus, and he went from a cheerful man to a sullen one.

Accepted.

Biography:
Bethany Nash was born in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of a computer technician and a schoolteacher. Deaf, the girl would face some difficulties in the first few years of her life, but the disability was only a minor complication to an otherwise normal childhood. At age seven, the girl's father and pregnant mother would be killed in a traffic accident (a truck failed to stop at an intersection), and in a single moment her life would be turned upside down. Bethany would be sent to live with her next-of-kin in Upstate New York, William Townley, an estranged uncle whom she had never met before now. A veteran of the Gulf War, Uncle Will could best be described as an avid hunter, an unabashed Republican, and/or a hick with racist opinions. Stern, but he was kind enough to Bethany, and the two would later develop an abrasive yet amiable uncle/niece relationship.

Life in the backwoods was completely unlike what Bethany was accustomed to, but she made do, being too hardheaded to do anything else but thrive despite the circumstances surrounding her. Bullies were quick to target the deaf kid which led to many fights and afternoon detentions (which subsequently led to the girl befriending her would-be tormentors, thus graduating from "bullied" to "bully"), whereas the teachers were oftentimes oblivious on how best to educate a hearing impaired student. At home Bethany would help her uncle with various chores, eventually learning how to shoot (small caliber hunting rifles mostly) and how to fix simple mechanical/automobile problems, but also would acquire some of his less charming viewpoints as time wore on though to a lesser extent. The teenaged Bethany would be a native of the New York backcountry, not quite a hick or redneck but close enough to fall into such generalizations.

Bethany was working at a local gas station when the East Nile Virus emerged as a global threat. Living in the countryside, she and her uncle were unconcerned at first, but as the situation deteriorated the two made plans to survive the collapse of the United States (Uncle Will had previously entertained the thought but now had sincere reason to do so). Regardless, the illness would be slow in traversing the divide between urbanized city to rural backwoods. Or so they had thought. A man fleeing Syracuse stumbled into town on Day 103, and with him came East Nile. The virus quickly overwhelmed much of the town's population. Bethany and her uncle would flee with the other townsfolk who hadn't been killed or infected, but the disease followed, and Uncle Will would come down with illness. He and the other sick would separate themselves from the main group, choosing to "wait out" the disease knowing that the chance of recovery was slim-to-none. Bethany was unwilling to leave behind the only family she had left in this world, but Uncle Will gave her little choice in the matter, giving her his old .22 rifle (he kept his handgun) and telling her he'd catch up soon. It was an obvious lie but even Bethany understood that the man balked at the thought of dying in front of his only niece. She and the remainder of the group continued on without the sick towards Rochester Evacuation Zone.

Accepted, pending character image.

Name:Alex "Vern" Vernon
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Description: Short kid, toned from 3 years of stocking freight and heavy boxes. Brown hair, brown eyes, around 5'11, and clocking in at a solid 187 lbs.
Occupation: Walmart CAP-2 Associate (Support manager)
Carry Weight: 80 lbs
Strengths:
+ Physically fit - Years of stocking and lifting heavy boxes have built up his muscle mass to a respectable degree.
+ Resource management – Years of stocking, sorting, and situation a whole department of a Walmart superstore have led to him having a keen eye for organizing his resources…and to a bad case of OCD when it comes to his stuff.
+ CPR SIRT certified – IS trained on the current methods to give someone CPR, both hands and mouth, as well in the use of a SIRT Defib machine. Through his own researching, he has basic knowledge of basic trauma care.
+ ADHD – One of the most common Neurodevelmental disorders, Alex has a hard time sitting still for any prolonged amount of time. He has not heard of the supposed immunity to the infection.
+ High tolerance to heat – years of living in Florida, as well as working in an enclosed stockroom have given him a unusually high tolerance to heat.
Weaknesses:
- PTSD – He is still human, and the act of watching his family comeback from the dead and try to eat him as caused him to be changed, he talks less, is more distant, and hasn’t slept through a full night in 19 days.
- Introvert – Despite his leadership position, he is a rather withdrawn person to begin with and often comes off as cold and distant. This has led to conflicts with others in the past, leading to his status as a lone wolf.
- Inexperienced- While he has fired his rifle and pistol before, he has never used them outside of the range, and while he has had to use it on infected, he has yet to fire on living targets, as he idea of taking another life, especially when the dead outnumber the living, does not appeal to him.
-low tolerance to cold – See above.

Biography:

Born and raised in Florida, he grew up as a military brat, with the idea's of respect and integrity being instilled in him at a young age. Despite this, he was not a social person. At a young age he showed a hyper activeness that made him an outcast, and labeled him delinquent at a young age. He got in to fights, cursed at other kids,
and by the time he was in high school, had a reputation of a person one would not fuck with.

At 18, he graduated high school and began to peruse college applications, though they never came to much, and so he took a low paying job at a Walmart instead. This is were he found a love for shooting and guns. He bought his first rifle at 19, and his first pistol, a vintage Walther PP, at 21 for his Concealed carry permit. He took them to the range often. Shortly before his 20th birthday, he would be promoted to support manager, and given classes on basic leadership and resource/department management. by 22, he was one of the youngest managers in Walmart history.

Then the world went to shit, he found Julie in an abandoned truck stop, and has been wondering around with her since.

Accepted.

Biography:

Born on October 9th in Cincinnati Ohio she lived in the run of the mill nuclear family. Her father was a police officer in the CPD, with her mother who worked online. Her older sister has since moved out and worked in LA as a waitress trying to get famous, she was always the dreamer. Miranda was an introverted person who spend much of her time writing or gaming online. Once a year her family would take trips out to the country for camping in a nearby national park. Days before the virus hit Ohio she and a group of friends left to go camping at Cuyahoga Valley national park. Her life was calm and nothing out of the ordinary. As her sister was in California her aunt was in Florida, and her uncle working in Germany. The rest of her family lived in the state of Ohio. As she neared the end of high school she planned on moving to Seoul to work in the Seoul Police Force. She had been learning korean since she was 15, and had gotten decent at it. She was set to go on the foreign exchange before the virus hit.

The first few days were the same as all the other times Miranda went with her family, but the only thing different was she was with her friends. After her first three days out in the park, they heard the pops of gunshots, one of their friends who was in the national guard(18, he enlisted early so he is still in Highschool)dismissed them as poachers. By the fifth day helicopters were becoming more and more common. As they were running low on food and beer a few took the car to head back into town. As they came back they told about how they saw a man get eaten by another and the police shooting him time and time again and that he would never die. This prompted them to disregard the rule they made to not go on thier phones. As Miranda turned on her phone she was several miscalls from her father over the course of four days. As she called back he answered in a worried voice and telling them what had happened. As they started packing a car pulled up, one of the National Parks service, the park ranger told them to leave and the park was being shut down. As they got out of the park they made it to the highway where the National Guard was setting up barriers. As they reached a checkpoint, the member of the gorup was in the national guard notified them of who he was and was taken out of the car an they soon passed. As the drove closer to the city the sound of gunshots filled the air. As she arrived to her home she left her friends. For the next months they would stay camped up as the city fell apart around them. The once great city of Cincinnati was hit, the infection spread like wild fire. Over time they along with several other people were forced to the roof looking for rescue. As they soon made thier way to head to an evacuation point they knew that they wouldnt last if they stayed in the city. As the days ticked by they were moved north to Rochester, New York to the International Airport now one of the largest refugee centers on the east coast. Her father was killed by Canadian soldiers after he was caught steeling food, and her mother was ill. As they arrived in Rochester her mother was taken. She was now alone looking for help.

  • Louisville Slugger (0.87 kg, 1.9 lbs)

Bio: Born on January 27th, 1980, Clement grew up in Kansas, with two rowdy brothers and another wild older sister. Him and his older brothers would often play fight, or just screw around with each other like siblings do. They lived in the country, so not many other kids lived nearby. His sister was a different story; she was always the most popular at school compared to her three brothers, and had a severe case of tomboy. Clement’s parents spanked their children if they were rowdy, but still loved them.

Clement’s sister began growing distant in high school; compared to her happier brothers, she started going out a lot to sneak drugs. She was a bad driver, from what Clement’s trips in her car could tell him. Eventually, she ran over a child when she was seventeen and prosecuted. Clement went on to become a psychiatrist, his brothers doing their own things with their own families. Soon enough, Clement’s sister was released from jail.

He married at 29, never having wanted a kid. His sister started crashing at him and his wife’s place in Texas; before eventually, she went out and didn’t come back. Clement found her at the hospital, having overdosed on pills at a bar. She died right in front of him and his wife, and a wave of guilt swept over him when he realized he was glad her misery had ended. He became colder and threw himself into his work, before his wife got pregnant.

He stayed at home more often, finding a new reason to live. He adored his son. But his marriage only fell. They were never sexually active, and the light they once had only disappeared. Clement was caught in an affair with the neighbor’s wife, and him and his own filed for divorce. He moved to New York City, after finding a psychiatric job there. Trapped in his depression, he continued working. At one point, he discovered some of the drugs he had been prescribing gave nothing but harmful side effects, rather than having any actual effect on the person’s mental state. He considered confronting the drug companies, but ultimately his apathy got the better of him. He was paid more with the prescriptions; and he needed the money to afford a home in NYC. He continued until the outbreak turned up, sending him spiraling towards Rochester during the chaos in the city.

Bio: Graham was born in Massachusetts, an only child. He was often spoiled by his parents, and lauded by classmates. He grew up with sense of idealism, which led to his dreams of space travel, photography, and detective work. He found himself solving simple mysteries, like where his pencil had disappeared to. In high school, he started drinking. When he was seventeen he began to take drink more and more, before having never thought himself to be an alcoholic.

He wasn’t heavy or regular at first, but the drink got to him eventually. He began shoplifting, but was stopped after a good push around from his friends, telling him to get his act together. He stayed clean for a while, but his parents soon grew more and more absent from his life. He got into a car crash while drunk one night, almost ruining his life. He was put into rehab for a while by his parents, sending them reeling into debt. They were cold with him for a while, but eventually they got over it.

The rehab helped Graham tremendously. He became a model student soon enough, headed off to college. He gained many friends and things began to look up, but unfortunately, old habits die hard. At 24 he started seeing a psychiatrist, which is the point in which he got his Xanax addiction from a misuse of a prescription. Moving up north to New York City, Graham became a member of the NYPD. With his major in Criminal Justice, he found it easy to get a job and go through the police academy. He stayed off Xanax for the starter drug test; but once he found himself on the force, the pill-popping picked up speed and continued. He lived in Long Island, seeing a psychiatrist every so often so he could renew his prescription.

It was then that the outbreak began.

Name: Samuel Wayfield

Occupation: Student
Carry Weight:
Current: 6.02 lbs (2.73 kg)
Total: 39 lbs (17.6 kg)

Strengths:
  • Smart
  • Endurance
  • Runs well
Weaknesses:
  • Scrawny and weak
  • Depression
  • Disconnect from reality

Personal Belongings:
  • Brown windbreaker (0.23 kg, 0.5 lbs, wearing)
  • Gray and navy long sleeve shirt (0.16 kg, 0.34 lbs, wearing)
  • Sneakers (1.13 kg, 2.5 lbs, wearing)

  • Naked Lunch (0.25 kg, 0.55 lbs)
  • School backpack, black
  • Sketchpad and pencil (0.23 kg, 0.5 lbs)

Background: Samuel was born in upstate New York. He was an only child, and found most of his comfort with his parents and their siblings, though he lacked social interaction with kids his age. From a young age, he was quite shy and socially stunted, leading to bullying and feelings of inadequacy. His self esteem plummeted, and he became sensitive to the world around him. Samuel cried more and grew paranoia, his parents hovering and over protectiveness looming over him. He found himself enjoying isolation after a while, enjoying drawing and watching movies and reading. In middle school, he was bullied more. He became stuck in a rut after this; in high school, he felt himself falling into depression often. He felt that his grades were plummeting, and he wasn't getting enough sleep at night. He refused to tell anybody of this, but the signs show eventually.

Samuel’s parents tried to help him, but they were largely unsuccessful. He’d simply feign happiness until he was allowed to stay in his room all day. He grew disconnected with the world, taking to drawing in the woods of their New York home, surfing the web, and playing solitaire. As high school went on, Samuel found himself with no friends and a depressed attitude on life. He tried dating, but could hardly keep a long-term relationship going. He began to dedicate his life to schoolwork, leaving drawing behind as a somewhat distant memory. He was outside, sitting on a stump when the outbreak began, the disease which killed his parents and sent him to Rochester.

Born in Seoul, Kim's childhood was not the easy one. His father left him and his siblings and mother when he was 3, cited affairs with his mother's friend as the reason why. Also at this point Kim's asthma began developed, though it was at the most dangerous level when he was a child. The fact that life was such a hard thing back then didn't help his medication and illness well, though it was the worst thing that happened to him. Growing up well, he looked for a job as delivery man, part-timing while in a college.

Soon after he was graduated from the college, he took examination of military service. Found that his asthma is a problematic issue, he was issued Grade 4 (unable to enter because physical or mental health) and therefore he began to worked at public institutions for 36 months as the alternative means of conscription. In those time, having spent a healthy life, he began to trained himself in Taekwondo as a means to keep himself physically healthy. His asthma had begun to turned down lower and his health turned better. After 36 months, he signed in on a civil examination and found his work at South Korea's embassy to USA. In this time, he met his first girlfriend, and they began dating. However, she manipulated him into thinking that she was trusted, though it was revealed she had a relationship with someone else. A fighting ensued, and he sped up the move of him to America.

For the next 5 years, he went back and to USA - SK, in time developing a taste for American spaghetti, in particular the instant spaghetti of Chef Boyardee. At the same time he also began to trained himself much more in martial arts, now that those kinds of American-made martial arts appeared, including a particular style of kickboxing of theirs. When the outbreak first started in Africa, almost all nations didn't really paid attentions though they watched closely, including South Korea. At that time, he was on his way back to Washington DC. But soon enough, the disease ravaged the entire world, and he was on his way to the airport when it was announced that there were no more flying in and out. Him, with many other staffs still in US, were left without means of exit. He took the idea of Walking Dead and Train to Busan as the general idea of what to do in the midst of outbreak and took all things for him to be considered and left to New York.

Bio: Jennifer was born in North Carolina country, where she lived a relatively normal life. Born as an only child, her parents divorced shortly after her birth. After this, she lived with her mother in Raleigh until she remarried, at which point they moved downstate to a farmstead. Jennifer didn’t get much socialization this way, but enjoyed life overall. She helped her parents out with the farm, and grew to love her stepdad. They became her friends, along with animals on the farm.

Overtime, she grew a disrespect for her parents and found herself unable to tolerate them. She had a few friends, but they never had time to hang out and as such she became lonely once more. The girl was trapped in her home; but once she got a license, a job, and her stepdad’s old pickup truck, she found a way out. After graduating high school, she kept in touch with a few of her friends, but they all faded eventually. She was social with co-workers, but found keeping any sort of meaningful relationship difficult.

The girl went off to college up north in New York later, where she found a job at the movie theater. A short while into her studies, the outbreak hit and she was forced to Rochester with a few other girls. They all were killed by the plague, but Jennifer finally made it.

Not 100% sure what I'd want to do for a character, but would a character originating from Canada be allowed to have a firearm?

Biography:

Kat was born outside of Yekaterinburg in a small dacha, owned by her father who worked for the KGB, then FSB; her mother worked in a clothing factory before taking up work as a secretary when Kat was 4 years old. The family then moved to Volgograd for a time, her father participating in the First and Second Chechen Wars. This time period was much a blur to Kat now, only vague recollections of harsh winters at the family Dacha in the Urals, and spending summers at the beaches of the Black Sea. But when you get to about age 9 in Kat's mind the memories become much more vivid. Her father always stern, having wanted a boy, and accordingly treating her as such. So she developed the musculature of a woman who did labor and hard work. Much to the chagrin of her mother who advocated her to pursue a tertiary education.

At the age of 17 she was conscripted into the Russian Armed Forces. Serving with the Russian Ground Forces she proved apt. Her father having nurtured a sense of independence, adventure, and belief in the cause of the Motherland. Her father's influence also helped her along. She graduated from Frunze with a commission in the Ground Forces after being involved with actions in the 2008 Russian-Georgian War. Her later military career was of the more shady kind. Her mother was often kept in the dark deliberately. If anything her father was the only one who knew that his daughter may have been involved with Vympel. At any rate she doesn't talk about it much. The death of her father, under unclear circumstances in 2014 led to her rapid departure from the military. At which point she enrolled in the Saint Petersburg State Medical University. Having credentials already attained via the Kirov Medical Military Academy during her years of service. There she studied rigorously for three years, earning a doctorate in general medical practice and surgery. At which point she moved to the United States just before the outbreak of the East Nile Virus.

So would they require a permit for weapons that require permits by NY law? Or the laws of the state they came from?

*Edit* Nevermind just looked it up, NY law does not require permit to carry rifles. Would they still ask for some kind of ID though?
